Chapter 16
J’dee stood behind the counter at work it was the middle of the week and she had finally sorted her roster out with the female Assistant Supervisor and done a shift swap so she had the weekend free. It took till Wednesday to find someone to replace Friday Saturday and Sunday and in the process she had to work, Tuesday, a close on Wednesday and a another close on Thursday. Which worked out perfectly because she could swing by Toby’s on the way home. He would have to be finished with all that Shinji training for the day by the time she got there.
So here she was Wednesday night with just a moping Assistant Manager who had bailed half way through her shift to sit outside and smoke with her best mate with their multicolored hair and facial piercings.
J’dee lent on the counter doodling on a receipt when Zack walked up to her and looked to the door to a couple who had several face piercings and rainbow colored hair worse than the assistant supervisor and her friend .
“Is that normal to do that to yourself here?” He asked leaning over the counter.
J’dee looked up for a moment and nodded. “Yeah but my grandmother hates it, she had a fit when I got my nose pierced.”
“I don’t see a piercing.” Zack remarked.
“My old job before the bank made me take it out because it wasn’t professional looking. What do they know with their bumble bee colored uniforms and crap.” She complained in a grumble.
Zack just smiled and he looked behind seeing Renji linger in the doorway. “Just me and Renji tonight and it’s quiet. What are we doing after?”
“Toby’s, I just want to ask him if he’s up for Saturday night clubbing.”
“That’s cool.” Zack stood up and he looked to the shelf where the crisis core psp games where. “So why do I have to be twenty dollars off?” He asked.
“Zack. ” J’dee repeated. “Besides Ichigo is half price.” She motioned to the Wii wall with the half priced Bleach game in plain view.
Renji took a look at it and sniggered. “Ha Kurosaki would hate that.”
“And Ed’s in the three for eighty bin.” J’dee added.
“I still find it strange is it to see a poster of me where you sleep and where you work.” Zack remarked.
J’dee blushed. “I’ll remove the one at home if you feel-”
Zack shook his head. “No relax… it’s okay just promise me when Aerith wakes up I’ll be the first to talk to you.”
J’dee looked up at Zack and smiled. “Promise. Besides I don’t mind having you in the PSP section and Vincent in the PS2.”

Belle was watching TV while Ikkaku, Yumichika, Yachiru, and Kenpachi devoured food in the living room and Grimmjow glared from the other side of the sofa.
“Can we please watch something else?” Ed asked as a crocodile went into a death roll with a zebra.
“No,” Belle stated as she pushed the remote down her shirt more. “I happen to like this.”
“It is rather vicious,” Abel stated as he moved to sit next to Edward.
“I rarely get to watch my television, let alone enjoy a nice nature special. I want to watch the life cycle of African crocodiles in peace,” Belle stated as she got up. Grimmjow followed and Belle gave him a look. “What do you want now?”
“” he stated and Belle sighed as she fixed two sandwiches. One tuna and one bologna, guess who got which sandwich?
“How can you watch that and eat?” Ed cried and Belle shrugged.
“I get hungry when I watch nature specials,” she stated as she took a bite.
“I love a blood thirsty woman,” Ikkaku teasted and Belle ignored him.
“I’m hungry too,” Grimmjow pointed out.
“You’re always hungry,” Yumichika pointed out.
“I wish I had steak,” Belle muttered as two crocodiles ripped an antelope into pieces.

J’dee left work after the shift and she stopped looking at the motorbike then at Zack with flat eyes.
“How’d I know that was going to be here?” She asked.
Zack just grinned. “You like motorbikes here I know that much I read the file… sort of.”
J’dee laughed, she looked at Renji who was standing near the bike looking off in to the distance.
“Renji you can meet us back at the apartment it’s okay.” J’dee smiled.
The shinigami motioned. “Is that your demon buddy?”
J’dee blinked looking in the distance and she stopped seeing the white tunic in the distance. “Kougaiji…”
“Yeah him.” Renji remarked.
Zack sat on the bike he watched as Kougaiji walked up to them he stopped in front of J’dee and she looked up at the red headed demon.
“Kou we’re going to need you to get a cellphone you can’t just show up when you feel like it.” J’dee remarked.
