Chapter 1: Introduction
Hi! The name's Mina! I'm the goddess of love and beauty and I simply adore all anime
guys! I don't own any of the characters so don't sue me! Well.. except for myself Mina. No,
I'm not the Sailor Venus. I'm her daughter. The brown head. I really don't exist on the show
so I'm not a copyright girl. He. he. I have been through multiple worlds and let me tell
you. This world is the best, I think. Have a problem with this story? Then don't read it.
Its a love romance about me and a guy named Li Showron.
So here goes.
A quiet afternoon Mina sat by the school. Her outfit was the regular school uniform.
She stared blankly at the sky. Sakura commented on something but she couldn't really hear.
Mina sighed a mushroom cloud and looked at Li and Eli. Li was glaring sideways at Eli.
Eli stared at Sakura smiling to himself. Eli and Li like Sakura, Mina thought.
Then Eli turned to her and Mina blinked. Maybe not. Li turned to look at Mina and his face
turned red. Or maybe is it that they just compete with each other for every girl. Jerks.
Mina smiled and stood up.
"Going somewhere?" Li asked.
"Of course." Mina replied.
"Can I come?" Li asked again.
Mina was about to say no when Eli bumped in.
"Me and Sakura were thinking about going to the park." Eli remarked. "Want to come?"
"No thanks." Mina said and smiled again. "I was thinking about going to the toy
store."
"Oh." Meilin replied blankly "Well I'm going with Eli and Sakura." She likes Eli,
Mina thought again. Great.
Li hopped up "Can I come with you Mina?"
"I guess. It couldn't hurt." Mina nodded.
Boy was I wrong.
Sakura and Meilin giggled together walking towards the park. Eli smiled to himself.
Everything was going according to the plan. He stared at the Sakura book in Sakura's
backpack. The time was ripe his mind said. He raised his hand and then the Sakura book flew
out and the star cards burst free of the book and flew out everywhere.
"Oh No!" Sakura exclaimed. The book flew away too. The cards. The book. Was all gone.
Madison ran towards them "Don't tell me I just saw what I thought I saw."
Meilin looked shocked "What will happen to the cards Avalon?"
Sakura breathed "Its alright. The cards will have to find a new master I guess."
Eli smiled to himself. Sure they will have to. I just know you will pick the right
one soon.
Mina and Li walked down the streets to the toy store. A gust of wind blew by them.
Mina blinked and couldn't believe what she saw. The whole world was double! The Twin Card
was doing this.
Li leaped back "Oh man. This isn't good. Where is Sakura?" Right when Mina was about
to reply a giant flood came close. The Watery Card!
Mina gasped and Li grabbed her arm "We got to get out of here!" He cried.
"But the cards!" Mina gasped
"We don't have the time.............." Li said but his words slowed down. No. It
wasn't just his words. It was the world. Everything was going slow.
Mina tried to say "The Time Card" but everything went backwards and Mina and Li knew
this was bad.
"What are we going to do? Lightning struck at them. Thunder Card Mina thought and
Mina jumped backwards and hit against a cute girl in puff pants.
Except. That girl pushed her and nearly broke Mina's bones. The Power Card.
Li helped Mina up.
"We got to get out of here." Li repeated.
This time, Mina agreed.
Kero and Yui looked up and saw a lot happening downtown. They both nodded and flew
over there.
Sakura and Meilin stared at the sky. Thunderclouds were appearing over the city
and lightning was sprouting.
"You may not be the cards master but we still got to help!" Meilin cried out.
Madison gaped. "Didn't Li and Mina go downtown?"
Sakura looked up and a glint hit her eye. "The new master has risen. And Mina is
taking the chance."
Eli smiled distantly. Mina would be an excellent master. They rushed downtown except
for Eli.
Mina and Li were running away from the disaster but it seemed to be centering on
them. A burst of snow hit them and Mina cried out "Snow Card!" The ground shock and trees
sprouted around them! Wood Card. A Earthquake like shock around and a cliff appeared out of
no where. Earthy Card.
Sakura and Madison ran to the scene. "Mina!!"
