Title: Ain't Nothing But Magick (Reverse)
Author: J'dee, Mabelle, & Tobias
Rating: PG-13 some smoking and drinking refs…
Genre: Drama / Humor/ Action / Adventure / Romance
Author's Note: The original ANBM was a fic where 25 authors + were pulled in to the DBZ/GT world, the reverse is just that… a reverse where a select number of anime characters are yanked in to the real world, with not a true reason why, and no idea how to get back to their home…
Chapter Four
Gojyo had to admit the restaurant was nice, Toby, Belle and J'dee sat on the ground floor, while they were upstairs near the balcony, with a view to where they sat, but at the same time they were hidden by the fake pot plants around to give the place atmosphere.
Hakkai cleared his throat. “You're staring again Gojyo.”
“Don't get jealous Hakkai.” Gojyo teased only to get a swift kick under the table from Sanzo's boot. “Ow! Asshole!” Gojyo rubbed his leg shooting Sanzo a glare.
Gojyo looked to Goku who was staring at the menu like it was written in another language. “What's all a cart? Is that a cart of food?”
“God you're a dumbass.” Gojyo sniffed.
Hakkai just chuckled. “It's not a cart of food Goku.” He gave Hakaryuu a small pat on the head. The white dragon hidden on his lap under the table cloth. The little dragon purred at the touch nuzzling his head in to Hakkai's hand.
“I'm not a dumbass if you're so smart then what is it huh?” Goku challenged.
Gojyo coughed. “It's a restaurant term for…” He stopped seeing a waitress walk past and his head followed the sway of hips as she moved to the table over setting it for the turn over.
“Oh god…gross.” Goku rolled his eyes.
“À al carte it's French Goku.” Hakkai smiled. “It's taken from an expression meaning `from the card'.”
Goku looked at him. “What is it to hard to write it in English or Chinese or something? Do we have to eat cards or something? If so French people are weird.”
Sanzo let his head drop. “Who cares just pick the damn food you want.”
“Everything!” Goku announced.
Sanzo slapped Goku over the back of the head with the fan. “Like hell!”
Gojyo saw the waitress blink and look at him and he lent back in his seat and winked at her. He grinned as she flushed before hurrying off with the dirty plates.
“Oooooh yeah the women in this world are hot.”
Hakkai just shook his head. “Please Gojyo Miss J'dee said to behave.”
“What it's not like I've got her bent over the table dude… not that I wouldn't mind.” Gojyo flashed a roguish grin.
“Argh! GROSS!” Goku exclaimed.

Belle sipped happily on her bright red appletini and let out a sigh as she half listened to the arguing going on right above her. She wished she had shinigami speed so that she could zip up there and hit the loudmouths upside the head and zip back without being noticed. Oh well, she didn't have that luck.
Across the room Yumichika was pointing at her and Belle thought he needed her attention until she noticed that he was actually talking to a waitress and pointing at her drink. Oh, it was too funny, Yumichika drinking an appletini. She barely managed to contain her laughter.
~*~*~*~
Glancing a bit at the balcony area above them, Tobias frowned. He couldn't complain about people getting loud while at dinner, lord knows he did when he had a few drinks in him and his friends were being particularly funny, but he could have sworn they were talking about them. His frown deepened when he thought he saw Kusajishi. But she was a character from Bleach.
Sipping his plain coke, he was driving after all, Tobias shot a sideways glance at his friends who were chatting merrily. Maybe he wasn't the only one hiding some secrets. After all, if he had anime characters dropping in on him, why not the others? He decided to draw attention to them to find out is his suspicions were true.
~*~*~*~
J'dee felt her cheeks heating up as Toby looked up above. “Loud aren't they?”
“That's what us Kiwi's say about you Americans.” J'dee mumbled and felt Belle punch her lightly in return.
“You're one to talk… especially when you get excited.” Belle retorted.
J'dee shook her head. “No I'm not!”
Belle shot her a look and J'dee just grabbed the menu looking at it.
She saw Belle's triumphant look at her before she smiled. J'dee let out a breath.
“Something bugging you?” Toby asked.
