Like I said in the last chapter, one of the Digimon 01/02 gang is going to be the final Signer, but I won’t agree or deny anything, everyone. You also must be wondering what Yami Marik is going to have to do with the story, huh? I won’t say anything other than that part will be coming up shortly and those after the Signers shall be coming back in due time, folks! But enough from me, it is time for the show!

Chapter 8: The Chunin Exams 2: Orochimaru’s Attack!

Today, we find ourselves within Neo Domino City where we find ourselves in front of Neo Domino City’s Duel Academy where we find one Daisuke ‘Davis’ Motomiya, wearing a New Domino City Duel Academy uniform, coming out into the open where we find the little dragon, Veemon, waiting for him.

Veemon tells Davis, “Hey, Davis!”

Davis says, with a smile, “Hey, pal! Hope you didn’t get into any trouble!”

Veemon asks, slyly, “Would I do that Davis?”

Davis thinks in his mind, with a slight sweatdrop, “Do I really have to answer that Veemon?”

Just then a beeping sound is heard and Veemon asks Davis, “Is that your D-Terminal?”

Davis says, with a sigh, “Yep, buddy. I hope that it is just Ken this time.” Davis takes out a small device and opens it up in which he reads what’s on the D-Terminal in which his eyes widen.

Veemon asks, seeing this, “What’s wrong, Davis?”

Davis asks, plainly, “Is this some kind of joke?”

Just then a male voice calls out, “I can assure you that this is no joke, Motomiya-san.” Davis and Veemon whip to the source of the voice to see a figure from a distance at a nearby tree and the figure says, “Your comrades, Taichi and Hikari Kamiya, have been kidnapped and taken very far away. Their parents think that they are off visiting someone and we have ways to ‘changing people’s minds’, Motomiya-san.”

Davis yells out, angrily, “You piece of trash! What do you want?”

The figure replies, “You, Motomiya-san. You will come to the location that we have downloaded into your device and you’ll come alone with only that creature beside you. Don’t even bring your duel disk and dueling deck and especially none of your allies or they will pay the price.”

Davis calls out, angrily, “I may have my problems, but if any harm comes to them, you’ll regret it!”

The figure replies, plainly, “I doubt it, Motomiya-san.” Just then the figure vanishes in a swirl of leaves causing Veemon and Davis to gasp in shock.

Veemon asks, stunned, “How did he do that?”
Davis says, shaking his head, “You’re asking me! It was like he was some kind of freaky ninja or something…” Davis says, seriously, “Hold up!”

Veemon asks Davis, “What is it, Davis?”

Davis tells Veemon, “Veemon, we need to get to the Digital World and Gennai immediately. Let’s go!” Without hesitation, Davis and Veemon started to run as fast as they can to the portion of the city known as Tops where they are starting in Neo Domino City.

(On the meanwhile; Back within the Leaf Village)

In the Leaf Village, we find ourselves with Ryu as he faces down a Dark Signer Shadow Drone, a person under the control of the Dark Signers, in a deadly Shadow Duel in which Ryu prepares to make the first move.”

Ryu says, putting one card on his duel disk, “I play Shield Warrior in defense mode!” Just then Shield Warrior (800/1600) appears on the field in defense mode and Ryu says, putting three cards into the spell/trap slots, “I play three cards face-down and end my turn!”

Shadow Drone says, drawing a card, “It’s my turn, Signer!” Shadow Drone says, putting one card on her duel disk, “I play my Fortune Lady Light in attack mode!” Immediately, Fortune Lady Light (200/200) appears on the field in attack mode.

Ayane thinks in her mind, “Those are the cards that Aunt Carly used when she was a Dark Signer! I heard about this from Uncle Jack!”

Shadow Drone says, putting one card into the spell/trap slots, “I end my turn with a face-down!”

Ryu thinks in his mind, “If this Shadow Clone is using cards that Aunt Carly used as a Dark Signers…” Ryu says, drawing a card, “It’s my move!” Ryu looks at the card and he says, putting one card into the spell/trap slots, “I activate Foolish Burial! Allowing me to send one card from my deck to my graveyard!” A card comes out of Ryu’s deck, he puts into the graveyard slot, and he says, putting one card on his duel disk, “Next, I play my Junk Synchron in attack mode!” Immediately, Junk Synchron (1300/500) appears on the field in attack mode in which Ryu says, “And then I use his ability to play one monster from grave in defense mode as long as it is level two or below! And I choose the one that I put into the grave with my spell card: Speed Warrior!” Then Speed Warrior (900/400) appears on the field in defense mode. Ryu yells out, “And now, I tune my Junk Synchron, Shield Warrior, and Speed Warrior together, Drone!” Junk Synchron pulls the card on his back causing him to turn into three stars that turn into three rings that surround Shield Warrior and Speed Warrior making them goes transparent. Ryu takes out a Synchro Monster card from his Extra deck and he yells out, “Clustering hopes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon!” As a column of light appears on the field, Ryu puts the Synchro Monster card on his duel disk and he calls out, “Let’s rev it up, Stardust Dragon!” Out of the light, Stardust Dragon (2500/2000) appears on the field in attack mode. Ryu yells out, strongly, “Stardust Dragon, attack her Fortune Lady Light with Cosmic Flare!” Stardust Dragon unleashes a blast of cosmic energy right Fortune Lady Light.

Shadow Drone says, pushing a button on her duel disk, “I activate my trap: Slip of Fortune!” Shadow Drone’s face-down card is revealed to be the Slip of Fortune trap card and she yells out, “My trap card removed my light from play and negates your attack!” Fortune Lady Light vanishes from the field in which Stardust Dragon’s attack. Shadow Drone says, putting a card on her duel disk from her deck, “And due to my Light’s ability, I can play my Fortune Lady Fire from my deck!” Fortune Lady Fire (400/400) then appears on the field in a twister of fire. Shadow Drone says, slyly, “And now, my Fire will destroy one monster on the field and you take damage equal to your monster’s attack points!”

But as Fortune Lady Fire unleashes her flame attack, Ryu yells out, “My Stardust Dragon’s special ability will negate your monster’s ability and destroy it! Go, Victim Sanctuary!” Stardust Dragon turns into stardust that negates Lady Fire’s flames and destroys her as well. Ryu says, pushing a button on her duel disk, “Next, I play my Cosmic Blast!” When Ryu’s face-down card is revealed to be Cosmic Blast trap card and Ryu calls out, “Due to this card, when a Dragon Synchro Monster leaves the field, you take damage equal to its attack points!” An image of Stardust Dragon appears on the field and unleashes blast of energy in which the Shadow Drone yelps out in pain as she is hit by this energy as she loses 2500 life-points.

Shadow Drone says, with a snarl, “This isn’t over!”

Ryu says, pushing another button on his duel disk, “It is when I play my Stardust Flash trap card!” Ryu’s final face-down card is revealed to be the Stardust Flash trap card and Ryu says, with a smile, “Since Stardust Dragon used his ability, I can bring him back right now!” Immediately, Stardust Dragon (2500/2000) reappears on the field in attack mode.

Ayane yells out, excitedly, “All right, bro!”