“A warning for the monk. I’ll be stopping by your place tonight. I need to see your progress in reversing the curse.” Kougaiji stated.
J’dee nodded. “Okay sure. I’m stopping by Toby’s first if you had a phone I could call you to tell you when I’m home you know.”
Kougaiji looked at her with flat eyes. “I don’t think so.”
Zack could have laughed at J’dee’s expression. “How on earth am I supposed to call you of any progress?”
“I’ll know.”
“How?” J’dee challenged.
“I just will.” Kougaiji turned round and started to walk off.
J’dee let her head drop. “Why do red headed men have to be so…”
“Frustrating?” Zack offered as Kougaiji phased out of view.
J’dee made the motion of strangling thin air. “YES! Frustrating ARGH!”
Renji huffed. “Speak for him and your bed mate I’m not one of them.” He looked at her. “See you back at the apartment. Don’t be late.” He jumped up before shunpo’ing off towards the apartment.

“Take that bitch!” Ikkaku cried as Tien shot a tri-beam attack at Vegeta.
“You bastard!” Grimmjow cried as his health dropped to a tiny dash.
“Next game!” Yachiru cried and Belle sighed as she watched the group play video games. Yumichika had been playing with Belle’s hair, determined to find the perfect look for her.
“Did you finish all your grading?” Abel asked and Belle nodded.
“During lunch I got the morning classes done and when you helped that group finish their lab after school I got the afternoon classes,” Belle said with a shrug before yawning.
“You seem tired,” Yumichika stated as he continued messing with her hair. Belle was glad she had hidden her scissors and what not long before this point.
“Actually yea, I’m really beat,” she sighed.
“Time to go,” Kenpachi stated and stood up.
“Awww,” Yachiru pouted before jumping on his shoulder.
“You should go to bed, I can find your look tomorrow,” Yumichika stated. “Then you’ll be as beautiful as me.” He brushed her cheek and Belle couldn’t help the blush she got suddenly.
“Come on, Kitty Cat,” Ikkaku cried as he grabbed Grimmjow in a headlock and started dragging him out. Belle could almost see a smirk on the Espada’s face as he broke the headlock and hit Ikkaku in the head. Belle thought that if Grimmjow was a shinigami he would totally take the Fourth Seat in Division Eleven.
“I’ll head to bed too,” Ed said and Belle waved at him.
“Remember, just two more days till the weekend,” Abel added as he left behind Edward. As the door closed Belle came to an amazing realization. She was alone…for the first time in weeks, Belle was alone in the apartment. At that moment one of her cats jumped into her lap.
“Okay, almost alone,” Belle laughed as she sat in amazement at her solidarity. She never saw the group outside intercept Renji.

"It's too damn quiet." Misato said. She kept flicking through the TV channels. A can of beer in one hand and the remote in the other, she lounged in Tobias's recliner, missing thier host. No word from him at all, not even a phone. It worried her just a bit.
"I feel the same way. Back home all I craved was the quiet, and now I miss it." Shinji admitted, coming into the living room from the kitchen. Misato took a long drink from her beer.
"He's been a good influence on all of us." Washu commented, also chiming in. "I know he's taught me a thing about what you do for you're friends."
"What do you mean?" Misato, asked curiously. Before Washu could respond, the door bell rang. Thankful for opportunity to avoid answering that question, Washu went to answer it.
"Oh, it's you. What do you want?"
~*~*~*~
“What do you mean what do I want?” J’dee looked at Washu with a raised brow. “I can’t visit one of my best friends after work?” She stood on the doorstep while Zack sat on the bike in the driveway waiting.
“It’s okay Washu.” Misato smiled. “Toby didn’t tell you?” She asked.
“Tell me what?” J’dee looked to the purple haired woman in the doorway behind Washu.
Misato looked at Washu. “He left on a business trip at the beginning of the week.”
“Oh.” J’dee blinked. “And we’re going out for drinks this Saturday night. I was going to invite him and you guys along.”
Misato smiled. “I’m sure those of us who are legal will be able to make it.” She teased seeing Shinji walk past in the back ground before giving her a flat eyed look.
J’dee nodded. “I’ll stop by Gene’s and see if they want to come out as well then.”
“Hey think I can cut my bike through the short cut to get there?” Zack motioned.
