Tomoyo Daidouji, the only daughter of Sonomi Daidouji, had been rejected by Eriol Hiragizawa. After confessing to him just hours ago, he just left her there, crying her eyes out. After being rejected by Sakura Kinomoto months ago, she had been rejected again. She had run to the park and sat on one of the swings.
"Why? Why do they have to reject me? Why is love so cruel?" she asked herself, tears streaming down her face. "First Sakura, and now Eriol, why?"
"I'm sure there's a pretty good reason why you were rejected"
Tomoyo looked up to see Yue, Sakura's moon guardian, looking at her with eyes that are full of concern. He similed slightly and handed her a white handkerchief that he produced from his pocket. She took it gratefully and wiped her tears. Yue sat on the swing next to hers and looked at her.
After a while he said, "I know how you feel, being rejected by the person you love. It happened to me. Me and Clow." Tomoyo looked at him with curiousity. She never knew that Yue had fallen in-love before. Especially to Clow. "He rejected my feelings," he continued. "I'm just a friend to him. Nothing more." And what Tomoyo saw next, she did not expect. Yue cried. He actually cried!
"Yue! Please don't cry. Here," Tomoyo handed him the handkerchief he had given her earlier, but we wouldn't take it. She stood up and kneeled in front of him. She wiped his tears for him. When she was about to withdraw her hand, Yue held it and to Tomoyo's surprise, kissed it! Tomoyo was shock but surprisingly, she didn't want to remove her hand from his lips. She didn't know why, but something is stopping her. Maybe it's the warmth of Yue's skin on her lips. Could be. Or something else. Something she is meant to feel.
"Yue..." she whispered. Yue looked up at her, removed his lips from her hand and said, "I-I'm sorry, I... I... I didn't meant to-"
He was cut by Tomoyo who place her index finger on his lips. She smiled at him and said, "It's alright." They both stood up, facing each other.
This feeling... I only felt this twice. It was with Sakura and Eriol. But now, with Yue... why am I feeling like this? Tomoyo asked herself. She blushed slightly and looked down at the ground as if it's the most interesting thing in the world. When she looked up again, Yue's face was inches across hers. Tomoyo held her breath. Yue finally closed the gap in between them. Tomoyo felt the warmness of his lips against hers. They only stopped for air.
"I-I'm sorry again. I didn't know what came over me," Yue apologized.
"There's nothing wrong Yue. I... I needed that after a broken heart myself," Tomoyo answered. She smiled slightly. Yue smiled back and spread his wings. He held his hand out to Tomoyo. "Come. I'll take you for a ride."
"What if we'll be seen?" Tomoyo asked hesitantly.
"It's already nighttime. Don't worry. I won't fly to high or to low," Yue encouraged. Tomoyo paused before taking his hand. Yue place one arm under her legs and the other arm supporting her back while she wrapped her arms around his neck. Yue started to flap his wings and before she knew it, thay were flying above Tomoeda. She can see the moon and the stars. She giggled softly and pointed the park, the shrne and some of the houses like a little child. Yue just smiled at her, contended that she's happy.
After hours of flying, they went back to the park and sat on one of the benches. After a while, Tomoyo laid her head on Yue's shoulder. "Thank you Yue. For making me happy." Yue smiled and said, "It's nothing Tomoyo. I couldn't bear to see you unhappy. It's because I-"
Tomoyo lifted her head. "Because why Yue?" she asked, curious. Yue took a deep breath before saying, "It's because I fell in love with you Tomoyo." She did not expect the response. And, she did not expect what she said next. "I love you too Yue!" she blurted out. Why do I have to say it out loud?
She looked up to see the moon guardian standing and pulling Tomoyo to her feet. He then pressed his lips against hers. She was surprised by this sudden gesture but responded without hesitation. When they finally broke apart, both blushed a deep scarlet. "I guess I should be going home now," Tomoyo sais still red. "Goodnight Yue. And thank you for everything." She waved and started to walk away. When she was nearing the exit. Yue called her.
"What is it?" she asked, turning around.
"Do you want to meet her tomorrow night at 7?" Yue asked.
Tomoyo smiled and said, "Sure." Tomoyo continued to walk away, a smile forming on her lips. When she entered the park, she was very unhappy and very close to tears. When she exited the park, a smile is found on her face and she's near to screaming with happiness. "The things love can do," she whispered to herself.
