-----------------------------------------------
Once upon time in the middle of Spring, when the cherry blossoms were
falling like feathers from the sky, a queen sat at a window, watching
the cherry blossoms fall. She loved the beautiful cherry blossoms in
the spring. She gazed upon them in great wonder.
"Oh, these wonderful Cherry Blossoms are such a beauty to me." Queen
Nedshiko said, staring at each one fall outside the window. And at
that moment, she thought to herslef, that if she was to have a girl
child, she would name her Sakura.
Soon after that she had a little daughter, who was named Sakura. But,
years later. The queen had died...
Years passed....
"Childern.." King Fujitaka said.
"Yes papa?" Prince Touya asked, looking up at his father.
The Princess, who was Sakura looked at her father, "What is it?"
"I know it has been awhile since the death of our beloved queen."
Fujitaka said, "But, I have found somewhat of a carrier. More likely
as a watcher when I am out for deeds."
Prince Touya snorted, "But papa, I am old enough to take care of
myself and Sa-"
"Well," Fujitaka said, "I don't think you are responsible. But, please
give her warm welcomes. She will arrive in a little more of a while."
They dwelled for a while, untill the tall grand door had opened, with
a woman a beautiful woman walking in, but proud and haughty, and she
could not bear that anyone else should surpass her in beauty.
"Hello, kiddies!" Nakuru said, smiling, "That's right! I'm beautiful
and you're not!"
"I might as well, leave you all to get along." King Fujitaka said,
leaving the room.
But, Nakuru just walked over and sat down on a throne, she held a
wonderful looking-glass, and she looked upon it, looking at herself,
and said, "Looking-glass, Looking-glass, on the wall, who in this land
is the fairest of them all." she then glared at the looking-glass
madely "And you better now the RIGHT answer!"
With that, the mirror had smoke appear in it's shiny form, and vision
appeared, a head of a creature, black and all, "Thou, o Nakuru, art
the fairest of all."
"Thank, you Suppi-chan." Nakuru was satisified, for she knew that the
looking-glass spoke the truth.
The looking-glass creature growled, "I've told youth this once! And
I'll tell youth this again! Don't call me Suppi-chan!"
"Quiet you." Nakuru said stuffing the looking-glass into her purse.
"Umm, Prince Touya." Nakuru said.
"What is it?" Prince Touya said walking up to her.
Nakuru put her head back and placing her hand upon her forehead as if
she had fainted, "I am feeling a little faint, hurry fetch me some
wine and grapes."
"You can't drink wine." Prince Touya said.
Nakuru smiled at him, "Well, you are not really prince charming. Might
as well, tell that to your father."
"No.." Touya said knowing his father would give him a lash if he
didn't use his manners, "Just wait, I'll get you some wine." and he
headed to the royal kitchen.
"Pig.." a stuffeled voice came from inside Nakuru's purse.
"Shut up!" Nakuru whined.
Prince Touya came out of the kitchen with a wine bottle and spotted
his sister, Sakura. "Hey, Sakura."
"Hoe?" Sakura said and turned around, "Yes, Touya?" Touya headed over
to her and handed her the wine bottle. "Touya, you know I can't
drink."
Touya grunted, "No. Got take that to the watcher."
"Oh, Nakuru?" Sakura asked.
Touya sighed, "Yeah."
"Alright." Sakura said with a smile, and ran over to Nakuru, "Here,
Miss Nakuru."
Nakuru looked at Sakura and smiled, "Oh, thank you." she took the wine
bottle, and then looked back at Sakura, "Go along now.."
"Hai." Sakura said and walked off.
Days passed, and Nakuru kept watching over the Prince and Princess
each time King Fujitaka went out for an errand. One day, Sakura went
outside and started playing the grass, and watched the clouds go by in
the mystical sky, As Nakuru ate grapes. She then took out her
looking-glass, "Looking-glass, Looking-glass, on the wall, who in this
land is the fairest of all." she asked.
And once again, the looking-glass creature appeared on the mirror,
"Thou art fairer than all who are here, lady Nakuru." The creature
said, "But more beautiful still is Sakura, as I ween." The creature
then mumbled under his breath, "Thank god...."
"What?!?!" Nakuru shouted, and growled at the looking-glass, "You
lier!!"
The creature snorted, "For I not lie.."
"But you shall die!" Nakuru said and stuffed the looking-glass into
her purse. She was so angry. From that hour, whenever she looked at
Sakura, her heart heaved in her chest, she hated the girl so much. And
envy and pride grew higher and higher in her heart like a weed, so
that she had no peace day or night.
"Stupid, Sakura." Nakuru said, pacing back and forth, "I wish she
could die! So then I will be the beautifulest women the the land!"
