Chapter6: The Temporary Freedom Of Aelita
Jeremy felt his heart leaping in utter joy. “LINK GET UP NOW!” Jeremy yelled in Link's ear. “JEREMY HOW MANY DAMN TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THAT!” Link yelled sitting up angrily. “Sorry Link, but I had to tell you the good news, I did it the materialization program for Aelita is complete, now all we need to do is get the principals' go ahead and Aelita can be here in this school.” Jeremy said excitedly. Link nodded smiling and then fell back on his mattress and fell asleep. “Snooze demon.” Jeremy said chuckling at Link. “I heard that know it all.” Link said sitting up again. Jeremy yelped at that and Link began laughing. Jeremy quickly called the others and told them to come over to his room at 3:00. “Jeremy, let's go down and get something to eat, even warriors such us need food in our bellies.” Link said pulling some old clothes on. Jeremy nodded and he and Link went to the cafeteria. “Jeremy I can't believe you finally did it, now Xana will be a thing of the past.” Odd said stuffing his face full of food. “Yeah Einstein now you can finally date Aelita, unless that is Aelita falls in love with Link which I know she will, I mean everybody else has.” Ulrich said laughing at the face Jeremy made. Link smiled sheepishly, and began devouring his own tray. Yumi came up behind Link and grabbed Link by his shoulders. “Yumi you know I hate it when people do that, next time you do that I'll have to beat you silly.” Link said wiping his mouth. Yumi smiled at Link and then hugged him around the neck. Link smiled with a small shade of pink going across his cheeks. Yumi just had to giggle at that. “Man I can't believe that you finally got the materialization program finished Jeremy.” Yumi said smirking at Jeremy. “I know how we can get Aelita enrolled on our school, I'll tell the principal that Aelita's my cousin from Canada and everything will be alright.” Odd said putting up his tray. “You know, for once Odd has a good idea, let's go up there now and see if we can sweet talk the principal.” Ulrich said walking with Odd to the office. Link felt that something bad was about to happen, why he felt this he did not understand. “Hey Link, everything okay?” Yumi asked. “Yeah sure Yumi, just not enough sleep.” Link lied. Yumi looked at Link with concern. Yumi walked to her next class while Link and Jeremy went to Physics. Jeremy sat down trying to calm himself. Today they were taking an important test and Jeremy and Link had already finished. “Ma'am, Jeremy and I have already finished may we go?” Link asked using his charms. “You and Jeremy may go Link.” Ms. Hertz said smiling at Link. Link grinned at Jeremy and they both ran past Ulrich and Odd. “Hey guys everything is set up.” Odd said triumphantly. “Odd I've never said this before but you are the greatest.” Link said taking a step back. “Why are you stepping away from Odd?” Ulrich asked. “Don't want to be struck by the lightning.” Link said pulling Jeremy with him. Jeremy bit his lip so he wouldn't start laughing. Link and Jeremy took off for the factory. Little did they know that Jim was hot on their tail. “Jeremy someone's following us.” Link said looking over his shoulder. “JIM!?” Jeremy said in shock. “All right Jeremy, Link, I 've lost my job but before I leave I demand you tell me what the heck is going on.” Jim barked. Link nodded to Jeremy and they both took of like lightning. Jim tackled Jeremy just as he went down the stairs. “OWW MY ANKLE!” Jeremy yelled in pain. Jim looked at Jeremy ashamed of what he had done. Jim picked Jeremy up and carried him to the infirmary. “Uh, Dorothy I need to go to the bathroom.” Jeremy said trying to get up. “Here go in this basin and if you keep this attitude up I won't give you crutches to walk with.” Dorothy said. Dorothy left and Jim came in quietly. “Listen Jeremy, I'm really sorry for all the trouble I've caused you and your friends I'm going to miss you.” Jim said sadly. “Wait Jim, my friends and I we do have a secret and if you help me out, I'll tell the principal everything.” Jeremy said. Jim considered this and shook Jeremy's hand. Jim picked Jeremy up and carried him out the window. Jeremy called Link on his cell phone telling Link what was going on. “All right Jeremy, I'll be over at the factory as soon as I can.” Link said gathering up some things. Jeremy gave Jim the directions to the old factory. After Jim and Jeremy had rode down the old elevator, Jim was amazed at the super computer. “Don't tell me you understand all of that.” Jim said looking at the data on the computer. “It's not that hard really.” Sam said looking up from where she was sleeping. “Don't worry Sam Jim's on our side.” Jeremy said at the bewildered look on Sam's face. “Hey Jeremy, hi Sam you look tired.” Link said looking at the bags under Sam's eyes. “It's hard to sleep on a steel floor.” Sam said smiling at Link. Jim looked at Link and Sam strangely. “I'll explain later Jim.” Jeremy said looking at the monitor. In a few minuets everyone else arrived at the computer room. “Don't worry guys Jim's with us, it's thanks to him I got here.” Jeremy said. “Hey from now on you guys call Jimbo okay?” Jim asked. “Whatever you say Jimbo.” Odd said chuckling. “All right everyone, I don't expect Xana to go peacefully, so you'll need to protect the tower in the Forest Region until the materialization is done.” Jeremy said. “Sir yes sir.” Link said saluting. Everyone laughed, even Jim. “All right, I think I'll use every gun that delivers quick and heavy damage.” Link said walking over to the armory. Link put in the door code 696 and walked inside. Link got a chain-gun, the BFG, a plasma gun, a shotgun, and a surplus of grenades. “This should get me by for a while at least.” Link said coming out of the armory with his huge load of fire power. “Whoa, Link's BFG is sure powerful sounding.” Jim said reading the description of the BFG on Link's character card. Jeremy smiled as they went to get Aelita. “ All right Aelita, ready to become human?” Link asked. “Yes I am Link, I can't wait to experience Earth the way you do.” Aelita said happily. Link spotted a crab running to them. “You guys stand back, you'll like the chain-gun.” Link said smiling. Link loaded the belts of ammo from the pack on his back. “Let's rock and roll.” Link said getting ready to fire his chain-gun. Link pulled the trigger on the chain-gun and the rounds fired in a loud racket. The crab was ripped to bits by the 30 caliber armor piercing bullets. “Man that thing is really loud.” Odd said slapping his paw against his ear. Link smiled at Odd and they continued to the designated tower. “Guys 5 mega-tanks coming up from behind you.” Jeremy said into his ear piece. Link turned around and unloaded a huge barrage of chain-gun fire into the first mega-tank. Odd was devritualized in a single last. “Idiot.” Link growled under his breath. Link threw down his chain-gun and pulled up the BFG. “Fry.” Link said pulling the trigger. Another mega-tank was blown to dust by the BFG and the explosion caused the Forest Region to shake violently. “Man I was right that BFG thing is amazing.” Jim whistled as the Forest Region continued to shake. After the Forest Region stopped shaking, they continued on their way. “Alright everyone, all you need to do is protect the tower until the materialization is complete.” Jeremy said. Ulrich, Link and Yumi in a triangle formation around the tower. Link saw looking at him. Link grabbed on of his grenades and tossed it in a high arc. The crab looked at the grenade curiously. The crab realized it's error of looking at the grenade and the crab was turned into scarp as the grenade burst under it. “I give it a 10 out of 10.” Yumi said clapping. Link bowed left and right which made Jim and Jeremy laugh. Yumi was caught off her guard by a surprise attack by a mega-tank and was devirtualized instantly. “YUMI!” Link yelled angrily. Link fired his BFG destroying the mega-tank instantly. “STUPID!” Link yelled at himself. “Hey Link it wasn't your fault.” Yumi said leaning on Jeremy's chair. Link nodded agreeing with her just as Ulrich was devirtualized by the last remaining mega-tank. “WHY YOU MECHANICAL MONSTER!” Link thundered. Link tossed a combat knife that he kept strapped to his ankle. The knife pierced the mega-tank's eye. “All right it's done.” Jeremy said triumphantly. Link began a victory dance as Jeremy divertualized him. Link stood next to the transfer pod next to the one he came out of just in case Aelita needed getting out of the pod. Everyone came next to Link. “Welcome to Earth Aelita.” Link said as the steam hissing from the pod vanished. Aelita smiled at Link as he helped her out of the pod. “Well we had better get to class.” Jeremy said who was able to walk some how. “Hey Jeremy, maybe your ankle wasn't broken maybe you just jammed it to hard.” Link said feeling Jeremy's right ankle. Jeremy nodded as he flexed the ankle. Link, Ulrich, Odd, Jeremy and Aelita headed for History. “Listen Aelita, there's no reason to be worried, it's just a History class.” Link