Ryu yells out, “Stardust Dragon, end this duel right now!” Stardust Dragon unleashes another blast of cosmic energy and the Shadow Drone yells out in extreme pain as it strikes home sending her to the ground, hard, as she loses another 2500 life-points, ending the duel.

Final Score:
Ryu: 4000
Shadow Drone: 0

With the end of the duel, the ring of flames collapsed in which Ayane rushes over to her brother in which a group of ANBU arrived.

One of them, having a crow mask, asks, “Signer-sama, we saw the ring of flames! What…?!” Just then they heard a moan in which they see the Shadow Drone move her head causing her hood to fall off showing the face of a woman with violet hair down in a short, spiky ponytail and brown pupiless eyes which are seen as she is blinking.

Another ANBU says, shocked, “That’s Anko-san!”

Ayane asks, curiously, “Who?”

The crow masked ANBU replies, “Lady Signer, her name is Anko Mitarashi, a Special Jonin that’s the member of the Torture and Interrogation Squad of which she exceeds that even we tend to be… nervous around her. But I don’t get why…?!” Just then a spider leaps out of her neck and fizzles into a bit of darkness.

Another ANBU says, curiously, “What was that? That didn’t look like any natural spider.”

Ryu says, with a plain tone, “That wasn’t a natural spider. It is a creature created by the Dark Signers, specifically the one with the mark of the spider to control people.”

Ninja Ryu says, with a plain tone, “We believe that Anko-san was under the control of the Dark Signers.”

There are plenty of gasps and the crow masked ANBU replies, “Dark Signers? The mortal energy of the Signers?”

Ayane says, with a nod, “That’s right, sir. But there is nothing ‘mortal’ about them.”

Ninja Ryu says, with a nod, “Indeed, Ayane. The Dark Signers are the chosen ones of the Earthbound Immortal of which they are those that died and have been brought back by the Earthbound Immortals to serve as their avatars.”

The crow masked ANBU asks, “Anko-san, are you okay?”

The woman, known as Anko, groans and replies, “Don’t damn well yell so loud! I’m not deaf!” Anko gets to her feet and she asks, when she wakes up, “What’s going on here, Crow? What I am doing here? And what I am doing in this stupid outfit?!” Anko then rips the cloak into tiny piece with an angered look on her face that shocks and surprise of our two young Signers. Anko yells out, annoyed, “Somebody better tell me what the heck is going on here or I swear…!!”

Ayane says, nervously, “You were under the control of the Dark Signers, Anko-san?”

Anko gives a surprised look and Crow, the ANBU with the crow-like mask, replies, with a nod, “Lady Signer is right, Anko-san. It looks like the Dark Signers, the enemy of the Signers and avatars of the evil Earthbound Immortals, were controlling you through a strange spider-like creature.”

Anko says, surprised, “Wait a minute! I remember now! Some weird spider came and bit me on the neck and then everything went blank!” Anko then yells out, angered, “I was being used like some kind of meat puppet?! When I get my hands on the person that did this, I’ll make them wish that they were dead!”

Ayane says, nervously, “Dark Signers are dead people brought back to life, Anko-san, through mysterious dark powers.”

Anko yells out, with a sadistic smile, “Oh, really? Then I’ll make sure that they wish they stayed in their graves before I’m done with them!” Ryu and Ayane get nervous with Anko’s unnerving smile.

Crow tells Anko, “Anko-san, aren’t you supposed to be the proctor for the second exam?”

Anko says, with a serious tone, “Shit, Crow! You’re right! Later, gators!” Soon enough, Anko leaps off into the distance leaving behind a nervous Fudo twins.

Ayane says, “She’s scary.”

Ryu says, with a nod, “I agree, sis.”

Crow tells the two Fudo twins, “Anko-san can be quite… eccentric, Signer-sama.”

Ninja Ryu tells Crow, “I think that it is best that we take these two to Hokage-sama and report what just happened.”

Crow says, with a nod, “Wise idea, Hayabusa-sama. Follow us.” Soon enough, with the ANBU escorting, our group head off to the Third Hokage and tell him about what just happened.

(Joining up with Naruto; on the meanwhile)

Back with Team 7, we find them looking at massive group of all kinds of ninja wearing many different types of headbands right in front of them and they are shocked at them all.

Sakura, shocked at the sight of so many of them and their glares seem to pierce her, thinks in her mind, “If looking scary was part of the test, they would have me beat!”

As Naruto looks around, he then feels his arm feeling better and looks to see the glow from his ‘Mark of the Dragon’ fade away in which he thinks, “My ‘dragon mark’ has calmed down, but I can’t be sure that’s a good thing through I’m getting the feeling that Ryu is all right.”

Just then a female voice calls out, “Sasuke-kun, where have you been?” Just then everyone looks to see Ino tackle Sasuke in the back much to his annoyance. Ino says, slyly, “Boy, I was hoping that you would show up here. I’ve missed those broody good looks of yours.”

Sakura yells out, annoyed, “Hey, you porker! What do you think that you are doing? He’s mine!”

Ino replies, slyly, “Miss Forehead, they let you in? Still have those billboard brows I see.”

Sakura calls out, annoyed, “Leave my forehead out of it!”

Ino pulls down one of her eyelids, sticks out her tongue out at Sakura, and then a male voice calls out, “Oh, it’s you guys. I thought that this was going to be a drag, but not this lame.” Soon enough, Choji and Shikamaru walk to be seen.

Naruto replies, with a sigh, “So, all three stooges are here, huh?”

Shikamaru yells out, annoyed, “Hey, you know what pipsqueak… Ah, forget it! It would be a waste of time!”

Ino says, with a nasty tone, “Sorry, but Sasuke-kun is mine.”

Just then another male voice calls out, “Well, what do we have here? It looks like the whole gang is back together again.”

Immediately, Shino, Hinata, and Kiba come out and Hinata says, greeting Naruto, “Hi, Naruto-kun.”
Naruto says, with a smile, “Hi, Hinata-chan! I see that you made it too.” Naruto then gains a nervous look and points to his right arm in which Hinata gives a curious quirk, but then quickly understands as she puts her hand on her right arm in which she nods too. Naruto thinks in his mind, “So, Hinata-chan got the same ‘message’ as I did, huh? Better ask her if she got the same ‘feeling’ that I got earlier.” Shino notices this ‘exchange’ between Naruto and Hinata as well as Hinata, but while Kiba gives a curious glance, Shino remains stoic, but deep down, he may already know what Naruto was implying to Hinata earlier.

Shikamaru says, “So, you made it too? Man, everyone is here for this stupid thing!”

Kiba says, slyly, “Here we all are! The nine Rookies!” Kiba tells Sasuke, “This is going to be fun, at least those of us good enough to make the cut! Right, Sasuke?”

Sasuke replies, with a smirk, “Kiba, careful you don’t get overconfident.”

Kiba replies, slyly, “We’re going to blow you away. We’ve been training like mad.”

Naruto says, with a smirk, “What do you think that we’ve been doing, Kiba? With Kakashi-sensei’s and Hayabusa-sensei’s training, I’ve gaining levels of strength and skill like mad! I’ve got a whole new bag of tricks!”

