Chapter 30

~*~*~*~

Belle handed Misato a glass of water before sitting down at the table. Vincent was watching over Alphonse at her request and she fought the urge to place a hand on Misato's shoulder. Belle hadn't watched the show but she knew just how violent Misato's temper could get.
“Now from the top, what the hell did Toby do to you?” Belle asked and Misato began her tale. Belle was thankful there wasn't anything perverted in the story but once Misato mentioned this woman, Belle felt something in her flutter.
“Wait, that's not like Toby,” Belle stated as she looked at Misato and then thought about Toby. He was a pervert, a horn-dog, but deep down, he was a gentleman and even if he saw a woman he liked more than the woman he was in, he wouldn't leave her in the middle of a date. He might end the date early, but he wouldn't walk away. Belle blinked and realized she had withdrawn too far into her head.
“The hell it isn't!” Misato yelled, tears in her eyes and Belle got a bad feeling. “He fucking did it to me!” Belle felt bad for Misato, but Belle had been taught that outbursts were in poor taste, especially if her outbursts caused damage to others. Misato had obviously not been taught that as she lifted the glass of water and hurled it at the door. Belle shot her hands out, one at Misato, stopping the woman from moving her limbs while the other one grasped at the cup, causing the remaining water to wrap around the glass cushioning it from the door and then the floor. Belle used the water to put the glass upright and then placed the water in the glass.
“I'm not saying he didn't do it, Misato, so do me a favor and leave my belongings alone,” Belle stated as she picked up the glass and put it into the sink.
“Let me the fuck go!” Misato screamed and Belle sighed as she sat down at the table.
“No, you're going to break my stuff and I'm not going to let shit run down hill thank you very much,” Belle stated as she crossed her arms allowing Misato to scream her rage instead of destroying Belle and J'dee's belongings.

J'dee sat in the circle of spell books, Cloud lent against the wall by her bedroom door arms crossed, his head down. J'dee looked up at him briefly for a moment it as almost like he was thinking… or sleeping standing up. She flipped the page in the spell book, the memories she had in all the life times, Zack, Cloud, Reno everything had prevented her from helping Kougaiji out in his promise to awaken Doku, Lirin and Yaone. She stopped for a moment. She hadn't seen the demon prince around much, but with Sanzo and Gojyo gone he had obviously gone to Hakkai and Goku probably to keep them on their toes and that they now had a similar goal. Return those who they cared about most.
“Are you going to do that all night?” Cloud asked finally.
J'dee looked up at him. “Yeah I promised Kougaiji I would help him.”
“And will you help Zack too?”
She smiled slightly. “If I can get close enough to him without Air around I promise Cloud I'll help Zack… We'll get him back and return him to his normal goofball self.” J'dee stopped looking down at the spell blinking for a moment. “Oooh baby jackpot… I might be able to help Kougaiji out using this spell.”

It was at that moment, J'dee felt the air grow cold and she looked up hearing Misato's voice in the lounge shouting and the language was really colorful for an officer of Nerv.
Cloud looked over. “Expecting company?”
“Not this late… Best to check it out.” J'dee marked the page in the book and lifted her hand smiling as the book floated in the air before she deposited it in to its spot on the bookshelf. “Oooh Bewitched eat your heart out.”
Cloud opened the door for her and J'dee stopped seeing a frozen Misato in their lounge. “Well that's one way to cool down a temper ridden women.” She commented.
“I should use it on you.” Belle joked.
“Hehe try it and I'll have you floating like a helium balloon.” J'dee giggled. “So what's the buzz?”
Belle sighed. “Not sure I want to repeat all that.”
She stopped as she felt the wind whip around her the voice filling her ears of Misato's experience before she looked to Belle. “You don't have too.”
“You know?” Cloud looked at her. “What happened?”
“Toby was going OOC even for him.” J'dee stated. “Least that's what the wind said in much many more words that were a bit too colorful to repeat unless we're going R 18.”
“What did he do?” Cloud looked at Misato.
“He walked out on a date with her. Into another woman's arms… not his style.” J'dee replied.