said looking at Aelita's nervous face. “I wish it was a class with computers.” Aelita said. “Aelita, if it was a class with computers you would be the teacher.” Link said smiling and putting an arm around Aelita's shoulders. When Aelita entered the History class, every boy stared at Aelita. “Who does that new girl think she is, all she cares about is having boys around her.” Sissy said angrily. Link heard that and almost fell over laughing. Link looked out the window and could have sworn that he saw Portman, Duke, Mac and The Kid. “How can this be there all dead.” Link said in complete astonishment. “Link what's wrong?” Aelita asked looking out the same window. Link sat down next to Aelita and became silent as stone when the teacher came in. “I see we have a new student here with us I'll let her introduce herself.” the teacher said. Aelita stood up, shaking. “Uh, my name is.” Aelita began trembling. “Here name is Aelita she's my cousin she's very shy.” Odd said standing up. “Well Aelita I hope you'll be very happy here at Kadic.” the teacher said. Aelita smiled as did Link. The bell rang and as they all left Link looked over his shoulder and thought he saw Sarge, stalking him. Link went to a corner and peeked around the blind corner. “Link, are you looking for someone?” Aelita asked. Link felt his heart grow cold as he saw Sarge looking at him and smiling. “Get out here and face me Sarge.” Link growled. Aelita looked where Link was looking and saw Sarge as well. Link grabbed Aelita's hand and they took off down the hall. “Link who was that?” Aelita asked as they ran down the hall at break neck speed. “In short, he was my superior officer and we tried to kill each other.” Link said looking over his shoulder to see if Sarge was following him. Aelita looked at Link shocked but recovered when they saw Jeremy in front of them. “Jeremy Aelita and I are being followed by an old enemy of mine, my best guess is somehow Xana found data on Sarge and has possessed him get Aelita away from Sarge at any cost and if anything gets in your way then KILL IT!” Link yelled. Jeremy nodded and he and Aelita ran for the factory as fast as possible. Link turned around to see Sarge standing before him. Link drew a pistol from the back of his pants and pointed it at Sarge's forehead. “You gonna shoot me boy?” Sarge asked mockingly. “ I was thinking about it.” Link said smiling smugly since Sarge was unarmed. “How many shots you got in that gun?” Sarge asked. “An entire clip you?” Link asked trying not to laugh. “I got none.” Sarge said cracking his knuckles. Link broke the pistol over his knee and leaped on Sarge before he knew what had happened. “You're coming with me.” Link grunted dragging Sarge to the factory. “So Jeremy why does Link want Sarge deleted?” Aelita asked. Jeremy took his time to answer that. “Well Aelita I guess Link and Sarge began to loose trust in each other when Link was on the Mars Research facility Olduvai and eventually it lead to the two of them trying to kill each other and I guess Link won that fight.” Jeremy said thinking deeply. Aelita nodded understanding what Jeremy meant. Jeremy heard a loud thump above them. “I guess Link brought Sarge here so he could kill him without anyone else getting hurt.” Jeremy said. Link pinned Sarge against a wall and began slamming his fists into Sarge's gut. “THIS TIME SARGE STAY DEAD!” Link yelled as he repeatedly drove blow after blow into Sarge's stomach. Link then through Sarge to the ground and stood over him. “ So, I guess you do have a little savage in you.” Sarge said spitting out some blood. Link grabbed Sarge by the scruff of his vest and pulled him very close. “You listen to me you maggot from the Underworld, I am no savage you are, you killed a room full of survivors when they were not even infected and then you shot The Kid in the throat, what is wrong with you, you just don't care about anyone but your reputation, YOU ARE THE WORST MARINE EVER!!” Link roared slamming his foot into Sarge's groin. Sarge groaned as he absorbed the painful blow. Link picked Sarge up by his collar and tossed him into a wall. Aelita came up the elevator and saw Link beating Sarge senseless. Aelita was amazed at Link's strength as he would pick Sarge up and slam him down or suplex him. Link sat on Sarge's chest and started slamming his fists into Sarge's skull. Link grabbed Sarge around the throat and began to strangle him. “You know what Sarge, I'm not going to beat you to death, even though you do deserve a painful death, I'm going to shoot you with your favorite gun the BFG.” Link said putting th door code for the armory. Link came out carrying the BFG and sporting a very big smile. “Well Aelita, would you do a countdown to his death?” Link asked looking at Aelita. “Well sure I guess, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Link fire.” Aelita said. Link pulled the trigger on the BFG and Sarge was instantly melted away. “I hope now that The Kid's soul is avenged.” Link said looking at the ceiling. Aelita looked at Link feeling strange. “Well, we better call everyone so we can shut down Xana.” Link said taking out his communicator. Link tapped the screen and put in Yumi and Ulrich's number. “Yumi, call Ulrich and tell him to come over to the factory so we can end this and tell Ulrich to tell Odd the same thing.” Link said looking at Yumi's face on the communicator's screen. “Alright Link consider it done.” Yumi said hanging up making the screen go blank. Link took Aelita back down the elevator and the three of them sat around while Link told Jeremy and Aelita stories from the Olduvai incident. “Well, at least Mac died and didn't feel it.” Jeremy said when told them when he and the rest of the RRTS found Mac headless. “That is so sad that Mac died and didn't have a chance to defend himself.” Aelita said hugging her knees to her chest. “True but you guys won't believe how many dumb things that Portman would say to women.” Link said smiling to himself. Link told Jeremy and Aelita about when the RRTS arrived in the Olduvai airlock and told two women that this was a level 5 quarantine and that he'd have to strip search them. “It took a lot of will power to not laugh myself into a coma, mostly because Sarge didn't think it was funny even though I did.” Link laughing. “What does it mean to strip search someone?” Aelita asked naively. Link and Jeremy looked at each other caught off guard by this. “Well Aelita, to strip search someone is took take off all their clothes and search their belongings.” Link said turning pink. After everyone had arrived in the factory they went down to the area where the main power switch to the entire factory was located. “Xana, you've given us a lot of grief, but thanks to you we met Aelita so good bye Xana.” Jeremy said looking at the switch. Aelita clutched her head in pain. Link noticed this out of the corner of his eye and had very strong feeling that if they were to shut down Xana, Aelita would be affected as well. Jeremy pulled the switch and Aelita fainted. “AELITA!” Jeremy yelled. “I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN!” Link yelled furiously. Everyone looked at Link with shocked expressions. “It was a gut feeling alright.” Link said heatedly at the looks Jeremy and Yumi were giving him. Link stormed away for a reason even he did not understand. Link went to the armory in the northern part of the factory that Sam had built for him. Link typed in the door code and a voice sounded above his head. “RRTS Special Ops clearance verified.” the security scanner chirped. Link grabbed his black armor vest and his ear piece. Link grabbed the chain-gun from the wall. “Handle I. D. Manslayer.” the gun said. Link then pulled the BFG from its stand. “BFG clearance accepted, handle I.D. Manslayer.” the BFG beeped. Link didn't know why, but he felt his should go into the park armed, as if he knew that some kind of monster was waiting for him. Link went through the woods slowly, and he could feel eyes watching his every move. “Come out here, whoever you are.” Link whispered to his cowardly prey. Link heard a growling sound near some trees and let several chain-gun rounds loose. Link walked over and saw a dead wolf corpse. “No normal wolf is this large and it isn't a Warg, wait a second it eyes have Xana's symbol he has defiled these woods.” Link said to himself with great hatred. Link slung the chain-gun on to his back and lifted the BFG. “All right you Xana creeps get out here.” Link said in a challenging tone. Link heard laughter from behind him, spun around pointed his BFG and saw a huge centaur monster in front of him. “Who the hell are you?” Link said aiming the BFG at the centaur's chest. The centaur laughed at Link, as if he should know who the centaur is. “If you must know I am Xana.” Xana said snorting. “How in the name of Nayru are you out of Lyoko?” Link asked putting his finger on the BFG's trigger. “Why would you shoot me, I have done nothing to you directly.” Xana snorted again. Link face screwed up with a new level of anger and hatred. “That is bullshit Xana, somehow