Faye sank lower into the comfortable seats, watching the lights spin by. She looked down at her arm, were one of her worst cuts had been and was relieved to see it all sewn up. She wasn't even wearing her normal clothes, instead finding herles in a red tank top and some tan capris. She scowled, she probably looked about fifteen in these clothes. She had lost a lot of weight, and now was very slim, with almost no muscle tone. She wondered why Spike had woken her up in the first place, they obviously weren't anywhere near their destination.

Why'd ya wake me up?"

"You looked dead." He answered curtly, not looking at her at all, just staring straight ahead. She sighed, knowing that when he got that tight cast to his jaw she wouldn't be able to get a straighter answer then that.

She started as she realized she knew every one of his little habits, and behavior so well. This was not a good sign, that she remembered so much about someone she had tried so hard to forget.

Faye's memory was a fickle thing she had decided, it always came and went whenever it wanted, twisted itself into the most annoying loops when she couldn't think, and went into super drive when ever Spike was around. Almost like Faye herself. She let her thoughts wander away from the memories of Spike, most were just too painful for her to handle right now.

She had been so happy! So goddamn happy, and while Spike made her happy, he also took it away. She frowned and tried to keep the morbid thoughts at bay.

She was calm. She could sleep.

She was calm, she could sleep.

She wasn't calm, and she felt as if she was about to cry.

She was brought out of her deep reverie, and also almost slammed headfirst into the seat in front of her as Spike jolted to a stop. They were in front of a gigantic hotel, that appeared amazingly expensive.

"We're here." He grabbed a bag she immediately recognized as her old duffel, and quickly jumped out and walked around to help her out.

"Grow some manners, Spike?" She couldn't help it, she wanted him to notice her, to look at her, not to stare at the floor, as if she wasn't even there. He growled but didn't say anything. He strode away, and she found herself hobbling as fast as she could after him into the lobby.

"Ow! Ow! Fuck! Ow! Dammit Spike! Fuck! Slow down!" She grimaced as he didn't respond, and tried to ignore the stabs of pain which where turning her legs into very gelatinous rubber. He looked back and saw how far she was behind him, then turned and walked quickly back to her. He studied her for a second as she glared rather pointedly at him.

"I don't want to do this Faye, but we need to get back to the hotel room quick." He grimaced for a second as she looked at him bewildered, and then swooped over and cradled her in his arms, and started walking again. She stared at him for a moment, shocked, until she decided she was to tired to through a fit, and it was much more comfortable letting him do the exercise. He was so warm; she snuggled closer to his chest and dozed off.

She was so light. Too light. He looked down at her and frowned. She was asleep. She looked much more innocent asleep, her lips relaxed into a smooth red cupid's bow, her head slumped slightly on his chest. The livid marks on her face stood out in stark relief to the pure whiteness of her complexion, and the shiny darkness of her hair. She looked so much younger, in normal clothes, with her features relaxed in sleep.

When he reached the hotel room, he methodically opened it, locked every single bolt, and took of his coat, with out waking Faye, who was still clutching his waist. Once he found the bedroom in the humongous room, he attempted to set her on the bed, only to find she had latched on to his waist very tightly. When he tried to pry her off him, the only response he got was being clutched even tighter, so tight it hurt to breath.

"You're a pest even when you're asleep, you know that?" He laid down next to her, and she nestled under his arm, mumbling something about warmth and safety. He sighed, it had been a tiring day for him to, and tomorrow he had to find Jet.

And the last thought that swept through his sleepy mind was how beautiful Faye looked when she wasn't insulting him.

It was hard but warm. She rubbed her face lightly against the warmth, opening her eyes to glare at whatever had woken her up. She started slightly when she realized she was laying in bed with someone.

A very familiar someone. Someone who had his arm wrapped rather securely around her waist. They were both wearing their clothes which gave her both a rush of relief and disappointment. She scolded the side of herself that was disappointed.

Spike mumbled and let go of her waist, but quickly rolled closer to her, shielding her with his body as he returned to clutching her to his chest.

"Hey Spike, Psst! Spike!" She sighed as the only response she got was more mumbles and him saying something about a pony. She realized she was never going to wake him, she knew better then anyone Spike normally slept like a rock. She settled back against him, and let his rhythmic breathing lull her back to sleep.
