Card Captor Sakura Fan Fiction ❯ Harper ❯ Harper ( One-Shot )
"I'm no Superman!" I sang from her perch on the tree. The willow's branches hung around me like a curtain, shielding me from the outside world. The leaves draped, an endless rain that reached the foot of the tree, which towered a hearty 10 feet into the air. Well, ten feet was as high as the branch I was on. The wind beautifully tousled the whip like drapes of the tree.
The willow had been there for ages, in front of the Taylor's Mansion. It was there when they built the magnificent house, the pride of Reedington. It remained there to it's glory and utmost beauty. They called it the Harper. They had no reason, it was just a name for fun, a name they picked that suited it's magnificent size. Nobody knew really how old it stood, but it was a pretty magnificent tree before the mansion completed construction.
The thin branches flurried past my doll like pale face, which contrasted nicely with my violet hair that reached past my hips. It too swirled about me, barely held back by the headband I'd placed cautiously earlier in the day. I swung my legs, watching the leaves fall below me.
It was fall and the leaves were loosing their secretive sheet. It was almost sad, I thought, placing a hand on the thick trunk of the old tree.
"But you won't let me down Harper," I replied to the creaky silence of the whistling wind, smiling gently. But cries from below me caught my attention. I looked down and spotted Sakura and Li waving to me excitingly, jumping and throwing their arms up like mad.
They were up the tree in a flash seated next to me. Li was in the middle, his own head hung low but a hidden grin dancing on his lips. Sakura sat opposite of me, babbling to me as if Li wasn't there. I would nod and smile in understanding, but couldn't help but notice Li's partly sulky mood.
"A lot has changed over the summer," he replied quietly to Sakura's babbling about how the summer was a total waste of time. She fell silent, we both gazed at him curiously. I was the first to drop my eyes and look forwards at my feet, dangling next to Li's. A lot HAD changed over the summer.
First it was Sakura and Li. They'd finally gotten together officially, Li escaping China to be with her, out of the clutches of his mother. They'd gone all the way several times and had bragged about it too, which angered me a bit. Me and Li had a small thing going on also. I could only feel Sakura's eyes burning into my cheek before dropping her own gaze too.
"I won't be gone for long," she said, smiling and holding Li's hands in her own, kissing his cheek softly, "Just a small trip to Bangkok, I'll be back by next week don't you worry." She hugged us both before heading to the plane. I smiled and waved as we both turned on our heel to leave the terminal. The stench of airplanes, coffee and throw up. Not a good smell.
I turned to look at Li and smile, trying to cheer him up. A week without Sakura. A week without sex. Poor kid. I patted his shoulder.
"It'll be ok. It's just one week. How about you come over and we hang out?"
Yawning, I sat up and stretched my arms. I was on the velvet couch in my living room. My parents had gone out for the weekend, so the house was to me. My legs were sore. I stroked Li's hair as I got up and searched for my panties on the floor, discarded in the flurry of passion.
I hadn't meant to seduce Li. It just sort of happened. We were eating chips and watching a movie, laughing together. Then one thing led to another. Who would've thought shoving a chip down your shirt could get it off of you?
I slid my panties up and winced. So sore. So this is what Sakura felt like when it was her first time. I turned to look at Li and couldn't help a small smile. He was so cute when he was asleep. I slipped the robe over my shivering body and stepped into the kitchen.
I heard him walk in behind me, his groaning evident. I sighed and slid my finger along the outside rim of my glass of milk. It made a small whistle sound that you could barely hear. I felt him wrap his arms around me and nuzzle my neck.
"Good morning," he murmured sleepily. I blinked slowly and lightly pulled away from him. "What's wrong?" He sat in the stool next to me and watched me, his hand resting on my thigh.
"Li this shouldn't have happened."
"So you don't appreciate it."
"Not anymore." I shivered and pulled my robe around me. He got up and slipped his hand inside, caressing my boob gently. I moaned softly.
"I say I cheer you up."
The phone rang. Once. Twice. My foot must've knocked it off hook without knowing during the love making. It clattered against the end table.
"Hello? Hello? Madison? It's me Sak-," she stopped as she heard the groans and cries.
"Oh Li!"
"You like that Madison don't you?"
Another scream of pleasure rippled through my body. Another laugh from Li. Another cry of ecstasy as our orgasms hit at the same time. I collapsed on top of him, my breath just about gone. It was then we heard it.
Sakura sobbing, then the click of a reciever.
The branches swirled around us. We all sat in silence. That was just this summer. Sakura and Li broke up. Li and I never got together, we regret it and kept apart for a month. It took forever to console Sakura after the break up. We only stared down at the ground below, the dizzying heights fazing us.
"Well, the summer's over," Li murmured, breaking the silence.
"Yea."
"School's gonna start again." My last words hung in the air like a windchime, sort of musical. But not quite. I looked straight ahead now, while everyone took interest in the ground. I caught the sun setting through the rare break in the branches, seeing the purples and reds and oranges.
"College," I said finally. We all looked at each other, smiling. We were friends again. That would never break. The tree waved in the wind, our hair ruffled in the breeze. Harper stood proud in my front lawn, in the setting sun, waiting for another reminiscence day to come to it's old branches.