you brought Sarge back from the dead, and you made me think I saw my old teammates so you tormented me you cheap lying bastard!” Link thundered. “So I guess I have attacked you directly.” Xana said chuckling. Link pulled the trigger and Xana was turned to dust. “That wasn't the real Xana I know that much.” Link said looking at the large line and clumps of trees that had been caught in the BFG's blast. Link pulled out his communicator and called Jeremy. “Jeremy what I'm about to tell you is true, I just lasted Xana with my BFG.” Link said looking at the screen even though Jeremy couldn't see him. “How is that possible, no towers were reported being activated by the super calculator, but just maybe when Xana encountered you he didn't leave a trail of data that I could see so maybe he doesn't show up when he matrializes himself.” Jeremy said. “That's the thing that I was thinking.”Link said turning his communicator off. Link continued to walk through the forest and met many Hell Knights and Barons. “Xana, if you're trying to bar the way, you're doing a crappy job.” Link said as he blew a Baron to bits with his BFG. Link grabbed an ST grenade and twisted the top off and pressed the blinking red button. Link tossed the ST grenade at a Hell Knight and the ST grenade's energy blast vaporized the Hell Knight almost instantly. “I love these ST grenades.” Link said smiling at the grenades strapped around his belt. Link turned around to find another Xana possessed wolf. “You wolves are nothing but over grown flea bitten mongrels.” Link scoffed as he blasted the wolf with the last round in his BFG. “Well this sorta sucks, no more ammo for my BFG, ah well I've still got a load of ST grenades, the chain-gun and my chainsaw.” Link said laughing at the irony of using the BFG a little too much. Another wolf leaped out at Link, Link turned the chainsaw on and cut the wolf's head in two. “Messy.” Link said spitting some wolf blood out of his mouth. An entire wolf hunting pack rushed Link. Link grabbed another ST grenade and the blast disintegrated the entire pack. “All too easy.” Link chuckled. Back in the factory, Jeremy did a scan on Aelita after she woke up. “Just as I thought, Xana planted a virus in you Aelita, so you'd always be linked to him, and so you should know Link just turned a clone of Xana into microscopic dust with his BFG.” Jeremy said smiling smugly. “Well I bet Xana will consider Link a very dangerous threat.” Jim said. “I think you're right Jim, and not only will Xana consider Link a problem, he'll most likely be going after Link much more than just the rest of us, I don't think that Xana has ever had a match and I don't think that he knows how to handle it.” Jeremy said leaning back in his chair. “Jeremy, why would Xana battle Link when he knows that Link is more than a match for him?” Aelita asked turining her head to one side. “I'm not entirely sure why Aelita, but my theory is that Xana wanted to test Link's courage and strength and he got more than he expected.” Jeremy said laughing at how Xana was destroyed before he could react. Aelita giggled softly while Jim thought this through. Link came up behind Jeremy panting. “What happened to you Link, you're covered in blood?” Jeremy asked looking at Link's armor which was covered in thick black and red blood. “Well Jeremy, Xana tried to stop me from getting here by using wolves, Hell Knights and Barons but to no success.” Link said as he sat down. Link took his weapons off and put his belt down gently, so he wouldn't set off any of the ST grenades. “What type of grenades are those Link?” Jeremy asked. “Those Jeremy are ST grenades, upon detonation the ST grenade explodes in a devastating energy blast with a 5 meter radius.” Link explained. Jeremy seemed very impressed. “Hey Jeremy I'll take Aelita to Yumi's house just in case Xana sends any creatures after us.” Link said putting his belt back on. “Sure, 10 bucks says he's still mad as a hornet at you.” Jeremy said grinning. Link took Aelita's hand and took her to the armory. Link got an automatic shotgun, his machine gun, his rifle and more BFG ammo. “Let's go Aelita your castle awaits.” Link said smiling. Aelita took Link's hand and they left the factory. “Link, doesn't all that weaponry weigh a lot?” Aelita asked looking at the large amount of firepower. “Used to, but not anymore.” Link said flexing his large forearm muscles. Link used his communicator to scan for any foes following them. “Good, nothings following us, strange but good.” Link said putting his communicator back into his pocket. Link thought he heard something moving behind Aelita. “Aelita, take cover soemthing's behind you.” Link said grabbing his automatic shotgun and cocking it. Aelita nodded and got behind a tree. Link turned around and saw something moving towards him. “Come out with your hands or claws up where I can see them and you won't be shot to bits.” Link said activating his guns light. The creature came into view. It was one of those weird half human undead creatures. The undead man ran over to where Aelita was hiding. “STOP!” Link hollered firing every shell in his shotgun. The undead had its lower half blown away. Link went over to the twitching thing and crushed its throat. “Stay.” Link said kicking the dead flesh away. Aelita looked at Link amazed with his will to protect her. Aelita spotted a booth. “Link is that a scanner?” Aelita asked. “No it's not come with me I'll show you what it is.” Link said grabbing Aelita by the hand. For the next 10 minuets, Aelita and Link took pictures inside the boot. As they neared Yumi's house Link grabbed a rose that was nearby and gave to Aelita. “Link this flower is so pretty.” Aelita said sniffing it. Link had to smile at Aelita “You know Aelita, you remind me a lot of myself when I saw the outside world.” Link said putting an arm around Aelita's shoulders. Aelita giggled at Link and they stopped in front of the gate in front of Yumi's house. “Thank you Link, even though I have a virus in me this has been the best night in my life.” Aelita said. Aelita leaned forward and kissed Link on his cheek. Link felt himself blush and went back to his room. Link layed down on his bed and fell asleep quickly. The next morning, Link woke up rather early. Link checked his calender and fell his heart strings being tugged at. Today was the very day that the Olduvai incident had occurred. All of the awful memories from that horrid place came back into his mind like an almighty flood. Link went down to the factory to see Sam. Link found Sam slumped against the wall fast asleep. “Hey Sam, get up.” Link said quietly shaking Sam. Sam looked at Link sourly at first but then smiled sweetly. “Hey honey, what day is it?” Sam asked. “Unfortunately, this is the day that in the future the Olduvai incident happens.” Link said grimly. Sam felt her heart grow cold at the mention of the name Olduvai. Link sat next to Sam and she put her head donw on Link's shoulder. “So the situation with Xana won't be over for some time huh, he's smarter than I thought.” Sam said thinking deeply. Link nodded at that and almost fell asleep again. Sam gave Link a gentle kiss on the cheek which woke Link up. Sam giggled when Link gave her a playfull shove. Sunlight soon poured through the dimly lit factory giving the factory the look of an old haunted house. “You know Link, this place actually looks decent when the light of the sun fills this up.” Sam said looking around the factory. Link looked around and he had to agree. Jeremy and Aelita came in and saw Link and Sam. “Hey there love birds.” Jeremy said smiling smugly. Link saw a chunk of rotting wood and threw it at Jeremy. Jeremy ducked just in time and the wood hit the wall just behind Jeremy's head. “The next time you say something stupid like that I'll hit you and then snap your glasses in half.” Link said smiling at Jeremy. Jeremy stuck his tongue out at Link and Link began chasing Jeremy around the factory at top speed. Jeremy pulled Sam in front of him, using her like a human shield. “Link get back, I've got a woman and I know how to use her.” Jeremy said threateningly. Link put up his hands in mock surrender. “Jeremy, just put the woman down and I won't hurt you.” Link said reasoning with him. “Alright then Link, you win I'll put the woman down and we'll call it even.” Jeremy said putting Sam down. Link walked toward Jeremy with his hand extended in friendship. Link and Jeremy shook hands and ended their fake fude. “There, you see Aelita there are still gentlemen in this world, and one of them is under my control.” Sam said. Link looked at Sam with one eyebrow raised. “You want to run that by me again Sam I didn't quite hear you.” Link said digging one finger into his ear. Sam looked at Link, as if doubting he would do anything to her. “What are you going to do to me?” Sam asked. Link walked up to Sam and he stared her down. “Nothing just this.” Link said. Link began tickling Sam furiosly. Sam fell to the ground wiggling on the cold ground like a fish out of water. “OK, Link I'm sorry for that stupid comment now let