Chapter 7: Hanging by a thread

Sakura's POV:

I had just woken up. I looked at syaoran soundly admiring his face in the early morning light; he looked so peaceful and happy. I got up and stretched and shook off the morning dew from my coat. As I look back to the life I had once lived in, I wondered what had become of my friends form school and mostly whether Adrian was taking this well, from what I had heard he was going to ask me to marry him.

As I think back I knew I was already going to say no to him, even though it was nice of him to ask me, he was just something I wanted to hold on to because I was afraid I wouldn't find anyone else who felt anything for me. But then I met syaoran. He's everything I dreamed of since I was a little pup. I stroked fondly at his coat, he slightly mumbled and moved closer to my warmth. I smiled, I love him so much.

 

Adrian's POV:

I miss her so much. I wanted to share my life with her. I haven't been eating and I can tell my friends are worried for me. But they all have girlfriends and wives. I stay in my room all the time I never want to go to school and when I do I always go home because the teachers feel I have a disease or something.

I want to die; I've been coming to this forest, just about 7 miles away from the city. The trees seem to be trying to consul me, they shimmer in the wind and it seems to calm my fragmented mind.

One day I was walking through a thicket of trees and came across a pair of sleeping wolves curled around each other. They seem seem so peaceful together, I wish I had that right about now. Im feel so lonely.

The female had just woken up and I watch with a transfixed gaze feeling something tighten in my body, I looked down and I noticed my body was changing!

Soon pain came and I fell to my knees and cried in pain. My body felt like it was being torn apart.

 

Sakura's POV:

I heard a cry of what seemed like pain, I looked in the distance at the edge of the clearing near a thicket of tree and lone pines. I noticed the person on the ground and being the curious one I am; I went to help the human.

When I got there I noticed it was Adrian but he looked skinner and had dark circles under his eyes. I quickly transformed into my human form and helped him sit up. That's when I noticed that his lower body was changing into that of a wolf! I quickly assessed my situation. I had heard of humans having dormant wolves in them, but I never thought id actually get to look at one of the transformations since they were so rare. And here Adrian was transforming into his long dormant state of a wolf. With a cry of agony he transformed fully and lay still, hearing his pulse with my larger that human hearing I carried him toward syaoran who was still sleeping, the big lug.

I shook him awake he grumbled but opened an eye, quickly coming to full alert seeing an almost full grown male wolf in sakura's arms, being the brash newly mated wolf he growled at me. “Who's he and why are you carrying him!” he said glaring at the male in my arms. I quickly told him the story, including he was my ex but had no feeling for him other than friendship.

 

Meiling POV:

I had followed the faint smell trail left by sakura and syaoran, coming to dead stop smelling the mating smell. They had mated! She stole him from me! I felt my self grow angry and felt the transformation coming to affect. I quickly suppressed the urge to rip her to shreds. Then I notice her getting up, feeling the old anger coming on, seeing her pat her belly in self conciseness, I knew she was pregnant, I was female and I knew when other females were pregnant. Knowing this I subsided a little knowing more pups means more or us, but it didn't mean I liked her being the one carrying Syaoran's pups.

I saw sakura get up and walk fast to a ticket of trees, smelling another wolf in the vicinity, I quickly plotted my revenge.

She came back with the male in her arms, nudged syaoran awake, to my great joy he growled at her, I couldn't hear him but soon I growled seeing him stop and have a look of understanding on his face, he helped sakura drag the male towards the village.

 

Normal POV:

We had just gotten to the village with Adrian in our arms; to my luck syaoran had believed me and had helped me, reluctant though. Sakura and syaoran came to the village square and all of a sudden sakura was swept in a mass of people, hugging her and kissing her forehead, syaoran growled when the males hugged her, they backed off hearing him but stayed close any way. Sakura was dragged away but managed to call to syaoran to bring Adrian to the healer for her.

 

Sakura's POV:

I was dragged into the elder hut. All the males were absent, but the eldest female was there sitting serenely on her pillow in the middle of the room. When I entered she looked up and smiled at me when she took a whiff of my scent. I blushed seeing as the whole tribe could probably smell me and syaoran had mated.

She beckoned for me to sit next to her. I sat on the cushion that had magically appeared next to her. She smiled at me again and took my hand. Mine within her withered one seemed to bind a link between me and the whole female population in the room. I felt and hear each and everyone of their thoughts. They all felt happy and joyous.

I looked around and tried to listen harder and came to realize with a start I started to hear their thoughts.

One of the females said in a thought, that she and her family can rest at ease now that the tribe is going to populate again. I looked confused and dazed when the elder female took her hand out of mine. She smiled her wrinkled smile and spread her arms wide and said in a happy voice “the princess has finally mated with her beloved and has conceived!” joyous laughter broke out and the females all hugged and spread tears of joy.

I looked into the elders eyes and she seemed so appraising I didn't shout like I wanted to out of anger. So instead I just asked in a quiet whisper to her asking what was going on.

 

Normal POV:

“Why sakura! You're pregnant! You shall save us all!” sakura sat there in shock. All a sudden sakura had the urge to walk out side, to get her mind off things or at least calm down a little.

“I have to tell syaoran.” Sakura thought. “What if he doesn't want a child? What if he thinks im weak now!?”

Walking towards the healers hut she entered to fin syaoran there leaning against the wall waiting for her. Syaoran smiled and came over and kissed her on the lips and asked her if she was alright.

 

Syaoran's POV:

I had watched sakura get dragged away by the female elders as I got dragged away with the male elders. I was angry and fought against them when one of the elders explained they need to talk and sakura was going to be just fine.

I entered the hut and sat down again the wall while the elders and men filed looking happy and peaceful.

One of the elders were first to speak, I recognized him Hitachi, the eldest males of my tribe. He beckoned me over and took my hand. As soon as his withered one came into contact with my own younger one I was surprised to feel the thoughts and feeling all around me, all the men were happy, really happy, all expressing only a small magnitude on the outside compared to what their thoughts and feeling were expressing.

The elder let go of my hands and spread both of his arms wide and shouted in a load and orderly voice, “our prince and princess has mated and we are glad to hear from the females that they had conceived tonight and they shall save us all with this new litter of pups!” syaoran fell over in shock from the news. “SAKURA WAS PREGNANT!?” he yelled all the men laughed and clapped him in the shoulders congrating him on his new surprise.

After all the men filed out I leaned against the wall to support syaoran from falling over. “Im going to be a father? I can't wait to tell sakura I love her! She means everything to me, and now she has blessed me with a child? Im forever lucky to have her!” he thought.

Just then sakura walked in looking deep in her thoughts. “She must know now that she is going to have pups” syaoran thought. He got up and walked over to her and kissed her straight on the lips.

 

Normal POV:

Both syaoran and sakura was to into each other to notices the third person in the room transform back into his human form and start to wake up. They stopped and looked towards the now human Adrian.

 

 

Adrian's POV:

I slowly came into conciseness and looked over to my right sensing other people in the room. I noticed I could hear, see, taste, and feel so much more alive. Maybe these two people can help me and see what's wrong with me.

I looked into the face of my beloved sakura. She was near another male who was standing very intimately close to her. I heard my self growl, when did I start growling? Just then sakura came over. “How are you feeling Adrian?” she asked me. I croaked a feeble “fine” and she immediately went to get water from the well outside.

I was alone with the male in the small room I was resting in. Finally I asked him who he was. “I'm Syaoran Li, sakura's mate.” I stared back in shock which was slowly turning into rage. I attacked.