Kiba tells Naruto, with a smirk, “Really, Naruto? You might be the son of one of our greatest Hokage and a legendary kunoichi of our village, but doesn’t mean you are anything like them.”

Naruto says, with a smile, “Who said that I was? You might be surprised that I’m already just as good as my dad and mom when they first became Chunin, Kiba!”

Kiba says, with a snort, “Oh, please!”

Choji thinks in his mind, “Akamaru is looking plumper and juicer…” As Choji goes over towards Akamaru, who is sitting on top of Kiba’s head, Shino steps in-between them. Choji asks, a bit annoyed, “What’s your problem? What’s wrong?” When Shino looks down, Choji does too and they see a bug crawling by them.

Shino says, plainly, “Thought you didn’t see it. Didn’t want you stepping on it.”

Choji asks, “Why? Are you saving it for lunch?”

Just then a male voice calls out, “Hey, you guys!” Everyone looks to see a young man with grey hair tied in a ponytail, black eyes with glasses in front, and wearing a dark purple shirt, dark purple pants, white obi around his waist, and typical dark blue open-toed ninja sandals coming towards them. The young man tells them, “You might want to keep it down! I mean, no offense, you are the nine rookies right? Fresh out of the academy. I wouldn’t go making a spectacle out of yourselves. Just cool it! This isn’t a class field trip!”

Ino yells out, annoyed, “Well, who asked you? Who are you?”

The male replies, “I’m Kabuto Yakushi. But really, look around you, everyone. You’ve made quite an impression.” Everyone looks to see that many, if not, all of the other Genin in the room are glaring at them in which when they look at ninja with headbands that have four straight lines on the metal bands, Kabuto tells our nine rookie ninja, “See those guys? They are from the Hidden Rain Village and they are very touché. But then again, everyone is. These exams made everyone tense and you don’t want to rub them the wrong way right now.”

Naruto thinks in his mind, “I’ve seen Zabuza give worse killer intent than that!”

Kabuto says, with a smile, “You can’t help it. How could you know how things work around here? You remind me of myself awhile back.”

Sakura asks Kabuto, “Kabuto, huh? Is this the first time that you taken the exam?”

Kabuto replies, nervously, “No, it is my seventh.” There are looks of surprise from the nine ‘rookies’ and Kabuto says, “They are held twice a year and so, this will be my fourth year.”

Sakura says, amazed, “Wow, a veteran. You must be an expert by now.”

Kabuto says, with a plain tone, “Yeah, sort of.”

Shikamaru says, “Some expert. He has never passed.”

Kabuto asks, nervously, “Well, seventh times the charm, right?”

Shikamaru says, “So, all of those nasty rumors that we heard are true, huh? What a drag.”

Kabuto takes out a set of orange cards and he says, slyly, “Hold on, don’t lose hope just yet. Maybe I can give you some help with my ninja info cards.”

Sakura asks, “What the heck are those, Kabuto?”

Kabuto replies, “It is hard to explain. These cards are chakra encodes with all of the information that I have gathered in the past four years. So, I haven’t been really wasting my time. At first, these cards don’t seem much to the naked eye and in fact, they seem blank. Don’t want just anyone to see them.” Kabuto then takes a seemly blank card, spins around on his finger, and pours chakra into it.

Sakura asks, confused, “What are you doing Kabuto?”

Kabuto replies, “I’m pouring my chakra to reveal the secrets inside.” Just then a map of the Elemental Countries with holographic figures appears on the card.

Sakura asks, amazed, “Cool, a map! What of?”

Kabuto says, with a plain tone, “This is a geographic disposition of all of the candidates coming to this exam. What villages they come and in what numbers from each village.” Kabuto asks, “Why do you think that they come to the same place to take the Chunin Exam?”

Naruto thinks in his mind, “That’s a sixty-five million yen question!”

Kabuto replies, “To foster international friendship and brotherhood… to a point.”

Sasuke says, plainly, “But there is another side to this.”

Kabuto replies, with a nod, “Right on. You see, they can regulate the number of ninja that end up in each village and maintain the balance of power.”

Shikamaru says, “Balance of power… it is still just a drag.”

Kabuto says, “If one village gets more ninja than its neighbor, it might be tempted to attack and start another war. So, in order to prevent that, they maintain the status quo. It makes sense… I suppose.”

Sasuke asks, plainly, “Do these cards have information on the other candidates individually?”

Kabuto asks, slyly, “They might. You have some special in mind?”

Sasuke replies, with a glare, “I might.”

Kabuto says, “I can’t promise that my information is complete or accurate, but I’ve got something on just about everyone even you guys. So, tell me anything about them.”

Sasuke replies, “They are Gaara of the Desert and Rock Lee of the Leaf Village.”

Kiba then says, speaking up, “And what about this baka: Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze.” There are plenty of surprised looks from the room in which they overheard the name including from Kiba’s fellow ‘rookies’.

Naruto thinks in his mind, annoyed, “What’s Kiba up to this time?”

Kiba thinks in his mind, slyly, “Let’s see if Naruto’s boasting is all that which I greatly doubt!”

Kabuto says, with a smirk, “That’s no fun! You know their names and that’s all too easy!” Kabuto takes out three cards and he says, with a smirk, “Here they are.”

Sasuke says, his tone sounding commanding, “Show them to me.”

Kabuto puts the cards on the ground and he says, “Here is Rock Lee.”
Naruto thinks in his mind, “Sasuke-teme must be still fuming from his defeat by Bushy Brows. The teme should have known better and I would have been knocked down to the ground if it wasn’t for Hayabusa-sensei’s training, believe it.” FYI: Just before they entered the room, Rock Lee challenged Sasuke to a fight in which Naruto tried to ‘step in’, but Rock Lee tried a quick sweeping move in which Naruto barley dodges with Ninja Ryu’s ‘Flying Peacock’ leap which surprised even Lee. However, Naruto gracefully bowed down knowing that Sasuke was going to get beaten to a pulp in which he would have if Lee’s teacher, Mighty Gai, didn’t stop the fight.

When Kabuto displays Rock Lee’s status, he says, “Rock Lee, he is about one year older than you. He has twenty D-rank and eleven C-rank missions. His Jonin sense is Might Gai. Over the past year, his Taijutsu has radically improved, but his other skills are shaky. Last year, he got a lot of attention as a Genin, but he refused to participate in the exam. This will be his first time in the exam, same as you. His teammates are Tenten and Neji Hyuga.” Hinata winches from Neji’s name and Naruto knows why.

Kabuto puts chakra into the second card and he says, “And this is Gaara of the Desert.” When the stats on Gaara appears, Kabuto says, “Gaara of the Desert. Mission experience: Eight C-ranks and get this, one B-rank mission. There isn’t much else known about him, but there is this rumor: He survived every mission without a scratch on him.”

Shikamaru yells out, “The dude has taken a B-rank as Genin and come out without a scratch!”

Naruto thinks in his mind, “I’m not surprised! From my experience, people like Gaara and me have gained powerful abilities due to our ‘tenants’ more like freeloaders!”