Thing a mummfled voice came from Nakuru's purse, "Darn. Then I'll have
to find different girl to be more beautiful then Nakuru."
"Quiet!!" Nakuru said. "I know! I'll call me hunstman." she then
called out, "YUE!!!!"
A tall man, all in white clothing, with long white hair, and sliverish
eyes came in, "Yes, Nakuru?"
"Take the child away into the forest." Nakuru said.
Yue shrugged, "What child?"
"The Princess!" Nakuru said, "I will no longer have her in my sight.
Kill her, and bring her back her lung and liver as a token."
Yue crossed his arms, "Why should I even listen to you. I am stronger
then you."
"Because." Nakuru said, "I am beautiful. And you're not."
Yue obeyed and walked to the door, "I've seen cabbage more beautiful."
he said and left the room.
"WHAT!?!!" Nakuru shouted.
Yue walked outside, and over to Sakura, "What are you doing Princess
Sakura?"
"Hoe?" Sakura turned quickly to him. "Just looking at the clouds."
Yue looked at the sky, "I see. Princess Sakura, would you delight in a
walk to the woods with me?"
"Sure." Sakura replied with a gentle smile.
Yue had taken Sakura for a wonderful walk in the woods. Yue then
paused Sakura walked on a bit and then turned around, "Is everything
alright?" she asked, but met Yue holding his magical bow and arrow,
with the blue magical arrow pointing at her. But right before Yue shot
at Sakura's innocent heart, she began to weep,
and said, "Ah, dear hunstmen, leave me my life. I will run away into
the wild forest, and never come home again."
And as she was so beautiful Yue had pity on her and said, "Alright.
Run away, then, you poor child." with that, Sakura ran off into the
dark forest. Yue headed back, but on his way out of the forest he saw
a bear, and went by and shot it with his arrow, and got it's lung and
liver to show to Nakuru of proof that Sakura was dead.
"Here, lady Nakuru." Yue said, showing Nakuru the bear's lung and
liver.
Nakuru smiled, "Excellent." she said and smirked, "Now that she is
dead. I am the best!"
But now, Sakura was left in the dark forest, and so terrified that she
looked at all the leaves on the trees, "Hoooeee..." she said
frightened. Then she began to run, and ran over sharp rocks and
thorns, and the wild beats ran past her, but did not harm her. She ran
as long as her feet could go until it was almost evening, then she saw
a little cottage, "A little cottage.." Sakura said. She then walked up
to the cottage and walked in for a rest. Inside the house everything
was cleaner and neater then can be told. There was a table on which
was a white cover, and seven plates, on each was a spoon, moreover,
there were seven knives and forks, and seven mugs. Against the wall
stood seven beds side by side, and covered with snow-white
counterpanes.
Sakura was so hungry and thirsty that she ate some vegetables and
bread from each plate and drank a drop of water out of each mug, for
she did not wish to take all from one only. Then, as she was so tired,
she laid herself down on one of the beds, but none of them suited her,
one was too long, another too short, but at last she found the seventh
one was right, and so she remained in it, said a prayer and went to
sleep.
When it was quiet dark the owners of the cottage came back, it was
seven people the same age as Sakura. They dug and delved in the
mountains for ore. They lit their seven candles, "Home sweet home."
Eriol said.
They all settled at their seats, "Wait." Chiharu said, "Who's been
sitting in my chair?"
Noako looked at her empty plate, "Who's been eating off my plate?"
"Who's been taking some of my bread?" Rika asked.
Yamazaki lifted an eyebrow, "Who has been eating my vegetables."
"Who has been using my fork?" Eriol asked.
Tomoyo put a finger to her chin, "Who has been cutting with my knife?"
"Who has been drinking out of my mug?" Meiling huffed.
Chiharu thought, "I don't know. But whoever it is they are
trespassing!"
They all turned to see Sakura sleeping in a bed, "It's a girl.." Eriol
said. they all smiled.
"Let's let her sleep." Yamazaki said, they all nodded.
When it was morning Sakura awoke, and was frightened when she saw the
people. But they were friendly and asked, "What is your name?"
"My name is Sakura." she answered.
All the kids looked at eachother, "Well, I'm Chiharu." the fist kid
said.
"I'm Eriol." the other said.
"I'm Yamazaki." the other said.
"I'm Meiling." the other said.
"I'm Noako." the other said.
"I'm Rika." the other said.
"And, I'm Tomoyo." the last one said.
Yamazaki looked at her, "How is it that you came to our cottage?"
"Well," Sakura said, "My watcher, Nakuru. Wished to have me killed
and, but the huntsman had spared my life, and I ran for the whole day,
until I at last had found this cottage."
"You can stay, if you clean, cook, sew, and everything." said Meiling.
