Card Captor Sakura Fan Fiction ❯ Dark side of the moon ❯ Chapter 6

It was too late Ryuu sei thought as she watched the young Clow mistress break the barrier binding the evil mage's spirit to the tree. A huge blast of black and purple energy burst forth knocking everyone back.

"Finally I am free! Free to have my revenge!" cried the shadow as all the energy swirled around him before being sucked up disappearing.

When the smoke cleared and everything calmed down Li stepped away from Meiling and ventured out of the shield that the large cat, Ryuu sei had used. He looked around and saw that Kero was fine a little dusty but fine and it seemed Yue was untouched also though he seemed to be searching for something.

It glanced around once more before he realized that Sakura was missing. She had been right in front of the tree when the seal broke.

"Oh no, Sakura!" he shouted as he raced towards the spot where the tree had been.

It was noting but smoldering ashes and burnt earth, there seemed to be nothing left.

`Where is she? Please be alright.'

Yue flew higher flapping his wings trying to clear away the smoke that was clouding his sight. Keroberous walked up beside Li his eyes sad, he did not want his new mistress to be gone. He really liked her she was perfect for them, it couldn't be true.

Li waited as the smoke cleared showing off the chard remains of the tree, it was split down the middle and its branches were touching the scorched earth around it. He noticed that there was a large black ball near the base of the tree. He took a deep breath and walked towards it, half way there it started to move. He stopped as the ball opened up revealing an untouched Sakura.

He ran towards her with Keroberous and Yue not far behind. When he reached her he fell down and grabbed her wrist feeling for a pulse. He let out the breath he was holding a smile playing on his lips.

`She's ok. Thank Kami she ok.'

He thought as he brushed the bangs from her eyes his hand resting on her cheek. He glanced up when he noticed small red dots landing on his sleeve, the ball was bleeding? He backed up and found that it was not a ball but the akuma creature that had saved Sakura, using her body as a shield to protect her.

Ryuu sei walked up and sat down beside Li.

"You are alive Amaya."

Amaya grinned as she shifted standing up with Sakura cradled in her arms. Ryuu sei stepped forward and bumped her head against Sakura's hand a faint green light surrounding her before disappearing.

Yue and Keroberous watched as Sakura slowly opened her eyes and looked around. Amaya set the young girl down and backed up into the shadows watching as the Guardian beast tackled the young girl in a huge and licked her while scolding her.

Meiling ran up to them and hugged Sakura and Li only to hit them both on the arm and scolding them for worrying her. Yue was relived that his mistress was fine but he wanted to know who had saved her. He turned to see the one called Amaya was hiding in the shadows.

He also noticed she was the one who had helped them before the one who he had `chased' after a few nights ago. Her right wing was bent and sagging her right arm was being cradled and she was favoring her left foot. She was pretty beat up.

" Arigoto domo for saving my life."

Sakura said bowing to the akuma before turning towards the large white cat and doing the same.

" May I ask who you are?" Yue asked

Ryuu sei locked gazes with him before she turned her gaze on Li. Yue seemed to understand the basic meaning. They did it because of the young boy, they seemed to be connected to him somehow.

" I am Ryuu sei Shugoshin of earth and that is Amaya Shugoshin of Tengoku. We are the servants of mahou and our master."

" Who is?" Keroberous asked

" You know him as Clow Reed's descendant."

"Li?!"

The girls looked a little stunned but Li and the guardians didn't look at all stunned.

" I don't see how it possible for him to inherit you two." Kero said

" I believe we should go somewhere else."

They finally noticed sirens and the noise of people getting closer. Sakura transformed her wand and she and Meiling got on while Ryuu sei scooped up Li and they took off.

Amaya found it hard to fly, her one wing had been badly damaged and she was not able to stay aloft too well. She flared her good wing out catching the wind and gliding to the nearest building. She landed and tried to stretch out her wing but it hurt every time it moved out.

" Wonderful."

She saw that they had disappeared but it was fine she could just follow her master's ki or Ryuu sei's. She tried to move her wing out again only growl out from the pain. She was so absorbed in what she was doing she didn't sense when Yue landed behind her.

He had noticed when she pulled away from them and so had Ryuu sei. Yue glanced back and only after a second thought he followed her to a near by rooftop. He found her growling at herself trying to stretch her clearly broken wing.

He was able to make out some of her features and even bloody and dirty she looked very beautiful, her short golden hair glowing in the city lights her iridescent eyes shinning in the darkness.

He reached towards her wings his hand hovering a few inches from it a faint blue glow coming from it.

