Card Captor Sakura Fan Fiction ❯ Return of the forgotten ❯ Gifts ( Chapter 3 )
3. Gifts
Sakura walked through the city happily whistling some melody she heard in Radio. She liked shopping with Tomoyo. They always found the nicest things. They could spend hours just examining the windows of the shops. In one of those windows, that belonged to a jewelry, Sakura saw something so beautiful she couldn't leave her eyes of.
"Sakura-chan, what are you looking at?", Tomoyo asked.
"Over there.", Sakura said and pointed her finger at the item she was staring at. It was a small, silver crescent moon on a thin silver necklace.
"Isn't it beautiful?", Sakura asked.
"Yes. It is.", Tomoyo answered.
"It makes me think of Yue-chan."; Sakura said. "I am sure it will look great on him, don't you think?"
"Oh yes.", Tomoyo replied, "The silver fits his entire self very well."
"Aaaaahhh!!!", Sakura suddenly screamed.
"What's wrong?", Tomoyo asked.
"Have you had a look at the price?", Sakura exclaimed, "That would be all the money I have right now and it is still two weeks until I get monthly money. But I MUST have it!"
"Maybe I can help you.", Tomoyo said, "I can lend you some money, so you won't be poor for the next two weeks."
"Arigato, Tomoyo-chan.", Sakura said and hugged her best friend tightly, "You are really the best friend I could have."
"No problem.", Tomoyo remarked.
And so, the necklace was bought. Tomoyo and Sakura walked happily to Tomoyo's house, where they had tea and cookies and wrapped the box the necklace was in into some white paper that had yellow stars and moons on it. "This paper is just perfect!", Tomoyo exclaimed.
"Yes," Sakura said as she tied a white ribbon around it in a bow, "I am glad you found it."
"When will you give it to him?", Tomoyo asked.
"Well,", Sakura answered, " if I knew his birthday, I would give it to him then. But nobody seems to know. Even if I asked, he may not tell me. You must know, Yue-chan is a bit special when it comes to his age."
"So desu ka?", Tomoyo said more like a statement than a question.
"Hai.", Sakura replied, "So what other date would be good? Valentine's day, but that's too far away. And Christmas as well. Ah, I got it!"
"Nani?", Tomoyo questioned.
"In three days, it will be exactly two months that we are together. That day will be perfect." Sakura's eyes were sparkling at the thought of celebrating that little anniversary like this.
"Sakura-chan, you are a genius!", Tomoyo exclaimed.
Sakura scratched the back of her head and blushed lightly.
"So now we just need the right environment for it.", Tomoyo continued.
"How about the Tokyo Tower? In the evening, when the moon and stars are shining, just the two of you…Oh, how absolutely romantic! I need to have that all on tape."
"Gomen, Tomoyo-chan.", Sakura interrupted her, "But me and Yue-chan would appreciate being alone, you see?"
"Too bad.", Tomoyo said with a sad look, "But I think you are right. I will leave you two lovebirds alone."
Sakura blushed again. "Arigato, Tomoyo-chan."
"No problem, Sakura-chan.", Tomoyo replied.
The three days had passed quickly and Sakura was nervously awaiting the evening. She had already asked Yue to fly to Tokyo Tower with her, for watching the moon and stars, as she had exclaimed. As the sun began to set, she took the little present out from under her bed, where she had kept it from curious eyes and put it in the pocket of her jacket. Then, she went into Yue's room, from where the two always started their little trips.
"Ready?", she asked him.
"If you are.", Yue replied.
Sakura nodded and summoned her staff. She called out the Fly card and pink wings grew at her back. Then, she headed put of the open window, followed by Yue.
The sight from Tokyo Tower was as breathtaking as always, the almost full moon and the sparkling stars shining down from the sky. They sat side by side, one arm wrapped around the other's waist, looking at the sky.
"What is that?", he asked.
Sakura got a bit nervous. She swallowed before she spoke:
"I saw this and I had to think of you. It is exactly two months that we are together now, and I thought that would be a good present."
"You mean you bought something just for me?", Yue asked surprised.
"Hai.", Sakura answered and handed him the present.
Yue took it and began to slowly remove the bow and the paper. He opened the small box and took the necklace out of it. His eyes fell on the crescent moon, that shimmered silvery in the moonlight.
"This is really beautiful.", Yue said while examining it with his hands, "You really want to give such a beautiful thing to me as gift?"
"Of course.", Sakura answered, "None else deserves this better than you."
"Thank you, Sakura.", Yue replied, "I feel very honored to receive such a precious thing from you." Yue took her face in his hands and kissed her. After the kiss was over, Sakura said:
"May I put it around your neck?"
"Of course you may.", Yue answered.
Sakura bent forward and placed the necklace around Yue's neck, closing it in the back. After she was done, she shifted back a little and looked at her beloved.
"It looks beautiful, just like you.", she said.
"Arigato.", Yue said and blushed lightly (AN: I would die to see that!), "I wish I had also something I could give you."
"Don't worry.", Sakura answered, "You already give me more than enough." She smiled at him with the sweetest smile she had, making Yue feel warm and content. He couldn't fight the urge to also smile a little.
They spend about an hour sitting on the tower, watching the moon and stars, holding each other and kissing from time to time. To both of them, it seemed that those happy times passed by way too quickly.
One day later, Sakura sat in her room doing her homework as she heard a knock on the door.
"Come in, Yue-chan.", she said.
"Do I disturb you?", Yue asked.
"Iie.", Sakura answered, "You are always welcome."
"I have something to give to you.", Yue said and revealed the right hand he had hid behind his back until then. He handed her a small, pink bag. "I saw this and it reminded me of you, and so I will give it to you as a gift."
"Arigato, Yue-chan.", Sakura replied and took the bag in her hand. She opened it a bit and looked inside. She smiled broadly as she saw the content of the bag: Small pink, blue, green and yellow stars made of sugar.
"Those are really precious.", Sakura said, "Where you got them from?"
"I visited Yukito this morning and he had lots of them lying around. I saw them and I had to think of you, so I asked him if he would give me a bag. He is still very special in behavior when it comes to food. I had a hard time making him give me one."
"I can imagine that.", Sakura giggled, "Yukito-chan is really attached to food and sweets."
"I told him they were for you and that it would mean much to me to make you such a present.", Yue said, "Then, he just giggled and handed me a bag."
"He finds it amusing that we are a couple.", Sakura exclaimed.
"Why?", Yue asked.
"Don't know.", Sakura answered and smiled, "However, arigato. I really appreciate this."
She threw her arms around Yue's neck and kissed him.
"I am very happy, Yue-chan.", she finally whispered into his ear, "After that dream I had some days ago, I was really frightened. But you will always be at my side, won't you?"
"You can be sure of that.", Yue replied, "Dreams are dreams, but this is reality."
What the two didn't know at that moment was that someone had witnessed that scene within a dark realm. A shadowy figure looked at the orb that showed the two lovers. And although the face of that figure laid mostly in darkness, you could see a disgusted smirk on the dark red lips…
AN: Now this one was exhausting! I don't like the overdose of sweetness in here, but it had to be like that. But soon, son the sweet things won't be sweet anymore, muhahahaha!!!
Ahem, scuse me.
