Memories, no matter how amazing…how erotic, can still be painful. The time they shared with one another is relived as Faye remembered the night that changed her life forever. Faye x Spike, AU, WAFF, Lemon, Het

Faye lay on her bed looking at the cold gray ceiling of her quarters. A sigh escaped her lips as she reached up to rub her red-rimmed eyes. Tears threatened to spill once more but some how, she managed to keep them at bay.
A cold nose caused her to jump, tearing emerald green eyes from the ceiling to the small brown and white dog. “Hey Ein.” She murmured and struggled to get up, but eventually made her way into a sitting position, using the wall for the much-needed support of her back. A delicate hand came to rest on her large belly as Ein hopped up and placed his head on her thigh; a sorrowful whine escaped the canine, bringing a sad smile to trace her lips. “You miss that bastard too?”
To that question she received two answers, from two very different sources. Ein yipped as if in agreement while a strong kick/punch combo within her abdomen caused her to wince and smile. “So much like your father, my little demon.” She said as a tear traced down her cheek, her hand rubbing soothing circles over the roundness, proof of her gravid state.
“I miss him too.” She whispered softly and waited for the tightness in her throat to pass. Faye's eyes slowly drifted closed for a few moments before she began to speak.
“For some reason, I knew your father wouldn't be coming back the next time he left the ship. I…I had a dream, a nightmare really, that plagued me for days. It was so overwhelming, so damn powerful that I felt as if all the air had been painfully squeezed from my lungs.
“Each night I pushed myself out of bed, wandering the halls, but each time I found myself outside of his quarters, too afraid to knock. I was afraid that I would find him gone, never to return again. Call me a coward, but I simply couldn't do it.
“Yes little one, your mother was a coward…is a coward and weak,” Another kick within her womb caused a small snort to escape. “Don't argue with me kid. It's only the truth.” Faye lifted her shirt…well, actually the overly large shirt was one of Spikes, but she it was one of the only things she could sleep in and feel comfortable.
“I would sit outside of his door, my eyes closed as I listened for signs of life within his quarters, just to make sure he was still here with us. You don't know how relieved I became when I heard the bed creak when he moved in his sleep, or hearing the TV turn on when he finally decided to give up on trying to sleep.
“A few days before he left, the nightmares were so intense, I woke up crying. Yes, your mom does cry. Quite often now days, but I knew I wouldn't be going back to sleep so I began to roam the halls again and found myself outside of your fathers door, only this time, he found me…” She said softly, her eyes becoming glazed and distant as a small smile traced her lips.
-=-Eight Months Ago-=-
Spike pressed the door control and sighed, fully intending to grab a beer out of their dwindling food and drink supply. It was yet another sleepless night for him, but over the last week, it was nothing new but still a little worse than normal. As he stepped into the corridor, a flash of pale skin covered by dark crimson fabric caught his eye.
Spike pushed away the strange feeling that flowed through him at seeing her wearing the shirt that had mysteriously disappeared from the laundry a few months before. He gazed down at her as tired yet frightened eyes stared up at him. The lanky man moved into a crouch and ran his fingers through wild dark brown hair that appeared nearly black.
No words escaped his lips as he took her hands in his and pulled her to her feet. The large button up shirt hid her hands mostly from view and the bottom hem stopped just about mid thigh on her smaller form. He guided the distressed woman into his quarters. After making sure she was comfortable, he moved to the door. “I'll be right back.”
She watched as the man who had haunted her dreams as of late, left the room, her eyes on his strong pale back as he vanished through the door. Faye moved a found herself lying on the bed, still slightly warm from his body heat.
Green eyes blinked slowly as the weariness in her body reared it ugly head, causing her to fight the need for sleep away. To sleep meant more dreams which was not what she wanted or needed at the moment. Faye allowed herself to take comfort in the scent that permeated the room. It wasn't at all offensive and she found herself allowing her body to relax and sink a bit deeper into the mattress.
After having a few minutes alone to calm herself, Spike re-entered his quarters with two beers in his hand. One was handed to her as she sat up before he took a seat next to her. They both cracked open their drinks and took a drink, allowing the cool alcohol to settle within them. It was then that Spike broke the silence.
“So you wanna tell me why you've been so out of it?” He said before taking another drink.
Faye looked over to him over to him before scooting back on his back on his bed and tucked her leg beneath her body, the shirt hiking up a bit, exposing a bit of her thigh. Spike's eyes couldn't' help but to be drawn to the flash of skin for a split second before turning more to face to the woman.
The green-eyed woman bit her lip for a moment before letting out a sigh as she tried to figure out exactly how to say what she needed to the man before her.