“Something is obviously wrong with Toby, he would never do that to a woman, he's a pig, but he wears gentlemen's clothing,” Belle stated as she watched Misato fight the control Belle had on her body. It was draining and Belle knew she couldn't keep this up too much longer, but Misato seemed like she was going to stop in the not to distant future and Belle just needed to last that long.
“It's got to be a spell,” J'dee sighed and Belle looked at her.
“You know, I'm actually willing to accept that completely,” Belle laughed and J'dee smirked.
“He's also an idiot for getting caught in it,” J'dee commented as the two watched Misato pant for air. “Think she's done?”
“Not risking her breaking my TV,” Belle stated and J'dee nodded.
“Good thinking, should we go take care of Toby?” she asked.
“I'm going to be drained from holding her, better wait till tomorrow,” Belle sighed and J'dee nodded. “Go back to bed, I'll take care of our guest. We'll save Toby's dumb ass tomorrow.”
“I better rest up, no knowing what…Fire…has waiting for Toby,” she said and Belle wondered just what was in store for each of them.

Tobias whistled as he lifted the welcome mat and grabbed the spare key to open his front door. He carelessly tossed the key on the dining room table as he walked past to his room. As he dressed for bed, he smiled softly to himself.

“Remember, Toby, you must go home. Pack in the morning and bring some clothes for a while. Take with you all the information I've asked for and fly the mech to this clearing. I'll be waiting here for you.” Kari whispered in his ear. Tobias shivered, and tightened his arms around her. They lay on the hood of Kari's car in the middle of large clearing she had driven them to.

“Anything you ask of me I'll do.” Tobias said, and moaned as Kari nuzzled into his side.

“Good boy. If you do all of this I'll reward you.” Kari said and trailed her fingers down the front of his chest, sliding her hand under the bottom front of his shirt to run her hand along his chest. Tobias shivered in lust.

“One last thing. Don't let anyone take anything from you, and if they try to stop them, kill anyone you see.”

“Yes…” Tobias groaned as she caressed him. “Anything for you.”

Tobias smiled as he cuddled his pillows.

Tomorrow was going to be a great day.

“What's with the chick on the couch?” Grimmjow asked as Belle cooked breakfast and Belle looked over at Misato.
“Oh, she had an encounter with an asshole of a man,” Belle stated before adding another pancake to the pile and then slapped Grimmjow's hand with the spatula. “After I've finished, I'll never get any if you sneak them. Scat!”
“I'm not a pet!” Grimmjow snarled and Belle turned from the stove and smiled at him, batting her eyes at him.
“I bet you'd let me pet you if I asked nicely,” she whispered in a husky voice and Grimmjow grinned before getting slapped with the spatula. “Go play with Ikkaku or Kenpachi.”
“I'm not a child either!” he snapped and Belle rolled her eyes.
“You're still annoying like one,” Belle stated.

J'dee was on the balcony leaning on it with a sigh using a can for an ashtray, wearing her black jeans and one of Gojyo's jackets she found while re-arranging her room after Misato crashed out. It was mean to suck the air out of the woman's lunges to make her pass out but it worked. After that she had deposited the Nerv officer on the couch with a pillow and blanket then went about sorting through her wardrobe to the tucked and hidden away spell books for a back up spell for Kougaiji when she saw Gojyo's jacket just hanging in there.
So she was wearing it.

She stopped sensing eyes looking at her as she flicked the ash into the can before depositing the butt in there.
“Mornin' miss J'dee.”
J'dee looked two balcony's over to see Hakkai standing there, she saw that closed eye sad smile on the demon killer's face and she smiled back.
“Mornin' Hakkai.” He held a fresh cup of tea in his hands.
She looked to Gojyo's jacket looking down. “We'll get him back I promise.”
Hakkai looked at her before nodding. “I believe so… but I feel I should be doing more to… try to get him back. It was my fault Sanzo was captured.”
“How we're you to know?” J'dee looked towards the morning sun, the air was still crisp, it was these moments she loved about mornings, when she was up in time.
She saw Kougaiji move to the balcony, the demon prince glanced at her, the wind seemed to whip about a bit blowing the white tunic he wore around, his hair moved with the wind for a moment as he looked at her.
“I have a few tests I need to do with the spell but I'm sure by the weeks end I'll be able to help you Kou.” She remarked taking on Doku's nick for his beloved leader and friend.
The prince merely only nodded his head.
“Don't try to over exert yourself doing everything Miss J'dee.” Hakkai commented. “Even the wind needs to take a break.”
J'dee waved her hand for a moment and the sound from her stereo in her room wafted out the open door.
“I'll be fine.”
Kougaiji stepped up on to the balacony before leaping up and off landing in the park across the road before vanishing, phasing out of sight.
“Such a sociable man that one.” She smiled.
“Yes but I believe he doesn't use a can for his ashtrays either.” Hakkai smiled.
J'dee flinched, one of Hakkai's pet peevs about Gojyo and she was repeating the action. “Yeah go us lower class people we rock.” She chuckled. “Havoc stole my ashtray last night after I put Misato to sleep. Seems Roy had a moment last night and blew up the last one.”
“The Colonel must be getting stressed.”
“Not really.” J'dee looked towards the plates still lingering over the city. “Seems their central building popped up on our maps last night, he got a nice reminder phonecall Havoc stated from the Fürher. Wondering why I'm not dead yet.” She set the can down and gripped the railing rocking back and forward hanging onto it.
“What did he say?”
“Nothing. But seems his rank was threatened hence Havoc lost his ashtray.”
“I'm sure like myself Miss Belle won't be pleased with the can.”
“I'll clean it up later. Got an angry Nerv officer to attend to first and a flame boy who needs to be snuffed out.” J'dee smiled at Hakkai. “I'll catch up with you later. Can't waste too much of this nice morning, so I hope you have a good day.”

