Sakura caught sight of something glistening and immediately recognized it as the necklace that Sarah was so enamoured with. It was indeed a very pretty necklace and Sakura couldn't help the insane notion that it would look great on Sarah. Making sure no one was watching, the young girl deftly picked up the beautiful treasure and slipped it into her pocket. She would wait until she could talk to Sarah alone and then give the necklace to the author. Smiling in satisfaction, Sakura walked quickly to catch up with her friends.
????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Night Knife watched gleefully as the auburn haired girl played right into her plan.
'Yes...' she thought to herself. 'Yes, sweet girl...Give the present to Sarah...' NightKnife laughed evilly and continued to follow the group of five so as to make sure her plan worked. It wouldn't bode well for her if she managed to displease her dark master.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Syaoran didn't know why his beloved girlfriend was acting so suspiciously. Chris and Puck didn't notice because they didn't know Sakura as well as he did. Sarah didn't notice because she was too busy sulking over that stupid necklace. But he noticed. He noticed a lot. In fact, he noticed so well that he was worried sick for his loved one.
Chris was silently wondering why Sakura was acting so suspiciously. He knew Syaoran thought he wouldn't notice, but he did. Sarah was too busy sulking to keep him preoccupied and, therefore, his eyes were open to Sakura's peculiar behavior.
Puck couldn't help but think that humans were a strange lot--they couldn't even act suspiciously and still keep others from noticing! He rolled his eyes in silent frustration at this inability all humans seemed to possess.
Sarah's thoughts were angry. How dare they keep her from the pretty necklace?! All she'd wanted to do was try it on! The jerks! They just couldn't and wouldn't understand! Breifly, she thought to herself that Sakura was acting a little strangely but quickly dismissed it and returned to her mental venting.
NightKnife couldn't believe it! Sakura was being so obvious and no one even noticed! It was all working so perfectly!
Sakura was growing impatient. She needed to talk to Sarah alone so she could give the necklace to her! What was with all this walking around?! She couldn't help the growing frustration inside at the seeming impossibility of giving Sarah one little necklace!

The weary travellers finally stopped to find something to eat for lunch. Sakura stood up from where she had been sitting and got Sarah's attention.
"I need to talk to you in private," she told her. "It's important." Sarah sighed sulkingly and followed Sakura away from the others.
"This better be good," said a very sour Sarah. Sakura beamed.
"Remember that necklace you saw a while back?" At Sarah's nod, she continued. "Well, I found it." With that, she pulled the glistening necklace out of her pocket and presented it to Sarah. Just as Sarah was about to take it out of Sakura's hand, however, the others called them back saying that they had found edible food. The two girls sighed and sulkingly walked back to the group. The three males grimaced when they saw that Sakura was going to be just like Sarah for some unkown reason.
"Maybe it's that time of the month," muttered a very irrate Puck at the two girls' behavior. Chris and Syaoran sourly agreed. After they polished off lunch, Syaoran announced that it was time to get back to walking--that they'd rested long enough. Sakura and Sarah disagreed quite readily.
"But Sarah and I never got to finish talking!"
"And who knows when we'll get another chance?" But the guys were as unmoving as stone in their readiness to leave.
"We need to find our way out of this place! We only have nineteen days left and we need to spend each and every one accordingly!" they argued in perfect unison. Both Sarah and Sakura wondered if they'd practiced that beforehand before their thoughts turned back to the sour and bitter realization that they weren't going to be able to do anything with the necklace until their next rest. And who knew when that would be?!

Sarah stopped walking and put a hand to her forehead. What was wrong with her?! Since when did she react so strongly to a necklace?! Admittedly, it was a very beautiful necklace, but at the same time it was also distinctly evil. Sarah closed her eyes tight and waited for the strange sensations to disappear.
The others stopped and waited for Sarah to catch up. Why she had stopped walking was beyond them. Sakura, however, wished they could hurry up so she could give Sarah the necklace.
When Sarah opened her eyes, she saw the place they were in. One thing was for sure, the trees weren't the same as the others. Oh, no. These ones were white with red markings from the base to the middle of the tree. She instantly recognized the place from a dream she'd had.
"Guys? Um, I've seen this place before in a dream. It wasn't very pleasant." Now she had everyone's attention--including Sakura's. "In my dream, I had been looking for a flat place with my dad--I don't know why, though. Anyway, we were right next to a forest filled with these very trees and I saw a little girl and three boys playing on their branches. My dad told me to stay away from the forest and told me the trees were very evil. I forgot what he called them, though. I felt uneasy so I convinced him that we should go home. We left for the car by walking through a normal forest but the little girl and her three brothers followed us. The little girl tried to kill me and the boys neither helped nor stopped her.
"The stick she had was shaped like a wooden spoon but the round edge was as sharp as a razor." The others silently urged Sarah to continue. "Somehow, I got the stick away from the little girl. Then I guess they followed me home 'cause next thing I knew, I was back in my house and so were they. Not to mention I was also continuously glancing over my shoulder." [author: True dream! Even more disturbing was the one w/ the evil little girl and 3 of my fave characters from Pern...Poor Master Robinton--he did NOT deserve his fate. (They turned his stomach around.)]
Sakura glanced down at the necklace in her hand. She blinked a couple times. Then she rubbed her eyes. Sure enough, the necklace was glowing. It was almost as if the necklace and the "evil forest" as Sarah called it were in alliance. Oh, well. She would get the necklace around--wait. What was happening to her? The necklace was evil! She threw the evil abomination to the ground and stepped on it as hard as she could. The rest of the group watched with keen interest as Sakura managed to break the alluring necklace. [author: How many times can I say "necklace"?]
Sarah and Sakura immediately felt a sudden release on their minds. So, the necklace had been influencing them after all!
"Okay, I'm definitely glad I destroyed that thing," said Sakura. Sarah nodded her head in agreement.

"Master? What are we going to do now? NightKnife didn't get the necklace on Sarah."
"Idiot! How many times must I tell you not to talk?! Nevermind! Just keep your mouth shut! NIGHTKNIFE!"
"Yes, Master?"
"Go have a little chat with our little friends."
"Yes, Master."

Chris, Puck, and Syaoran were dead tired. Why Sakura and Sarah weren't was beyond their reasoning. Suddenly, a beautiful woman appeared. Sarah and Sakura stopped their circle marching and turned to stare at the stranger. Her beautiful silver skin, gray eyes, and midnight black hair set her apart as a very stunning person indeed.
"Hello, I'm sorry if I scared you." Her message, directed at Sarah, soared through a silvery gorgeous voice only rivaled by Sarah's golden one. [author: Can I help it if I get compliments on my voice?] All Sarah, Sakura, Chris, Syaoran, and Puck could do was stare with their mouths gaping at her. "My name is NightKnife."