“It’ll be fine.” Washu stated.
J’dee stopped for a moment, why did it feel like that Washu was trying to get rid of her quickly. J’dee looked to the direction of the hanger. There was a sudden throb in the wind like something was missing. She had that habit of picking missing things up she just could never pin point what they were till several weeks to late, but this was huge.
“Change in energy round here definitely feels like something big is missing…” She shook her head seeing Misato look at her strangely before she smiled waving her hand about. “Don’t worry probably just Toby’s ego.” She joked.
“Is that all?” Washu asked.
J’dee bite her bottom lip for a moment. “Can I ask a favor of Misato?”
Misato looked at her. “Um that depends.”
“Toby probably showed you the series am I right?”
Misato went quiet before she nodded. “He did.” She finally spoke.
“I just want an autograph on a platinum edition boxset back at my place. I’ll bring it by later, if you could.” J’dee admitted.
Misato just smiled. “I can do that.”
J’dee stepped off the porch. “I’ll drop by later on Friday to let you guys know where it is, and get that autograph.” She ran up to the bike jumping on the back slipping her arms round Zack’s waist.
“Hope you’re keeping that kid well trained in Toby’s absence.” Zack revved the bike up and saluted to Misato. “I’ve seen that look before in someone who doubts himself.” He spun the bike’s back wheel round before taking off down the path.

Belle smiled at the newly cleaned kitchen and living room. It had been a while since they could really clean and even thought she was horribly tired, she had forced herself to do the much needed chores. It was a thrill to move around the apartment with no one yelling, no one begging for food, and no one she had to make sure wasn’t harassing J’dee. It was lovely and Belle had a firm sense of everything in the apartment, if she had focused Belle would have discovered that when she closed her eyes she could see the whole apartment including herself.
Of course, Belle never noticed, nor did she realize that a cloud of water vapor was following her around like a giant bubble, creating this effect. Belle managed to clean and organize everything save J’dee’s and her bedrooms. As she finished she realized that she was rather sweaty. With a grimace Belle headed to her room to strip and pull on her oriental peacock robe. She grabbed her towels and headed to the bathroom where she prepared a lovely bubble-bath.
As Belle soaked in the water she relaxed completely and thought about the various memories she held from Trisha and Koumyou. She knew that Trisha would be concerned about this but Koumyou would be fascinated. She could feel that they were different from her, but related to her. Like a brother and a sister to her soul. As Belle thought she realized that maybe she wasn’t absorbing the souls but storing them until….something.
“What are we gathering into me for?” Belle wondered as she threw an arm over her face and growled in frustration, unaware of the spider-webs of frost forming on the window and tiles. As soon as Belle sighed in defeat and relaxed again the frost vanished.

"I'm telling you it doesn't make any sense! Why wouldn't he tell me he was leaving?" Jim demanded. The only one firmly on his side was Melfina but none of the others seemed to be buying it.
"Because as much as he looks like your father, he's not, Jim! True you're father may have told you but Tobias is NOT him! You're getting too attached to him as it is!" Jim snapped back.
"How long has this been going on?" J'dee asked, puzzlement written over her face as she walked up to the Outlaw Star's crew. Jim and Gene didn't even notice her as they continued to argue.
"Since yesterday." Suzuka said midly. "Ever since Jim tried to visit Tobias and found out he'd left."
"He didn't tell you either?" J'dee asked surprised.
"As far as I can tell he only told the people living with him." Suzuka replied. She raised an eyebrow as Aisha got involved, just for the hell of it.
Ctarls. Always looking for a fight.
"Huh." J'dee said, frowning. Suzuka turned her gaze on the younger woman.
"Did you need something?" She asked.
"Oh, right! I was just inviting everyone out for drinks this Saturday!"
"I'll be sure to pass the message along." Suzuka said, turning her attention back to the show in the front yard, sipping her tea and summarily dismissing J'dee.
"Made of ice, that one." J'dee muttered, heading back to Zack and his bike.
~*~*~*~
Zack sat on the bike watching as J’dee spoke to the samurai woman of the group, but he was interested in the argument going on over Toby’s absence.