Hakkai let out a chuckle. Watching J'dee head back inside after bidding him a good day, he had been watching her for a while that morning smoking her cigarette.
At first his tired mind had thought it was Gojyo the jacket, red hair, can cigarette, until he smelt the familiar scent of Marlboro red and remembered Gojyo disliked the brand. Then the lack of height made him realize just who it was on the balcony.
Hakkai let out a breath. “I hope you two are okay.” He turned round heading inside to make sure Goku had a breakfast on the table, sometimes he just didn't want to bother, but it was something to distract him from his worry, before Goku would state the obvious and head out there again to try again to get Gojyo and Sanzo out, but the security had been amped up so even getting inside was proving to be difficult.
Closing the sliding door behind himself Hakkai set about keeping his mind occupied with making Goku a decent sized breakfast.

“Wake up, Misato,” Belle said as she shook the sleeping woman awake.
“Huh?” Misato grunted and Belle placed a cup of extra strong coffee into the woman's hand.
“Hurry up, we're going to Toby's soon,” Belle stated and Misato sipped the coffee, looking more like shit. Belle sighed as she looked at J'dee and the redhead nodded. The shinigami and the Fullmetal group save for Alphonse would be coming with them. Belle had asked Vincent to take care of the baby and the vampire had been hesitant but he had eventually given in. Hugue and Tres would be watching the building as well so Belle wasn't worried about the baby…that much.

“Good morning, Shinji!” Tobias replied happily. Shinji stared wide eyed as Tobias happily hummed along, setting a few bags by the front door. He headed for his study to get his account ledger. Couldn't forget that, Kari wanted it too!

“I guess you had a good night then?” Shinji muttered, following Tobias. Tobias nodded as he grabbed all his ledgers, and stuffed them into a knap sack. He then headed down the hall to Washu's room, and knocked on the door three times to activate the portal to her lab. Shinji followed, curious as to how well the night went for his guardian and friend.

“So what did you guys do?” Shinji asked. Tobias picked up all the documents he could and began stuffing them into the knapsack.

“We had dinner, some drinks, talked for a bit and then she took me to this field out in the middle of nowhere and talked some more. I'm supposed to meet her there with Jehuty and all these documents.” Tobias replied cheerfully. They left Washu's lab and headed for the front door. Shinji frowned as they walked. This wasn't making a lot of sense.

“Why does Misato want you to meet her there? Wouldn't it be better if you both went together?” Shinji asked. Tobias shot Shinji a puzzled look.

“Misato? Who cares about her? I left her there when I saw Kari. She should be home already.” Tobias informed Shinji, and Shinji's jaw dropped in surprise.

“You ditched Misato?

Air let out a growl once the shadow minion bowed and vanished. “What the fuck?! What the hell does Fire think she's doing?!”
He stopped seeing Gojyo hanging in the chain smirking. “Don't give me that look you damn roach!”
“You don't like loosing to girls do you dude?”
“Shut the hell up. I hate losing to power hungry fuckwits.” He spun round.
It was obvious now, he sent the minion off to report Fire's action to Water and Earth, best they knew the red headed bimbo was out there jumping the gun.
Stalking out of the room he walked to where his tanks were stored and he looked at Ichigo and Kyo in the tanks, he would add the perverted red head in there but he knew like always Hakkai and Goku would make another attempt to break into their base. But Earth didn't want their location shifted; even Water agreed for some reason, Air had to wonder if it wasn't for the location.
He stood there for a moment staring at the two orange haired teens that could almost possibly pass for brothers.
“I need Cloud… damnit…” He turned round there had to be a way to get Cloud to leave the woman's side. He already knew about their indiscretions he'd heard the whole ordeal.

The only time he left the woman's side was to talk to Vincent. It seems he would have to start working on his Vincent voice to lure the blonde from her side.