Kyuubi yells out, annoyed, “I heard that brat!”

Sasuke thinks in his mind, “So, this Gaara is like Naruto. He must have one of these ‘monsters’ inside of him.”

Kabuto says, pushing chakra into the last card, “And last, but not least, the new rising star of the Leaf Village or what the rumors tell me.” When the stats on Naruto himself appear on the card, Kabuto says, “Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, son of Minato Namikaze, Fourth Hokage and legendary ‘Yellow Flash’ of the Leaf Village and Kushina Uzumaki, one of the last of the Uzumaki clan, the legendary ‘clan of vitality’. His teammates are Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha of the Uchiha clan. He has 13 D-rank missions and two A-rank missions under his belt. The second one was originally a C-rank mission to Wave, but turned into an A-rank when the truth of the details of it was heard. The first one was before he even got into a Genin team in which a traitorous Chunin from the Academy tried to trick him to steal the Forbidden Scroll, but with some minor aid from Iruka Umino, Naruto, here, defeated Mizuki, the traitor, single handedly.”

There are plenty of gasps and Ino yells out, “I wondered why Mizuki-sensei wasn’t in when we were assigned!”

Shino says, plainly, “I thought that there was something off about Mizuki-sensei.”

Kabuto says, plainly, “And from what I’ve heard about you, it was during your ‘weakest point’ in terms of skills. Right now, from what I heard, your skills are WAY stronger than before. Also, you are holder of the Rinnegan, a legendary dojutsu that said to have given ‘birth’ to the Sharingan and Byakugan, the dojutsu bloodlines of the Uchiha and Hyuga, giving you control over gravity itself and all of the elemental chakras for one thing. Your Genjutsu is very shaky, but your Taijutsu and Ninjutsu have gone up significantly since your Academy days. But then again, you are getting training from Kakashi of the Sharingan, one of our greatest Jonin, and Ryu Hayabusa of the Hayabusa or Dragon Clan, who despite being outside of the Elemental Nations themselves, are one of the most respected ninja clans in our world. Rumor has it that you are also getting weapon’s training from him as well.”

Naruto replies, plainly, “So, what if I am?” Sakura and Sasuke see that Naruto’s eyes hold plenty of seriousness that isn’t like him usually and they wonder what is going on.

Kabuto says, plainly, “However, I think that you should watch your back especially my friend. Rumor has it that despite efforts by the Hokage to keep your heritage a secret that’s known only by the Fire Daimyo and the Leaf Village, the other great ninja nations, Wave, Cloud, Sand, and Stone, including many others know about your heritage by now. They say it was leaked by people that didn’t exactly liked what happened after your heritage was revealed.”

Sakura asks, curiously, “What do you mean Kabuto?”

Kabuto says, plainly, “I can’t be sure, but I heard that after the Fire Daimyo came to visit and find out about what happened, the civilian council lost a significant part of their power and they blame our young Namikaze for it.”

Naruto says, with a snort, “What don’t they blame me for? They got what they deserved and they are sore that I exposed them for the jerks they are. And allowing Old Man Hokage to take them down a peg or two. Believe it, Kabuto.”

Kabuto says, “All of those that sent ninja here are very exceptional and those from the Sound Village are a mystery. They are quite small and they have recently sprung up so no one knows about them.” Kabuto says, with a smile, “You get the idea. The competition is going to be intense this year.”

Hinata says, shyly, “So, it would seem. It makes one lose their confident.”

Ino says, annoyed, “It’s a fine time to talk like that!”

Sakura asks, curiously, “Do you really think that it is going to be tougher this time?”

Kabuto replies, with a smile, “Oh, yeah, especially with Stone, who said that they wouldn’t bring any candidates to the Chunin Exams when it was Leaf’s turn to host them, and Cloud Village, who has brought some powerful teams with some powerful teachers to go with it. In the four years that I’ve been coming, I’ve never seen a crop of candidates with the potential as this bunch.”

Naruto thinks in his mind, with a sly tone, “Just a whole a lot more reason to show these jerks that like my dad and mom, I won’t let anything or anyone get in the way of my goals!” Naruto thinks in his mind, with a sly tone, “Maybe I’ll give them a scare!” Just then Naruto let’s recently enhanced chakra flow free surprising everyone and he thinks, “Ever since I sealed the fox’s full power inside of me and my Red Nova Dragon, my chakra got a major boost through it was a pain in the neck to get my chakra control back!”

Shikamaru thinks in his mind, stunned, “Whoa! That’s some strong chakra Naruto has got there!”

Naruto turns to the ground of ninja, who are surprised and a bit worried about Naruto’s strong chakra, in which he yells out, strongly, “What are you jokers looking at?! I’m getting sick and tried of those ‘I’m going to kill you glares’ because I’ve seen them before and let me tell you, I’m not impressed! If you know who am I, then you should know who my parents are! And you, Stone Freaks, get this message through your heads: Get over it! My dad did what he had to protect his village! And if you can’t get over that, then you are more dumb and weak than I thought! But if you want to settle the score, fine, but leave others out of it! But remember this, jerks, you don’t know if I have my dad’s legendary jutsu to bust out and do what he did to your village during the last war!” Naruto says, with a foxy smile, “Or what else I’m capable of, believe it!” Naruto then unleashes a burst of chakra that cracks the floor around him slightly that makes plenty of other candidates to become somewhat unnerved, especially the Stone Village ninja, through they don’t dare to show even a bit of it.

Within the group of candidates, the three Sand Village ninja, including Gaara, are looking and Kankuro tells his teammates, with a plain tone, “So, he is the brat of the Fourth Hokage, huh? Can’t wait to pay him back for that punch.”

Temari says, with a smirk, “I’ve got to admit that he yips like a dog, but he has got one impressive chakra. And Kankuro, please, if he could do that to you, do you think that in a battle, you can beat him. If he has got any of his parents’ talent in him, you are going to be in major trouble and it looks like he has a bit of talent to throw you around.”

With Tenten and her group, Tenten says, with a sigh, “I can see that Naruto-sama isn’t too humble.”

Lee says, plainly, “He has passion all right. I think that he truly is the son of two of our village’s legendary ninja other than the Sannin.”

Neji says, plainly, “It looks like that you didn’t intimated him in the least, Lee.” Neji thinks in his mind, “But if he thinks that he can intimate me with that kind of empty threat, he is sadly mistaken. Son of a Hokage or not, he can’t deny fate.”

In the group, the three Sound Ninja, who were watching the encounter between Team 7 and Gaara’s team from the Sand, look on and the male with black spiky hair says, “The kid really likes to run his mouth.”

The one with bandages says, “He might have a powerful chakra, but it doesn’t mean that he is a really good ninja.”

The female says, “I say that we teach that being a ninja isn’t just because how much chakra you have, it is about skill.”

Sakura slams her fist into Naruto’s head and she yells out, “Naruto, you baka! Are you trying to put a target on your back?”

