Why Don't You and I Get Together

Chapter I- The Friendly Afternoon

It's a cold wet afternoon in Tomoeda.

High School students complain about this rainy day. Why do they have classes. And one of them is this beautiful girl with the raven locks, who's now on her limo on her way to Tomoeda High School.

I really wonder why do we have classes in this rainy Monday. She wondered, looking out of the window of her car.

"Hey, there goes Tomoyo!"

"There she goes again!"

"Miss campus hearthrob's already here guys!"

The guys and gals whisper and share to one another as Daidouji Tomoyo, the campus heartthrob arrived. But she's not that stubborn. In fact, she's humble and optimistic!

"Hey, good morning Daidouji-san!" some sophomores greeted her.

She smiled and greeted them too.

As the amethyst-eyed young lady arrived in her classroom, she saw her seatmate, who's also famous for being an A student, Hiiragizawa Eriol is his name. He's labeled as "the nerd", but not really in fact.

The girl smirked, slowly walked to her seat.

"BOO!" Tomoyo said aloud with her hands landed on his shoulders. He's busy doing his book report in their English subject.

He ignored her.

She frowned, then put her bag on her chair. "You're so numb, Hiiragizawa-kun! Uh, yeah, your book report. Okay, I'll let you finish that. Sorry!"

He just sighed. "Thanks." He replied coldly, then continued to write.

Tomoyo smiled gently. Yeah, right, he's really a "nerd". She thought. (Mirrorangel05: Oh, the third reason why she's famous `cause she's rumored to have a crush on Hiiragizawa! But, she really doesn't have anyway. She just finds him cute.)

"Good morning Sir Kanzaki." The class of third year section B greeted.

"Good morning too. Regarding about our one-week outing, it is moved next week, on the first of the September." Sir Kanzaki announced to his class.

Kinomoto Sakura, Daidouji's best friend and second cousin commented, "Aww! But why?"

"Freshmen are always first together with the sophomores, remember?" their teacher replied.

Tomoyo frowned. "No! This can't be! All my things are set already!" she protested.

While Eriol, "Good thing it's cancelled." He shared to his seatmate.

She looked at him madly. "Hey Hiiragizawa-kun! What's so good about that? Tell me!"

"It's good `cause I can finish my report on Social Studies regarding the history of Japan. It's until Wednesday, the submission, I think." He told her blankly.

She smirked. "I'm through with that." She replied.

Then he gritted his teeth. (Mirrorangel05: By the way, he's also her number one tival when it comes to academic stuffs.) "You'll pay for this, Daidouji-san!"

She smiled again, then giggled. "C'mon, admit it! You're not the only A student in this class! Am I right, Sakura-san?"

Sakura chuckled. "Right, Tomoyo-san! But I really believe that you two are an A students!"

"See, Hiiragizawa?!" Tomoyo teased.

While Eriol, he just rolled his eyes "Yeah fine. You win this round."

"See, mister!" she added. She really doesn't want to lose In that stuff, you know, she doesn't want herself to be down in their `game', Eriol too.

Afternoon.

Hiiragizawa Eriol is looking for someone to be his companion and someone to talk to. For short, he wants a companion to ride with him in his car.

He doesn't want Syaoran and Sakura. He doesn't want lovebirds.

Chiharu, Rika and Naoko either. Especially that clown, Yamazaki.

How about miss campus heartthrob Daidouji Tomoyo? Well.. let's see if they'll get along..

"Well, like thank you Tomoyo-san! Now I get what that mean old lady mean! I really thank you!" one of her classmates said, as they were walking downstairs.

Tomoyo gently smiled. "No prob, I'm here to help anytime, Megumi."

Megumi went left. "Okay. So, I'll go straight home. How about you?"

She sighed. "I'll go at the mall to buy a new pen, it ran out of ink!"

Megumi giggled. "Okay! So, bye Tomoyo! And, thanks again!"

"No prob Megumi-san!" she said loudly, then turned right.

It's about her fifth step, when someone suddenly asked, "Um, wanna hitch a ride, Daidouji-san?" It was Eriol.

"Ow, it's quite boring in here, Hiiragizawa." She claimed. And she saw a collection of cd that belongs to Eriol.

"Hey, c.d.! May I get one? I mean, let's play one!-"

"No don't! I-"

"It's not a dilemma if it is rock, r and b, pop or mellow! Anything goes for me!" Tomoyo shared as a she put a c.d. on the c.d. player.

Then suddenly, a loud sound of rock was heard on the car. Then she minimized the volume a little. "Now that's better." She whispered.

As the singer started to sing, the girl took a deep breath, then a smile was drawn on her lips. She looked at Eriol.

"Hiiragizawa-kun, you like Linkin Park, don't you? Tell me honestly!" She asked with a curious voice.

He smiled, "I admit that I'm a Linkin Park fanatic, Daidouji-san" he answered while driving.

Her smile drew bigger. "You really do?"

"Yeah.."

"I never met another person who likes Linkin Park, except for you, Hiiragizawa!" she shared to him, looks like they're opening up- once again.

He chuckled. "I can't believe that a girl like you likes Linkin Park, Daidouji-san! You're so cool!" he said back to her, as if he can't believe that a `girly-girl' like Tomoyo will have a fave band like Linkin Park. So, he found her cool.

She smiled. "Of course, I do! In fact, I found Mike Shinoda a good rapper!"

"Well.. Oh anyway, I thought you'll be going at the mall for your pen?" Eriol started, treating already her as a good friend.

"Nah, forget about it! I remember, I have a lots of pen at my room!"

"Very well.. By the way may I take you home?"

She glared at him. "What do you mean?"

He laughed. "Like walk you home! Since we are not walking! Oh, drive you home I should say! Don't think of such things, I'm not interested with you anyway."

She laughed out too. "Me neither! You're not my type for your information."

"Huh? With my good looks you don't like me?" He joked, while she faked a cough.

"Duh! In your dreams!" she answered back sarcastically.

"Then I'll dream." He said in a joking way.

She rolled her eyes. "Whatever." She claimed madly.

Then he laughed. "I knew that you're such an interesting person, Daidouji-san."

Her cheeks flamed. "Not really. But, oh, nevermind."

As they reached the Daidouji Manor,

"*sigh* Thanks, Hiiragizawa, for the ride."

He smirked. "Well no problem, Daidouji-san!"

"That's really kind of you."

"Good thing you realized that I'm not really a nerd."

"Yeah, right! So, friends?" she asked with a ready-to-shake hands.

Then he smiled. "We've been friends since on the fifth grade! Oh, by the way, you're always free to ride in my car whenever you want."

Tomoyo smiled. "Really? You don't mind?"

"Why should I?" Then suddenly Eriol felt a hug from her. His cheeks flamed.

"You're so kind, Hiiragizawa-kun! Thank you!" she claimed as she put her arms back and opened the door of the car.

She looked at him. "Thanks a lot again,"

Then she stepped out, before closing the door, "Bye again! Be careful in driving! So, I advice you not to think of me while driving." She joked.

He chuckled. "Sure Daidouji-san! And I also advice you not to think about me this night `cause you may have the best dream ever!" he answered back.

"Like thanks for the advice! Bye again!" then she closed the door of the car gently.

I never find out Tomoyo's such a great person! Eriol thought again before starting to drive again.

While Tomoyo, Hiiragizawa-kun, I know he has a foolish side! But he's really not that nerd, as he shared to me! She said in her mind, as she saw his car, vanishing in her sight, smiling, then walked to go inside her mansion.