Belle looked around Toby's farm and she got a bad feeling. She didn't know what it was but she was nervous and she didn't quite trust what was going on. Without meaning too Belle brought as much of the ground water up as she could without turning the yard to mud, just in case.
She headed to the door, pausing to look back at Misato, she looked a little broken so Belle looked at Kenpachi and Roy, they nodded and flanked the woman. If Toby was under a spell who knew what he would do? She knocked on the door and Toby opened it up, looking somewhat hopeful and then obviously disappointed.
“Jeeze Toby, every girl hopes a man will open his door like that to her,” Belle said snidely and there was a slight chuckle from J'dee. Toby looked irritated and Belle got a bad feeling.

~*~*~*~

"What do you guys want?" Tobias huffed. Belle glanced around him to see Shinji, who looked angry.

"Misato came to see us last night, Toby." Belle replied. She gestured to woman who waited with Roy and Kenpachi, still dressed in her clothes from last night. Tobias rolled his eyes.

"So? Look, I have to get going Kari is waiting for me so if we could hurry the fuck up, I'd appreciate it." Tobias snapped. Belle frowned.

"Toby something is wrong with you. I've never known you to act like this, especially to a woman. What you did last night was damn cold." Belle scolded. Tobias rolled his eyes.

"That doesn't matter; all that matters right now is Kari." He replied. He frowned when he saw J'dee making gestures at him. "What the hell is she doing?"

"I'm just checking for something Toby." J'dee replied. She finished her spell, and saw the aura around his head connected by a strand to his back left packet. "Belle there is a spell on him, there's something in his wallet."

"Toby just let us look in your wallet, I'm sure we can fix you." Belle replied, reaching around him. Tobias scowled, and smacked her arm away with his hand. Belle cried out as her forearm slammed into the door frame.

"Belle!" Ed called out alarmed.

"I'm okay!" She assured him, clutching her throbbing arm. Tobias glared at her.

"Kari told me not let you take anything of mine."

That cinched it. Tobias was definitely under this woman's control.

"Okay then we do this the hard way." Belle responded. Tobias suddenly thrust his right hand, palm out, and slammed it against Belle's chest. Everyone cried out in horror as Tobias blasted her away with burst of fire.

"I so totally agree."

Belle knew she was flying through the air but she wasn't doing that, instead she was on a beach beside a river, but the colors were slightly off. The water and the sky were right, but the sand was black as was the grass and the leave, the tree trunks were white. She stared at the surroundings for a moment before realizing where she was.
“I'm not a shinigami…well that I know of,” Belle said.
“Well, we're certainly not anymore,” a voice said and she turned to face him. It was strange, Koumyou had been a man, he had had the same color eyes and hair, but he had had twenty years on her at least. This man was closer to her age and he did look similar to her. His hair had more red in the brown and his eyes a golden brown, but the features.
“Guess I know what I would have looked if I had been a boy,” Belle muttered and the man chuckled as he looked at her. The uniform was familiar.
“You were one of Kensei's men, no wonder most of the current shinigami with us didn't know you,” Belle sighed as she shook her head.
“My name was….” he began.
“Eishima,” she finished with him and he blinked.
“I knew that from the massive soul flash,” Belle stated and Eishima laughed.
“I guess I don't have to shield the rest of us then,” he said and suddenly the beach Belle was standing on was filled with people most of whom, she recognized.
“Oh boy,” Belle muttered.

~*~*~*~

J'dee's hand shot out and the air cushioned Belle but instantly she knew the woman was separated from her body. She knew these situations well, being that she used to have them often. She lowered her friend's resting body to the ground softly.
“I got her Ed, just cool that hot head off.” J'dee stated, she stopped looking up seeing the several white feathers floating to the ground.
She held her hand out letting the white feather land in her hand.
`Zack…' She clutched at the feather for a moment. She stopped seeing Cloud pull Zack's bike up to the farmland the blonde stepped off the bike his weapons slot opening up and he grabbed the large Buster sword.
She raced up to him stopping him. “No Cloud don't… Just watch Belle for me please. We'll handle this. It's a spell. It's my specialty.” J'dee stated. `Sometimes...' She added mentally.
“Aerith if he hurts you.”
“Cloud he's not Sephiroth… He's my friend just let us try. We can break this spell.” J'dee reassured the blonde. Before looking over in time to catch Armstrong flex before his fist hit the ground and several rocks shot out of the ground. “If they don't kill him first.” She added with flat eyes. “They have to wait in line… Me first.”

