Chapter One - Runaway Taxi

"Now arriving, flight 650 from Hong Kong. Passengers will be exiting at gate 14." A loud voice rang
out over the intercom. TV crews, Newspaper writers, and more from the press rushed to the gate
mentioned. They had been waiting for this flight for two different reasons. 1) The newest leader to the
Li clan would be coming off. Mr. Li Syaoran{1}.

He was a handsome man at the young age of 19. He was already named the most wanted bachelor of
the year and the last. With his handsome face, his dark brown shaggy hair, and his deep auburn eyes
along with the immense fortune of his family, it was no wonder why all the females and the press were
so attracted to the man. Even with his attitude toward the press, which didn't seem to knock off
any females or reporters, he was a known man all over the globe. His hatred for the media did
draw some attention though. Many saw through the facade that he wore. His closest friends and family
knew him to be a softhearted man. He barely smiled or laughed openly in public and he never went
out on dates with the woman of his time. He saw dating as an excuse to ruin his well planned out life.

While most of the crew settled in front of the door, over half of the crowd ran over to the young man
as he emerged from the terminal. The other half waited for the second reason the flight was so
important. 2) She was a beautiful girl, young, talented, and charming. Ms. Kinomoto Sakura{2}.

Sakura was the times most famous female. With her strength and beauty, it was a wonder she was still
single. Ever since junior high, she had been a famous model. She only wore the clothes from her
best friend and second half to the duo, Daidouji Tomoyo. Tomoyo had dreamed of being a designer
since her childhood. When her and Sakura met up in the fourth grade, she knew she'd found the perfect
model. Ever since then, Sakura and Tomoyo teamed up and have become the most popular
Designer/Model in all of the Asian countries. Sakura's modeling was not the only thing claiming her
fame. She was also a famous gymnast, having taken home the gold three years running in the summer
Olympics. At the age of 18, she finally put in her retirement for the Olympics, and focused more on
her modeling career. She was coming home to Tomoeda from sticking her friend in the University of
Hong Kong. Tomoyo was a little reluctant, complaining that she wouldn't have enough time to make
costumes for her young friend, but after Sakura explained to her all the new techniques she would
learn, her mind was changed.

As the brunette haired, emerald-eyed beauty stepped from the terminal, the remaining cameramen,
and reporters rushed toward her, leaving Syaoran and Sakura blinded from the other. Syaoran was
immediately ticked off. He was looking forward to a nice visit back to his hometown, without the mess
of the media on his case. He pushed rudely through the mass, every now and then stating: "No
comment." He continued out the doors of the Tomoeda Airport to be welcomed by the site of his
limousine. He noticed the driver standing outside with a cell phone in hand. "Furubito{3}? Is there a
problem?" he questioned.

"I'm so sorry, Mr. Li. It seems that your limo has gotten a flat. I've already called a local limousine
company, and a replacement should be sent in the next 20 minutes."

Syaoran groaned,"Oh, don't bother. I'll just take a taxi in to town. I'm anxious to see all my old friends
again and such. You may take the rest of the day off as you please." Syaoran grabbed his lonely
suitcase and walked to the curb to hail a taxi.

Meanwhile, Sakura was busy trying to schedule interviews with all the present reporters. She wasn't
the type to just walk past them with no interesting details about her busy life. She loved her fans, and
would do just about anything to please them. Today, wasn't any different, except she was getting
anxious about seeing her father and brother. She quickly broke through the crowd and rushed outside
to find a taxi. She noticed one sitting at the curb, pulled open the door and slid in.

Syaoran's eyes shifted toward the door as a young girl slid into the seat beside him. He groaned again.
He knew something like this would happen. She was probably hoping that he would find her attractive
and decide to marry her or something. He rolled his eyes and glared at the girl accusingly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know someone else was using this taxi. Would it be alright if we shared? I'm
kinda in a hurry to get home." Syaoran's gaze softened on the girl at the sound of her voice. It was
beautiful, soft, innocent. He dumbly nodded and fingered his bag nervously. "Oh, thank you! Can you
please take this kind gentleman home first, then I'll tell you where I live." She said to the driver.
Sakura turned toward the man beside her and smiled kindly at him, before sitting back in her seat.

"Sorry, miss. No one's going anywhere." A man suddenly slid into the front seat beside the driver,
gun in hand. Sakura and Syaoran both stiffened. "Now, Uragiru{4}, drive," the man ordered the driver. He
simply grinned, stepped on the gas, and took off. The man holding the gun turned toward the
passengers in the back.

"Where are you taking us?" Sakura asked suddenly. She knew for certain that this man was probably
trying to kidnap her for a ransom, but he wouldn't get much out of the deal. Her father and brother
didn't have the money he would most likely be asking for. They were just like middle class people.
Sakura herself used most of her money to help Tomoyo and her other close friends to get to college
that year, she was never the greedy type. She glanced over at the man beside her, wishing that he
wasn't in this cab with her. Now, her fame had gotten an innocent man involved. She groaned, before
turning back toward the man and glaring daggers at him.

"First of all, miss, the rules. Rule #1, no questions. Rule #2, you cooperate, no one gets hurt. And, Rule
#3, shut up!" The man screamed at them. Syaoran immediately moved closer to the girl beside him.
His damn name was always getting him into trouble. Being a Li did have its advantages, but also, in
this case, its disadvantages. He couldn't touch this man, for fear that he would harm the beauty beside
him. He glared at the man, wanting nothing but to break his nose in three places, but he just
couldn't risk it. "Now, I understand that you two have not yet been introduced, am I right?" the
man asked of the two hostages.

"That is correct, sir." Syaoran answered, his voice stern and calm. Sakura's gaze moved up from
her shaking fingers to the man beside her. [How on Earth can he be so calm about this? He must
not understand the danger involved here.] Sakura thought to herself.

"Well, get on with it. I wish to see the reaction you two will be about to give to the other."
The man laughed.

"Kinomoto Sakura. Nice to meet you." Sakura responded polietly.

"Li Syaoran, the pleasure is all mine." Li answered, taking her hand gently in his and kissing
the back of it.

"Li, as in the Li clan?" Sakura asked, a revelation upon her as a blush tinted her cheeks.

"That is correct, and I assume you are Ms. Kinomoto the famous model with the Daidouji company,
ne?{5}"

Sakura smiled, "That's me, I suppose. Now tell me, Mr. Kidnapper, what do you plan to do with
a taxi with a famous model, and a Chinese fighter in it? If you don't mind my asking." Sakura
asked, turning back toward the gunhandler.

"Of course not, We didn't really plan on having the both of you joining us today, but we were
quite lucky about it." The driver laughed at his choice of words. "But, mind you, now that we
have you both here, we aren't about to lose either one of you just yet."

"What is it that you want?" Syaoran asked.

"You two are not very good at following the rules, are you? Well, I suppose I can answer this
one also. We only are in it for the money and popularity received from it. I mean, who is smart
enough to kidnap two of the world's most famous people in one day? Now, we've really got a good
name on us already. Now, you two might as well make yourselves comfortable. It's gonna take a
while."

Syaoran and Sakura sighed, leaned back and tried to relax. "Hey, what's your name, sir?" Sakura
suddenly asked.

"My name? I'm Hiiragizawa Eriol."