Naruto replies, with a shrug, “Come on, Sakura-chan, it isn’t like they don’t know who I am anyway. And besides, those Stone bakas really need to get those rods out of their ass and let go what happened between them and my dad during the last war!” Sakura sweatdrops and she shakes her head in which Naruto senses something in which he looks to see the spiky black haired Sound ninja attacking Kabuto with kunai. Kabuto manages to dodge in which the one with bandages attacks him with a punch in which Kabuto seemly dodges.

Sasuke thinks in his mind, “He is almost as fast as I am.”

But then Kabuto’s glasses shatter and fall apart in which he says, slyly, “So, it is that type of attack.”

Sasuke says, seriously, “Hold up! He dodged that attack!”

Shikamaru says, plainly, “It must have been closer than you thought. And look at him, taking it as if it was nothing. Real tough guy.” After Kabuto changes glasses, he then yelps as he collapses to his knees and throws up.

Sakura goes over and she asks Kabuto, “Are you okay, Kabuto?”

Kabuto says, weakly, “I’m… fine.”

The bandaged Sound ninja says, “I guess that he isn’t such a tough guy after all.”

The spiky haired Sound ninja says, with a smirk, “Write this on your card. The Genin from the Sound Village will be Chunin by the time this is over.”

Sasuke thinks in his mind, “He easily dodged that attack. What made him fall apart?”

With Team Gai, as Tenten, Neji, and Lee are called, Neji asks Lee, “Hey, Lee, what was with that attack?”

Lee says, with a plain tone, “It was more than speed. Some kind of trick.” Just then a loud ‘boom’ is heard and everyone looks to see a lot of smoking coming from the front of the room.

Just then a rough male voice calls out, “All right, you baby-faced degenerates, listen up!” Out of the smoke, a Leaf headband that’s a bandana covering his scalp, scars on his face, grey clothing under a large black jacket, and black gloves with black open-toed sandals with a group of grey-clad Lead ninja including Izumo, Kotetsu, and Haku were assembled around and behind this man.

Naruto thinks in his mind, “Haku?”

The man says, “My name is Ibiki Morino, the proctor for this part of the exam and as of right now, your worst enemy.” He then yells out, pointing towards the Sound ninja, “First off, you candidates from the Sound, knock if off! Who said that you could attack? You want to be failed before we have even begun!”

The bandaged one says, plainly, “Sorry, sir, we are jumpy for our first time.”

Ibiki smirks and then he says, giving a deadly serious tone, “I will say this only one! There will be no attacking during this time unless ordered by your proctor and even then, no use of lethal force is authorized! Anyone who dares to mess with will get throw out immediately!”

The spiky haired Sound ninja says, slyly, “No lethal force. That’s no fun.”

Ibiki says, plainly, “Now, we will begin the first part of the exam. Hand in your paperwork and you’ll be given a number. This will determine where you’ll sit for the exam. We’ll start the written test when you are seated.”

Naruto says, weakly, “The what?” Naruto thinks in his mind, in a panic, “Oh no! I stink at written tests!”

Haku looks at Naruto and she thinks, with a sigh, “I hope that Naruto-sama is ready, but I hear that written tests are not his ‘cup of tea’. Good luck, Naruto, you are going to need it.”

(In another world; on the meanwhile)

Inside of a deep forest, we find Davis and Veemon looking around for any signs of something or in this case, someone.

Veemon asks Davis, “Davis, how will we know how to find Gennai?”

Davis says, with a shrug, “I don’t know, Veemon.”

Just then a male voice calls out, “How about right here, Davis?” Davis and Veemon yelp as they turn to see a man that looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon right in front of them.

Davis yells out, annoyed, “Don’t do that!”

Gennai says, with a smile, “Sorry about that Davis.”

Veemon tells Gennai, “Davis, we have trouble!”

Gennai tells Veemon, “I already know. Tai and Kari have been kidnapped. I heard it from the others.”

Davis asks, curiously, “How did they know?”

Gennai says, with a plain tone, “When Tai’s and Kari’s parents have been ‘brainwashed’, they didn’t know about Tai’s and Kari’s plans on that day and how the others would know that they changed it.”

Davis says, with a plain tone, “Well, they want me to follow them with nobody other than Veemon with me.” Davis then shows Gennai his D-Terminal and the message inside in which Gennai nods his head.

Gennai tells Davis, “I see, Davis.”

Davis asks Gennai, “Let me guess, Gennai, you already know about my past.”

Gennai tells Davis, “Davis, even through you have got a heritage there, you can’t go alone. We are not sure what they want from you.”

Davis tells Gennai, with a plain tone, “Doesn’t matter, Gennai. I can’t use Imperialdramon since they’ll know that Ken will be with me, so, I need a way to get there yesterday.”

Gennai tells Davis, “This is not a wise idea.”

Davis replies, with a plain tone, “Didn’t say that it was, Gennai. Now, do you have a plan for me or not?”

Gennai says, with a sigh, “Fine, Davis. I do have a way to get to the Elemental Countries for you even through they don’t have the digital technology like the rest of the world does.”

Davis tells Gennai, “Good, Gennai. Just try not to tell the others where I’m going. This isn’t their problem.”

Gennai tells Davis, “Davis, I know about your problems, but you know that you are stronger together as a team rather than apart.”

Davis says, with a plain tone, “In my mind, they used me and other than Ken and surprising TC threw me out.”

Gennai tells Davis, with a sigh, “Let us prepare for what we need to do, Davis.” Davis nods his head in which he and Veemon follow Gennai, but Veemon looks at Davis with worry.

Veemon thinks in his mind, “I hope Davis will be okay.”

(Back in the Leaf Village; around the same time)

Within the Leaf Village, we find none other than Yami Marik with a Leaf Chunin who has a blank expression on his face and the Millennium Symbol glowing on his forehead, to show that he was under control of Yami Marik’s Millennium Rod.

Yami Marik says, with a plain tone, “So, slave, you will tell me all that you know about your home?”

The enslaved Leaf Chunin replies, in a monotone voice, “Yes, Marik-sama…”

Yami Marik says, with an evil smile, “Good, slave.” Yami Marik says, with an evil smile, “Soon, Pharaoh, if you can hear me from the afterlife, I shall rule this world as the new Pharaoh and since you are in the afterlife, there is nothing that you can do the stop me.”

(Joining up with the Hokage; Sometime later)

With the Third Hokage, we find the Fudo twins, Ninja Ryu, Leon, and Kalin assembled together as they explain to what happened just sometime ago.

When they were done, Third Hokage says, taking out of his pipe, “This is indeed disturbing news, my young friends.”

Leon asks Kalin, “Is this exactly the thing that happened during your time as a Dark Signer?”

Kalin replies, with a nod, “Unlike the others, I do have some memories of my time as a Dark Signer and from my memories, I know that’s the power of the Dark Signer of Spider. He uses small spiders, born from his dark mark, to control others and he had the ability to control massive numbers of people. I’m not sure of that power’s limit.”

Ninja Ryu says, with a plain tone, “We are going to have to assume that he can control anyone other than the Signers themselves.”

Ayane asks, perplexed, “But what can we do? We can’t stomp out every spider in order to make sure that they are not going to put someone under mind-control. Can we?”

Third Hokage says, shaking his head, “I don’t think so, young Ayane. However, I believe from Kalin’s knowledge that most likely, this is a test.”

