Harry Potter and Two New Friends

Chapter One

A mysterious girl in a strange outfit smiles, a sort of little half smile. It's not menacing, more . . . inviting. Wings appear on the girl's shoes and she jumps, almost flies.

Harry Potter woke up at 4:30 a.m., startled at the dream he just had. He couldn't go back to sleep. He got up and pulled his clothes on. Walking over to the calendar, he saw there was one week left till school started. Hedwig came back from her nightly flight with a strange, oddly thick letter in her beak. She dropped on the bed.

"This must be my Hogwarts letter, but why is it so bulgy?" He opened it, and dumped the contents out on the bed. There were two letters and two odd-looking keys. He looked at his regular letter first. It was in the usual format with a list of supplies. Next he looked at the other letter. It read:

Dear Harry,

On the date of August 25th, two exchange students will be coming to stay at your house.

August 25th? Walking over to the calendar, he saw that today was the 25th. He picked up his room and continued to read the letter.

Please welcome them with open arms. They are both Japanese, so I except you would need to get used to that.

Sakura woke up to the beeping of her alarm clock. She sprang out of bed and got ready for school. Running downstairs, she slammed write into Toya.

"Little monster," he muttered.

"Sorry, big brother," Sakura said, then ate her breakfast very, very, very fast.

"Hey, Sakura, wait," called Fujitaka. Startled, she spun around. He held two airplane tickets. "You are going on a long plane trip to a magic school in England called Hogwarts. First class."

"But I can't leave Tomoyo!"

"Run. Grab her."

Sakura was back in about two seconds. Fujitaka drove them to the airport.

"Good luck you two, see you in a long time!" He called.

The plane arrived. They went to the address they were sent to. Sakura rang the doorbell. Aunt Petunia answered it. She let the two girls in and hollered to Harry, who came down the stairs.

"Hello, d'you want to come up to my room?" he asked. They nodded.

"Show me how you use your magic, Sakura!" demanded Harry as soon as they were in his room. She grabbed the key around her neck, did the little chant, and grabbed the staff.

"Wow." He said, "Tomorrow we will get your supplies."

"Hai." (Yes in Japanese.)

The girls slept on comfy mattresses on the floor. They all fell asleep almost immediately.
