Planning
What is going on in Hell? There seems to be someone planning
something down there. Oh? What is this? It appears that someone is
awake.
His eyes. The swirls of fire woke him up. A small smile spread
across his face.
“He's back.”
How long had it been? He couldn't tell anymore. When he died in
battle, there was no point for his existence. So he went to sleep
for centuries. It would have stayed that way too.
But… something has changed.
“It's him.” There was no mistaking it. He lifted his head. His
rival came back. His empty socket burned. He didn't forget. He was
going to repay him the favor. A pained smile spread across his
face.
“Too long. Too long.”
He has a family now. A wife and a daughter. It was the little
girl's birthday. The wheels started to turn in his head. He knew
what he had to do next. But first, there needed some things that
had to happen.
He tried to move his right arm. Still stuck in place. This would
not do. On the plus side, he still has some strength left inside of
him. First, was his fingers. He got his right index finger to move.
As he tried to move his body, elements of his plans started to come
together. He could see what they were going to do next. He saw
where they were right now.
Now, he was one to plan big. Still, he was a demon who saw reason.
He wasn't going to go all out in one powerful go. No. Everything
needed to be done step by step. In fact, he was working on the
first step now.
He could feel his fingers again. Now for the rest of his hand. He
opened and closed it in his mind before he could actually do it.
The rest of his arm followed. Soon, he could move both of his arms.
He sat up and moved his remaining eye around. The flames around him
reminded him of his last battle between Heaven and Hell. These
weren't as intense as they were on that battlefield. Still, a sense
of nostalgia filled his cold dead heart. If he could, he would've
loved to relive it all again.
He closed his good eye and took it all in.
“Mmm.”
And just like, he could stand. He opened his eye and looked down at
his body. A cold smile spread across his face.
“Perfect.” That part of his plan was completed. He looked up at the
flaming sky overhead. Van Gough had nothing on this view. Well, he
wasn't going to be seeing this sky for a while. He held up his hand
in the sky and closed his good eye. He started chanting under his
breath. The blue flames formed at his feet. They jumped up and
consumed his body. He chuckled to himself.
And then he was gone.
