Cowboy Bebop Fan Fiction ❯ The Sunset Risin' in Your Eyes ❯ The Twisting Road ( Chapter 2 )
The Sunset Risin' in Your Eyes
We meet another old friend…
He fingered the picture, tracing the woman in its delicate face, her sparkling emerald eyes, and her shining blue-back hair. She was grinning and her hair band was knocked askew; it was the best picture of Faye he had. She was beautiful in this picture, so different from Julia, so vibrant and full of life, yet they both possessed a certain appeal, something that spoke of the hardness in their lives.
He made his hand into a fist, crumpling the picture with his movement. She would be his, he would make sure of that, she was beautiful, and he liked collecting beautiful things. She would be faithful to him, unlike Julia, and she would be loyal, out of fear or love he didn't care. So he pulled up the video camera he had in planted in her room and watched her. Recently she had been working as a whore, he sneered, he could forgive her, she was desperate, and he would take care of her once she was with him. His eyes slanted, he really needed to kill the man that was hurting Faye, he made a mental note to hire a hitman later. He returned to stare at the video footage of Faye.
She was crying, she hadn't cried since the very first month she had left the Bebop. He assumed it was from the visit he'd arranged with Spike. He snorted, tossing his white hair out of his face, Spike was an idiot. He called Julia's cell phone.
"Julia. Has the job been delivered?"
"Vicious, fuck off, Spike is coming and I have to be nice and innocent. I'll check." She hung up and he glared at the phone. It didn't really matter, he was over her, the lying bitch, and she just worked for him now. She always wondered why he hired her, well it was because he was keeping her close to him so that when she wasn't useful anymore he could easily exterminate her and the love-sick Spike that followed her like a puppy.
That reminded him, he needed to find the ex-Bebop members, and they played a fairly large part in his plan. He grinned, Faye would be his, whether she wanted to be his or not.

Spike sighed; his meeting with Faye hadn't gone quite as well as planned. He was just going to have to kidnap her or something. He smiled at the image of him slinging a kicking and screaming Faye over his shoulder and dragging her out of that hellhole apartment. He really was very confused why she hadn't taken his job offer.
He had offered her an escape from being a slut, living in that crappy apartment and he would probably have gotten her medical attention. He scowled, he couldn't believe Faye, confident, independent Faye, had been reduced to whoring herself out. Even if she didn't take the job, he was going to have to get her another job.
He swung by the bookstore where he always met Julia. And he saw her there, sipping her coffee and staring at a rather large book. Spike snuck up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder.
"Morning, Julia." She jumped and looked as if she was going to spill her coffee all over herself but then she collected herself sighed and said in a rather cold voice.
"Oh, hi Spike." He frowned at her but sat down across from her.
"Faye turned the job you offered her down." He had assumed Julia was starting her own syndicate or whatever, because she kept getting jobs for him. He frowned at the expression that chased across her face, a scared little half-frown which disappeared as her face settled back into a serene smile.
"Oh, well. We can try her again later." He frowned, remembering what state Faye had been in, "trying her again later" didn't sound like a great idea, but whatever.
"So Julia, any new jobs for me?" He watched her rustle through the small briefcase at her side and sighed when she said:
"Nope, not yet, try me again tomorrow, okay?" She smiled and then looked down at her watch and frowned.
"Oops, got to go. I'll meet you here tomorrow." She kissed him on the cheek and walked rapidly out the door. He frowned and settled into the uncomfortable wooden chair. Julia seemed to get farther and farther away from him with every passing day, she hadn't kissed him on the lips for at least three weeks, not to mention coming back to his apartment for a night alone. She always seemed busy and preoccupied. He wandered home and thought maybe he'd call Jet tonight.
Well that chapter was short then normal. Gomen nasai, please review.
Oh, if anyone is interested about the title it's because a euphemism for having a shiner. So because Faye has two black eyes, the sunset is rising in her eyes. ^.^