~*~*~*~

“What are you all talking to me?” Belle asked and there was a moment of silence. “Oh, that's not promising.”
“You need to learn to use our power,” a gentle voice said and Belle looked at Koumyou. “You've been able to tap into our abilities and our skills, but it requires focus and it drains your energy.” He approached her and Belle felt an amazing amount of peace.
“Teach me,” Belle asked and Koumyou smiled.
“You'll have to absorb each of us,” Koumyou he said and Belle paused.
“Aren't we already…you know…one?” Belle asked and Koumyou shook his head.
“We are still separate parts of an original soul, we will always exist in one form or another, but we need to merge to that origin point,” Koumyou stated.
“Will you be hurt?” she asked and he placed a hand on her head like she were a child.
“No, we will be going home,” Koumyou stated before he pressed his head to hers and Belle closed her eyes as she felt the memories and abilities of the man known as Koumyou Sanzo permeate her being. The memories of Koumyou were gone, but the powers and the abilities were hers, she knew the moves and she understood the meditation.
“You need to take care of that goofball for me,” Noelle said and Belle nodded as she began to reunite the pieces of her soul.

“Ken-chan!” Yachiru called out, bouncing off her friend as Armstrong finished capturing Tobias with rock bonds from the ground.

“On it!” Kenpachi roared, rushing forward, cracking his giant knuckles. He swung his right fist up to bring it down on Tobias's head and knock him out. Before he had a chance Tobias burst into flames. However, unlike before maintained the flames, and even his clothes seemed to be stable flame. Tobias melted the rock, letting it melt to the ground and release him. He nimbly dodged Kenpachi's fist.

“What, you didn't think it'd be that easy did you? I have learned A LOT recently.” Tobias taunted.

“Chemistry 101, without oxygen, fire can't burn!” Mustang shouted and stepped back from the transmutation circle he'd drawn. Stamping his foot down, a huge wave of earth rose to smother Tobias. Just before it crashed down, Tobias shot up into the sky and hovered.

“Human Torch, eat you're heart out.” Tobias said, and cackled. He was surprised when the shinigami threw Ed and Grimmjow into the air.

“EAT THIS!” Ed cried, slapping his hands, transmuting his arm into a blade, and Grimmjow drew his sword as they collided with Tobias. Tobias caught Ed's arm at the wrist and spun out of the way of Grimmjow. He caught the passing feline Espada by his hair and smirked as Grimmjow growled when he came to suddenly stop by his hair roots.

“Down boy!” Tobias mocked and threw the hissing Espada into the pool. He smirked at Ed whose arm was beginning to heat up. “You're next little boy.”

“Don't call me little, match stick!” Ed screamed, and buried the shin of his metal leg into Tobias crotch, forcing the Fire elemental to drop him.

~*~*~*~

There was a sudden gust of wind and Cloud saw the feathers and Aerith was gone in a blink then he saw her in the air her fist collided with the side of Toby's face, sending him back for a moment.
“Down fly boy you're not the only one who can fly!”
“Since when could she do that?” Havoc seemed to question lighting his cigarette.
“New developments obviously.” Roy commented helping Ed up off the ground, the youth shrugging him off.
“I'm fine!” Ed growled.

J'dee dodged the burst of fire then snuffed the second out, as she hovered there. It was a weird feeling hovering wasn't her specialty not just yet… and heights… weren't exactly her favorite thing, she had a feeling this was part of her powers but she never expected she could fly so soon, least she didn't think this was flying but more like hovering.
“And here I thought you needed a broomstick.” Toby seemed to taunt her.
“Don't make me hex you… boy.” She held her hand up the wind swirling round in it before she tossed the spinning gust of air in his direction.
“Air feeds fire or have you forgotten.” His flames absorbing the wind.

It was then he got a round house kick to the stomach when she seemed to reappear on the wind right behind the attack. J'dee brought the heel of her wedge shoe into his lower back with a back kick sending him forward for a moment.
She caught the glare he tossed her over her shoulder. She admitted she was rusty on her martial arts she did it for three years but had never found another style to pick up once that dojo had closed down. Training with Cloud had sped up some reflexes she knew she had, but she was nowhere near on the par she had been on several years ago.

“AERITH!”
She dodged the several flame attacks that came her way. She looked at Cloud for the moment and was caught off guard as a burst of flame hit her, she managed to snuff out the sleeve of Gojyo's jacket and sighed.
“Oiy this isn't my coat asshole!” She shouted at him shrugging out of the coat and letting it drop to the ground below them.