Zack had seen J’dee’s anime collection he knew she liked Outlaw Star and Eva. She had admitted Eva and DBZ had got her to meet her first otaku friend in her home country. Another friend who held a similar ability to her, the ability to hear and see the dead, she admitted she missed the girl. Who J’dee knew as long as Belle and was introduced online to by someone J’dee only called Raine. It seemed that J’dee’s online family had two other members involved.
J’dee had started heading back to him before she ran back to the group and handed something to Gene. She seemed to squeal at something Gene said and he chuckled she did seem like a fan before getting Gene to sign the box for her before she glomped Gene then waving ran down the path towards where Zack sat waiting.
“Are you quite done?”
“Yeah lets go home before Kougaiji scolds me for being late.” J’dee grinned.
~*~*~*~
Belle sighed as she walked into the living room in her robe and with a towel around her shoulders while her wet hair dried. She turned on the television and checked her DVR programming. She had a few true crime shows she wanted to see and quickly picked one to watch.
As the show went on Belle was disturbed by the open windows of the balcony door and Belle sighed as she got up and went to the window. As she reached for the curtain a flash of white landed on the balcony and Belle girlishly shrieked in surprise before noticing the flash of blood red and white. She looked at the figure and recognized the three slashes of color on the cheek and there was that awkward moment of silence.
“Thank you, J’dee,” Belle sighed as she opened the balcony and stood in the way in the universal sigh of ‘keep the hell out.’ “Can I help you, Prince Kougaiji?” She couldn’t believe she had just said that.
“Is J’dee here?” he asked and Belle sighed before a cold wind blew into the apartment and Belle was horribly aware of the fact she was only wearing a robe and a towel with nothing else underneath.
“Please come in,” Belle stated as she made sure the towel hide the obvious state of dress under the silk robe. Kougaiji entered and Belle was rather impressed by the physical presence of the prince.
“Thank you,” he said as he entered and turned to Belle. She blushed and made sure to keep eye contact so that his eyes wouldn’t wander and realize her state of dress.
“J’dee should be back now, if she’s not back yet then she should be back within the next half hour. Would you like to wait for her?” Belle asked and Kougaiji thought about it. Since J’dee had been putting up with Grimmjow Belle figured she better keep the prince around. “I could prepare some tea…Ha…” Belle realized she might not want to mention the Sanzo party. “I have just received a very good jasmine tea. It’s supposed to be an import straight from ” Kougaiji’s eyes were obviously conflicted.
“I haven’t had a chance to try it yet and it would be lovely to have a native’s opinion on it,” Belle said with her most disarming smile. Kougaiji’s eyes softened and he nodded.
“It would be lovely,” he said and Belle smiled.
“Please have a seat and I’ll start the kettle,” she said as she filled a kettle with water and another with milk, putting the heat on for both. “Please excuse me for a moment while I dress in more…appropriate attire.” With that Belle rushed to her room to get dressed in a pair of jeans and a nice blouse. Once she came out the water and milk were ready and Belle prepared the tea like Hakkai had instructed her. She made herself a cup of chocolate. Kougaiji gave her a looks as she set down the two glasses.
“I don’t always like tea and I don’t like to try it until someone else has given me an honest opinion of it,” she explained before sipping her hot chocolate. “So why do you need to see J’dee?”
~*~*~*~
J’dee arrived in the apartment shutting the door behind her. Zack was heading upstairs to sleep while on the phone to Havoc telling him it was his turn for balcony watch.
J’dee stopped seeing Belle sitting at the kitchen table with a hot chocolate while Kougaiji sat there with a cup of tea in hand. Kougaiji looked up at her, purple eyes boring in to her.
“You’re late.” Kougaiji stated.
J’dee’s mouth moved for a moment. “Okay that’s just a weird image.”
“J’dee have you made any progress on solving this curse Kougaiji is talking about?” Belle asked. “You’ve been working a bit lately to make ends meet I was wondering when and if you got time between balancing Gojyo and Havoc’s attentions and helping Kougaiji here.”
J’dee opened her bedroom door tossing her bag inside before pulling her work boots off tossing them inside the door.