me go!” Sam shouted as Link continued to administer the tickle torture. Link helped Sam up and apologized for tickling her silly. “Well unfortunately, we have to go to Physics.” Link said checking his solid gold pocket watch that Milly had given him for Christmas. Jeremy nodded with excitement and the three of them went to Physics. “Sure just leave me here, I'll keep myself busy doing nothing.” Sam said. Link felt himself shaking with laughter as he saw Sam shoot him a rude hand gesture. “Sam is one of a kind, and let's keep it that way.” Link said smiling back at the factory. Jeremy and Aelita laughed. Link sat mext to Aelita so she wouldn't get nervous. As the class progressed, Link felt himself about to fall asleep. Aelita leaned close to Link. “Link wake up.” Aelita said shaking Link gently. Link looked around wildly. “What'd I miss?” Link asked blearily. Aelita couldn't help but laugh at Link. Just as the class was close to ending, a cankcralot burst into the hallway. Ms. Hertz was opening the door and saw the cankcralot. Link pushed Ms. Hertz back into the room and pulled the combat knife from his boot and gripped it in his hands. Link eased the door open, to see the cankcralot searching for someone. Link flicked his wrist and the knife pierced the cankcralot like it's armor was made of styrofoam. Link picked his knife back up and when he looked up he couldn't believe what he saw. “Yo Link, it's me Duke.” Duke said striding up to the Hylian. “Duke, you're here but how?” Link asked thinking that he was seeing things. “Don't really know, but hey the others are here as well.” Duke said smiling. Link grabbed Duke up in his arms, spun him around and gave Duke a bone crushing hug. “You've gotten stronger Manslayer.” Duke said patting Link on his shoulder. The Kid came running down the hall, with what appeared to be oil on his face and armor. “Just greased one of those crab things, it didn't put up much of a fight.” Kid said smiling. Link gave Kid a salute and Kid returned it. “Hey there Boss Man.” Destroyer said holding his chain-gun like it was no problem. “That's you're name, BossMan.” Portman said checking his Plasma Gun. Link went back into the class room and got everyone out. “Portman, make sure nothing happens to these people, Kid go with Portman, make sure he doesn't do anything stupid, Destroyer, you come with me, Duke go and find Goat and tell him to meet us at the old factory, and if you see Mac get him to come to the factory as well.” Link ordered. The group nodded and split. Destroyer guarded from the rear. “Hey Destroyer, isn't that chain-gun heavy?” Odd asked. “No.” Destroyer said as they made their way down the sewer. Link let everyone go up ladder, making sure no freak from Olduvai was follwing them. “Hey Destroyer, you're pretty big how tall are you?” Ulrich asked. “6'6, weigh 220 pounds of nothing but pure muscle.”Destroyer said flexing his bulging bisceps. Aelita felt her face burn when Destroyer gave her a grin. “Girl's cute, how many boyfriends you got?” Destroyer asked holding the elevator open with his chain-gun. “I think I should answer, that would be BossMan.” Odd sang. Destroyer couldn't help but laugh at Odd. “You know kid, you and Portman would get along great.” Destroyer said. Jeremy modified the computer so the rest of the RRTS squad wouldn't loose their memories when they went back to the past. Link told the entire RRTS squad the situation concerning Xana and Aelita. “This Xana guy sounds almost as bad as Sarge.” Destroyer said lifting some chain-gun ammo over his shoulder. Link nodded and tried to contact Mac over the commlink. “Mac can you here me?” Link asked asked adjusting the channel on his headset. “Yeah BossMan, I read you loud and clear.” Mac said walking down the Gym hallway,using his gun's light to see in the semi-darkness. “OK Mac, come to the old factory on the double.” Link said as they prepared to enter Lyoko. “All right BossMan, be there soon as I can.” Mac said. Link nodded and contacted the Kid. “Hey Kid, how is everythin on your end?” Link asked. “Everything seems quiet sir, I guess Xana's minions are more concentrated at you than anyone else, and everyone is safe.” Kid said into his head set. “Good job Kid.” Link said turning his headset off. “Destroyer, stay here and protect Jeremy and make sure nothing comes through this factory.” Link said. Destroyer nodded and stood facing the elevator. Jeremy typed so fast that his hands seemed to blur. Link landed right next to Odd in the Forest Reigion. Link went to his armory and took the BFG from its stand. “BFG clearance verified, handle ID BossMan.” the gun chirped. Link smiled at the mention of his new nickname. “Jeremy, as soon as Goat gets to the factory send him to our position.” Link said into his headset. “You got it BossMan.” Jeremy said into his headset smiling. Link aimed his BFG at an approaching Hell Knight. Link pulled the trigger sending the Hell Knight into oblivion.”That was almost too easy.” Link said putting the BFG on his back sling. Link drew his handgun and loaded a clip into the gun. “Time to go to work.” Link said looking around for any Xana monsters. Jeremy heard the elevator and Destroyer aimed his chain-gun at the elevator coming down. “Goat, you should have used your headset to tell me it was you, I almost shot that elevator to shreds.” Destroyer said lowering his gun. “Goat go into that room and I'll send you to the others.” Jeremy said pointing to the room next to him. Goat nodded and stepped into the first scanner to his left. A few seconds later Goat was in the Forest Reigion. “BossMan, its Goat can you hear me?” Goat asked into his headset. “Loud and clear Goat, good to have you back.” Link said into his headset. “I'm heading to your position, try and stay there as long as you can.” Goat said moving through the trees carefully. Goat turned around and saw a crab walking closer to him. “Suck on this.” Goat said raising his double barreled multi round pump action shotgun and fired. The crab was sent into the air and vanished before it hit the ground. “Metal moron.” Goat said kissing the silver crucifix hanging around his neck. Goat came up behind Link, and Link almost shot Goat through the forehead. “Goat will you please not do that, next time I might not be able to stop myself from putting a bullet through your skull.” Link said smiling at Goat. “Sorry about that BossMan.” Goat said looking down. “Hey it's okay Goat I'm not going to mad at you for something like this.” Link said smiling. Goat actually smiled at Link and they continued on their way. Goat suddenly whipped himself around thinking he saw something moving behind a tree. “Jeremy what do you see?” Link asked into his headset. Jeremy typed a few keys and saw something on the monitor. “It's really big, but it's bigger than a Hell Knight, what is it?” Jeremy asked himself. “Baron.” Link said to himself. “Jeremy, I hate to say this but, contact Portman on comm channel 5990, and tell him to come to the factory.” Link said into his headset. “Sure thing Link, I don't know who this Portman guy is but don't blame me if something stupid happens.” Jeremy said smiling at the screen. “Shutp the hell up Jeremy.” Link growled. Jeremy turned the dial on his own headset to 5990 like Link said. “Portman, this is Jeremy I'm a friend of BossMan's, if you know where the old factory is get here on the double.” Jeremy said. “Whatever kid.” Portman said exiting the school. Portman saw the old factory and snorted. “That place looks like a whorehouse used to be there.” Portman said as he crossed the old metal bridge. “Destroyer, this is Portman, I'm coming down the elevator so don't blast me.” Portman said tapping his headset. “You got it Portman.” Destroyer said. Portman exited the rickety old elevator and looked around the room, apparently amazed. “Nice lab.”Portman said. “It is isn't it.” Jeremy said turning around to face Portman. Portman entered the scanner Goat had used and landed on his back next to Yumi. “Hey there.” Portman said slyly. “Don't start Portman.” Link said looking Portman down. Portman shrugged his shoulders at his CO, feining ignorance. “You better not think I'm easy Portman, I'll smack you across the field if you try hitting on me.” Yumi hissed at Portman. Portman looked at Yumi, apparently impressed. “ I like a girl with a little spice.” Portman said. Link put his pistol into the skin of Portman's forehead. “Portman, if you don't shut your damn mouth I will put an entire clip into your skull.” Link barked. Portman looked at Link, looking scared. Yumi felt her heart laping against her chest when Link defended her honor. Aelita made it to the tower, for some reason they didn't see anymore resistance. “Hey Jeremy, don't you think it's a little on the side of akward that Xana didn't send the Baron after us?” Link asked into his microphone. “You know Link, you are wuite right, it is weird yet nice that the Baron didn't try hunting you all down.” Jeremy said leaning on the computer console. Aelita tapped the interface making the tower deactivate. “Return to the past now.” Jeremy said hitting a key.

