Disclaimer: I do not own Card Captor Sakura nor do I claim to so there.

Foxtails: GCSE choices were hell, I had like a French teacher and a Latin teacher stalking me about taking their subjects…ugh, thank goodness I'm not a clever person, all the clever people in my class had like five teachers after them.

Oh yes, and Tomoyo is not stupid in the fic, it's all part of my evil plot.

False Face, Hidden Heart: Chapter Four

Eriol groaned as he was shaken roughly from his for-once-nightmare-less slumber. Groggily he opened his yes to glare at the person to intrude on his sleep, then realised he couldn't aim his look of doom without his glasses.

After groping around for his glasses and slipping them on he turned to glare at whoever it was, and came nose to nose with Tomoyo who was smiling brightly. He flushed as he felt a flutter in his chest and backed away as much as humanly possible whilst being tangled in sheets with a wall behind him.

'What do you want?'

He irritable snapped once he deemed he was far away enough from the nurse. She pointed to his window which she had thrown open. He turned his glare to the light and noticed layer upon layer of glistening snow.

'You're going out for exercise with me.'

Tomoyo informed him.

'In that weather? I deign to agree.'

'All my patients are doing it, including you Hiiragazawa.'

'But--'

He was cut off by a blast of cold air which blew in just as Tomoyo had yanked the blanket away from him. He shivered.

'Now Hiiragazawa.'

Tomoyo pointed to the bathroom door. Eriol scowled at her but obediently rolled out of the bed and stalked across to the bathroom, he then took great amusement in slamming the door hard just to show his displeasure.

'How did you get me into this again, Daidouji?'

Eriol asked scathingly, using Tomoyo's surname to show his level of enjoyment of being woken up at literally the butt-crack of dawn and dragged into the cold. He was standing next to Tomoyo on the hospital veranda, bundled up in as many layers as he could get on, watching kiddies play and the adults walking around blissfully in the snow.

Tomoyo turned to him violet eyes slightly incredulous,

'Surely you like snow Eriol.'

'No.'

Tomoyo sighed then grinned mischievously. Bending down she scooped up a handful snow and deftly shaped it into a ball before throwing it at Eriol. It hit him smack in the back.

Eriol turned and blinked at her looking adorably confused with snow all over his face and clinging to his lashes. He then scowled and glared at her for the umpth time in two hours,

'Daidouji…'

He hissed warningly. Then before she had so much time as to turn and run, Eriol had hit her with a fistful of snow down the back of her neck and run off down the pathway into the maze of bushes.

She ran after him half-yelling, half laughing and trying to breathe at the same time.

Eriol darted through the maze of greenery smirking triumphantly to himself. Twisting and turning expertly through the blur of bushes he skidded behind a tree without so much as even slipping.

Leaning back on the tree he breathed heavily trying to regain his breath. He hadn't exercised in a long time. Eriol smiled faintly, before he had been sent to hospital he used to be a good runner. He remembered when he was younger, racing friends and swimming on weekends.

Then remembering his situation now his grin dropped again. He pushed off the tree and glared ahead into space, watching the whiteness of his breath on the cold air.

And that was how Tomoyo found him.

~~~~~~~~~~
Sighing, Tomoyo pushed her papers way from her. Finished for tonight. She sighed happily as she homed in on her coffee mug and took a grateful sip. Glancing at her watch she groaned and stretched, pushing out of her chair.
It was 11PM.
Around the time when Eriol's nightmares tended to start, she had spent the last few days sleeping in the chair in Eriol's room to make sure he slept. And though it gave her one hell of a sore back in the morning, it was better than watching him pace around exhausted like a zombie.
Walking tiredly down the corridor she thought back to the afternoon's events.
She had found Eriol way before he thought she had. But he had looked so happy she had quietly remained hovering near the bushes not eager to break his mood. Then he had glared again and looked bitter, that was when she decided to interrupt.
Eriol was undoubtedly one of her most challenging cases yet. Not the worst but far, just challenging. She sensed he was trying to manipulate her in someway, and that alone had given her the clue to Eriol's sanity.
She was almost positive there was nothing 'insane' about the male. He just seemed troubled. Tomoyo smiled faintly, Eriol may be trying to take advantage of her, but she had her own tricks up her sleeve. But she wouldn't make her move till Eriol had.
She wasn't stupid. But she needed more clues, more time. She would win this game Eriol had set.
Tomoyo turned the corridor just in time to hear Eriol's first cries.