Meilin shrieked. "Are you guys okay?"
Li looked bruised and he shouted "Get us down Avalon! We have been up here long
enough and I'm ready to yell at you for letting the cards free again!"
Mina turned her head towards the Fight Card as it ran up to kick Li in the face.
"Oh Key of the Stars...
with power glowing bright...
surrender the wand...
the force ignite!
RELEASE!" Sakura chanted
Nothing happened. The Key in her hand lay lifeless.
"No" Li shouted.
Sakura dropped to the ground and stared at the key. The key began to disappear.
Yui and Kero flew in and they saw Sakura laying lifeless on the ground. Madison grew tears
in her eyes to see her friend lie there without movement.
Meilin moaned looking at Sakura. Her rival beaten by the weather. The shock.
The terror. Sakura began to disappear like the key. Yui and Kero twirled around
disappearing. Li and Mina looked in shock. The Cards in their true forms disappeared and
all that remained was a book floating in the sky. Without a sound it disappeared too.
Moments went by as Li, Madison, Meilin, and Mina stared in the air where the book
had once flown. They saw all the destruction around them and made a sigh of sadness. What
seemed to be a normal day wasn't normal at all.
Eli stood behind a brick wall and waved his hands around. Mina looked pale and she
passed out.
Meilin and Madison went home together without saying a word. Before they could they
walked past Sakura's house. Tory and her father stood outside calling for Sakura. Madison
looked sorry at the dad and walked over with Meilin.
"Have you seen Sakura?" Her father asked.
"Where's my little sister?" Tory questioned.
Meilin and Madison took a deep breath.
"Well we all went to the park this afternoon and then we went to the toy store..."
Meilin said but was interrupted.
"Sakura was downtown today?" Tory exclaimed.
"Oh no. Sakura." Her father moaned.
"We heard it on TV...you see..." Tory said telling his story.
Mina was floating in a dream. Sakura was talking to her. Mina couldn't understand
what Sakura was saying but Sakura was handing her a glowing heart, with a key like end to
it. It was a necklace and Sakura smiled when Mina put it on. The dream began to fade.
Mina woke up with a start. This wasn't her room. Mina turned left then right and
saw a sword leaned against a chair. She saw a school hat and saw books and a backpack
laying on
a desk. Mina relaxed against the pillow and blinked at the smell. It was the smell of Li's
hair on the pillow.
Mina touched her neck and realized there was a necklace around it. The dream could,
it, be real? Mina closed her eyes feeling the necklace. She ran her finger around a heart
shaped like crystal and smiled.
The door in the room opened and Mina looked over to see Li bringing in a large soup
bowl with ice water in a pitcher.
Li smiled. He sat it against a pop up table and pushed a chair and the table close
to the bed.
"Are you feeling better?" He asked politely.
"Yes." Mina said calmly. In her mind she shouted No! I have been through almost all
natural disasters in a 24 hour time period and now I'm in your bed!? Do you think I'm
feeling better?
Li poured some soup into two bowls. He poured two glasses of water. He didn't seem
to be looking at her eyes. He must miss Sakura, Mina thought.
"You should try some of this soup. Its supposed to be good for you when your tired,
or feeling low." He smiled.
Mina sipped some of the soup and drank a bit of water. Li wasn't watching her thank
goodness. She hated people watching her eat. It often made her uncomfortable.
Li turned himself to look at her after he finished.
"Sleep here tonight. Your parents wont mind. They already heard about the recent
changes in weather. Plus school is canceled for the rest of the week because of all the
people who got injured and more so Sakura's death.
"What about Julian." Mina looked at Li.
He blushed mainly because she looked at him "They probably wont notice his short
comings until school starts again and he doesn't return.
Mina laid back down but her eyes didn't leave him. "Where will you sleep?"
"I have a sleeping bag." Li remarked looking away.
Mina began to close her eyes and dreamed.
Eli looked in the floor where, like a crystal ball, he could see everywhere. He
smiled calmly as Ruby walked in.
"Master. Yui and Kerberos are finally gone. But so is Sakura. What will happen now
that they're gone?"