“No.” J'dee defended. “It's just-”
She stopped seeing that Toby seemed to stop seeing behind them to the door.
Belle looked over her shoulder and her eyes went flat. “What is she doing here?”
J'dee cleared her throat looking round and stopped seeing `Washu' walking in with a couple of others. “Does she have purple hair?” She asked to the woman in a short black dress. “I'm so jealous. I wish I could have purple hair.”
Toby stared coughing and let out a breath as they moved to a table to sit down.
“Friends?” Belle looked at him.
Toby mumbled something incoherent in reply.
J'dee glanced up at the balcony and she saw the flash of pink hair and watched as a child dash past the railing, she motioned up.
“What did that kid have pink hair?” J'dee asked in surprise. She hadn't seen a child with pink hair before.
“Kid what kid?” Belle remarked feigning innocence.
J'dee shook her head. “Forget I said anything lets just order for I am starved.”
~*~*~*~
Belle stared at Washu, recognizing the woman with purple hair as being from that Eva show Toby loved so much. Every one of Belle's instincts sang about the coincidence. It was just too much. Belle's rare steak arrived and her attention instantly focused on the almost purple meat that was exposed as she cut into it.
“Oh, this is heaven, I love the insides purple and twitching,” she exclaimed and the other two gave her a look. “Hey, I happen to appreciate my meat with a little life left in it. If you don't like the `cut your parts of the cow off yourself' school of thought leave now, but I'm noticing neither of you is exactly eating a charcoal briquette.” As Belle was eating she noticed Kenpachi smirking as he held up his own rare piece of steak before eating it, giving her a wink. Of course Kenpachi might just have been blinking. It was a deep thought to realize that there is an intense difference between blinking and winking when one is wearing an eye patch. Belle heard another fight break out above them and she glared up, catching a glimpse of a man with long red hair.
`Gojyo…who else?' Belle thought before giving J'dee a deep look. Well at least her dirty little secrets were more inconspicuous, if you ignored Yachiru running around like a hyperactive monkey.

Tobias thanked the waitress for bring their meals. He didn't eat much French food, but his favorite French meal was Beef Bourguignon. He had a fondness for stews and he particularly enjoyed Bourguignon for the variety of vegetables thrown in the mix. He picked up a spoonful and blew on it before eating. To be honest, he wasn't really paying attention to his meal as he was watching Washu, Misato, and Shinji. The goddess turned scientist was exchanging words with their waiter in French, while Misato watched with amusement. Shinji looked nervous, probably because it was his first time attending such a restaurant.
He saw Tobias watching them. Shinji glanced at the women and rolled his eyes. Well that answered who thought up the brilliant scheme to follow him. The real question was how they got there. Tobias only had the one car, and while Washu probably could whip something up he hoped it didn't draw too much attention. He noted their meals all arrived quickly and were the same. Probably the special for the night. Washu noticed his staring and nudged Misato who turned to look at him. They both winked and Tobias growled. If either J'dee or Belle put two and two together he had no idea what he'd do!

Sanzo looked at the table to the young teenager with the two older women and his eyes narrowed.
“Is that them?” Hakkai asked.
Sanzo nodded. “The third team. But something is off…”
“What are you picking up?” Hakkai whispered ignoring Gojyo and Goku's banter behind them arguing over the entrée's.
“They're not all from the same world.” Sanzo mused more to himself than Hakkai.
“Meaning?” Hakkai asked.
“They probably don't even know they were brought here to kill him.” Sanzo replied.
“Someone slipped up then.” Hakkai saw Sanzo nod his head. “Is that good?”
“Tch… Maybe.” Sanzo looked to the three friends talking as they ate their meal. “But it doesn't mean whoever organized this is going to sit back and not correct that mistake.”
“We'll talk to J'dee tonight then.” Hakkai picked up the glass of wine taking a sip.
Sanzo let out a sigh before grabbing his handle of beer, she would have questions that was positive, and he just knew some of them he didn't want to answer either.
Gojyo peeked round the plant looking down at the table. “Damn they got a couple of hotties in that group. Lucky bastard.”
