King Peter the Magnificent

 

On August fifth, Peter met a girl. She was as wise as an Archenlander, as beautiful as a dryad, and as stubborn as his sisters.

 

When he was with her, he felt like King Peter the Magnificent again.

On September first, Peter introduced her to Susan and Lucy and Edmund. The girls got on well, but Lucy say his intentions and showed it by the tightening of her lips.

 

He could never truly hbe with her, she said. He was High King over all Narnia, and she could never truly understand.

 

He knew that. But he didn't want to.

On January first, he kissed her.

 

She kissed him back.

On March twenty-second, he bought her a necklace.

 

She asked him to help her put it on.

On August fifth, he began telling her a story. A story of two boys and two girls, destined to be Kings and Queens of Narnia.

On August sixth, she proved Lucy right.

 

And Peter let her go.

King Peter the Magnificent is an Optimist. And he always hoped to find someone who would truly understand.