It was amazing to have so much knowledge without the burden of the person, Belle was fairly certain she could pull the memories of any of her lives should she desire, but she had a feeling allowing the sleeping souls to merge with her would be for the best.
“Thank you,” a voice said and Belle looked at the woman in front of her. She blinked before nodding.
“No problem, Trisha, it was an honor to help him,” Belle stated and Trisha nodded.
“Still, thank you, will you tell them why?” Trisha asked and Belle nodded.
“Of course I will,” Belle said as she embraced Trisha before looking at Eishima. They were alone. “Your turn.”
“Tell Hisagi, I'm glad he's become a true warrior, the captain would be proud to have him as his Lieutenant,” Eishima said and Belle nodded.
“I will,” she said and he smiled as he embraced her, his hand shoving something into hers and she grasped it tightly as she closed her eyes, praying she would not need it. “Thank you.”
“We are one, so it was always yours,” Eishima's voice whispered and Belle opened her eyes. Her body was slightly sore but not damaged in fact, she felt fantastic. She stood up from where she had fallen on the ground and looked at Toby, he seemed oblivious to what had happened to her. He was going to regret that.

~*~*~*~

"Enough of this horse shit." Tobias snarled. He remained undamaged, but everyone else was a bit worse for wear. Unlike them Tobias was not holding back to try a save a friend. "I'm going to Kari, but I'm going to kill you all first."

"You're more than welcome to try." Belle's voice called out from behind him. Tobias turned in shock and saw her slowly standing up. Her breath was being expelled in cold mist as everyone saw her undamaged chest slowly coating with ice. Belle's tone could only be described as icy as she spoke. "I'm going to kick your ass back to normal Tobias Fiften."

"And I'm going to help." J'dee snarled standing beside her female friend as she closed her eyes before there was a flash of white and she bore two angel wings. Tobias's responded with a feral grin and cracked his fingers.

"Try me."

~*~*~*~

Belle simply looked at Toby for a moment before she let the ice coat her in a basic armor that remained under her clothes.
“Toby, you may not like it but you're being controlled,” Belle stated as she looked at her friend. His eyes were dead, like the eyes of a deer mount, she had hoped that reasoning would work but it was obvious she was wrong.
“Like you two could stop me!” Toby laughed and Belle pulled the water out of the ground like a jet hitting Toby and throwing him into the side of the house.
“Oh, I wan to try,” J'dee cried as she leapt into the air and Belle used her water whips to throw Toby away from the side of his house so J'dee could attack.

~*~*~*~

The wings seemed to help her glide through the air, the wind whipped about her and she used the friction of the air to hold him in place as she speed in her foot connecting with his stomach then she spun round the back fist slamming him in the face, and the other hand shot out tiger palm style sending him sprawling back to the ground.
J'dee landed on the ground momentarily distracted by the feathers remembering Zack's whispered words before he ran off chasing the ghost of his past.
`It wasn't Angeal was it Air… those were my feathers…' She thought sadly feeling the guilt inside her, her eyes closed for a moment. Air used the feathers with Angeal's voice to lure Zack off onto the wild goose chase that cost him.
`Damnit you idiot… don't distract me now… I'm not loosing anyone else I care about.'

~*~*~*~

Toby staggered to his feet and Belle was quick to hit him with another burst and he snarled.
“Damn you bitch!” he roared and Belle did her best to keep dousing him. He went down to his knees for a second and Belle hesitated. It was a moment too long and Toby flew into the air on fire.
“Crap, J'dee you need to get him,” Belle sighed and J'dee nodded from where she hovered in the air. Belle watched as Toby avoided J'dee and Belle began to make her water wave around behind her and Toby's eyes landed on her.
“Die!” he snarled and Belle jumped back as a column of water shot into the air in front of her. Toby dodged it but it gave J'dee time to try to get him.

~*~*~*~

"Belle, the pool!" J'dee shouted, and slammed Tobias straight down with a suddenly blast from above. Tobias's flight was halted as he was sent careening straight into the pool. He hit it with an explosion, bursting it out and sending water everywhere in a giant explosion. They waited for the steam to clear and they groaned as they saw Tobias standing in the middle, no longer on fire but still pissed off.

"Nice try but you'll have to do better than that!" Tobias snarled, his hands starting to flicker with renewed flames.

"Can do!" Belle cried. She gestured and all the water scattered over the lawn suddenly flew to Tobias and coated him. Before he could heat it and make it evaporate off Belle gestured again and the water froze instantly.

"Hurry, before he melts it off!" They rushed over and yanked the frozen pocket of his jeans off, tearing it away to reveal his wallet. They hurried away with it and began to dig threw it. Belle focused trying to keep the ice frozen on Tobias, but there was already a layer of water between him and the ice which was starting to boil rapidly.