“What you mean the boy?” Goku teased.
Gojyo hit him over the back of the head. “No the girls with the rack… damn. I'd die a happy man if they were sent to kill me.”
He heard Hakkai sigh. “Gojyo could you please do something about that libido it's distracting the purpose of why we're here.”
“To eat!” Goku announced. “Man where's the waitress with the main course. I'm famished!”
Gojyo looked at Goku with flat eyes. “God if I meet anyone stupider than you here, I think I'd die because it's confirmed that this world breeds idiots dumber than you.”
~*~*~*~
J'dee pushed her plate back unable to finish the meal of medium rare steak, she had to get used to larger meals again and she just couldn't.
“Feeling okay?” Belle asked.
“Not used to eating… much if anything.” J'dee let out a breath.
Belle just smiled. “Wait till I cook you a big meal then.”
J'dee blinked. “Define big meal here is that equal to gigantic back home?”
Belle shook her head. “No.”
“Good because your supersize options in Mc Donald's scare me. It would take me a three days to eat that much.” J'dee twitched before she looked over at Toby looking to the table looking slightly nervous and pale.
“Toby, are you okay?”
“Yeah fine... I'll handle the check. Have a good night girls.” He stood up leaving them sitting at the table.
“I bet you he's going to go Miroku on the one with the purple hair.” J'dee remarked. “In the I'm not actually putting money I don't have down on that bet.”
~*~*~*~
“Thank you oh so much, for coming to watch me.” Tobias said to them, as he joined them in their booth. The women grinned wickedly at him as Shinji look uneasy.
“Just wanted to keep you on you're toes.” Washu purred putting an arm around his shoulders. Misato did the same from his other side.
“Consider it payback for taking that joy ride. And getting caught too!” Misato chimed in. Tobias shot them both a look before turning to fix Shinji a look. Shinji flushed and scratched the back of his head.
“I'm sorry but they talked me into it.” The Eva pilot replied sheepishly. Tobias sighed and shook his head.
“Okay, I get it. But the girls might find out about you! And I have no idea what will happen if they do.” Tobias said. The women exchange knowing grins. As one they both leaned towards him real quick and gave him a kiss, one on each cheek.
“We know you're trying to protect us but we're both big girls!” Washu reminded. Tobias blushed and couldn't help but grin.
“Can't blame a guy for trying to protect two beautiful women!” Tobias said, grinning. He winked at Shinji. “Right, Shinji?”
Shinji sputtered a bit and they all laughed as Tobias paid both bills the waiter brought him before they left.

Belle watched Toby leave while J'dee was running to the bathroom. As she lent against the bar she noticed a television on the news. Her jaw dropped as she stared at the screen.
“Hey, could you turn the volume up over there?” she asked and the bartender nodded.
“…was reported in areas across several states,” the reporter said as they showed the clip again. Belle stared, feeling her left eye twitch, at the obvious mecha.
“That son of a bitch,” Belle growled as she looked over to the door. Toby had managed to escape as well as his entourage of anime women. “He is such a mentally impaired idiot, how could he be so recklessly stupid.” Part of Belle, the kind, understanding part, thought `Maybe it was someone else.' Then the rational part of Belle's brain pointed out that most pilots of mechas knew how to cloak their machines and only one idiot would go for a joyride in plain sight.
“I wonder if I could get Kenpachi to rough him up first,” Belle muttered as she saw J'dee across the bar. “Thanks.” The bartender nodded before turning the volume back down.
~*~*~*~
Later that night…
J'dee sat on her bed the television was on mute and she was playing the Rutger Hauer movie `Fatherland' in the background while her stereo was blaring out `Rebirthing' by Skillet, she was trying to redesign a character to send to Sephy through e-mail later on that night. Granted Sephy was passing through tomorrow and the day after with her boyfriend, because she wanted J'dee to meet him.
She stopped as she saw a figure move along the balcony and she jumped up running to the door and she opened it quickly looking at Gojyo his hand raised as he was about to knock.
“Are you crazy? What are you doing?” She hissed.