“I think I need to cast a temporary spell that allows me some access to Kou’s memories so I can see actually how it happens. Spells are like medicine you don’t want to be treating the condition without knowing all the correct symptoms.” J’dee moved to the table sitting down and letting out a breath. “I was thinking about it on the bike ride home. It was weird like feeling the wind brushing against me it was like it was talking to me helping me think and I’ve never felt as refreshed before by the wind.” She looked up for a moment.
Kougaiji looked at her. “You can but only for that moment there are something you do not need to see.”
“Secret affairs?” J’dee teased but was greeted with a glare. “Oooh kay forgot Mr. Serious. I need your permission and a piece of clothing or lock of hair something to work with.”
Kougaiji stood up and J’dee blinked as he undid the belt of his white tunic pulling the belt the top off before dropping the Tunic over J’dee’s lap and sitting back down topless and picking up the cup of tea.
“Will that work?”
“Uhhh… yeah.” J’dee blushed and looked at Belle swallowing. ‘Too hot for a demon prince… way to hot.’ J’dee thought.
~*~*~*~
Belle was staring at the chiseled muscles on Kougaiji’s chest a moment longer than was polite and she quickly looked away, well aware she had to be bright red. She looked at J’dee to see a similar blush on her face. You’d never think a prince would have that kind of muscle tone. Then again, Belle knew very little about demons and other such things.
“H-how’s the tea?” Belle asked, keeping her gaze on Kougaiji’s hands. She was actually rather amazed by the claws on his hands, if she was a braver, bolder woman, she might ask if she could look at his claws. Well, maybe if Kougaiji hung around much longer she would start studying the differences between humans and demons.
“It is quite excellent, you were fortunate to receive such a gift,” he said and Belle quickly cleaned her cup before returning to pour herself a glass. She sipped it and it was as if someone placed a jasmine flower on her tongue. She sighed at the taste before smiling at Kougaiji.
“It is wonderful,” she said with a smile before returning her attention to her tea. Damn did that man have a great chest did he have no idea how handsome he was? She drank her tea while Kougaiji finished his and Belle almost wanted to ask the Prince if she could take a picture. Almost.
~*~*~*~
Friday seemed to come along faster than anyone was aware of, but they were all busy with their weekly and day to day schedules.
J’dee was just glad for the day off but she was still up early (by her standards, which was like 11am) sorting thought her anime and grabbing a couple of things before Zack would drive her out to Toby’s.
She still had this weird feeling she couldn’t shake an absence of something from the back of her mind. But she had been feeling a bit strange lately herself, so maybe she was off on her feelings. The voices she normally heard on the wind, seemed filtered as of late, like something was blocking her from hearing correctly.
J’dee stood up and tucked the empty silver Eva box in to a bag, it already was signed by Spike Spencer, but maybe she could get Shinji’s autograph while she was at it.
The knock at her bedroom door interrupted her. “J’dee are you even up?” Zack asked.
“Yeah I’m not THAT lazy geeze.” J’dee rolled her eyes.
Zack opened the door. “C’mon lets get going then.”
~*~*~*~
Belle was staring at the window as she ate lunch, she barely paid attention to Hugue and Abel…well mostly Abel. Her eyes were glazed over as she considered the issues with soul and what not. Who were there and what was the purpose of the merging of souls. She wasn’t different, yeah she knew how to cook more and had more meditation abilities now, but really Belle was still Belle. She was feeling more real and solid.
With a deep sigh she closed her eyes and was slowly aware she could perfectly identify every surface in the room. Her eyes shot open to look at Abel and Hugue. Neither one seemed to notice her shock so she quickly closed her eyes and she realized that she could ‘see’ the room including herself. If someone could see by being aware of every surface including people, this would be it.
“This is too weird,” Belle stated as she looked at Abel and Hugue. “One of you cover my eyes.”
“Why?” Abel asked as Hugue moved behind Belle, placing a calloused palm over each of her eyes.
“Just grab some object or what not Abel. Keep your body between me and it,” Belle ordered. She could see Abel’s expression of confusion as he got up and moved to her desk. She was aware that he was looking over her desk and he grabbed the hall pass which was also a rock. “You’re holding the hall pass.”
“How do you…” Abel stared and Belle pulled away Hugue’s hands.
“I have no idea,” she whispered.
~*~*~*~
J’dee arrived at Toby’s and she stopped on the porch before knocking and she stared at the hanger.
