Chapter 1: Awaken

With a loud SLAM! The door flew open. The room was dark, all except for a stream of light that came weakly through the space between the heavy curtains. The only sound that could be heard was the heavy breathing of the shadowy figure that stood at the door. The figure moved, growing a long extension of its' body, it seemed to be looking for something. It finally found its' target and made a little sound before moving it's extension a bit. The room lit up and…

“Sakura! WAKE UP!”

The figure had turned out to be a girl of about 19 years of age with flowing purple hair. Her beautiful violet eyes were slightly glaring at a lump that was located on the bed in front of her.

“Tomoyo… go away…” the lump groaned as it shifted.

“You don't want to be late, do you?” Tomoyo walked over to the lump and ripped the blankets off the bed “Sakura!”

Sakura slowly sat up and growled. “We don't have school today, so go away!” Sakura had always been told that she shouldn't live with her friends, or she wouldn't have any by the time she got her own place, but she couldn't see herself with any other roommate… except maybe for Syaoran.

“We're going to be late because of you! Syaoran and Eriol aren't going to be happy…” Tomoyo trailed off and left Sakura to herself to change.

Sakura jumped up and yawned “The guys can wait a little longer…” Sakura opened her closet and sighed. “I forgot to do the laundry…” So she grabbed whatever she could find, which turned out to be an older outfit that consisted of a soft pink top and black jeans with a print of pink butterflies on it. Sakura quickly got changed and ran out of her room after grabbing her purse. She ran down the stairs and saw Tomoyo standing at the door in a purple, flowery dress. Te dress fit Tomoyo's body perfectly and had a small logo on the left breast that showed it was a product of the “Clow Clothes”, a small pastime of Tomoyo's.

“Sakura… you aren't wearing that are you? You haven't worn that in ages!” Tomoyo eyed Sakura in a slightly disturbed way. She never liked Sakura wearing clothing that she hadn't personal made or approved. Sakura shrugged and grabbed her shoes. “Why shouldn't I wear what I want? It's not like Syaoran will care.”

Tomoyo shook her head and opened the door of their apartment as Sakura put on her shoes. Tomoyo walked out into the hallway with Sakura following behind. They took the elevator down to the first floor and walked out into the busy streets of Tokyo. Sakura screeched as they walked through the front door as the light of the mid day hit her like a tonne of bricks. The apartment had been dark, making it seem near midnight. Tomoyo laughed at her friend and shook her head again “That's what you get for sleeping until noon.”

The two friends headed for Sakura's car and got in. The car wasn't a very fancy one, but Sakura loved it like it was alive. It was a dark purple colour and seemed slightly cramped from the outside.

Sakura drove out of the parking area and drove down the busy street. “So… Where are we going again?” Sakura asked her violet eyed friend.

“You don't remember? We're going to Syaoran and Eriol's place” Tomoyo replied with a sigh.

“Ohh… why?” Sakura grinned stupidly at Tomoyo as she turned a corner. Tomoyo rolled her eyes and sighed once again.

“You really are helpless aren't you?” Tomoyo giggles as Sakura pushed her slightly. “Hey! Keep your eyes on the road! The guys just want to spend time with their favorite women.”

Sakura turned again and stopped in a small parking area. Tomoyo followed Sakura toward the front door and buzzed Syaoran/Eriol's apartment. “Hello…?” a familiar voice came out of the small speaker, “Syaoran! Why are we locked out? Don't you like us anymore?” Sakura said into the speaker. “Eh?” Syaoran sounded slightly confused. There were some muffling sounds that could be heard through the speaker before Eriol's voice came through “Don't mind him Sakura, he just woke up. Here, I'll buzz you up.”

Though was a loud buzzing sound and Tomoyo pulled the door open. The two friends walked toward the elevator and took it up to the appropriate floor. They found the door that led to Syaoran and Eriol's apartment and knocked on it. The door was quickly opened to reveal a smiling Eriol standing in the doorway “Why hello! I'm sorry but we are waiting for your big sisters.” Eriol always made cheesy lines and that seemed to be one of the things Tomoyo loved about him.

“Ohh hush you.” Tomoyo giggled and hugged Eriol. Sakura grinned at them and walked through the doorway. The room that the door led into was dark and cramped from all the things lying around. Sakura reached for the light switch when she noticed some light coming out from the bottom of a door. She smiled and slowly made her way over to the door, watching where she stepped to make sure she didn't step on anything. Sakura knocked on the door with a soft rap and waited for it to open but instead heard a voice that she immediately recognized it as Syaoran's. “One minute! I'm almost ready!” Sakura giggled at Syaoran's reply and knocked on the door again. “I said I'll be ready in a minute!” Syaoran yelled through the closed door. Sakura smirked and knocked on the door again. There was a deep growling sound from the other side of the door. The door flung open and Syaoran glared down at Sakura “Eriol!...” Syaoran then noticed who stood in front of him and blushed a deep red. “S-Sakura! When did you get here? I-I'm sorry, I thought…” Sakura giggled and hugged Syaoran. Syaoran sighed and hugged his girlfriend as well.

