James Turner, the owner of the Stargate Institution had his escape all planned out. He grabbed his coat from the coat rack and ran out the doors down to the parking lot where a car sat waiting for him.

"Let's go before that bastard closes the gap, he said.

"I still think that pissing Vicious off is not your smartest idea," the driver said as he sped off. A thud came from the roof of the car and James glanced nervously around.

"It's only some water. See? It's beginning to rain."

"Guess I'm just nervous."

"Who wouldn't be? You shot that woman of his."

"Only after I had deadened her ability to use telepathy. I wasn't fool enough to try it without that."

"Yet you're crossing Vicious."

"He planned to kill me. I did what I could to survive."

"You'll still be dead when he catches up with you."

"Not if I outrun him."

"How in the hell do you outrun the syndicate?"

A sword point came flashing through the roof of the car. James screamed in terror. A boot smashed one of the back windows and a hand reached in and dragged the stunned institution owner out of the car. The driver slammed on the brakes and Vicious pulled out his sword from the top of the car and after kicking James off, jumped to the ground.

"Try to run, coward. You won't get far," Vicious hissed.

James scrambled to his feet and ran for his life. Vicious watched him coldly then walked slowly after him. Slowly he walked, each step seemed to ring out on the deadened street. The air had grown cold as a wind struck up and played with Vicious' trench coat. He paid no attention to the weather change as he continued to go after his prey. Death was his as he thought about the shocked look on Rei's face when the bullet struck her.

Thankfully, it wasn't a fatal injury but he would make the bastard pay just the same. He had been extremely foolish to shoot her and Vicious knew that he would make Turner see the error of his ways.

James Turner ran on, but he was quickly growing tired. Fear was the only thing that pushed him forward. He tripped over a piece of garbage lying in the street and fell flat. He scrambled to stand, knowing full well that Vicious would be upon him in a matter of seconds.

"Idiot," Vicious hissed and James stood frozen with terror. "First you prolong her stay, cheat me and then attempt to kill her. What in the hell did you expect to gain from this? If it was death, you've got it. And believe me, I'm going to enjoy killing you."

"Please have mercy!" James cried.

"Mercy."

Vicious' eyes grew even colder as he stared at his prey.

"Mercy. I think not. You gave her no mercy so why the hell should I give any to you? You made things a lot worse for her. Why should I give you the honor of mercy?"

His eyes had grown cold, like the icy winds of Titan where he had once fought. Complete terror gripped his prey as he watched the streetlights glint off of Vicious' blade. Vicious swung his weapon multiple times and watched blood spring forth from the multiple wounds he had inflicted on his target.

"Why...didn't you...just kill me...straight off?" his prey gasped and Vicious grinned.

"This is much more satisfying," he replied.