Jeremy felt his heart leaping in utter joy. “LINK GET UP NOW!” Jeremy yelled in Link's ear. “JEREMY HOW MANY DAMN TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THAT!” Link yelled sitting up angrily. “Sorry Link, but I had to tell you the good news, I did it the materialization program for Aelita is complete, now all we need to do is get the principals' go ahead and Aelita can be here in this school.” Jeremy said excitedly. Link nodded smiling and then fell back on his mattress and fell asleep. “Snooze demon.” Jeremy said chuckling at Link. “I heard that know it all.” Link said sitting up again. Jeremy yelped at that and Link began laughing. Jeremy quickly called the others and told them to come over to his room at 3:00. “Jeremy, let's go down and get something to eat, even warriors such us need food in our bellies.” Link said pulling some old clothes on. Jeremy nodded and he and Link went to the cafeteria. “Jeremy I can't believe you finally did it, now Xana will be a thing of the past.” Odd said stuffing his face full of food. “Yeah Einstein now you can finally date Aelita, unless that is Aelita falls in love with Link which I know she will, I mean everybody else has.” Ulrich said laughing at the face Jeremy made. Link smiled sheepishly, and began devouring his own tray. Yumi came up behind Link and grabbed Link by his shoulders. “Yumi you know I hate it when people do that, next time you do that I'll have to beat you silly.” Link said wiping his mouth. Yumi smiled at Link and then hugged him around the neck. Link smiled with a small shade of pink going across his cheeks. Yumi just had to giggle at that. “Man I can't believe that you finally got the materialization program finished Jeremy.” Yumi said smirking at Jeremy. “I know how we can get Aelita enrolled on our school, I'll tell the principal that Aelita's my cousin from Canada and everything will be alright.” Odd said putting up his tray. “You know, for once Odd has a good idea, let's go up there now and see if we can sweet talk the principal.” Ulrich said walking with Odd to the office. Link felt that something bad was about to happen, why he felt this he did not understand. “Hey Link, everything okay?” Yumi asked. “Yeah sure Yumi, just not enough sleep.” Link lied. Yumi looked at Link with concern. Yumi walked to her next class while Link and Jeremy went to Physics. Jeremy sat down trying to calm himself. Today they were taking an important test and Jeremy and Link had already finished. “Ma'am, Jeremy and I have already finished may we go?” Link asked using his charms. “You and Jeremy may go Link.” Ms. Hertz said smiling at Link. Link grinned at Jeremy and they both ran past Ulrich and Odd. “Hey guys everything is set up.” Odd said triumphantly. “Odd I've never said this before but you are the greatest.” Link said taking a step back. “Why are you stepping away from Odd?” Ulrich asked. “Don't want to be struck by the lightning.” Link said pulling Jeremy with him. Jeremy bit his lip so he wouldn't start laughing. Link and Jeremy took off for the factory. Little did they know that Jim was hot on their tail. “Jeremy someone's following us.” Link said looking over his shoulder. “JIM!?” Jeremy said in shock. “All right Jeremy, Link, I 've lost my job but before I leave I demand you tell me what the heck is going on.” Jim barked. Link nodded to Jeremy and they both took of like lightning. Jim tackled Jeremy just as he went down the stairs. “OWW MY ANKLE!” Jeremy yelled in pain. Jim looked at Jeremy ashamed of what he had done. Jim picked Jeremy up and carried him to the infirmary. “Uh, Dorothy I need to go to the bathroom.” Jeremy said trying to get up. “Here go in this basin and if you keep this attitude up I won't give you crutches to walk with.” Dorothy said. Dorothy left and Jim came in quietly. “Listen Jeremy, I'm really sorry for all the trouble I've caused you and your friends I'm going to miss you.” Jim said sadly. “Wait Jim, my friends and I we do have a secret and if you help me out, I'll tell the principal everything.” Jeremy said. Jim considered this and shook Jeremy's hand. Jim picked Jeremy up and carried him out the window. Jeremy called Link on his cell phone telling Link what was going on. “All right Jeremy, I'll be over at the factory as soon as I can.” Link said gathering up some things. Jeremy gave Jim the directions to the old factory. After Jim and Jeremy had rode down the old elevator, Jim was amazed at the super computer. “Don't tell me you understand all of that.” Jim said looking at the data on the computer. “It's not that hard really.” Sam said looking up from where she was sleeping. “Don't worry Sam Jim's on our side.” Jeremy said at the bewildered look on Sam's face. “Hey Jeremy, hi Sam you look tired.” Link said looking at the bags under Sam's eyes. “It's hard to sleep on a steel floor.” Sam said smiling at Link. Jim looked at Link and Sam strangely. “I'll explain later Jim.” Jeremy said looking at the monitor. In a few minuets everyone else arrived at the computer room. “Don't worry guys Jim's with us, it's thanks to him I got here.” Jeremy said. “Hey from now on you guys call Jimbo okay?” Jim asked. “Whatever you say Jimbo.” Odd said chuckling. “All right everyone, I don't expect Xana to go peacefully, so you'll need to protect the tower in the Forest Region until the materialization is done.” Jeremy said. “Sir yes sir.” Link said saluting. Everyone laughed, even Jim. “All right, I think I'll use every gun that delivers quick and heavy damage.” Link said walking over to the armory. Link put in the door code 696 and walked inside. Link got a chain-gun, the BFG, a plasma gun, a shotgun, and a surplus of grenades. “This should get me by for a while at least.” Link said coming out of the armory with his huge load of fire power. “Whoa, Link's BFG is sure powerful sounding.” Jim said reading the description of the BFG on Link's character card. Jeremy smiled as they went to get Aelita. “ All right Aelita, ready to become human?” Link asked. “Yes I am Link, I can't wait to experience Earth the way you do.” Aelita said happily. Link spotted a crab running to them. “You guys stand back, you'll like the chain-gun.” Link said smiling. Link loaded the belts of ammo from the pack on his back. “Let's rock and roll.” Link said getting ready to fire his chain-gun. Link pulled the trigger on the chain-gun and the rounds fired in a loud racket. The crab was ripped to bits by the 30 caliber armor piercing bullets. “Man that thing is really loud.” Odd said slapping his paw against his ear. Link smiled at Odd and they continued to the designated tower. “Guys 5 mega-tanks coming up from behind you.” Jeremy said into his ear piece. Link turned around and unloaded a huge barrage of chain-gun fire into the first mega-tank. Odd was devritualized in a single last. “Idiot.” Link growled under his breath. Link threw down his chain-gun and pulled up the BFG. “Fry.” Link said pulling the trigger. Another mega-tank was blown to dust by the BFG and the explosion caused the Forest Region to shake violently. “Man I was right that BFG thing is amazing.” Jim whistled as the Forest Region continued to shake. After the Forest Region stopped shaking, they continued on their way. “Alright everyone, all you need to do is protect the tower until the materialization is complete.” Jeremy said. Ulrich, Link and Yumi in a triangle formation around the tower. Link saw looking at him. Link grabbed on of his grenades and tossed it in a high arc. The crab looked at the grenade curiously. The crab realized it's error of looking at the grenade and the crab was turned into scarp as the grenade burst under it. “I give it a 10 out of 10.” Yumi said clapping. Link bowed left and right which made Jim and Jeremy laugh. Yumi was caught off her guard by a surprise attack by a mega-tank and was devirtualized instantly. “YUMI!” Link yelled angrily. Link fired his BFG destroying the mega-tank instantly. “STUPID!” Link yelled at himself. “Hey Link it wasn't your fault.” Yumi said leaning on Jeremy's chair. Link nodded agreeing with her just as Ulrich was devirtualized by the last remaining mega-tank. “WHY YOU MECHANICAL MONSTER!” Link thundered. Link tossed a combat knife that he kept strapped to his ankle. The knife pierced the mega-tank's eye. “All right it's done.” Jeremy said triumphantly. Link began a victory dance as Jeremy divertualized him. Link stood next to the transfer pod next to the one he came out of just in case Aelita needed getting out of the pod. Everyone came next to Link. “Welcome to Earth Aelita.” Link said as the steam hissing from the pod vanished. Aelita smiled at Link as he helped her out of the pod. “Well we had better get to class.” Jeremy said who was able to walk some how. “Hey Jeremy, maybe your ankle wasn't broken maybe you just jammed it to hard.” Link said feeling Jeremy's right ankle. Jeremy nodded as he flexed the ankle. Link, Ulrich, Odd, Jeremy and Aelita headed for History. “Listen Aelita, there's no reason to be worried, it's just a History class.” Link said looking at