“I need to talk to Washu about her pocket dimensions they’re throwing my spiritual sensors off whack.” J’dee complained.
Zack lent against the bike. “How badly off are you feeling?”
J’dee looked to the hanger again. “I wonder if I can check…” She went to move off the porch but was stopped as the door opened and Washu smiled at her.
“Oh you’re here. Come inside I’ll just grab Misato… if she’s up.” Washu pulled J’dee inside.
Zack stood up and he looked at the hanger. He glanced at the door then to the hanger. Zack went to move but stopped hearing footsteps.
“Are you coming we’ve got some lunch brought over by Melfina… it beats Misato’s cooking.” Washu smiled at him.
“It can’t be as bad as J’dee’s.” Zack joked and moved up to the door walking inside.
~*~*~*~
Belle was teaching, closing her eyes so that she could see what the students were doing as she taught. Abel was watching her closely. She could see two of the students leaning over to look at each other’s papers.
“No cheating Cassie, Megan!” Belle cried as she continued facing the board.
“How did she do that?” a student whispered and Belle smirked as she opened her eyes. It was hard to use this new trick with her eyes open, but she knew she would get it with more practice.
~*~*~*~
"Thanks for cooking Melfina. Since Tobias left,. Washu has kind of dumped her cooking on me and the last meal Misato made in the kitchen tried to eat the sink." Shinji said, gesturing to the sink which had some sort of chemical burn. On stainless steel.
Misato strikes again.
"No problem Shinji!" Melfina replied cheerfully. "To be honest I needed to get out of the house. Jim is kind of bugging everyone about Tobias's trip."
"You don't think he's right do you? You don't think Tobias is in trouble?" Shinji asked concerned. Melfina ruffled his hair and he frowned.
"Jim tends to worry, it's what he does. I think it's odd Tobias didn't saying aything, but it may just be his way."
"Afternoon all." J'dee said, entering the kitchen.
"Hi!" Shinji greeted her, and while the other echoed his greeting, Misato just grunted and cracked open her beer.
"Got that box set." J'dee said, setting it on the table. Seeing Misato was looking more like she wanted to shoot the thing then even look at it, Shinji picked it up and signed it before handing it to Misato who sighed.
~*~*~*~
“That club sounds fun have you been there before?” Misato asked handing the signed box back over the table to J’dee.
“Not really I haven’t really had a time to go out and explore. Plus Belle thinks my sense of direction rivals Kenpachi and Yachiru’s so I have to have someone with me at all time.” J’dee rolled her eyes putting the signed box back in her bag.
Shinji just seemed to sit there watching the interaction at the table, sipping his drink quietly.
“Man this is really good Mel sure knows how to cook!” Zack exclaimed.
J’dee shot him a look. “Oh but you won’t eat anything I cook?”
Zack laughed nervously. “Well it’s not that it’s just… that you don’t handle cooking very well. I admit you bake well though. So if I wasn’t worried about keeping fit I could live on chocolate banana cake and Caramel fudge I would.”
Washu snickered. “Keep digging.”
“So making you stay on the balcony tonight.” J’dee mumbled.
“Only if you remember to lock you door.” Zack pointed out.
J’dee frowned. “For that comment I will.”
Zack snapped his fingers. “Oh that’s right do you guys have a contact number we can call in case something goes down and we need to get a hold of you guys and Gene in case of our lovely shadow buddies and friends making a surprise attack?”
~*~*~*~
Belle waited till they were on the road back home to talk to Hugue and Abel.
“Don’t mention this ability to the others just yet,” Belle began. “I’m not sure if this is a set ability due to what’s happening or if tonight I’m going to get the memories of some other soul.”
“You’re got the memories of other souls?” Abel asked in a strange voice.
“I’ve received two, Ed’s mother and Sanzo’s father figure,” Belle stated.
“Wait, a man?” Hugue asked and Belle nodded.
“I remember being one now, but I’m still Belle and these memories are like books on a shelf that I’ve already read. I know them but they don’t make me confused over who I am or where I am,” she explained…maybe bending the truth a little on that one.
“Has Noelle shown up?” Abel asked and Belle shook her head.