Eli looked annoyed "There is a new master of the cards to rise. But we shall make
challenges for her before she can get to the cards."
"Hmmm.." Ruby murmured.
Meilin went home to her parents and they sighed.
"WERE WHAT?!" Meilin shrieked
"Were moving again." Her father sighed
"Strange things happen here the minute we get here." Her mother implied.
"But we cant" Meilin begged "Mother! Li and the others need me. I need to help them
now that Sakura is gone. There is so much to do."
"There's no buts about it were moving." Both parents replied
Madison returned home where her parents and her wept for hours. The moaned for the
loss of Sakura. They moaned for the loss of others.
When Madison went to bed she grabbed her cassettes, costumes and pictures. They were
all she had left of the girl of fantasy. The girl who did almost the impossible.
When Li woke up to hear a phone ringing he soberly answered it
"Hello Li."
"Mother!" Li said shocked.
"I heard what has happened. I'm sorry." his mother said
"I have to stay here. The clow cards are lose again and now all of Reading ton is in
danger. I need to stay here. Can you understand thus mother? Its important!"
"Li, I was about to say the exact same thing. Stay there where you can get the cards
back rightfully. Do this and save the town. Come back home soon though. I miss you."
"Bye."
"Goodbye."
Li hung up and saw Mina yawn, tossing around.
Mina yawned again and opened her eyes waking up. "Li. Your awake already. Cool. Lets
go downtown and see if we can get the clow cards, Sakura, Yui, and Kero back!"
"Right" Li said nodding.
"Shouldn't we get Madison and Meilin first though?" Mina thought.
"Aw... I guess." Li said depressed.
Meilin answered the door and saw Li and Mina standing there.
"Li, were moving."
"Again?"
"Yes."
Li sighed bitterly and shook his head "Mina and I were going downtown but I guess
you cant come, can you?"
"Nope."
"Were so sorry!" Mina imputed
"Its alright. Bye you two." Meilin sobbed closing the door.
Mina and Li walked silently to Madison's house.
Madison ran to them with her camera and 3 costumes of her favorite.
"Mina do me a favor." Madison said quickly.
"Sure." Mina said nodding.
"Could you put one of these on?" Madison asked pleadingly.
"okay!" Mina touched a red one. One of Sakura's, Li's, and Madison's favorite. Li
was wearing already his normal Chinese green outfit looking away.
After Mina got dressed they walked downtown where police and citizens were walking
around dazed and frightened.
Among them was Sakura's father and Tory. Mina, Li, and Madison drew back. Mina
didn't think that they wanted to be disturbed.
They wandered over to the police.
"Have you seen a book with the name Sakura on it?" Li asked.
"Were looking for it to give to her father." Madison lied.
"Please tell us if you have seen it?" Mina mused.
"We will" said a police officer.
"Why don't you look over there in that pile where we have stacked all the book
items" another police ventured.
"Thank you!" Mina bowed.
Li walked over to Sakura's dad. "Did you come across a book with Sakura's name on
it by any chance. It was a photo album with a bunch of collector's cards in it also and
Madison wants to have it."
"If we see it we will give it to her." Her father nodded.
Tory scowled at Li and Li glared back.
Madison ran through all the books in the pile and shook her head.
Mina thought "Where did Sakura first find the book?"
"In the basement of her house." Madison recalled.
"maybe.. its there!" Mina exclaimed.
"Good Idea." Li responded.
Mina and Madison approached Tory "Could you take us to your house. We think Sakura
may have put it in the basement in the library."
"Sure."
Li scowled and trailed behind Mina.
As they hopped into the car Tory adjusted the rear view window to Li. Mina sighed.
Tory and Li didn't like each other one bit.
When they got to the house Tory unlocked the doors and walked into the basement.
Tory and Madison waited in the kitchen and Mina and Li walked down the steps. Mina moved
her finger across every book and eyes locked on everyone of them.
Li searched the other side of the shelves. As Mina was near the end of the case her
finger ran across Sakura. She paused and said "Li.. look!"