"Here, this is it!" J'dee cried, finding a small paper person cut out with blood in the shape of T on it. It had been between two photos in his wallet. Just then the ice exploded off Tobias who was looking mightily pissed. He raised his hands and cupped them before him, fire appear between them and began to grow.

"How do we break the spell?" Belle said. J'dee shrugged.

"When all else fails..." J'dee muttered, and tore the figure in half. Tobias faltered and blinked rapidly. He let the fire in his hands flicker out. He stared at them in horror.

"Toby, you okay now?" Belle asked, cautious.

"Oh god, it felt like some horrible nightmare." Tobias whispered. He jolted and whirled around to face Misato.

"Oh Misato, oh God, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that, I honestly didn't! I never wanted to leave you, I-!" Tobias was cut off as Misato rushed him and hugged him, burying her face into his chest.

"You stupid idiot." she mumbled into his chest. Tobias hugged her back.

"Toby what do you remember?" J'dee asked. Tobias frowned.

"Everything unfortunately."

"Do you know who this Kari is? Does she work for one of them?"

"Worse, she's Fire."

“Not that we didn't expect that,” Belle sighed and Toby looked shocked.
“What do you mean expected that?” Toby cried and Belle rolled her eyes.
“We knew which elements we are and who are after us, if you go psycho and act totally not like yourself, chances are good it had something to do with the creature that wants to kill you specifically,” Belle sighed. “Of course, I don't wonder if it's not a sign of how they treat each other.”
“What do you mean?” J'dee asked as she played with her wings and Belle slapped her hand.
“Stop that…I mean, this Kari, Fire, whoever, she had Toby willing to kill us no matter who we were. If she's working with Air and Water then she nearly tried to kill her `allies' goals,” Belle explained and the two looked at her. “That's not very friendly if you ask me.”

Looking at the talisman she was insulted by the basic structure of such a talisman, J'dee never used physical talismans short of tattooing similar ones on her body so she didn't have to deal with stupid bits of paper. All her spells were her own with a few spell books fifty or so when she couldn't be bothered making her own.

J'dee handed the ripped talisman to Toby. “So you recognize this?” She asked.
She looked to Cloud who stepped up beside her looking at the wings, she looked away quickly as he touched the wings as if testing their authenticity. She doubted Sephiroth ever let him get close enough to touch, but the blonde was definitely curious for the moment.
`God I hope they retract because otherwise sleeping will be really difficult otherwise.' She thought to herself seeing Toby looking at the talisman.

“Oh I recognize it alright.” Tobias muttered, examining it. “It's from an anime called Bible Black. It's a hentai anime actually and a lot of it involves an evil woman using spells to avoid going to hell because of a deal she made with the devil. This talisman makes the target fall in total and complete love with the target the caster chooses. It can be the caster or some one else. It's especially designed for the target by using the caster's blood and writing the first letter of target's first name on the cut out. Then the target has to pick it up, and the next time they see the person the target is suppose to love it kicks in. It explains why it was in my wallet, I'd have recognized it right away if it was in the open.” Tobias said and sighed.

“So you'd pick it up and not even know about it.” J'dee reasoned. “I'm not familiar with the series but these magics are not like mine.”

“They're dark, sexual magic.” Tobias informed her. “I'm sure Fire wanted to use the talisman to get me to sleep with her. There's a ritual that is performed during sex in a magic circle. If I'd been under the talisman's influence I'd have willingly let her take my soul into her own body.”

“Shit, so we need to watch out for these things now?” Ed grumbled.

“They're easy enough to avoid, just check anything you pick up. If you see one just tear it up without looking at anyone first.” Tobias reasoned. Just then the Outlaw Star crew came crashing threw the woods.

“We came as fast as we could when we heard the explosions!” Aisha exclaimed.

“Better late then never I suppose.”

“Well I guess since we're all here, we might as well talk like we were supposed to today.”

“Anyway, I need to have access to Washu's tanks in the barn,” Belle sighed as she sat down in the house.
“What? Why?” Toby asked obviously thinking about Kari and her new acquisition.
“Because Alphonse is an infant, I can't prepare for Kari or Air or Water with him completely helpless,” Belle sighed and there was a moment.
“No problem, but we can't do anything without Washu,” Toby stated and Belle rolled her eyes.
“Don't worry about it, I can take care of Alphonse, Washu showed me where the manual for the tube was when I was getting my nutrient shots,” Belle sighed as she shook her head. “I'll take care of Alphonse.”
“Do you need help?” J'dee asked and Belle shook her head.
“I'll be fine,” Belle said as she looked at the barn through the window.