Amaya jumped when she felt something warm spreading through her tingling her wing. She whirled around wincing from the pain to find a pair of ice blue eyes watching her. She backed up so that she was hidden in the shadows only her eyes and part of her lower half showing

"What were you doing?" she asked the tenshi

" Trying to help you." The tenshi replied

Amaya only inched farther into the darkness, keeping her eyes trained on him the whole time. Without saying anything else she spread her wings and leapt off the building and headed to where she felt Ryuu sei's ki and her master.

Yue followed close behind her, watching her struggling to stay aloft. He could see she was in pain but for some reason she would not let him near her to help.

Sakura and the other's had made it to the Kinomoto residence and were thankful that no one was home yet. She wasn't sure how to explain this to her father and she was sure Touya would be a little upset to see this many people in the house.

"Hey where's Yue and Amaya?" asked Meiling

Ryuu sei glanced up to the moon it was completely dark only the stars lighting up the night sky. It would be like this for a week at least maybe more.

" They are coming." Ryuu sei said as she turned back towards the others

Keroberous had changed back into his stuffed animal form and was now hovering above Ryuu sei. She looked up at him questionably wondering what he was up to.

"So you're the Guardian of Earth. I'm a Guardian of the Sun."

Ryuu sei just stood up and walked away to sit next to her master. The young boy was patching up his cuts, as was Meiling. Sakura had left and came back in carrying a tray of food and drinks.

When they had finished patching themselves up and everyone was seated Li turned towards Ryuu sei.

"How is it that I am your master? I do not even know you nor do I remember you."

"Let me start from the beginning then." She said as she stood up and walked over towards the window and gazed out it.

" Magick is a dangerous power and only certain people posses the knowledge and skill to master it. You two have that knowledge and skill."

Sakura and Li looked at each other for a moment before turning back towards the guardian.

"However with out any set rules or order some wizards and other magick users got out of control and began to misuse that knowledge and skill. It was a very unpleasant time, so one among them rose up and used his power to seal the magick away and bring order to the world. He grew very strong over the years and every time he left this world he would come back stronger than ever."

Ryuu sei glances over at Li before turning back to the window.

" He created us to help keep the balance and make sure the seal was never broken. He used the magic of the Earth and Heavens to create us and we have served him over the centuries. It wasn't until recently that we found out he was given the body of a young boy."

"But if you served him for centuries then why didn't you come to him before now." Meiling asked

" Because he is also a descendant of Clow Reed, which made it difficult to be sure it was really our master. If he was not and we approached him earlier things may not have worked out like they have. Only after watching him did I accept that he was our true master."

They watched as she turned around and walked back towards Li and stood beside him.

Amaya stopped above a yellow house and floated down where she landed less than gracefully on the grass. Yue landed behind her watching her struggle to stand still favoring her side.

She looked in the window to see they were talking but she didn't want to go in like this where everyone could see her so instead she made her way to the roof where she sat down and gazed up at the heavens.

Yue looked at her for a second debating with himself before he went inside to his master.

They turned when Yue came in and Sakura smiled and hugged him glad his was fine.

"Where's Amaya?" Ryuu sei asked

His only response was to look up. The earth guardian looked at Li before turning back towards the window.

`So she still will not show herself. Afraid of Angles like always.'

"So now that your back with your master what are you going to do?" Sakura asked

" We must first stop Gohi. Now that he has gotten out he will try to break the seal and destroy you."

"What did he mean when he said I would die this time." Li asked looking at the cat

"Until you have full reign over your powers you are nothing more than and ordinary human so you can die very easily. Unlike the other times when you left us you did so to keep the seal strong and renew your power."

"Who is this Gohi person."

Ryuu sei turned towards Yue then glanced up at the ceiling.

" Gohi was one of the Magick keepers that wished for the seal to be broken so he could have unlimited power. Our master fought against him and won sealing up his magick and soul. You released his magick tonight."

She said as she turned towards Sakura.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to I was trying to help Li."

"Yeah maybe if you would have come to us sooner than we would have known." Said Kero

Ryuu sei turned her gaze on him then back to Sakura.

"If you wanted to help him you should have let him be."

"But the tree was pulling him in, he was disappearing." She said almost crying

"And who said that was going to hurt him?"

"But-"

"Did you ever think maybe he wanted the tree to pull him in so he could destroy from the inside out?"

Sakura and Meiling looked towards Li he wasn't looking at them he wasn't even paying attention to them instead he was looking up at the ceiling.

"Li?"

Meiling walked towards her cousin and placed a hand on his shoulder. He glanced at her for a moment before getting up. Without saying anything he walked out of the room and front door leaving two very distressed girls and one curious guardian.

Ryuu sei just glanced at Yue before walking out the door.