“I heard that you just woke up, don't feel bad about it, I always wake up late” Sakura said while she walked into Syaoran's room. “Yeah well… I stayed up late last night” Syaoran replied. “Ohh I see” Sakura looked around Syaoran's room seeing pictures of him, Tomoyo, Eriol and herself. The room was painted a soft green colour with a black carpet. Sakura tuned toward Syaoran and smiled “So, what do you wanna do?”

Syaoran shrugged and sat down on his messy bed “I dunno, what do you wanna do?” Sakura sat beside Syaoran and grinned at him. “I dunno what do you wanna do?” Syaoran chuckled and leaned his face closer to Sakura's and said “I dunno… hat do you want to do?” Sakura smiled at Syaoran and pressed her lips against his. Syaoran wrapped his arms around Sakura and held her close to him as they kissed.

“Ahh! No!” There was a loud scream from Tomoyo which caused Syaoran and Sakura to part. “What's going on?” Sakura asked Syaoran who replied with a shrug.

Syaoran walked into the living room area which was the previously darkened room. Sakura followed close behind and stepped into the newly lighted room. Syaoran sat down on the couch and Sakura sat beside him, leaning against him. Sitting in front of them were Eriol and Tomoyo sitting on the floor playing Super Smash Bros. Melee. On the television screen it showed Yoshi jumping around from platform to platform with Fire Emblem music playing in the background. Ganondorf was walking slowly toward Yoshi but was sent flying from the Hyrule area by a landmine. The battle was over and Yoshi had won.

“No! You lied to me Eriol! You said Ganondorf was the best!” Tomoyo was red in the face with anger and she glared at Eriol. “No I didn't, I said he was the strongest” Eriol laughed at Tomoyo and chose another character. This time he chose Falco. “This time I'm choosing Peach! I bet I could beat you in less than a minute!” Eriol raised an eyebrow at Tomoyo's proposal “Okay! You're on!” As the battle started Tomoyo had Peach kick Falco. Within thirty (30) seconds Eriol lost “H-how…” Eriol stared at the screen in awe as Tomoyo danced around beside him. “Now you owe me a pop!” Sakura giggled and grabbed the third controller “Can I play?” Tomoyo stopped dancing and sat down “Me and Sakura are on team!” Tomoyo switched the game to the team setting and chose Peach again. “That's not fair! I'm alone” Eriol had already chosen his character as he said this. “No your not, Syaoran can play” Sakura suggested.

“I don't really want to play…” Syaoran replied. “Please… for me?” Sakura pleaded to Syaoran as she gave him the fourth controller. “Fine… but only because you begged me” Syaoran took the controller and grinned at Sakura. Sakura smiled back and chose her favourite character, Zelda. Syaoran also chose his favourite character Roy, and Eriol had chosen Marth who was his favourite.

Eriol and Sakura had died quickly since Tomoyo wouldn't leave Eriol alone, she distracted him as they played, and Sakura hadn't played the game except for once before. Syaoran and Tomoyo were the best two players and it seemed Syaoran would win, but than Tomoyo found a beam sword. Tomoyo loved using beam swords with Peach and could never be beaten if she grabbed one. Syaoran soon died and Sakura and Tomoyo danced their victory dance.

“What do you want to do now?” Eriol asked as he turned off the GameCube. “I'm hungry…” Sakura said, rubbing her stomach. “I'll make something, Eriol! You're helping!” Tomoyo grabbed Eriol's hand and dragged him into the kitchen. “I guess we have to find something to do while we wait” Syaoran stood up and wrapped his arms around Sakura “Ohh! Can we play Narnia? Please…” Sakura loved Narnia, and Syaoran had just bought it a couple of days ago. “Oh alright…” He was kind of disappointed but got The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe videogame. He plugged in the PlayStation 2 for Sakura and got the game set up for her. “Thank you! I love you so much!” Sakura hugged Syaoran and started playing.

Syaoran watched Sakura and remembered the old days when he helped Sakura catch the Clow Cards. He sometimes wished for adventure again, but didn't want to put Sakura in harms way ever again. He hadn't practiced with his sword in awhile, and didn't see why he would need to start. But watching Sakura sitting there made him feel like he needs to protect her. He felt like he would need his sword soon…
