The Ghost of You.
-I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show. And I thought that being strong meant never loosing your self control.
Faye knew when she woke up that morning that Spike would be gone. She knew no matter what she said or did he would leave. It still didn't take the hurt away. Her eyes began to tear before they even opened for the first time that morning. Last night she had given Spike everything. She let her guard down, showed him how she felt, and now she would most likely never see him again.
After about an hour of crying, she decided to get out of bed. Upon doing so, she noticed a small piece of folded paper on her night stand. She bit down on her lip and closed her eyes before snatching it up.
See you around.
Love Spike
A tear ran down her cheek, but she quickly wiped it away. She had to get out, she had to get her mind off of him. She let the piece of paper fall from her fingers and to the floor, and then hurried to get dressed.

Several months later she was still the same woman she had been the morning she woke up alone. Now she accepted the fact that he was gone and never coming back. She accepted the fact that he was dead. She had to become sane again, but not for herself this time. This time she needed to do it for her child.
She ran a hand over her stomach, watching the shadows on her ceiling. He had given her a part of him. She had something to remember him by. Sometimes she would catch herself wondering how she would be able to do it alone. In those times, Jet was there. He was there when she found out, he was there for all of her doctors appointments. She wasn't aware, but he had fallen in love with her.
A knock came to the door, and Jet popped the door open to peek his head inside.
"You alright?"
"I'm fine .." She sat up and looked at him. "Are you alright?"
"What do you mean? You are the one who is pregnant."
"Yeah, but you spend so much time worrying about me .. you don't take care of yourself." He laughed shaking his head.
"Don't worry about me Faye, I'll be just fine." She sighed then layed back.
"Mind if I sit with you for a while?"
"Of course not." He pushed the door open the rest of the way, and then moved to sit beside her on the bed. He couldn't help but take her hand in his.
"I promise you everything will be alright .." His rough thumb caressed her soft fingers. "Whenever you need me I will be here...."

Against Jet and her doctors orders, Faye wondered along the busy streets alone. She knew it was dangerous, but the only time she had to herself was when she was alone in her room on the Bebop. She was always starting at the same four walls day in and day out. It was starting to make her sick. Her eyes wondered the signs to the stores until one caught her eye. She smiled, and made her way to the small, vintage clothing store.
She made her way up and down the small aisles, stopping every few minutes to look at an article of clothing, or a piece of jewelry. Then it happened. She felt a warm fluid rushing down her thighs, and quickly turned to run to the front of the store.
"Help me! Somebody! Please!" An older woman approached her.
"What's wrong dear?"
"My water ... my water just broke!" She began crying hysterically.
"It's alright dear, I will get you to a hospital .." She turned to a phone sitting on the counter and began to dial. "Don't worry, this is all a natural part of life .. nothing to get crazy over."
"I'm not due for another two and a half fucking months!" Her knees tightened together, and she grabbed hold of the counter. Her hand attached to her stomach, and she moved to sit on the floor.
"Hello! I need and Ambulance! A young woman is about to have her baby in my store! She says she's not due for another two and a half months!" Faye leaned against the counter and her eyes slid closed. The womans voice slowly faded, and in one more second, she was gone.

"Faye .. Please wake up .." Swearing she heard Spikes voice, she forced her eyes to open. "Hey .. you really scared me .." It was Jet. Her lip began trembeling, and as much as she wanted to hold back her feelings, she couldn't. She began bawling. Tears rushed freely down her cheeks, and something bought her back to reality and reminded her that her water had broken.
"Oh my god!" She felt her stomach, and that normal bulge was no longer there. "Where is my baby!" Although it almost killed her, she popped up as quick as she could, nearly ripping the IV right out of her hand. "Where the hell is my baby Jet!"
"Faye .. please calm down .."
"No, I won't calm down until you tell me where my baby is!" He held her arms and pretty much had to force her to lay back down.
"She's here .. in the hospital .. but something isn't right."
( Hows that for a cliff hanger?? Sorry guys .. didn't mean it .. but it happens sometimes. Hope you continue with the story!)
