Card Captor Sakura Fan Fiction ❯ Dark side of the moon ❯ Chapter 10

Yue stood there his gaze fixed on the spot where Amaya had been. He could feel the rage swelling up inside him. His cold ice blue eyes drifted towards the black figure.

It was at the moment trying to destroy his mistress and the young boy, this only added to his already building rage. If one were watching the night sky at that moment they would have noticed the moon waning and the stars fading.

Keroberous and Ryuu sei panted heavily as they lunged to protect their masters from the onslaught of black vines and inky blobs but with the figure sucking their magick it was getting harder to move and fight.

Sakura raised her staff ready to help out with her Star cards when Li stopped her.

"No. If he gets your magick no telling how strong he'll be. Then we'll never be able to stop him."

" How can we fight if we can't use our magick?"

Li just smirked and walked in front of her slicing the vines that had made their way past the two guardian beasts. He struck out at every vine that came towards Sakura.

He had just finished off the last attack when another came this time along with a few of those inky blobs. They bounced and slithered past Li and headed straight towards Sakura. He couldn't move fast enough the blobs began to latch on to her legs.

She tried to beat them off with her wand but it was no use they were sticking to that too. She screamed just as one began to engulf her body, however it was short lived because a blinding blue light streaked towards her and destroyed everything around her.

The vines and blobs disintegrating in a matter of seconds, the dark figured howled out in pain and glared up at the one who had caused it. He scowled then grinned his eyes glowing an eerie purple.

"Moon guardian. You seem a little upset about something, I wonder it wouldn't have anything to do with me destroying that girl now would it?"

His response was to have a million tiny blue shards fly towards him and rip through his body.

"Hit a nerve?"

Yue's eyes narrowed and he launched himself forwards his left hand glowing and crackling with energy. Dodging the vines that were launched at him he arched his arm and sliced the figure across the chest.

Sakura and the others watched as the dark figure began to slowly fade away his angry screams ringing through out the night.

Sakura turned away from the window and glanced around the room. Kero and Ryuu sei were sleeping on the sofa together while Li was. Her eyes snapped opened and she looked around the room again. Li was gone!

She moved to stand up when a hand stopped her; she glanced over her shoulder to see Li standing behind her holding a tray with two cups on it. She sighed and sunk back down to the floor wrapping the blanket more securely around her.

"Do you think we destroyed Gohi?"

Li glanced over at her for a moment he didn't answer her but looked down into his cup his eyes taking on a thoughtful look. She was so used to the silence that she jumped when he spoke.

"No. I know he's out there somewhere. Its just a matter of time and a question of where he's going to strike next."

"Oh."

Her shoulders slummed and she put her tea down she really didn't feel like any. She was certain that blow Yue had delivered had destroyed him but Li was right, they had to get both halves and destroy them or trap them like before. But she wasn't sure how to do that or how to find the other half. She could feel the hopelessness of the situation and it wasn't a nice feeling.

"Do you-Do you think that Yue will be all right?"

"Don't worry Sakura I have a feeling he'll be fine."

"But how do you know?"

She turned her face up to look at Li who was surprisingly close to her. She blushed deeply at the close proximity. He turned away from her and out the window his gaze resting on the moon and star filled sky above them.

She sighed and bowed her head. After a few seconds she felt a pair of arms wrap around her and pull her up against a warm body.

"I know. Now get some rest you had a hard day."

She blushed as the whispered words fanned against her face but soon she began to feel sleepy and her eyes began to droop close. Li shifted her in his arms before he too fell asleep.

Kero smirked before closing his eye again and snuggling closer to Ryuu sei.

Yue floated a few feet above the Tokyo tower his eyes locked on the moon but not really seeing it. He knew that his counterpart Yukito was suffering too, he could feel it.

He sighed and stood up spreading his wings back he needed to get back to his mistress no matter what happened to him he knew she needed protecting.

"Yue…"

He stopped his head whipping around trying to locate the voice that had called him. But there was nothing but darkness.

"Yue…"

"Amaya?"

He rose up off the tower and floated around his eyes scanning everywhere hoping to find her. His eyes stopped on a shadowed figure standing on the building across from him. His heart stopped for a second then began to pound wildly in his chest.

He flew towards the figure stopping to hover only a few feet away, he was still unable to see the figure completely but he knew it was her.

Amaya stepped out of the shadows and grinned at him her green gold eyes sparkling in the moonlight.

"Miss me?" she asked laughter in her voice

With out wasting anytime he closed the distance and scooped her up in his arms. She blushed madly at the action but soon realized he wasn't going to let her go anytime soon so she relaxed.

"I'll take that as a yes."

"Amaya…"

She looked up to find intense blue eyes staring down at her causing the blush to return full force. She would have pulled away but her eyes were trapped by his ice blue ones and she couldn't find the energy to move.

She watched him bend his head and move closer to her, she felt her eyes close and warm lips press up against hers. Her arms wrapped around his neck and she tilted her head back deepening the kiss.

Yue pulled her closer so she was flush with his body, his hands roaming over her back and in her hair. She was very addicting, he couldn't get enough of her but eventually they broke apart.

Her eyes were slightly glazed over her desire shining brightly in them causing him to growl before capturing her lips again.