“Bible Black huh?” J'dee mused. “Jubei's got a couple of episodes, she was going to show me but she knows how insulted I get by improper magick in series… That's how I get out of watching any Harry Potter movies with her.” She beamed.
“Harry… Potter…?” Cloud raised a brow.
“Anyways within the next few days I think we need to get together and do some group training, if what is displayed by Fire's impatience. They don't work well together and the best way to defeat those who don't get along is to become a bit more unified…” J'dee remarked. “I'm not saying Shinji, Asuka, Rei sync situation… because like hell I'm going through that.” She added.
She saw Shinji flush in embarrassment. “You saw that…?”
J'dee grinned. “Oooh yeah.. such the cute couple.” She teased nudging Shinji making him blush.
“Worse than Misato.” He mumbled.
J'dee gave him a hug. “When you get home can you pass on a message to Asuka for me…” She touched him on the head her face going serious for a moment. “Tell her I'm sorry… I really am… I'll try to be a better mother next time… I know now… family comes first.” She smiled.
“So when do you want to start this training?” Toby asked.
“Well we can work it around Alphonse's growth spurt. “Next couple of days I think, or sooner if you're up for it. “We're getting echoes from their worlds here now… stable solid echos. Air's breaking the dimensions with all his jumping worlds and leaving portholes open. I can hear the jerk… he's so freaken loud about it.” She let out a sigh letting Shinji go and ruffling his hair. “We'll be off now. I'm going to drop by Seventh Heaven on the way home, need to let Tifa know Cloud's alright. We'll be back… We'll call and let you know when we're coming over for some training, you got the better area for it… can't hide behind the body like I have been for the past two days training neighbors are starting to go WTF mate.” She gave Toby a tight hug almost squeezing the air out of him. “If you let yourself get cast upon again, I'm revoking your friendship okay, I refuse to have a friend who falls into spells so easily when he has a witch for one of his best friends…” She let go stepping back. “Take care and be seeing you soon.”

J'dee headed to the car where Belle was. “Okay lets go… but stop by Seventh Heaven just going to open the door and call in to Tifa that Cloud is okay…” She looked at Cloud getting on Zack's bike. “Follow us okay? I think Tifa will be happy to see you're okay.”
Cloud merely nodded and J'dee slipped into the passenger side shutting the door and looking at Gojyo's burnt jacket on the backseat.
She opened her mouth to say something but then shut it again.
Belle looked at her. “Something up?” She asked starting the car and pulling out of Toby's driveway.
“I was going to say it's really quiet without Gojyo or Zack around… but Reno seems to be filling in fine for both of them.” J'dee smiled slightly. Still inside even with Reno there it didn't make up for how much she missed having those self proclaimed ladies men hanging around the apartment.
“Don't remind me.” Belle groaned.
J'dee let out a breath. “I totally messed up.” She fingered the packet of Marlboro red.
“Tell me about it… at least I don't have to ask you for details in the future…” Belle grinned teasingly.
J'dee let her nose curl up. “At least you only get the visual you know how annoying it is to just have audio to Reno's morning showers… I don't need to hear that… ear plugs just don't work. He's too damn loud.”
“Must be a red head thing.” Belle teased.
“I'm not loud!” J'dee exclaimed looking worried for a moment. “Am I?”
Belle just grinned as she continued to drive.
J'dee pouted looking out the window at the scenery as it passed by. Even so many months down the track she still couldn't get used to this driving on the right hand side of the road. “Americans…” She grumbled. “Weird the lot of you.”

“Misato, you mind if I come in?” Tobias called through her bedroom door. Misato looked up from her desk where she was finishing.

“Sure, I'm just about done.” She replied and Tobias opened the door. He paused before entering, seeing Misato pull back the bolt on her hand gun as she finished cleaning it. As the bolt snapped back he paled a bit. “Er…..have I said I was sorry about last night yet?”

“Several times and I forgive you.” Misato said, smirking. She gestured to her gun resting on the desk. “This is for that bitch, Fire.”

“You'll get no complaint from me.” Tobias said and crossed his arms, leaning against her doorframe. “I wondered if you'd like to have a picnic together.”

“What here?” Misato asked, amused. Tobias grinned.

“I have used a little application of heat and dried my soaking lawn. Shinji is currently finishing our picnic basket for the two of us.” Tobias pushed away from the doorway and held his hand out to her. “What's say we finish our conversation from last night the right way.”

Misato smiled as she took his hand.

“I'd be more than willing too.”