Sakura smiled, "Alright."
Days went by, and Sakura stayed at the cottage and cleaned, cooked,
and sewed, but she lived happy. The one day, Eriol, Yamazaki, Chiharu,
Meiling, Noako, Rika, and Tomoyo had to go leave for a little bit.
"And watch out for your watcher, Nakuru." Tomoyo warned, "She will
know you are here. So, don't let anyone in."
But Nakuru, who thought Sakura was dead, could not but think she was
again the first and most beautiful of all, and she went to her
looking-glass and said, "Looking-glass, Looking-glass, on the wall,
who in this land is the fairest of all?"
The creature appeared on the looking-glass again, "Oh, Nakuru, thou
art fairest of all I see, but over the hills, whever the seven teens
dwell, Sakura is still alive and well, and none is as fair as she."
"WHHHHHAAAAATTTT!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" Nakuru shouted.
Nakuru then walked back and forth, "How shall I kill her? And get rid
of her from this hour on!? By Bear? Or by surprise attack?" Nakuru
then got a brilliant idea, "Disguise!" Nakuru then painted her face,
and dressed herself like an old pedler woman, and no one could have
known her. "With this marveoulos disguise, I'll travel to that cottage
and kill Sakura!!" she then let out an evil laughter.
"It may seem that this disguise is more beautiful then your truself,
if you know what I mean." The looking-glass creature said.
Nakuru glared at the looking-glass, "SHUT UP!!!" Nakuru then walked
out, over mountains and she then reached the cottage. She hald walked
up to the cottage, and knocked on the door. Playing an poor lady act,
she started to say disguising her voice as an old ladies at a very
pitched tone, "Pretty things to sell, very cheap, very cheap!!" her
screaming was so horrible animals ran as far as they could, even the
bravest and strongest beasts couldn't stand it. Nakuru didn't like the
sight of the animals running from her, "Mooouuuu!!!!" she whined.
Then, Sakura looked out the window and called out, "Good day my good
woman, what have you to sell?"
"Good things, pretty things," she answered, "Stay-laces of all
colors." And she pulled one out that was sewed with bright colored
silk. Sakura thought and decided for the lady to come in. She unbolted
the door and Nakuru walked in.
"Child," said Nakuru disguised as the old pedler woman, "What a fright
you look, come, I will lace you properly for once."
The looking-glass beast talked from inside Nakuru's purse, "I thought
you were supposed to give her an apple."
"Quiet." Nakuru said, and whispered into her purse, "Anyways I ran out
of money to buy an apple."
Sakura tilted her head, "Hoe?"
"Oh," Nakuru said, "Anyways, I will lace you properly for one." Sakura
just stood before her, and let herself be laced with new laces. But
the old woman laced so quickly and so tightly that Sakura lost her
breath and fell down as if she was dead. "HaHa!" Nakuru laughed, "Now
I am the most beautiful." she then ran off.
Not long afterwards, in the evening, the seven other kids came back
home, "I'm telling you," said Yamazaki, "We should have left her more
things to clean."
But, when they entered their house. They were at shock seeing Sakura
lying on the ground, and neither that she stirred nor moved, they cut
the laces, then she began to breathe a little, and after awhile she
came back to life. Sakura told them what had happened soon after.
"It must be that darn watcher of ours behind this." Meiling said.
Naoko nodded, "Yes, take care and let no one in with you when we are
not here."
"La la la la la.." Nakuru jolly sang as she entered the castle and
swung herself around, happily thinking Sakura was finally dead. She
then took out her looking-glass, "Looking-glass, Looking-glass, on the
wall, who in this land is the fairest of all." she asked.
The Looking-glass creatured, known as Spinel Sun appeared, "Oh, queen
art thou art fairest of all I see, but over the hills, where the seven
teens dwell, Sakura is still alive and well, and none is so fair as
she."
Nakuru then grew ragingly mad, "That's it!!!! I am going to get rid of
Sakura ONCE and FOR ALL!!" Then as she dwelled in the masement, and
with the help of witchcraft she created a poisonos comb. Then she
disguised herself and took shape of another old woman. So she went
over the mountains to the seven teens house, and reached the cottage
and knocked on the door, and once more cried, "Good things to sell,
cheap, cheap."
Sakura looked out the window and cried, "Go away, I cannot let anyone
come in."
"I suppose you can look." Nakuru said, and held out the poisonos comb.
It pleased the girl so much that she let herself be beguiled, and
opened the door. When they had made a bargain the old woman said, "Now
I will comb your hair properly for once." Sakura had no suspicion, and
let the old woman so as she pleased, but hardly she put the comb in
her hair than the poison took effect, and the girl fell down
senseless.
"You baragan of beauty," Nakuru said, "You are done for now," and then
she left.
