Chapter Two: Last Noise

~*~In the Home of Meiko and Sakura Kinomoto~*~

"Meiko, I got a call from your Tae-Kwon Do instructor that you have a match this Saturday. How come you didn't tell me earlier?" Sakura told Meiko as Meiko came home school.

"I-I knew you were gonna be busy…so I never mentioned it. You have work…" Meiko tried to explain.

"I do have two articles to do… but I should have time for you too…" Sakura looked through her personal organizer.

"Great!" Meiko. "Thanks! It's starts at 6:00pm on Saturday at Millerton."

Sakura smiled. "I know."

~*~5:30pm on Saturday: Kinomoto household~*~

Sakura was taking a nap.

"Mom? Mom! Wake up! It's 5:30pm!" Meiko rushed into Sakura's room, fully dressed in her Tae-Kwon Do outfit.

"Hmm? Nani?" Sakura mumbled.

"MY MATCH STARTS IN HALF AN HOUR!" Meiko screamed.

"Meiko Kinomoto! Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" Sakura frantically jumped out of bed and changed.

"I dunno!"

"Well, that was a bad answer!" Sakura said through clenched teeth.

They were out the door and on the road in two minutes.

"Dammit! There's traffic!" Sakura cursed.

"Mom!" Meiko said, pretending to be shocked. "No bad words!"

"Millerton is very far, Meiko! This is your Tae-Kwon Do match!!" Sakura said angrily.

"Gomen nasai," Meiko muttered.

It was turning dark.

"At every stoplight turns red when we get to it!" Sakura complained. (A/N: Has that ever happened when someone drives you around? ^_^)

"We're ten minutes late! Hurry Mom!" shrieked Meiko.

"Meiko, stop that! I'm driving the speed limit!" Sakura said through clenched teeth.

They just made it past the green light. The second one was green then abruptly turned yellow. Sakura was getting nearer to it… she was driving the speed limit!

"Mom! It's a red light!" Meiko shrieked.

Sakura stepped on the brakes abruptly but it was too late. The car smashed into a truck that was passing by.

Sakura looked over at her daughter's limp body which was seated next to her… the large cut on her body, which was bleeding heavily…

Those were the things Sakura could only remember as she fell unconscious, not knowing if her or Meiko would ever see the light of day ever again.