Aelita's nervous face. “I wish it was a class with computers.” Aelita said. “Aelita, if it was a class with computers you would be the teacher.” Link said smiling and putting an arm around Aelita's shoulders. When Aelita entered the History class, every boy stared at Aelita. “Who does that new girl think she is, all she cares about is having boys around her.” Sissy said angrily. Link heard that and almost fell over laughing. Link looked out the window and could have sworn that he saw Portman, Duke, Mac and The Kid. “How can this be there all dead.” Link said in complete astonishment. “Link what's wrong?” Aelita asked looking out the same window. Link sat down next to Aelita and became silent as stone when the teacher came in. “I see we have a new student here with us I'll let her introduce herself.” the teacher said. Aelita stood up, shaking. “Uh, my name is.” Aelita began trembling. “Here name is Aelita she's my cousin she's very shy.” Odd said standing up. “Well Aelita I hope you'll be very happy here at Kadic.” the teacher said. Aelita smiled as did Link. The bell rang and as they all left Link looked over his shoulder and thought he saw Sarge, stalking him. Link went to a corner and peeked around the blind corner. “Link, are you looking for someone?” Aelita asked. Link felt his heart grow cold as he saw Sarge looking at him and smiling. “Get out here and face me Sarge.” Link growled. Aelita looked where Link was looking and saw Sarge as well. Link grabbed Aelita's hand and they took off down the hall. “Link who was that?” Aelita asked as they ran down the hall at break neck speed. “In short, he was my superior officer and we tried to kill each other.” Link said looking over his shoulder to see if Sarge was following him. Aelita looked at Link shocked but recovered when they saw Jeremy in front of them. “Jeremy Aelita and I are being followed by an old enemy of mine, my best guess is somehow Xana found data on Sarge and has possessed him get Aelita away from Sarge at any cost and if anything gets in your way then KILL IT!” Link yelled. Jeremy nodded and he and Aelita ran for the factory as fast as possible. Link turned around to see Sarge standing before him. Link drew a pistol from the back of his pants and pointed it at Sarge's forehead. “You gonna shoot me boy?” Sarge asked mockingly. “ I was thinking about it.” Link said smiling smugly since Sarge was unarmed. “How many shots you got in that gun?” Sarge asked. “An entire clip you?” Link asked trying not to laugh. “I got none.” Sarge said cracking his knuckles. Link broke the pistol over his knee and leaped on Sarge before he knew what had happened. “You're coming with me.” Link grunted dragging Sarge to the factory. “So Jeremy why does Link want Sarge deleted?” Aelita asked. Jeremy took his time to answer that. “Well Aelita I guess Link and Sarge began to loose trust in each other when Link was on the Mars Research facility Olduvai and eventually it lead to the two of them trying to kill each other and I guess Link won that fight.” Jeremy said thinking deeply. Aelita nodded understanding what Jeremy meant. Jeremy heard a loud thump above them. “I guess Link brought Sarge here so he could kill him without anyone else getting hurt.” Jeremy said. Link pinned Sarge against a wall and began slamming his fists into Sarge's gut. “THIS TIME SARGE STAY DEAD!” Link yelled as he repeatedly drove blow after blow into Sarge's stomach. Link then through Sarge to the ground and stood over him. “ So, I guess you do have a little savage in you.” Sarge said spitting out some blood. Link grabbed Sarge by the scruff of his vest and pulled him very close. “You listen to me you maggot from the Underworld, I am no savage you are, you killed a room full of survivors when they were not even infected and then you shot The Kid in the throat, what is wrong with you, you just don't care about anyone but your reputation, YOU ARE THE WORST MARINE EVER!!” Link roared slamming his foot into Sarge's groin. Sarge groaned as he absorbed the painful blow. Link picked Sarge up by his collar and tossed him into a wall. Aelita came up the elevator and saw Link beating Sarge senseless. Aelita was amazed at Link's strength as he would pick Sarge up and slam him down or suplex him. Link sat on Sarge's chest and started slamming his fists into Sarge's skull. Link grabbed Sarge around the throat and began to strangle him. “You know what Sarge, I'm not going to beat you to death, even though you do deserve a painful death, I'm going to shoot you with your favorite gun the BFG.” Link said putting th door code for the armory. Link came out carrying the BFG and sporting a very big smile. “Well Aelita, would you do a countdown to his death?” Link asked looking at Aelita. “Well sure I guess, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Link fire.” Aelita said. Link pulled the trigger on the BFG and Sarge was instantly melted away. “I hope now that The Kid's soul is avenged.” Link said looking at the ceiling. Aelita looked at Link feeling strange. “Well, we better call everyone so we can shut down Xana.” Link said taking out his communicator. Link tapped the screen and put in Yumi and Ulrich's number. “Yumi, call Ulrich and tell him to come over to the factory so we can end this and tell Ulrich to tell Odd the same thing.” Link said looking at Yumi's face on the communicator's screen. “Alright Link consider it done.” Yumi said hanging up making the screen go blank. Link took Aelita back down the elevator and the three of them sat around while Link told Jeremy and Aelita stories from the Olduvai incident. “Well, at least Mac died and didn't feel it.” Jeremy said when told them when he and the rest of the RRTS found Mac headless. “That is so sad that Mac died and didn't have a chance to defend himself.” Aelita said hugging her knees to her chest. “True but you guys won't believe how many dumb things that Portman would say to women.” Link said smiling to himself. Link told Jeremy and Aelita about when the RRTS arrived in the Olduvai airlock and told two women that this was a level 5 quarantine and that he'd have to strip search them. “It took a lot of will power to not laugh myself into a coma, mostly because Sarge didn't think it was funny even though I did.” Link laughing. “What does it mean to strip search someone?” Aelita asked naively. Link and Jeremy looked at each other caught off guard by this. “Well Aelita, to strip search someone is took take off all their clothes and search their belongings.” Link said turning pink. After everyone had arrived in the factory they went down to the area where the main power switch to the entire factory was located. “Xana, you've given us a lot of grief, but thanks to you we met Aelita so good bye Xana.” Jeremy said looking at the switch. Aelita clutched her head in pain. Link noticed this out of the corner of his eye and had very strong feeling that if they were to shut down Xana, Aelita would be affected as well. Jeremy pulled the switch and Aelita fainted. “AELITA!” Jeremy yelled. “I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN!” Link yelled furiously. Everyone looked at Link with shocked expressions. “It was a gut feeling alright.” Link said heatedly at the looks Jeremy and Yumi were giving him. Link stormed away for a reason even he did not understand. Link went to the armory in the northern part of the factory that Sam had built for him. Link typed in the door code and a voice sounded above his head. “RRTS Special Ops clearance verified.” the security scanner chirped. Link grabbed his black armor vest and his ear piece. Link grabbed the chain-gun from the wall. “Handle I. D. Manslayer.” the gun said. Link then pulled the BFG from its stand. “BFG clearance accepted, handle I.D. Manslayer.” the BFG beeped. Link didn't know why, but he felt his should go into the park armed, as if he knew that some kind of monster was waiting for him. Link went through the woods slowly, and he could feel eyes watching his every move. “Come out here, whoever you are.” Link whispered to his cowardly prey. Link heard a growling sound near some trees and let several chain-gun rounds loose. Link walked over and saw a dead wolf corpse. “No normal wolf is this large and it isn't a Warg, wait a second it eyes have Xana's symbol he has defiled these woods.” Link said to himself with great hatred. Link slung the chain-gun on to his back and lifted the BFG. “All right you Xana creeps get out here.” Link said in a challenging tone. Link heard laughter from behind him, spun around pointed his BFG and saw a huge centaur monster in front of him. “Who the hell are you?” Link said aiming the BFG at the centaur's chest. The centaur laughed at Link, as if he should know who the centaur is. “If you must know I am Xana.” Xana said snorting. “How in the name of Nayru are you out of Lyoko?” Link asked putting his finger on the BFG's trigger. “Why would you shoot me, I have done nothing to you directly.” Xana snorted again. Link face screwed up with a new level of anger and hatred. “That is bullshit Xana, somehow you brought Sarge