“No, they’re slow and I need to be around those that that person was close to, but I’ve gotten two shots so far, if we are made up of so many souls, I imagine it will be a regular occurrence,” she sighed.
~*~*~*~
The blonde figure stood in the trees watching as J’dee and Zack left Toby’s house waving to Misato who stood in the doorway.
“See you tomorrow night!”
He fingered the black cloak before watching the bike take off. “Damn Goddess, she’s not picking up on the hints I’m sending her to check the stupid barn.”
He was sure for a moment he saw the Goddess looking out at him from the window before he growled pointing at her.
“Going to get you soon girl.” He phased out of sight.
~*~*~*~
Belle walked into the apartment to see Grimmjow passed out on the sofa, a PS2 controller clutched in his hand.
“Do I try for it?” she muttered as she stared at him. “Nope, not worth scratches from that cat.” Belle went into her room and changed out of her work clothes into jeans and a baby tee. As she stepped out to make a snack there was a knock at the door.
“Hey honey, J’dee home?” Gojyo asked.
“Nope,” Belle stated as she opened the door and let Gojyo in. “Want a sandwich too?”
“I was hoping you would ask,” he said and Belle sighed.
“Figured,” she said as she started getting a snack together.
“Stupid cat fell asleep,” Gojyo muttered and there was a snarl and the sound of impact. “You bastard! That hurt!”
“My game,” Grimmjow grumbled.
“Oh yeah, don’t wake the cat up,” Belle called cheerfully from the kitchen.
“A little late!” Gojyo snapped.
“Oh well,” Belle chuckled.
~*~*~*~
Gojyo sat at the table eating a sandwich watching as J’dee walked in the lounge on the phone, he looked at Belle as she was putting away the dishes cleaned up from dinner.
“Miss you too mum…” J’dee seemed to smile for a moment. “Yeah I’m eating enough…”
Gojyo looked to the door seeing Havoc on the balcony, the blonde smoking a cigarette. He pushed his chair back for a moment.
“How’s boy doing?” He heard J’dee ask. He saw he smile for a moment. “How’d I know that was coming…? I swear he has the worst taste in women.”
Gojyo slipped outside pulling out a cigarette lighting it up and he lent on the railing next to Havoc.
“Are you up for the bar tab tomorrow night?” Gojyo joked.
Havoc looked at him with flat eyes. “I swear between, you Sanzo, and Misato I’m going to be broke before I even earn the pay check to pay for this.”
J’dee looked to the door seeing Havoc and Gojyo, she knew from Havoc’s expression Gojyo was teasing him.
“Everything is okay then…” She stopped for a moment. “Oh…” J’dee scratched the side of her face. “She said that?”
Belle paused to look at her. J’dee bit her bottom lip.
“Yeah I’m fine… at the moment… Promise. I’ll call you when I know. Alright… love you too… bye.” J’dee clicked the talk button off and she walked over hanging the phone up.
“Can’t hide much from her huh?” Belle joked.
“Clairvoyant for a mother I can only hide what the cosmos wants me to hide. She knew about Havoc… Alison told her.” J’dee drummed her fingers for a moment.
“And this calling her when you know business?”
“Apparently someone we know is on a dangerous journey or we’re going on one.” J’dee looked to the door. “Mum is wiring me the money from the sale of my white wear, she said I’m going to need it soon… Money for the trip she says.”
Belle nodded. “We’re going to need to talk to Toby about trying to find a way to return these guys home they can’t stay here.”
“I’m hoping tonight I’m going to get some answers for Kougaiji so I know where I can begin looking spell wise to help him out.” J’dee moved to the kitchen flicking the jug on and grabbing a couple of chamomile tea bags out of the packet and dropping them in to a mug, filling it a quarter way full of cold water.
She moved to the table sitting down to wait for the jug to boil.
“Do you think you can?” Belle asked.
“They told him to kill me and curse would be lifted, but what I’m thinking is kill the one who told Kou to kill me and it’s reversed. I think he told Kou a half truth, but I won’t know till tomorrow.” J’dee sighed. “Sometimes I wonder if I could possibly ever be at least the little bit normal.”
Belle chuckled. “Doubt it.” She teased.
J’dee shot her a look and Belle ducked out of range of being punched. “Smart ass.”

To Be Continued…
