Cowboy Bebop Fan Fiction ❯ Unveiled Emotions ❯ A lost battle ( Chapter 14 )
"You are up to this, aren't you?" Vicious asked as he crawled onto the bed.
"Just don't do it hard. I would hate to become unconscious in the middle of something," Rei said as he placed his hands on her bare thighs.
"I'm not cruel."
"I know, but we both want it. Your thoughts keep straying to what you want to do to me."
Vicious kissed her bare stomach then watched her sit up. She was still slightly in pain but she was determined to please Vicious. Their mouths met and Vicious forced his tongue deep within Rei's mouth. He felt her body move closer to him as she responded to his silent command. There was no need for words to direct the two in a sort of intimate ballet. All he had to do was think about what he wanted and she would allow him to have it. The bed was their own, the one place where they did not need to worry about enemies and death. It was the freedom that Vicious needed to have, Rei noted as he stroked her inner thighs. She closed her eyes as he moved higher, using his fingers as a probe as she leaned back in his left arm, her face blushing slightly as she reached up to touch her face.
Vicious drew back and Rei opened her eyes, fully aware of his thought. I can't. Not tonight.
"What did I do?" she asked as he turned away from her and lit a cigarette.
"It's not you," he said as he gazed out the window. "It's my memories."
She laid her hands on his bare back and began stroking it.
"Please tell me."
"I can't. I can't allow you to know this."
"Can you at least finish what you started?"
She had moved her hands lower and around to the front where she began stroking a very responsive muscle. Vicious grabbed her hand and pulled it away. She cried out in pain as she held her injured hand close to her chest.
"What did I do? Please talk to me."
"I can't. There are some things that I can tell no one. Not even you."
"But…"
"No, Rei. Don't even push it. Right now you remind me of my past."
He got dressed and walked towards the door. Rei stood up and followed him.
"Vicious…" she said then stopped when she heard his silent threat. She watched him walk out of the room and tried to hold back her tears. She did not know what she had done to make him so upset but she wished that she could take it back. She ran her hands over her bare chest as she thought about how good it would have been…
"I don't mean to torment you, Vicious," she whispered as she stared at the closed door.

Vicious sat in the study and poured himself another glass of wine. He wanted to think, to sort things out but he knew he couldn't because Rei could hear every one of his silent words.
"Damn," he hissed as his bird shifted its weight on the perch located near his desk. "Why did that memory have to surface? Why then? Why did I have to remember something from that time then? I can't tell her everything. She can barely cope with her own past. She still has memories of what her father tried to do to her. I guess that's the problem. Both of our scars run deep."
The telephone rang and Vicious picked up the receiver.
"What is it?" he demanded then listened to the voice on the other end. "All right. I'll be there."
He hung up the phone then glanced at his pet.
"I hope you're hungry. I may have some prey for you. The Blue Dragons are moving into my territory and I need to control the pests," he said as he loaded his gun. The bird ruffled its feathers as it watched Vicious with cold, dark eyes. There was a soft tapping at the door and the bird lifted its head expectantly.
"No. I've told you she will never betray me," Vicious said as he opened the door. Rei stood there, her eyes downcast. She had not even bothered to get dressed and Vicious looked her over, his animal instincts momentarily getting the better of him.
"I'm sorry, Vicious. I can do nothing about the past whether it be yours or mine, but does the past really matter? Can you touch it and feel it? Can you make love to it? Does it matter more than I do? Does it matter more than the way I am now?" she asked as she gazed into his face.
His amber eyes pulsated with the excitement he refused to vocalize. Her kid was one of the more tantalizing species, he had come to realize. At least the females were. He could care less about the appearance of the males of her species…
"Rei…I've got something that I must take care of," he said, carefully checking his emotions.
"You don't want a little satisfaction?"
"This isn't like you. What's gotten into you?"
"I want you to finish what you started."
"You're going to have to wait."
"It's really that important?"
Vicious watched her with interest. What was with her? She was like some sort of animal in heat. Vicious looked at her with interest. Was it possible? He was not aware of the …fertility cycle of Talibans. Could he have started those animalistic emotions flowing?
She came near him and gazed at him with her magenta eyes. He allowed her to touch his face as he tried to keep his composure. She was winning and she was fully aware of it.
"Please Vicious? My body really needs to cool down."
Vicious watched her hands move down his shirt and closed his eyes. This was one battle that he had definitely lost but he wasn't complaining.