back from the dead, and you made me think I saw my old teammates so you tormented me you cheap lying bastard!” Link thundered. “So I guess I have attacked you directly.” Xana said chuckling. Link pulled the trigger and Xana was turned to dust. “That wasn't the real Xana I know that much.” Link said looking at the large line and clumps of trees that had been caught in the BFG's blast. Link pulled out his communicator and called Jeremy. “Jeremy what I'm about to tell you is true, I just lasted Xana with my BFG.” Link said looking at the screen even though Jeremy couldn't see him. “How is that possible, no towers were reported being activated by the super calculator, but just maybe when Xana encountered you he didn't leave a trail of data that I could see so maybe he doesn't show up when he matrializes himself.” Jeremy said. “That's the thing that I was thinking.”Link said turning his communicator off. Link continued to walk through the forest and met many Hell Knights and Barons. “Xana, if you're trying to bar the way, you're doing a crappy job.” Link said as he blew a Baron to bits with his BFG. Link grabbed an ST grenade and twisted the top off and pressed the blinking red button. Link tossed the ST grenade at a Hell Knight and the ST grenade's energy blast vaporized the Hell Knight almost instantly. “I love these ST grenades.” Link said smiling at the grenades strapped around his belt. Link turned around to find another Xana possessed wolf. “You wolves are nothing but over grown flea bitten mongrels.” Link scoffed as he blasted the wolf with the last round in his BFG. “Well this sorta sucks, no more ammo for my BFG, ah well I've still got a load of ST grenades, the chain-gun and my chainsaw.” Link said laughing at the irony of using the BFG a little too much. Another wolf leaped out at Link, Link turned the chainsaw on and cut the wolf's head in two. “Messy.” Link said spitting some wolf blood out of his mouth. An entire wolf hunting pack rushed Link. Link grabbed another ST grenade and the blast disintegrated the entire pack. “All too easy.” Link chuckled. Back in the factory, Jeremy did a scan on Aelita after she woke up. “Just as I thought, Xana planted a virus in you Aelita, so you'd always be linked to him, and so you should know Link just turned a clone of Xana into microscopic dust with his BFG.” Jeremy said smiling smugly. “Well I bet Xana will consider Link a very dangerous threat.” Jim said. “I think you're right Jim, and not only will Xana consider Link a problem, he'll most likely be going after Link much more than just the rest of us, I don't think that Xana has ever had a match and I don't think that he knows how to handle it.” Jeremy said leaning back in his chair. “Jeremy, why would Xana battle Link when he knows that Link is more than a match for him?” Aelita asked turining her head to one side. “I'm not entirely sure why Aelita, but my theory is that Xana wanted to test Link's courage and strength and he got more than he expected.” Jeremy said laughing at how Xana was destroyed before he could react. Aelita giggled softly while Jim thought this through. Link came up behind Jeremy panting. “What happened to you Link, you're covered in blood?” Jeremy asked looking at Link's armor which was covered in thick black and red blood. “Well Jeremy, Xana tried to stop me from getting here by using wolves, Hell Knights and Barons but to no success.” Link said as he sat down. Link took his weapons off and put his belt down gently, so he wouldn't set off any of the ST grenades. “What type of grenades are those Link?” Jeremy asked. “Those Jeremy are ST grenades, upon detonation the ST grenade explodes in a devastating energy blast with a 5 meter radius.” Link explained. Jeremy seemed very impressed. “Hey Jeremy I'll take Aelita to Yumi's house just in case Xana sends any creatures after us.” Link said putting his belt back on. “Sure, 10 bucks says he's still mad as a hornet at you.” Jeremy said grinning. Link took Aelita's hand and took her to the armory. Link got an automatic shotgun, his machine gun, his rifle and more BFG ammo. “Let's go Aelita your castle awaits.” Link said smiling. Aelita took Link's hand and they left the factory. “Link, doesn't all that weaponry weigh a lot?” Aelita asked looking at the large amount of firepower. “Used to, but not anymore.” Link said flexing his large forearm muscles. Link used his communicator to scan for any foes following them. “Good, nothings following us, strange but good.” Link said putting his communicator back into his pocket. Link thought he heard something moving behind Aelita. “Aelita, take cover soemthing's behind you.” Link said grabbing his automatic shotgun and cocking it. Aelita nodded and got behind a tree. Link turned around and saw something moving towards him. “Come out with your hands or claws up where I can see them and you won't be shot to bits.” Link said activating his guns light. The creature came into view. It was one of those weird half human undead creatures. The undead man ran over to where Aelita was hiding. “STOP!” Link hollered firing every shell in his shotgun. The undead had its lower half blown away. Link went over to the twitching thing and crushed its throat. “Stay.” Link said kicking the dead flesh away. Aelita looked at Link amazed with his will to protect her. Aelita spotted a booth. “Link is that a scanner?” Aelita asked. “No it's not come with me I'll show you what it is.” Link said grabbing Aelita by the hand. For the next 10 minuets, Aelita and Link took pictures inside the boot. As they neared Yumi's house Link grabbed a rose that was nearby and gave to Aelita. “Link this flower is so pretty.” Aelita said sniffing it. Link had to smile at Aelita “You know Aelita, you remind me a lot of myself when I saw the outside world.” Link said putting an arm around Aelita's shoulders. Aelita giggled at Link and they stopped in front of the gate in front of Yumi's house. “Thank you Link, even though I have a virus in me this has been the best night in my life.” Aelita said. Aelita leaned forward and kissed Link on his cheek. Link felt himself blush and went back to his room. Link layed down on his bed and fell asleep quickly. The next morning, Link woke up rather early. Link checked his calender and fell his heart strings being tugged at. Today was the very day that the Olduvai incident had occurred. All of the awful memories from that horrid place came back into his mind like an almighty flood. Link went down to the factory to see Sam. Link found Sam slumped against the wall fast asleep. “Hey Sam, get up.” Link said quietly shaking Sam. Sam looked at Link sourly at first but then smiled sweetly. “Hey honey, what day is it?” Sam asked. “Unfortunately, this is the day that in the future the Olduvai incident happens.” Link said grimly. Sam felt her heart grow cold at the mention of the name Olduvai. Link sat next to Sam and she put her head donw on Link's shoulder. “So the situation with Xana won't be over for some time huh, he's smarter than I thought.” Sam said thinking deeply. Link nodded at that and almost fell asleep again. Sam gave Link a gentle kiss on the cheek which woke Link up. Sam giggled when Link gave her a playfull shove. Sunlight soon poured through the dimly lit factory giving the factory the look of an old haunted house. “You know Link, this place actually looks decent when the light of the sun fills this up.” Sam said looking around the factory. Link looked around and he had to agree. Jeremy and Aelita came in and saw Link and Sam. “Hey there love birds.” Jeremy said smiling smugly. Link saw a chunk of rotting wood and threw it at Jeremy. Jeremy ducked just in time and the wood hit the wall just behind Jeremy's head. “The next time you say something stupid like that I'll hit you and then snap your glasses in half.” Link said smiling at Jeremy. Jeremy stuck his tongue out at Link and Link began chasing Jeremy around the factory at top speed. Jeremy pulled Sam in front of him, using her like a human shield. “Link get back, I've got a woman and I know how to use her.” Jeremy said threateningly. Link put up his hands in mock surrender. “Jeremy, just put the woman down and I won't hurt you.” Link said reasoning with him. “Alright then Link, you win I'll put the woman down and we'll call it even.” Jeremy said putting Sam down. Link walked toward Jeremy with his hand extended in friendship. Link and Jeremy shook hands and ended their fake fude. “There, you see Aelita there are still gentlemen in this world, and one of them is under my control.” Sam said. Link looked at Sam with one eyebrow raised. “You want to run that by me again Sam I didn't quite hear you.” Link said digging one finger into his ear. Sam looked at Link, as if doubting he would do anything to her. “What are you going to do to me?” Sam asked. Link walked up to Sam and he stared her down. “Nothing just this.” Link said. Link began tickling Sam furiosly. Sam fell to the ground wiggling on the cold ground like a fish out of water. “OK, Link I'm sorry for that stupid comment now let me go!” Sam shouted