Lovely Fighter
Vita and Zen had completed their part of the task. Now for Motoko to go in and do the next part. “She” left Hell early in the morning. The demon looked all “her” in the living realm. Mars looked just the same as any other city to “her.” Then again, when a demon has lived for a long while, the cities look the same no matter where they go. No matter! There had work to be done at the moment. Motoko shut “her” eyes tightly. “She” let “her” soul seek out Amadeus. That old angel was weak, but he was still alive. So, this search would take a little while.
Motoko opened “her” eyes smirking. “Found him!” “she” thought. Then, the demon held up “her” hand and shut “her” eyes again. “She” began softly chanting. The cold black light began to form. It jumped up from the ground and swallowed “her” whole. Not a trace of “her” remained.
The Golden Cock bar always stayed open into the wee hours of the bar. Spike sat inside with his third drink. Sakura was taking a rest back on the Bebop. She sure deserved it for yesterday's adventure. Good for him. The time away gave him a moment to figure out what to do with the problem at hand. Sakura's shin heart was starting to activate. It wouldn't be long before she fell corrupted. This problem could not be stopped. But how to delay it? Spike wasn't one for plotting things. That was Jet's area. The cowboy was more for action. So maybe Jet will come up with something, once he and Ume were squared away. One can hope that would be soon. Spike had a feeling time was now the enemy with him. Yet, the race to save Sakura was put on the backburner at the moment. For, another bigger problem had just sat down next to him.
Spike heard someone breathing softly in his ear. He let his eyes drift over to his left. A person that appeared to look like a woman was leaning in too close to him. “She” seemed to be grinning at him. “She” had on what looked like a schoolgirl uniform with black fishnet stockings. “Her” hair was done up into two long ponytails on the sides of her head. To the outside viewer, this “woman” looked like a hooker trying to pick up Spike as “her” for John for the night. Spike however, didn't look interested. The cowboy moved away some.
“Can I… help you?” he asked, sounding slightly offended. The “woman” grinned at him still.
“Are the famous Spike Spiegel?” “she” asked. Spike raised an eyebrow at “her.”
“Who's asking?” he questioned. The “woman” smiled at him still. She leaned in close again while Spike pulled back.
“Well, are you?” the “woman” asked again. The cowboy rolled his eyes. Anything to get this damn barfly off of his back.
“Yes,” Spike answered. “Now what do you want with me?” Motoko grinned at him.
“Excellent!” “she” said. Then, the “woman” cuddled up closer to Spike. The cowboy tried to push the barfly off.
“Look now,” he said. “I already have a girlfriend!” The “woman” looked at him with a sharp look in “her” eye.
“Really now?” “she” asked. “So it is true! You are dating that tenshi-chi Sakura Tenshi!” The cowboy looked at him sharply. He began to draw out his gun. The barfly stopped him just in time.
“Tsk-tsk!” “she” whispered loudly. “It's not wise to draw a gun out in public!” Spike glared at “her.”
“How do you know about Sakura?” he questioned. “And who the hell are you?!?” The “woman's” eyes lit up as “she” grinned at him even more.
“Come outside with me,” “she” said. “I've got all of the answers you need!” The barfly pulled away and gracefully walked out of the bar. It then Spike discovered who “she” was. This “woman” had been trying to fight him for the whole day. The attacks ranged from wide open to silent and ninja like. Spike just couldn't get “her” at all. What the hell was with this “woman?” But yet, that wasn't the biggest surprise just yet. The cowboy was convinced that the barfly might not be a “woman” after all. Only one way to see. Spike got off of his bar stool and followed “her” outside.
Motoko lead “her” target all the way into an abandoned alley. Spike looked around as he put his hand to his gun. He kept his eyes locked on the “woman” ahead of him. Good fighting senses told him “she” would attack right about now. Spike waited as he plotted his counter attack. But, the “woman” didn't attack. “She” snickered at him under “her” breath. Spike caught it right away.
“And what the hell is so damn funny, bitch?!?” he snapped. Motoko didn't speak at all. “She” slowly turned around. Spike got a good look at her face. This “woman” had her face done up like a geisha tonight. And suddenly, the cowboy felt as if he had stepped into an old samurai movie. Only, this one was more of a reject that was pulled out of theaters just after opening day. “She” smirked at him boldly.
“Why do you care to know so much about me, anyway, Spike?” “she” questioned him in a mocking way. “Is it because you're in love with me? Oh dear! What would poor Sakura-chan think if her boyfriend dumped her for another woman?” Spike became angry now.
“Cut the crap, you bitch!” he snapped. “Now tell me what's going on! Who the hell are you and what do you want?!? Why do you keep trying to fight me for?!?” “She” snickered at him for a little bit.
“Well okay then,” his opponent replied. “I will tell you.” She drawn out her long black and golden-handled kantana for the tenth time today and held it out ready to attack.
“My name is Motoko. I am a demon from Hell,” “she” replied. “I have been sent here to fight the legendary Amadeus!” The cowboy looked at “her” like “she” had just fallen off the crazy train.
“Who the hell is that?!?” he snapped. Motoko still kept “her” gaze on him. “Her” lips curved into a heavy smirk.
“Lost your memory, huh?” the demon asked in a loud voice. “Well then, I still make you remember!” “She” lowered “her” sword and reached into “her” blouse. Spike looked away for a moment as “she” did so. Motoko pulled out a decorated hand gun and at aimed it at “her” target. Spike looked at “her,” smirking.
“Oooo! You think a gun can scare me?” he challenged. Motoko smirked at him still.
“Not really,” “she” said. Then, the demon pulled the trigger. Spike didn't hear the gunshot at all. He didn't even see a single bullet coming at him either. All he knew was that he had been hit in the head and was now stumbling around to maintain his balance.