“Whatever it is Faye, “ He started causally but the concern was clear in his rust colored eyes. “It's causin' you to walk the halls at night.” Her eyes widened a bit as he continued.
“At night I've been hearing someone roaming the halls. I always thought it was Edward and Ein.” He said. It was well known that Edward could usually be found roaming the halls with her four-legged sidekick, Ein.
“Nightmares…” She murmured and closed her eyes so she wouldn't have to see his expression at hearing that a grown woman was having bad dreams.
“You've been having nightmares?” He repeated. Her voice her had been so quiet that he had almost missed what she said. But it was confirmed when she took a long swig from her beer before nodding and allowing her head to impact the metal wall with a thud.
Keeping her eyes on the ceiling, the troubled woman began to speak, her voice just above a whisper. “I don't know why its been happening…but I don't want to see it in my dreams…I really don't want to see it happen outside of them…” She babbled. “There's always so much blood…”
He watched her as she described the images that plagued her in her sleep. This was not the Faye he knew. This wasn't the gambling, bounty stealing and irritating woman that he had come to consider a friend. This Faye seemed, for lack of a better word, broken. The wild haired man was pulled from his musings of her when he heard more troubling words spill from her lips.
“…Spike, seeing you like that…in my mind; it scares me. I don't want anything like what I've been seeing to happen. When I wake up…I can't go back to sleep. I keep thinking that one morning you won't be here…that you'll be lying somewhere bleeding to death or dead..
“You…you, Jet and Edward of the only source of stability in my fucked up life…I don't want to lose my friends-” A dry chuckle escaped her as a tear coursed down her cheek. “As much as you all drive me crazy sometimes.”
Green eyes moved from where they had been focused on the ceiling to meet Spikes dusky crimson. “You probably think that I've finally totally and completely lost it.”
Spike didn't even hesitate. Strong arms reached out to her and gently grasped her arm. He pulled her close before lifting her easily into his arms as he moved slightly to rest his back against the wall, his pillow acting as a cushion. He could feel her stiffen in his arms for a few moments before relaxing in his embrace.
“Spike, you don't have to do this. I'm not a kid…I just had a few bad dreams. I needed…to know you were okay.” Faye murmured, half asleep already in his arms.
Spike laughed softly, drawing the blanket up over their forms. “I know you're not a kid, Faye, but everyone has nightmares from time to time.” He said and noticed that she had already fallen asleep in his arms. Spike reached over and grabbed the TV remote and turned it off. Spike looked down to the mischievous woman who had caused him grief on more than one occasion and sighed, wrapping his arms tighter around her. As his eyes drifted closed, he tried not to think about how good it felt to hold her in his arms like this.
-=-
The sensation of something wet against his chest caused Spike's eyes to drift open and gaze down at the sleeping woman in his arms. She made now sound other than the rapid breaths that escaped her lips. Tears slowly rolled down her cheeks and subsequently, his chest became damp with the crystalline drops.
“Shh…” He whispered and rubbed soothing circles on her back, not sure what else to do for her. To know that she cared enough for him to make sure he was safe from the dark images that haunted her in her dreams, well, it both warmed him and sent a cold chill down his spine. He was no stranger to ominous recurring dreams, but it still bothered him that she was going through this.
He had to wake her up.

Faye held her hands over the bleeding gunshot wounds in Spike's chest as blood bubbled from his lips, his lungs irreparably damaged. Green eyes met crimson-brown, the life quickly fading from them as she tried to save his life.
She saw the sad smile that traced his lips as her name spilled from his bloody lips.
“Faye…”
“No Spike! Please, don't go…” She whimpered as his eyes began to close and his chest stilled. “No…”
“Faye…” The voice was louder and more urgent. It was confusing. It was clear that spike had just died; yet she could hear him calling to her over and over.
“Faye! Wake up!”
Green eyes shot open and stared up into his worried rust colored eyes, noticing that one seemed a bit redder than the other. The shaking woman reached up and brushed her hand against his cheek, feeling the warmth that came with life. She watched as his hand, no longer stained with blood as it had been in her nightmare, gently held hers as he turned his head to kiss her palm.
“I'm okay Faye. It was just a dream.” He said, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb.
“I hate this.” She said softly, pulling back to look at his chest. She sighed with relief when she saw that there were none of the gaping wounds that had marred the pale skin of his chest. Fingers traced across his skin, sending a shiver through his form that even she felt. She watched as his larger hand moved to entwine with her free one.
To both, the thoughts of how good it felt to hold and be held by someone; to comfort and be comforted, ran through their minds. Sure, they had their spats and what Jet would call `knock down, drag-out battle royals' but despite all of that, they knew that they could depend on one another when it came down to it.