Gojyo pulled her out on to the balcony. J'dee looked over seeing Sanzo, Hakkai and Goku on their balcony.
“We need to talk honey.” He looked dead serious making her blink.
“Talk… about what?” She asked softly.
“C'mon better if we show you.” He took her by the hand and climbed over the railing to next door and she frowned. “How about I not climb on to the neighbor's property and just use the hallway like a normal person.” She stopped blinking looking below seeing three figures below, it was that red head again, this time with a blonde and a dark haired guy she saw the tattoo round his upper arm, and some scrawlings on his face but she couldn't make it out from a distance without her glasses on though.
They paused in their conversation looking up at her and J'dee felt herself lifted up and she let out a startled squeak as Gojyo pulled her over the railing.
“C'mon live a little honey.” Gojyo purred.
“I'm too old to live a little.” J'dee complained.
She let Gojyo lead her to their balcony and he helped her up, while Hakkai helped her down on the other side and she shivered.
“I hate heights.” She mumbled trying to catch her panicked breath.
Gojyo jumped over the railing and pulled out a cigarette. “Honey… that file… we think it's about time you read it.”
J'dee blinked and she watched as Sanzo slid the manila folder across the table. She grabbed it picking it up looking at them and sat down and opened it up beginning to read.

Belle went down to the backdoor again to find Hisagi, Renji, and Kira on duty. She held a tray of bologna sandwiches and the boys quickly dug in.
“How many teams?” she asked and the men froze mid-bite.
“One team for each of you,” Kira stated and Belle nodded. It didn't make sense why was Toby's team a mix?
“Are you sure?” she asked, looking at them. There was that awkward `should we tell her' moment before Hisagi swallowed.
“There is a secondary team for each of you,” he stated and Belle nodded.
“I don't think Toby or J'dee is going to crack then, they're enjoying their secrets too much. I'm going to confront J'dee tonight, Toby's going to have to wait his own damn turn,” she sighed.
“Do you need us to help at all?” Kira asked and Belle shook her head.
“Just stay down here for a bit, I'll confront J'dee in the next few minutes,” and with that Belle headed back up.

The ride home was relatively quiet. Misato opted to ride in the front after Washu changed back to her child form in the restaurant bathroom. She also confirmed that they took one of her portals there. The ride was relatively peaceful, if you excluded the fact that Washu hung on Shinji and teased him, while Misato teased them both about wedding plans. Tobias had to admit he was having fun. He also had a hard time concentrating on his driving with Misato sitting next to him in her black dress. He was also pretty sure Misato knew what she was doing, because every so often she would uncross and re-cross her legs, adjusting the hem of her dress. Tobias could almost feel his eyes drawn to her legs. So it was understandable that he missed the sold sticker on the for sale sign on the property next to his.
After parking in the garage, they all filed out to head inside. Shinji was grinning, and Tobias had to admit, Washu was a good influence on the boy. As they entered the house from the garage, Tobias paused and cast a suspicious glance at the hall leading to bedrooms. Going down the hall he frowned. Sure enough, the first door on the left that went into the public bathroom was now another hall with three doors on each side.
“Noticed did you?” Washu said, coming up next to him, a grin on her face. Tobias turned and looked at her incredulously.
“You didn't.” He said simply. Her grin got wider.
“Sure did! Even put the correct permits and everything for it in the system! You sir, now have four extra bedrooms and two extra bathrooms! Well one extra since I relocated your other bathroom down the hall and mirrored it on the other side but you know what I mean!” The mad scientist said, her eyes gleaming. Despite the shock of suddenly having his house expanded on and the value shot up in the matter of hours, Tobias was deeply touched. She didn't have to do it, but she did.
“Thank you.” He said warmly. Tobias couldn't help but grin as Washu blushed.
“Well we needed somewhere to sleep!” She said. Tobias watched her go towards the kitchen with a grin, and noticed Misato walk out of the kitchen, staring mournfully at the beer can in her hand.
“What's up?” Tobias asked. Misato shot him a sad glance.
“This is the last can of beer.” She replied.
