After dinner, Ran & Shinichi went to Kazuha's & Heiji's room respectively.
“So how have you and Hattori-kun been? Any improvement in your relationship?" Ran asked.
“I’m...I'm planning to give up. I'm trying my best to treat him as a friend...just normal friend," Kazuha said, her expression filled with hurt.
Ran's expression softened and said," Why? Do you love him?"
“I don’t know anymore... I understand that if I don't give up, I may be able to be with him... but I...I'm going to a matchmaking session once I get back to Osaka," Kazuha replied, sounding rather sad.
“WHAT!!! Then you are not planning to tell Hattori-kun?" asked Ran, face filled with concern and surprise.
“Guess not. I'll tell him once I've made my decision. Anyway, I'm planning to accept it....planning to..." answered Kazuha, almost into tears.
“Oh!" Ran replied and hugged Kazuha tightly.
Now, let’s turn our view to Shinichi and Heiji.
“I’ve always want to ask you Hattori. How do you feel ‘bout Kazuha-san?” Shinichi asked, with serious blue eyes looking directly at Heiji.
(Sound of Heiji falling off the chair.) “NANDE IIKINALI! WHY DO YOU LOOK SO SERIOUS WHEN ASKING SUCH QUESTIONS MAN?” yell Heiji.
“C’mon man, I’m just concern ‘bout you and Kazuha-san. Please answer my question.” replied Shinichi.
“Well… I do like her AS A CHILDHOOD FRIEND… I guess… It’s normal that you will not be happy if someone close to you is feeling down… guess you call that sensitive huh?!” answered Heiji, seriously.
“O-K-A-Y! Erm…so you cherish her huh,” said Shinichi.
“You can say so… but it’s DEFINITELY different from those boy-girl relationships. Got that,” replied Heiji.
“Fine! You better reconsider what you’ve said just now… ‘Cause your feelings now is just like my feelings for Ran. Just think it over again man,” Shinichi said while standing up, and he walked out of Heiji’s room.
At the same time, Ran walked out of Kazuha’s room too. They merely looked at each other, and Shinichi placed his arms around Ran shoulders and walked back to their room.
One week files, and it’s time for Heiji & Kazuha to returned to Osaka. They bid goodbye to Ran & Shinichi and headed for the train station towards Osaka. Ran watched them left with worrying eyes.
Kazuha got back home, and her parents quickly doll her up, wearing a light blue with butterfly patterns kimono, and a light make-up. As Kazuha and her parents headed towards Kyoto, Ran, who's feeling uneasy, called Heiji.