Kalin says, with a nod, “Ryu was just being tested just like his father, Yusei, was by Roman. However, the next person that we ‘tested’ was Jack and if this pattern holds true.”

Ryu says, seriously, “Then Naruto is the next target.”

Leon says, solemnly, “That’s not good.”

Third Hokage says, with a sigh, “However, we can’t stop the Chunin Exams just because of this and I fear that Anko destroyed the evidence other than the Duel Disk and dueling deck she did manage to leave behind.”

Ayane asks, perplexed, “How did she get those anyway?”

Ninja Ryu says, with a plain tone, “Most likely, the Dark Signers that are here now must have given it to her which means that they know how to infiltrate the village.”

Third Hokage says, with a nod, “I fear what you say is true, but all I can do for now is increase security. Hayabusa-sama, you know as well as I do what the Chunin Exams means to the continued peace of our world, fragile as it is.”

Ninja Ryu says, with a nod, “I know, Hokage-sama.”

Kalin says, with a plain tone, “And they are using this time to attack which means at least one of these new Dark Signers must be a ninja too.”

Ryu asks Kalin, “You mean like Naruto and Hinata are ninjas and Signers?”

Kalin says, with a nod, “That’s correct, Ryu.”

Third Hokage says, with a plain tone, “For security reasons, I feel that it is best that two of you stay with me until after the second part of the exam is over.”

Ryu says, with a nod, “Okay, sir.”

Ayane asks Third Hokage, “Can you tell how Naruto is doing, sir?”

Third Hokage says, with a sigh, “Not really, my dear. However, I’m sure that he is just fine.”

(Returning to the first exam; A short time soon after)

However, Naruto was far from fine as he was freaking out about what to do on this first part of the test. This written exam has just started after Ibiki gave some ground rules about how this test was done.

Naruto thinks in his mind, in a panic, “What do I do? What do I do? This is so hopeless! I can’t even understand any of these questions at all! And I can’t cheat or I’ll get thrown out on my butt!”

Just then a deep male voice tells Naruto, “Don’t be so sure, Naruto.” Naruto gives a gasp in surprise and the image of monster known as Tenkabito Shien (1500/1000) appears in his mind, Tenkabito tells Naruto, “Naruto, don’t you think that it is weird that you are only given two points off every time that you are caught cheating? What would happen if you are usually caught cheating?”

Naruto replies, “I get my test taken away and I’m done.”

Just then Naruto gets the idea and Tenkabito tells Naruto, “You are starting to get it, Naruto. There is more to this test than meets the eye and from I see, this test is hard for nearly everyone. These questions aren’t usually answered by normal Genin that have been trained in the Academy. They are too complex and advanced. Plus, what about these people looking out for teams cheating and what not?”

Naruto asks, curiously, “Do you have a point, old man?”

Tenkabito sighs and asks Naruto, “What do ninja usually do?”

Naruto gives a curious quirk and he replies, “We do missions given to us by the Hokage. These mission are escorting, killing people, and… gathering info on our enemies!” Naruto then asks, curiously, “Hold up! Are you saying that the whole point of this test is to cheat?!”

Tenkabito tells Naruto, “And not get caught, Naruto. That’s the point of gathering information on your enemy and that enemy is watching for you to make a mistake which could cost you. Most likely, this sneaky proctor of yours already snuck in people that already know the answers to these questions, but people like your female teammate, Sakura Haruno, could figure out these questions with her book smarts.”

Naruto replies, annoyed, “Just great, old man. But where does that leave me?! I don’t have any tricks to cheat and get caught! I may know what this darn test is all about, but that doesn’t help me since I don’t know how to cheat and not get caught! What am I supposed to do now?!” As Naruto tries to figure out how to cheat and not get caught with the skills that he already has, other ninja in the room are usually their skills in different ways to copy off of their fellow examinees. Naruto looks towards Hinata with his eyes and he thinks, “Maybe I can figure out a way to get Hinata to allow me to copy.” But soon a kunai lands near them and a ninja sitting behind him was told that he and his team have failed in which another team, this one from Sand, was failed in which when one protested, he got a nasty elbow into his neck. Naruto thinks in his mind, “Too close! That won’t work at all! These guys are good and I mean really good! I may have avoid morons during my days in the Academy and pranking everyone, but this is so different! My only hope is that final question! I may know the point of this whole test is to cheat and not get caught, but I don’t have the right set of skills for this! This really stinks! Believe it!” Naruto continues to be nervous until the final question of the test, which was not given on the paper, and stated by Ibiki which won’t be given until the last minutes of the tests is given out. However, when Ibiki gives out the rules, the rules make it that either you don’t do the question and you automatically fail and if you do the question and don’t get it, you don’t get a chance to come back to the Chunin Exams ever again. Plenty of the students decide to leave and taking their teammates with them. Naruto yells out, gaining a smirk, “Hey, pal! Is that supposed to scare me?! I’m not like those that just chickened out! One day, I’m going to be Hokage and I’m not just going to leave because of one little question! If you didn’t know, my mom and dad were legendary ninja with my dad was once the Fourth Hokage himself! And I’m his son! I’m going to be better than my old man one day and I’m sure that he and my mom would never forgive, in whatever afterlife they are in, if I just quit now! So, shut up, stop with the scare tactics, and bring it on!”

When no one else leaves after Naruto’s ‘speech’, Ibiki says, with a sly grin, “If that’s your choice then… Congratulations, you have passed the first part of the Chunin Exam!”

There are gasps of shock and Sakura yells out, “Hold on, what about the final question?”

Ibiki replies, slyly, “To be blunt, there was no tenth question! Well, actually, there was no written one! The choice for you to stay was the tenth question in fact!”

Temari yells out, “Hold on! So, the other nine questions were just a waste of time?!”

Ibiki says, slyly, “Oh no! Those first nine questions had an overriding consideration! They were to test your ability to gather information secretly under the most difficult circumstances.”

Naruto says, with a wide grin, “He means to show if we can do well in gathering info on our enemies like we do in wars!”

Plenty of the remaining examinees give surprised looks and Ibiki replies, slyly, “That’s partially right, kid! But I also wanted to test you not only as individuals, but also as a team and how well you function as a part of that team. That’s why I graded you on a team bases.” Ibiki says, with a sly tone, “And like I said, the kid was right that a part of this test about gathering information like we do against our enemies in war!”

Naruto asks, with a smirk, “And you made this test super-hard, even for smart guys and gals, to take this test and you made it the point to cheat and not get caught, right?”

Ibiki says, with a smirk, “Well, don’t we have a little genius? That’s right! The test was made to encourage you to cheat and as a matter of fact, it nearly demanded it! However, it did little good if you didn’t have anyone to cheat from and so, I disguised two Chunin as Genin who already knew the answers and put them in with you!”

Naruto thinks in his mind, with a snort, “A lot of good that it did me since I didn’t have skills to cheat with!”

Kyuubi then says, slyly, “Your Rinnegan could have helped with that brat! But I had hoped that you didn’t figure it out!”