Tobias would later have no idea why he asked, only that it felt very right that he did.
“Want to go out for a drink?” He asked. Misato shot him a surprised glance and then grinned widely at him.
“Yes, please!” She replied eagerly. Tobias laughed and twirled his car keys on his right index finger.
“Let's roll then!” He said, grinning. They made their way to the garage, but Misato paused for a moment to shout back at her charge.
“Shinji! Me and Tobias are going out for awhile! Be back later! Good night!”
“Night Misato! Have fun!” Was the reply and Tobias saw Washu watching them from the kitchen as they headed out.
After all, how often do you get to go out with an anime sex goddess?
~*~*~*~
J'dee walked back in to her room from the balcony and she looked over her shoulder at Gojyo who followed her in to her room. She turned the television up flicking her stereo off and she watched onscreen for the moment as Luther was shot in the neck amongst the parade celebrating the Fürher's seventy-fifth birthday. Nightingale and Charlie mad a run for a car away from the old man. Max had already started the car engine while people screamed.
Gojyo looked at the screen raising a brow at the noise.
“Just a movie… what if Germany won the war.” J'dee stated.
J'dee's mind ticking over what the file had said, she had to get away quick, it had Belle's address transactions of how much money J'dee had in her bank account before she left New-Zealand to the text message she sent Jubei a few months ago explaining that she couldn't return for her wedding. Along with EVERYTHING regarding her past that she told only those instinct told her to trust. Belle and Toby were only a couple inside that circle of friends that knew. The part that got her was the fine print stating that she was a dangerous half breed, with the knowledge of gypsy alchemy and if they failed in their mission back up would be sent to kill her and her friends, meaning Belle, Toby and herself their lives and hers were on the line.
“Is this true?” J'dee had asked looking at them.
Hakkai had looked at her in return. “We were hoping you could confirm that.”
“I haven't come across another team yet.” She looked at them. “I haven't killed anyone, not this lifetime anyway and I'm not a gypsy alchemist. I'm a witch there's a difference.”
“Any idea who would want you and your friends dead?” Hakkai asked.
“We hadn't met in person before I got here.” J'dee looked at them. “I swear it's been seven years and we haven't met in person… how could we be this big of a threat?”
“It states they believe you house a great power inside you. Of elemental proportions, ever been able to twist the elements?” Hakkai asked.
“I'm not the weather girl Hakkai. I've never had much luck in predicting storms.”
“You can predict rain pretty well.” Hakkai had looked at her.
“That's cause the air changes in temperature and my body protests.” J'dee sighed. “Not much I can do about that.”
Gojyo took a drag of his cigarette as he had looked at her. “The air changes huh?”
The way Gojyo had mentioned air made her look at him for a moment.
Sanzo had just scoffed. “Tch, it's time you told Belle about us.”
“And look like I'm crazy? Are you kidding me?” J'dee exclaimed.
“If you haven't told her this time tomorrow, we'll come by and introduce ourselves I think.” Hakkai mused and flashed a warm smile in her direction.
“Hakkai!” She had shaken her head. “Don't do that, it's not fair, I'm going out to meet Sephy and her boyfriend.”
Gojyo had slipped an arm round her shoulder and grinned. “C'mon haven't you felt she's hiding something from you too, what friends hide things from each other?”
J'dee looked down, she was always so naïve to when people were hiding things from her and granted Belle told her everything, she hadn't even noticed Belle hiding anything. Had she been that out of tune, had jet lag drained her power that much or was it the country itself its copious amounts of energy it had often had her sleeping in till 1pm on her days off work.
Gojyo looked at her sitting on the edge of her bed, the silhouette slightly hunched over and he moved over to her crouching down in front of her. She had been partly watching the movie with a saddened expression as if remembering something.
“Have you noticed any changes in your body over the year's honey, each time something different, new foreign even?” He looked up at her.
“I… guess so… when I was younger I caused a couple of earthquakes because I got emotionally upset… I joked about burning things down then they would… I got premonitions. I was traumatized by ghosts who were angry that they were dead. I've captured ethereal beings on film. Been stalked by demons, been able to feel when the rain is about to come. Stuff you can't mark own to coincidence because that's a lot of coincidences.”