as Link continued to administer the tickle torture. Link helped Sam up and apologized for tickling her silly. “Well unfortunately, we have to go to Physics.” Link said checking his solid gold pocket watch that Milly had given him for Christmas. Jeremy nodded with excitement and the three of them went to Physics. “Sure just leave me here, I'll keep myself busy doing nothing.” Sam said. Link felt himself shaking with laughter as he saw Sam shoot him a rude hand gesture. “Sam is one of a kind, and let's keep it that way.” Link said smiling back at the factory. Jeremy and Aelita laughed. Link sat mext to Aelita so she wouldn't get nervous. As the class progressed, Link felt himself about to fall asleep. Aelita leaned close to Link. “Link wake up.” Aelita said shaking Link gently. Link looked around wildly. “What'd I miss?” Link asked blearily. Aelita couldn't help but laugh at Link. Just as the class was close to ending, a cankcralot burst into the hallway. Ms. Hertz was opening the door and saw the cankcralot. Link pushed Ms. Hertz back into the room and pulled the combat knife from his boot and gripped it in his hands. Link eased the door open, to see the cankcralot searching for someone. Link flicked his wrist and the knife pierced the cankcralot like it's armor was made of styrofoam. Link picked his knife back up and when he looked up he couldn't believe what he saw. “Yo Link, it's me Duke.” Duke said striding up to the Hylian. “Duke, you're here but how?” Link asked thinking that he was seeing things. “Don't really know, but hey the others are here as well.” Duke said smiling. Link grabbed Duke up in his arms, spun him around and gave Duke a bone crushing hug. “You've gotten stronger Manslayer.” Duke said patting Link on his shoulder. The Kid came running down the hall, with what appeared to be oil on his face and armor. “Just greased one of those crab things, it didn't put up much of a fight.” Kid said smiling. Link gave Kid a salute and Kid returned it. “Hey there Boss Man.” Destroyer said holding his chain-gun like it was no problem. “That's you're name, BossMan.” Portman said checking his Plasma Gun. Link went back into the class room and got everyone out. “Portman, make sure nothing happens to these people, Kid go with Portman, make sure he doesn't do anything stupid, Destroyer, you come with me, Duke go and find Goat and tell him to meet us at the old factory, and if you see Mac get him to come to the factory as well.” Link ordered. The group nodded and split. Destroyer guarded from the rear. “Hey Destroyer, isn't that chain-gun heavy?” Odd asked. “No.” Destroyer said as they made their way down the sewer. Link let everyone go up ladder, making sure no freak from Olduvai was follwing them. “Hey Destroyer, you're pretty big how tall are you?” Ulrich asked. “6'6, weigh 220 pounds of nothing but pure muscle.”Destroyer said flexing his bulging bisceps. Aelita felt her face burn when Destroyer gave her a grin. “Girl's cute, how many boyfriends you got?” Destroyer asked holding the elevator open with his chain-gun. “I think I should answer, that would be BossMan.” Odd sang. Destroyer couldn't help but laugh at Odd. “You know kid, you and Portman would get along great.” Destroyer said. Jeremy modified the computer so the rest of the RRTS squad wouldn't loose their memories when they went back to the past. Link told the entire RRTS squad the situation concerning Xana and Aelita. “This Xana guy sounds almost as bad as Sarge.” Destroyer said lifting some chain-gun ammo over his shoulder. Link nodded and tried to contact Mac over the commlink. “Mac can you here me?” Link asked asked adjusting the channel on his headset. “Yeah BossMan, I read you loud and clear.” Mac said walking down the Gym hallway,using his gun's light to see in the semi-darkness. “OK Mac, come to the old factory on the double.” Link said as they prepared to enter Lyoko. “All right BossMan, be there soon as I can.” Mac said. Link nodded and contacted the Kid. “Hey Kid, how is everythin on your end?” Link asked. “Everything seems quiet sir, I guess Xana's minions are more concentrated at you than anyone else, and everyone is safe.” Kid said into his head set. “Good job Kid.” Link said turning his headset off. “Destroyer, stay here and protect Jeremy and make sure nothing comes through this factory.” Link said. Destroyer nodded and stood facing the elevator. Jeremy typed so fast that his hands seemed to blur. Link landed right next to Odd in the Forest Reigion. Link went to his armory and took the BFG from its stand. “BFG clearance verified, handle ID BossMan.” the gun chirped. Link smiled at the mention of his new nickname. “Jeremy, as soon as Goat gets to the factory send him to our position.” Link said into his headset. “You got it BossMan.” Jeremy said into his headset smiling. Link aimed his BFG at an approaching Hell Knight. Link pulled the trigger sending the Hell Knight into oblivion.”That was almost too easy.” Link said putting the BFG on his back sling. Link drew his handgun and loaded a clip into the gun. “Time to go to work.” Link said looking around for any Xana monsters. Jeremy heard the elevator and Destroyer aimed his chain-gun at the elevator coming down. “Goat, you should have used your headset to tell me it was you, I almost shot that elevator to shreds.” Destroyer said lowering his gun. “Goat go into that room and I'll send you to the others.” Jeremy said pointing to the room next to him. Goat nodded and stepped into the first scanner to his left. A few seconds later Goat was in the Forest Reigion. “BossMan, its Goat can you hear me?” Goat asked into his headset. “Loud and clear Goat, good to have you back.” Link said into his headset. “I'm heading to your position, try and stay there as long as you can.” Goat said moving through the trees carefully. Goat turned around and saw a crab walking closer to him. “Suck on this.” Goat said raising his double barreled multi round pump action shotgun and fired. The crab was sent into the air and vanished before it hit the ground. “Metal moron.” Goat said kissing the silver crucifix hanging around his neck. Goat came up behind Link, and Link almost shot Goat through the forehead. “Goat will you please not do that, next time I might not be able to stop myself from putting a bullet through your skull.” Link said smiling at Goat. “Sorry about that BossMan.” Goat said looking down. “Hey it's okay Goat I'm not going to mad at you for something like this.” Link said smiling. Goat actually smiled at Link and they continued on their way. Goat suddenly whipped himself around thinking he saw something moving behind a tree. “Jeremy what do you see?” Link asked into his headset. Jeremy typed a few keys and saw something on the monitor. “It's really big, but it's bigger than a Hell Knight, what is it?” Jeremy asked himself. “Baron.” Link said to himself. “Jeremy, I hate to say this but, contact Portman on comm channel 5990, and tell him to come to the factory.” Link said into his headset. “Sure thing Link, I don't know who this Portman guy is but don't blame me if something stupid happens.” Jeremy said smiling at the screen. “Shutp the hell up Jeremy.” Link growled. Jeremy turned the dial on his own headset to 5990 like Link said. “Portman, this is Jeremy I'm a friend of BossMan's, if you know where the old factory is get here on the double.” Jeremy said. “Whatever kid.” Portman said exiting the school. Portman saw the old factory and snorted. “That place looks like a whorehouse used to be there.” Portman said as he crossed the old metal bridge. “Destroyer, this is Portman, I'm coming down the elevator so don't blast me.” Portman said tapping his headset. “You got it Portman.” Destroyer said. Portman exited the rickety old elevator and looked around the room, apparently amazed. “Nice lab.”Portman said. “It is isn't it.” Jeremy said turning around to face Portman. Portman entered the scanner Goat had used and landed on his back next to Yumi. “Hey there.” Portman said slyly. “Don't start Portman.” Link said looking Portman down. Portman shrugged his shoulders at his CO, feining ignorance. “You better not think I'm easy Portman, I'll smack you across the field if you try hitting on me.” Yumi hissed at Portman. Portman looked at Yumi, apparently impressed. “ I like a girl with a little spice.” Portman said. Link put his pistol into the skin of Portman's forehead. “Portman, if you don't shut your damn mouth I will put an entire clip into your skull.” Link barked. Portman looked at Link, looking scared. Yumi felt her heart laping against her chest when Link defended her honor. Aelita made it to the tower, for some reason they didn't see anymore resistance. “Hey Jeremy, don't you think it's a little on the side of akward that Xana didn't send the Baron after us?” Link asked into his microphone. “You know Link, you are wuite right, it is weird yet nice that the Baron didn't try hunting you all down.” Jeremy said leaning on the computer console. Aelita tapped the interface making the tower deactivate. “Return to the past now.” Jeremy said hitting a key.