Li ran over to her and stared at the book.
This is it. The Book. This is what we have been looking for.
Where's The Key?!
Mina groaned and Li sighed. They were so close yet so far. Li shook his head over
and over while they walked up the steps. The seal was tight on and a little keyhole showed
out from the book.
Madison looked in glee as Mina and Li brought the book up. But her eyes saddened
when she realized also what Li and Mina already knew.
"Li. I think I better go home." Mina sighed.
"Oh no! I'm going to be late" Madison cried out and ran out the door shouting.
"Call me later you two!"
Li looked weakly at Mina "Do you want me to walk you home. In case if you pass out
again, of course."
Mina nodded not feeling like arguing.
As they walked up to her driveway Mina noticed that the car wasn't parked there.
Mina frowned as she opened the door and found no one inside. Li followed her and Mina gasped
at the note on the table.
Dear Mina,
Your father and I are going to the store downtown. We will be back after
you get home from school. There is a sandwich on the table if your hungry.
Love Mom
Moments passed by and neither of them said a word. Mina looked on the counter and
saw the stale bread with her favorite ham between it. Mina tried to hold herself together
and tried not to cry when she suddenly broke down. Li grabbed her tight hugging her
reassuring her but all was in vain. Mina held tightly to his outfit as he walked her back
to his house.
Li eventually by the end of the day had moved all Mina's stuff into his room. Mina
didn't complain about the tight space there and he didn't complain about her in his room.
Li held on to the Sakura book.
That night before going to bed Mina looked at Li.
"Thank you Li. Thank you so much." She whispered.
"Its alright." Li reassured.
But really she knew it wasn't. She knew that too much was going on for the both of
them and this didn't help.
Meilin had moved away again. This time for good. She called Li on the phone telling
him everything was well there and his mom said hi.
Madison had put all the Card Captor cassettes on a single tape and had sent one to
Meilin, Li, and kept one for herself.
It was the beginning of the new school year. Mina and Li would always get there
early because Li always was early and Mina of course would have to follow behind him.
Mina sat in Sakura's old seat and the teacher said in grief all of the parents and
children that got injured. Li stared straight at the teacher.
During recess Mina leaned against the fence with Li.
"What should we do... with the book?" Mina pondered.
"I don't remember how she opened it." Li commented.
"Maybe you just touch it and it opens" Mina smiled.
"No." Li disagreed. "I already tried."
"Well I haven't!" Mina sparked a smile "Maybe I can open it!"
Eli from a distance smiled.
Li shrugged and handed Mina the book.
Mina ran her hand on it and whispered "Its so pretty.."
"Sakura Book." Mina said slowly and the latch opened.
Li leaped up.
"Hey look the cards!" Mina shouted with glee.
Eli raised his hand.
"Oh No!" Mina cried as the Windy Card began twirling the cards around in the air.
Li began to leap up trying to catch them but they grew out of his reach.
Then with a great flash all of the cards turned into their visible form and ran or
flickered away. All except Windy.
The Windy Card fell into Mina's hands and the book began glowing.
Kero popped out and yelled "Whoa.."
Mina waved to Kero cheerfully.
"Hey!" Kero smiled
"Where's Sakura... Where's Julian..." Mina blinked.
"Um.." Kero stated. "They're gone. Permanently. Yui is in a new form and Sakura is
with Clow Reed. Julian was just a used body. Not a real person."
Mina's smile faded. Li sighed. Kero looked at Mina curiously.
"YOU BROKE THE SEAL! YOUR THE NEW CARD CAPTOR MINA!"
"What?" Mina looked up.
"What?" Li said looking up
"Sakura choose you to be the new card captor. She knew you would be distained for it
because you already got the new staff key!"
"Wait a minute.. What Key?" Li looked at Mina and saw her necklace.
"Oh this?" Mina stated pulling on her necklace. "It appeared one day after this
strange dream."
"Exactly!" Kero smiled.
"Your The New Mistress!" Kero laughed as Li made a face.
Hi! The name's Mina! I'm the goddess of love and beauty and I simply adore all anime