Gojyo looked up at her, she looked more than perplexed. She really had no clue who wanted this power she supposedly housed; he had yet to see evidence of it though.
“Ever thought that someone would want this power?” Gojyo looked at her for a moment he felt almost like a private detective, looking for answers.
“……” J'dee looked at him. “I know someone does, for the past eight years. But our paths never had a reason to cross. Like I was protected from him.” She looked down with a sigh.
“Got a name honey?”
“Not really I don't want to be pointing fingers; he hasn't done anything as of yet except haunt my sleep on occasion.”
Gojyo's hand slipped up to the side of her face. “Well we'll continue to protect you, while you're awake and asleep.” He pushed himself up slightly to lean in close. His hand slipped behind the back of her neck his mouth moved closer to hers. “It's a promise beautiful, trust me.”
J'dee blushed at the closeness of his face, his mouth lingering so close to hers. “We can't go down this road… Sanzo won't like it.”
“Screw what the monk thinks or likes beautiful…” Gojyo whispered.
Slowly his mouth moved over hers, tongue slipping past lips, his other hand moving to her waist.
She gasped almost wanting to pull back, she was confused extremely confused, he wasn't supposed to be real, he wasn't supposed to be here in her room with her, where she promised Belle she wouldn't continue in her old ways that she had back in New-Zealand.
But the warmth of his skin, the scent of tobacco told her senses he was more than real.
Gojyo felt arms slip round his neck and he moved up his body forcing her to lie back on the bed, his hand from her neck planted beside her head to hold himself slightly up over her, his mouth moved to her neck slowly.
He inwardly grinned at her sudden intake of breath, her back arching slightly.
“Gojyo I take it?” The voice shot through the dark of the room.
J'dee flinched at the tone and pulled back her face heating up. She looked at Belle sitting in the chair in the corner of her room.
J'dee swallowed. `How long has she been sitting there? Like an over protective mother or something.'
J'dee frowned that was one thing she missed terribly was her mother, her relaxed and easy going mother who helped her out in a pinch no matter what.
“Belle…” She whispered.
Gojyo just looked at Belle and J'dee covered her face as he flashed Belle his famous roguish grin.
“That's my name honey… nice to meet you.”
~*~*~*~
“Can it, Romeo,” Belle said in a deadpan voice. “We have a situation J'dee. We each have a team.” There was that moment of silence.
“You knew?” J'dee asked blushing.
“Oh yeah and you are so going to pay for hiding Sanzo next door and not telling me,” Belle said with a smile. It was okay J'dee had her secret, hell they each had one, but now the secrets had to end.
“So you have the hots for the monk,” Gojyo grinned and Belle's eyes turned ice cold. She rather hoped she was doing an excellent Hakkai impression.
“Anyway,” Belle turned her attention to J'dee. “I have the Bleach boys, so I guess we're even since I was hiding Hisagi.” Belle got up and went out onto the balcony. “Come on.” J'dee followed Belle and Gojyo hung around behind them. The two girls looked down and sure enough, three shinigami were sitting by the building.
“Hey boys,” Belle called and the three looked up and each gave a nod or wave.
“That's really Hisagi,” J'dee grinned and Belle nodded.
“The thing is, J'dee, we all got lucky with this first group of would-be assassins,” Belle said. “I think we're going to have the second groups approach soon.”
“So, Washu?” J'dee suggested and Belle smiled.
“Oh yeah, Toby couldn't get a woman like that unless she came from some twisted alternate reality after all,” Belle teased and smiled at her friend.
“Sorry about keeping the secret,” J'dee stated rubbing her head.
“Don't worry about it, I kept my own, hell, I'm more pissed off about Toby,” Belle said before turning J'dee's television to the twenty-four hour news network. There was more footage of Toby's joyride. “That boy seriously fucked up.”
“Daaamn,” Gojyo muttered.
“That's bad,” J'dee winced as she watched the footage repeat several times.
“Bad does not fully encompass what that moron did,” Belle sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose.