Naruto tells Kyuubi, annoyed, “You are really pissing me off! When I get back in there, I’m going to make you be put down real good! And don’t talk tough since the Crimson Dragon and I drained you dry!”

Ibiki then explains about risking your life with gathering intelligence in which he shows that under his bandana, his head is bald with tons of burns and scars in which Sasuke thinks, seriously, “Unbelievable! His head is full of scars and burns! He must have endured tons of torture!”

After Ibiki explains more into intelligence gathering, Temari asks, plainly, “Okay, but I still don’t get the point of the tenth question. What was that all about?”

Ibiki replies, “The tenth question is the whole point of the test. This was to test you not just individual, but as a squad as well. You were given two choices and both of them were difficult. Play if safe and leave even through it meant your squad mates fail as well or take it even through if you failed, you would miss your chance as Chunin. It was a no win situation. It is the question that Chunin have to face. For example: Your team was charged with a mission to take a scroll of important information from an enemy stronghold itself. You have no idea how many enemy ninja are there or how heavily armed they are as well as no knowledge of their skill level. Furthermore, you might have an idea that the enemy knows that you are coming and this is most likely a trap. Do you take the choice of avoiding the danger and allowing your comrades to live to fight another day from this ‘insane’ mission. Do you choose to avoid danger? No, you don’t! They’ll be many missions that seem suicidal in nature, but you don’t think about it. You think only about the goal and achieving it through courage and discipline! Those are the qualities of a Chunin squad leader! Those who run from adversity, those who choose the ‘safer pass’, those who put their lives over their squad mates, and those who save their own neck at the price of sacred honor don’t deserve to be Chunin! At least as long as I’m here!” Ibiki then says, “As those of you that are still here, you have passed and gain the right to move on to the next part of the exam! You have pasted through the first gate! I declare the first part of these Chunin Exams closed!”

Naruto yells out, excitedly, “Oh, yeah!”

Ibiki thinks in his mind, slyly, “That kid is a funny one, but then again, considering his parents, I’m not surprised. If only our Fourth Hokage could see his son now.” Just then Naruto and Ibiki sense something and Ibiki looks only for something or someone to crash right through the window in which when landing, a huge poster appears in-between Ibiki and the examinees. Ibiki thinks in his mind, with a sigh, “Jumped the gun again.”

The person that crashed through the room is revealed to be the person that was controlled earlier by the new Dark Signers, Anko Mitarashi, but only she is wearing a large brown coat and scantly clad in just fishnet with shorts in which she yells out, “Okay, boys and girls! This is no time to be celebrating! I’m your next protector: Anko Mitarashi!” Behind Anko was the poster which said: ‘Here comes the Second Test’s Proctor: Anko Mitarashi!’.

Sakura thinks in her mind, “Great! A nut job! She is just like Naruto!”

Ibiki says, annoyed, “You are early… again.”

Anko sweatdrops and yells out, “Give me a break, Ibiki! I was used a meat puppet for some goons known as the ‘Dark Signers’!”

Naruto yells out, shocked, “Dark Signers?!”
Anko asks, plainly, “You know them, kid?”

Naruto says, with a glare, “I’m their enemy.”

Anko’s eyes widen and Ibiki tells Anko, with a plain tone, “That’s Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze. You read the reports, didn’t you, Anko?”

Anko replies, with a nod, “Oh, that’s it!” Anko tells Ibiki, looking around, “How many are there? Ibiki, you let all these guys and gals pass? Your test was too easy and you must be getting soft!”

Ibiki replies, “Or it could be that we have a stronger bunch of candidates this year especially one Hokage’s son since he is the main reason for them staying here.”

Anko says, looking at Naruto with a sadistic smile, “Really, Ibiki? I’m sure going to like having fun with him.”

Naruto thinks in his mind, nervously, “I don’t think that I will like her version of fun.”

Anko says, with a sadistic grin, “And by this time, I will reduce this bunch by half or even more.”

Sakura asks, nervously, “Half or more?”

Anko says, with a sly sinister smile, “This is going to be fun.” Anko yells out, “Okay, maggots, you had it easy so far, but that’s going to changed! Take a breath for the moment, but your squads leaders will inform where to meet up with me! Dismissed!” Later on, we find Ibiki gathering up test papers and when he gets to Naruto’s paper, he finds it that it is seemly blank.

Ibiki thinks in his mind, “I just passed a candidate that knew the whole point of first nine questions, but didn’t answer a single one! Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, you are just like your mother based on what I read from the files and if you are like her, then life is going to get really interesting.” Ibiki then looks down and he is surprised to notice writing that says to look on the back in which when he looks on the back, he finds a message in which Ibiki’s eyes lower. Ibiki thinks in his mind, “This is really interesting! It seems like our little Namikaze knows something that we don’t! We have our suspicions about that guy based on what we learned, but we couldn’t prove a thing. I had better bring this to the Hokage.”

(In another part of the Leaf Village; Sometime later)

Right now, we find Team 7, Team 8, Team 10, and Team Gai as well as the other remaining Chunin Exam candidates including the Sound and Sand teams are assembled in front of a massive chain-like fence in front of a massive forest that looks like ones that are seen in horror movies.

Naruto asks, amazed, “What is this place?”

Sakura says, nervously, “This place completely creeps me out.”

Anko says, with a grin, “It should, little girl. This is training ground 44 also known as the Forest of Death and soon, you’ll know why.”

Naruto says, rolling his eyes, “Forest of Death, that’s original. I can handle anything that you can bring on me, believe it!”

Anko asks, with a sly smile, “So, we have got ourselves a ‘tough guy’, huh?” Anko then takes a kunai from her sleeve and throws at Naruto in which he manages to bend his head away to avoid the kunai.

Naruto thinks in his mind, shocked, “Geez, if it wasn’t for Hayabusa-sensei’s training, I would have been hit!” Naruto then senses something or someone behind him in which he looks to see Anko behind her.

Anko asks, in a sadistic manner, “You are tough enough to handle this, gaki?”

Naruto tells her, with a sneer, “Watch where you are throwing your kunai! You could have hit him if I wasn’t well-trained!”

Anko says, with a sadistic smile, “Actually, the kunai would have only nicked you, brat!” Anko tells Naruto, “Think you are so tough since you are our Fourth Hokage’s brat, huh?”

Naruto replies, slyly, “I think… No, you crazy witch, I know that I am tough and not because my parents are legendary ninja, psycho girl!”

As Naruto starts to ‘sense’ something, Anko says, with a sly grin, “Tough guys like you leave their blood all over this forest.”

Naruto tells Anko, with a foxy smile, “Guess what? None of it is going to be mine, believe it! By the way, can you tell that guy that’s behind you to beat it? He is invading my personal space like you!” Anko whips over to see what seems like a female Genin with simple clothing and a straw hat having the kunai that Anko just threw in her tongue!

The female Genin says, slyly, “I’m just returning your kunai. Can’t be too careful about throwing these around.”

Anko says, with a sly smile, “Why thank you grass ninja.” Anko then says, slyly, “I suggest that you stand this close to me if you want to gain a premature end.”