Faye's head came to rest on his shoulder, the soft skin of her cheek against his. His comforting scent wrapped around them like the blanket that covered them both. Her eyes had begun to drift closed, only to have images of his wounded body filter into her mind's eye once again. She jumped and shivered deeply in his arms as she tried to push it away.
He knew she was still startled, and couldn't calm herself. Spike pressed his lips against her forehead in a soft kiss that caused a soft sigh and a tremble to be emitted from her smaller body. His eyes widened when he felt her lips brush against his collarbone once, twice, three times. His hand tightened around hers as his blood began to heat up. “Faye…”
“Sorry…” She whispered against his skin.
Spike couldn't help himself. The dark haired man released her hand and grasped her chin gently, forcing her to look into his eyes. “Don't apologize. You haven't done anything wrong…this time. Everyone knows that Faye just isn't the apologizing type.” He said with a smile, earning one from her in return.
“Damn straight,” She gave a small laugh. “Faye Valentine apologizes to no man.”
“Don't I know that.” He replied with a snort. Spike saw something in her eyes change. It was a momentary flash that he couldn't quite describe. He didn't know that she had seen the same flicker in his own crimson brown.
It was as if some unseen force was slowly pushing them together, but neither felt the need or desire to stop it. Spikes arms wrapped around her as their lips brushed against one another's gently, shyly. Green eyes closed as she felt his soft lips press against hers, his thumb gently running up and down her side. A small gasp escaped her lips when she felt his tongue brush against her lower lip.
Spike took that opportunity to deepen the kiss, loving the soft and needful whimper that escaped her lips. He pulled back a few moments later, his pulse racing, pushing heated blood through his body, causing him to harden within his pajama bottoms.
Faye shifted in his lap and felt him pressed against her thigh. She watched as her dark colored nails ran across his tone stomach in response to his caress. Shivers of the memories that came with the dreams caught spikes attention just as their lips met again.
The plum haired woman pushed back into his lips passionately and moved to her knees, spike responded and pulled her body to his, feeling her slight weight on his thighs as she straddled him. The kiss broke, leaving them both breathless.
“Spike…”
“Are you sure, Faye?”
“Yeah…make me forget about the dreams…please…” She said softly. Her lips moving to brush against his neck, a small sad smile tagging at her kiss swollen lips.
Spike nodded in response, not really knowing what to say. His hands that had come to rest on her rounded hips slowly trailed their way up her sides as she continued her exploration of his skin with her lips. A soft moan escaped his lips as she nipped at his collarbone before kissing the same spot.
Large, strong hand brushed against her breasts through the crimson cotton blend shirt that she had commandeered, watching as she arched into his touch. Spike trailed a finger around her nipple before moving to the buttons. One by one they were released before the shirt was pushed off her creamy shoulders. The fabric was tossed carelessly to the floor, exposing her to him fully.
Normally, Faye was anything but shy, but under his intense gaze, an arm came up to block her breasts from his view. However, Spike brought his hand up and grasped her small arm gently.
“Don't hide from me Faye. You're beautiful.” He said before placing soft kisses against the silky skin of her breasts, his tongue moving to run around her nipple before it disappeared between his lips. Her body jolted and a gasp escaped her lips, causing a groan to be emitted from the larger male when her core brushed against his manhood.
Her skin was flushed; a direct result of the attention that spike was paying to her full breasts. He lavished them with gentle nips, kisses, licks and gentle suckling, loving the sounds of her moans. Spike pulled away from her distended nipple and saw the passion dancing in her dark eyes. Their lips met in a passionate kiss as hands roamed her lower back, her lips rolling against his seductively.
Without warning, Spike rolled her, pinning her smaller form beneath his. Their kiss never breaking as her hand trailed down his toned stomach to the waistband of his pajama bottoms. Fingers lingered on the thin trail of hair beneath his naval before following it as it disappeared below the dark fabric. She felt his body still for a moment before a shudder traveled through his body when her hand wrapped around his swollen shaft.
“Faye…” Spike moaned, bringing his head to rest on her breast as her hand began to move. He couldn't remember the last time his body felt `this' sensitive. Not even while he was still with Julia…
Spike closed his eyes tight as his body continued to tremble. Now was defiantly not the time to be thinking about the blonde woman from his past.
Shifting his weight, the wild haired man reluctantly pulled away from her skilled hand and couldn't help the small smile at her sound of protest. His hands moved from her knees, caressing her thighs until reaching her hips. Her shorts and panties were removed in a single, smooth motion and tossed to the ground, forgotten before they hit the floor.
He could feel her passion darkened green eyes on him as he removed his bottoms, allowing them to create a dark pool at his feet. Spike moved back to the bed, between her parted thighs, causing the mattress to shift at the motion.