Laughing joyously, the two stumbled into the house after the cab dropped them off. Tobias was feeling that pleasant sensation from the buzz he had going. Misato was a drunk as he was, maybe even drunker, and they leaned against each other. He helped her inside and they stumbled into the living room where they collapsed over the couch.
“Shhhhh!” Misato chastised him before loudly laughing. Tobias laughed and got up, closing the front door and kicking off his shoes. He staggered back into the living room, to see Misato trying to pull her heels off.
“Here, allow me.” He stated. He got on his knees next to the couch and took her feet in his hands, gently pulling off her shoes. He looked up at her and noticed her smiling down at him through half closed eyes. Tobias grinned at her and rubbed her feet, his grin getting bigger as she groaned and leaned back.
“I'll definitely have to keep you.” Misato groaned. Tobias laughed and stood, helping her to her feet.
“Come on, time for bed.” He said. Tobias helped her down the hall, and led her to the room with her name on it. Opening the door, he found a good sized room, almost as big as his master bedroom, with a decent sized bed. He helped her to bed and laid her down. There was moon light was streaming in from the window and it lit the bed and her. She looked like an angel, the good kind, with her hair strewn about her and the happy smile on her face. Tobias couldn't help but run the back of his hand along her cheek. Misato gently nuzzled his hand and smiled at him. He smiled back, and got up to leave when she caught his hand in hers.
“Stay?” She whispered, and Tobias froze. It was a dream come to life, Misato Katsuragi, beautiful woman and amazing officer in Nerv, asking Tobias to be with her. But it was oh so wrong too.
“I can't.” He replied. She moved to protest, but he silenced her with something he knew he could do.
He kissed her.
It was the thing poets wept about, it made the Gods tremble. He could taste her and the beer, but there was passion in it. The feel of her against him, her smell, everything screamed about it being wonderful.
But they were drunk and he knew it. Even if they wouldn't regret it in the morning, he still couldn't. After the kiss, he smiled at her as she stared at him with passion in her eyes.
“If you remember that offer in the morning, and if you don't regret it, I promise, we'll try that when we're both sober. But for right now, that's all I can give you.” He said. Tobias stood up and left the room, closing the door after him. He didn't see the smile she gave the door or how she snuggled her pillow as he walked to his own room. He also missed Washu grinning knowingly down the hall from her own room.
“Too noble for his own damn good.” She said to hall and retreated back to her room.

Zack pulled the motorbike up outside the apartment building flicking the stand down as he turned the bike off, he pulled out his cellphone checking the text message address and he looked to the side spotting three odd looking guys hanging round. One with tattoos on his face, the other with blonde hair hanging over one of his eyes the other with wild red hair spiked up.
`They're no Sephiroth… this should be easy enough.' He thought to himself and glanced up seeing a teenager hanging over the balcony a few stories up looking at him the kid had a chicken drumstick in his mouth chewing on the bone.
Shoving the keys of the bike in to his pocket Zack flipped his cellphone shut before walking through the front door. He'd find a room for rent like Roy wanted then come back later when Roy and his group arrived tomorrow to start their surveillance. `The sooner this is over the sooner we can leave.'
Zack only barely paid attention to the bald guy with eye shadow lingering in the foyer before leaning on the desk looking at the receptionist as she looked up from her romance novel at him.
“How much will it cost to rent three or four rooms?” Zack asked.
“Under what names sir?” She smiled.
“Make it one… Roy Mustang.” Zack replied.
“And the duration of your stay?” She asked politely.
“Three months maximum. A couple of weeks minimum. But he'll pay for the three months on three apartments.”
“How many people per apartment.”
“Three and a couple of singles I guess.” Zack replied with a shrug. He reached in to his pocket pulling out the green backs that Roy had given him. “I'll pay the bond and first week now.”
“Very well sir… you don't mind some standard questions though do you?” She asked.
“I don't mind at all can I ask you a question?”
“Anything you like sir.”
“Are you free later?”
His missed the motion of the bald headed figure raising an eyebrow in his direction.
To Be Continued…