Then, almost evening the seven teens came back home. When they saw
Sakura lying as if she was dead upon the ground they once expected the
watcher. They looked and found something.
"Hey look, a comb!" Eriol said, and brought it up to his head about to
comb his hair.
Tomoyo put out her hands, "No Eriol, it's poisonos. That mean old
watcher must have poisonosend her!"
Now that the comb was removed, Sakura had came back to herself, and
told them what had happened.
"Be open gaurded." Chiharu warned.
Rika nodded, "And open the door to no one."
Nakuru, at the palace, took out her looking-glass and said,
"Looking-glass, Looking-glass, on the wall, who in this land is the
fairest of all." she then twirled her hair back.
The Looking-glass creature, Spinel Sun appeared, "Oh, Nakuru, thou art
fairest of all I see, but pver the hills, where the seven teens dwell,
Sakura is still alive and well, and one is so fair as she."
When the glass spoke thus she trembled and shook with rage. "Sakura
shall die," she cried, "even if it costs me my life!!" Thereupon she
went down in a dark lonely room, where no one ever came, and there she
made a very poisonos apple. Outiside it looked pretty, white with a
red cheek, and so that everyone who saw it longed for it, but whoever
ate a piece of it must surely die. When the apple was ready, she
painted her face and dressed herself as an old farmers wife. And so,
she went over the mountains to the teen's cottage. She knocked on the
door.
Sakura put her head out the window and said, "I cannot let anyone in,
the seven teens have forbidden me."
"It is all the same to me." said the old woman. "I shall soon get rid
of my apples. Here, I will give one to you."
"No," said Sakura, "I dare not take anything.
"Are you afraid it will be poisonous?" asked the old woman, "Look, I
will cut the apple in two pieces, you eat the red cheek, and I'll eat
the white cheek." The apple was so cunningly made that only the red
cheek was poisononed. Sakura longed for the apple, and when see saw
the old woman take a bite of it, she could resist no longer, and
stretched out and took the poisonous half. But hardly she took a bite
out of it she dropped dead. Nakuru then walked up to her, and laughed
evily, "The seven teens cannot wake you up now." she then left. Once
she got to the castle, she asked the looking-glass, "Looking-glass,
Looking-glass, on the wall, who in this land is the fairest of all."
The Looking-glass creature, Spinel Sun answered, "Oh, Nakuru, in this
land thou art fairest of all."
Then her envious heart had rest, so far as an evious heart can have
rest.
When the seven teens came home, they were shocked to see Sakura lying
there as if she was dead. They tried to see if there was anything
poisonos, but there wasn't. Then, they were right to bury her, but she
still looked healthy.
"We cannot bury her in the dark ground," Meiling said.
So then they had a transparent coffin of glass made, so she could be
seen from all sides, and they laid her in it, and wrote her name upon
it in golden letters, and that she was a king's daughter. Then they
put the coffin out upon a mountain, and one of them always stayed by
it and watched it. And birds came too, and wept for Sakura, first an
owl, then a raven, and last a dove. And Sakura lay a long time in the
coffin, and she did not change, but looked as if she was asleep.
It happened, however, a king's son came over to stay the night at the
teen's, "Hello?" Syaoran asked and glares at all the readers, "Don't
say anything..." but he spotted the coffin, and the beautiful Sakura
within it, and read what was written in golden letters. Then he said
to the teens, "Let me have the coffin. I will give you whatever you
want for it."
But the seven teens answered, "We will not part with it for all the
gold in the world."
Then he said, "Let me have it as a gift, for I cannot live without
seeing Sakura. I will honor and prize her as my dearest possesion." as
he spoke, the teens gave pity on him and let him have the coffin.
And now Syaoran had carried it away by his servents on their
shoulders. And it happened that they stumbled over a tree stump, and
with a shock the poisonos piece of apple which Sakura had bitten off
came out of her throat. And before long she opened her eyes, lifted
the lid of the coffin, sat up, and was once more alive. "Oh, heavens,
where am I?" she asked.
Syaoran, full of joy, said, "You are with me." and he told her what
had happened, and told her, "And I love you more than everything in
the world, come with me to my palace, you shall be my wife."
And Sakura was willing, and went with him, and their wedding was held
with a great show and splendor. But Sakura wicked watcher was also
bidden to the feast. When she arrayed herself in beautiful clothing
she pulled out her looking-glass and said, "Looking-glass,
Looking-glass, on the wall, who in this land is the fairest of all."
The looking-glass creature, Spinel Sun appeared and answered, "Oh,
Nakuru, of all here the fairest art thou, but the young queen is
fairer by far as I trow."
Nakuru was in deep rage, but decided to live in rage, as the second
beautifulest of all...