Without words, Spike moved down and pressed his lips against hers. His tongue danced lightly against hers. A cry of pleasure was muffled by his mouth as his fingers dipped into the damp folds of her womanhood.
Their lips parted as he continued to stroke her pearl, loving the sounds that escaped her kiss-swollen lips. Her hips lifted, trying to get more of his wonderful touches and caresses. His shaft throbbed almost painfully at feeling her breasts pressing against his chest.
Spike placed on last kiss on her lips before kissing his way down her chest and toned belly. His tongue dipped into her belly button before moving down between her creamy thighs. Dusty crimson looked up to the emerald eyes watching him intently with a look that caused his blood to simmer.
The scent of her sex teased his senses as he dipped his tongue into her glistening folds, causing her to cry out. His tongue danced around her jewels as two fingers slipped into her center once more, stretching her in preparation.

Her body felt as if she were going to explode. Every nerve, every cell in her body was burning as he sucked at the bundle of nerves. His fingers scissored and stretched her gently as she writhed beneath him. Perhaps there had been some there had been some warning, but her pleasure ridden mind didn't process it as her womanhood clamped around his strong fingers, a silent scream forming on her lips.
Spike kissed her inner thighs gently as she sunk back into his mattress. He watched the rapid rise and fall of her breast as she came down from her high before moving into position between her thighs.
“Please Spike…”
The wild haired man nodded as she reached down between them and grabbed is cock, placing it at her entrance. A hiss escaped his lips as he slowly slid forward until he was buried deeply within her beautiful body.
Her walls quivered around him as he allowed her to adjust to his size. It took all of his willpower not to push forward and start drilling into her sweet core. Spike watched as she nodded and reached for him, pulling him down to kiss him tenderly as she shifted her hips pulling him in deeper.
His body shook as he began to pull out before slowly pushing back in. They began a gentle, slow rhythm, hips moving against hips, lips caressing lips and hands roaming anywhere and everywhere that was within reach. The age-old dance of two bodies joining together to become one, seemed even more glorious that either had ever experienced. The need and passion that they felt for one another, could not be denied by even the gods themselves.
“Oh gods…Spike, please…faster…”
“Faye…” He murmured, his voice deep and rough as harsh pants began to escape his lips. His arms hooked beneath her legs as he adjusted his position before increasing his speed, causing her to cry out loud, heedless of what their shipmates may have heard.
“Yes! Oh Spike!” Faye cried out, her nails clawing into his back as his cock plowed into her welcoming body.
Suddenly the ship fell from around her as her body clamped down on his penis. His lips crushed against hers as she cried out, her body shaking, her canal milking him rhythmically.
He could hold back no longer. A deep moan, almost sounding like a growl, rumbled in his chest as his essence erupted into her heated core, filling her with his seed and triggering another wave of contractions to flow through her. His hips jerked forward in time with the spurts as he emptied his sac into her.
Faye opened her eyes in time to see his meet hers before he collapsed heavily against her. Soft kisses were placed on his temple as he kissed along her collarbone while they came down from their high. A soft sigh escaped both their lips as he pulled out and moved to lie beside her, pulling her into his arms.
“That…was amazing…” He said softly.
“It was…” She agreed and gazed into his eyes, her eyes shining with unshed tears. “Thank you…”
“No need…” Spike leaned forward and kissed her deeply before pulling back to stare into her incredible green eyes. “Rest now.”
“Kay…” She snuggled into his arms and before he knew it, she was sleeping peacefully in his arms.
The man with the rust colored eyes reached down and grabbed his blanket and pulled it over them before allowing a soft, contented sigh to escape his lips before falling into a deep sleep.
=-=
Faye shook herself from her musings and reached up to feel tears coursing down her cheeks once more, but knew that a smile traced her lips. Her hand began to stroke her belly once more as she began to speak to her baby and the little brown and white dog staring up at her lazily.
“Your father…is a wonderful man. I know everyone says that he's dead, but I refuse to believe it. I will never believe it. He's too damn stubborn to die.” She said with the smile still on her lips.
“Maybe one day we'll find him. He'll give that knowing and oh-so-irritating smirk of his…and though sometimes it drove me crazy….I can't wait to see it again. Then he'll get a chance to meet his child.
“Little one, you are his legacy…and I know that you will grow up to be strong just like him, no matter if you're his little girl or boy.”
Her eyes closed. `Spike…I know you're out there. Until we meet again…stay safe…stay alive…'
So yeah…this is the first fic that I've written in the Cowboy Bebop fandom. Just so you know, I do have a bit of an issue with Julia, but I wont do any Julia bashing. Please let me know if I should continue with the small sequel that I have in mind…depending on response, I might just think about doing a second part.
