Rei stood there in shock as she watched the only other member of her people die at the hands of Vicious. She still felt that his death was unjust, even though Vicious had provided himself with plenty of justification for killing Stinger. What was his real name? She knew it began with an "A" but she could remember nothing else. She watched Vicious sheathe his sword, then stiffened as he walked up to her.

"Don't stick up for him. He was warned numerous times. He got what he deserved. You know damned well how I felt about it. He was just waiting for me to let my guard down. Then he was going to strike," Vicious said as he took her hand.

"How are you going to protect yourself at the party since you killed him?" Rei asked.

"It's not like I have a shortage of men. I'll find another who isn't as ambitious as he was."

"It's truly amazing."

"What are you talking about?"

"How you can easily kill people based off of your skewed logic and yet when it comes to me..."

"I don't understand it either, but if you choose to resent me for my decision. I can always drop you off on Titan and leave you there. If you die in trying to survive the harsh elements on Jupiter's largest moon, that would be your own doing. Not mine."

"Is that a threat?"

"It's merely a fact and you can do nothing to dispute it. Your fangs aren't nearly as long as his were. Also, your nature is not combative. You can do nothing to back up your threats if you made any."

"He was the only one of my kind that I knew and you took that away."

"There are other Talibans in the syndicate. He wasn't the only one. Are you upset about this because he was the first one that took liberties with you?"

"No."

"That was a sharp reply."

"He was the only one that talked to me when you were gone. Your house isn't exactly filled with people. Stop."

"Isn't it interesting how quickly my mind can change when I'm with you?"

"It's unnerving sometimes. Especially now with his body close to us."

"It's only a body. It can't do anything. But, if it upsets you...I suppose we can move over a bit."

"A bit? You are dead to emotions, aren't you? You feel nothing about death and killing."

"Someone once said that life is like a dream. Emotions are what govern dreams. If you have no emotions than all you have is reality."

"But are you truly living?"

"Life is all a matter of personal judgment. You alone decide how you want to deal with it."

"You're right. I never thought of it like that. Don't..."

"Even though my thoughts spoke clearly? Never forget the alternative you had to coming with me. You would have eventually been killed or locked up by the police."

"You're right. I should be more grateful."