After taking the kunai, the Grass kunoichi retracts her tongue and says, “I’m sorry. With the sight of blood and your blade, I just became a bit ‘excited’.”

Hinata thinks in her mind, concerned, “Naruto-kun…”

As the Grass kunoichi walks away, Sakura thinks in her mind, “I thought that the forest was creepy, but these people are creeping me out even more!”

Naruto thinks in his mind, disgusted, “Yuck! What is with these people? And her… Ever since I got control of that blasted fox’s chakra, I’ve gained some kind of new ‘sensor ability’ like the Old Man and Kakashi-sensei like to call it, but it is like I can sense evil within people and their chakra and this woman… Whoa, mama! The evil that this woman is producing can’t be even human!” Naruto tightens his fists while glaring at the Grass kunoichi which doesn’t go unnoticed by Anko and even Sasuke.

Anko thinks in her mind, seriously, “The gaki looks serious and it is that ninja that has got him. I would say that he is spooked, but he doesn’t give the spooked look in his eyes. I read the report on him. Ever since taking control the fox’s full chakra, yin and yang, he has gained a sensory ability and it allows him to sense negative emotions and aura. The brat isn’t exactly too good at controlling it… yet. From what I can see, the Grass ninja must registering off the scale in evil if the gaki is like that. I had my suspicious, but now, I had better keep an eye on that one as well as inform the Hokage about this… development.” Soon enough, Anko takes out contest forms and starts to explain about the second part of the exam and what it is all about.

When she is done, Anko says, pointing to a nearby stand, “All right, take your consent forms and you’ll given a scroll. After which you will pick a gate and be let inside.” Anko says, with a plain tone, “Oh, one more word of advice: Just don’t die!” Soon enough, the examinees start walking around in which Sasuke is watching the stand in which he notices it covered up in which he realizes that the point is to make every team unable to know which team has either scroll, Heaven or Earth, is a part of the second part of the Chunin Exams. Ino and Sakura were arguing about Sasuke and Naruto goes over to Hinata.

Naruto tells Hinata, “Hi, Hinata-chan.”

Hinata tells Naruto, “Hi, N-Naruto-kun.”

Naruto asks Hinata, “Hinata-chan, did you sense some danger when your ‘Mark of the Dragon’ glowed earlier?”

Hinata says, with a nod, “I did, Naruto-kun. I felt like Ryu was in great danger.”

Naruto says, with a plain tone, “And with that psycho protector just said: That she got put under some kind of mind control spell by a ‘Dark Signer’ makes me think that’s what happened. By the looks of it, Ryu is all right.”

Hinata asks Naruto, “Do you think that the ‘Dark Signers’ have really returned?”

Naruto tells Hinata, “We’ll need to ask Ryu and Ayane about what happened, Hinata-chan.”

Hinata gives a nod of her head and she tells Naruto, “B-By the way, g-good luck, Naruto-kun.”

Naruto tells Hinata, with a smile, “You, too, Hinata-chan. See you there!” Naruto then says, whispering, “Hinata-chan, if you see Kabuto or that Grass girl with the long tongue, stay away from them and get you and your team away from them as quick as possible.”

Hinata asks, in a whisper, “Why, Naruto-kun?”

Naruto tells Hinata, “Remember when I told you about that ability to ‘smell’ bad people that I gained from the fox. Kabuto may look nice, but he has got a real nasty streak. And that Grass girl… I don’t even want to think about it. The evil that she was producing is still putting shivers in my spine.”

Hinata says, with a nod, “I understand, Naruto-kun.”

Naruto tells Hinata, with a smile, “Stay safe, Hinata-hime.” Naruto kisses her on the lips and Hinata can’t help to really blush from that in which they soon head over to take their consent forms and get their scrolls in which after Naruto and his teammate turn in their papers, they gain a Heaven scroll. Soon enough, they gather at the 44 gates leading into the training ground to prepare for the second phase of the Chunin Exam.

When it was time, Anko yells out, “All right, you maggots, the second part of the test has begun!” The gates, which have been unlocked, fling open and all of the teams enter inside.

The Grass team rushes in and the female Grass ninja that freaked out Naruto and Sakura earlier yells out, “You know who we are looking for?!”

One of her teammates yells out, “Those brats!” Elsewhere, Team 8 stands in a group of trees in which Hinata uses her Byakugan while with the Sound Team are also racing off.

The bandaged one says, plainly, “We have one target. Stay focused on him.” With Shikamaru’s team, they nearly avoid getting attack by another team while rejoining Team 8, a Genin team from Rain is seemly sneaking up on them, but Kiba’s canine partner, Akamaru, already seems them and they fell into a trap using some blood sucking leeches to drain them and a net to trapped the Rain team in.

Rejoining Team 7, we find Sakura and Sasuke standing together waiting for Naruto as he heads off to go to the bathroom in which Naruto seemly comes out, but Sasuke attacks him in which Naruto yells out, “What’s the matter with you?”

Sakura asks Sasuke, “Sasuke-kun, what are you doing?”

Sasuke says, glaring at ‘Naruto’, “I know that you aren’t Naruto. Your kunai pouch is on the left and Naruto is right handed. Your transformation jutsu is worse than Naruto’s.” Just then ‘Naruto’ turns into a Rain ninja with a mask over his mouth in which the two of them start battling in which the Rain ninja leaps away with Sasuke going after him seeing Naruto, with an annoyed look on his face, over a group of defeated Stone ninja.

Naruto yells out, annoyed, “I told you to fight me, but not when I’m going to the bathroom, you freaks of nature!”

Sasuke thinks in his mind, “Dobe, how do you keep doing such things?! Doing something useful while doing something completely dumb including not noticing your enemies, idiot!” Sasuke yells out, strongly, “Naruto, you idiot! Stop what you are doing and look up!”

Naruto looks up in confusion and the Rain ninja yells out, “You should keep your head in the game!” The Rain ninja unleashes some kunai in which Sasuke ducks down from a branch that he was on, but he then sees one of the kunai had an explosive tag which detonates.

Naruto yells out, stunned, “Sasuke!” Sasuke falls from smoke and dust and manages to land on the ground, but the Rain ninja, with a drawn kunai, appears behind him.

The Rain ninja says, “Sorry, but this is one test that you lose! Hand over the scroll!”

Sakura yells out, finding the scene, “Sasuke-kun!” However, Sasuke just smirks and prepares to stand up.

“Shinra Tensei!”

The Rain ninja is then hit with a powerful gravity force that sends him flying in which Naruto lands near Sasuke.

Sasuke asks Naruto, “What kept you Dobe?” Sasuke then focuses his chakra on the soles of his feet to bring the kunai blade dropped by the Rain ninja when Naruto sent him flying to his feet in which he launches after the Rain ninja flies up into the air from where Naruto sent him. The Rain ninja dodges the kunai in mid-air, but Sasuke, Sharingan blazing, manages to strike him with his own kunai.

Sakura yells out, “Are you both all right?”

Sasuke calls out, “Don’t just stand there, Sakura! Chances are that this guy isn’t alone and Naruto just defeated a group of Stone ninja, don’t get me how, nearby! Chances are that we are not alone here!”

After Sasuke pulls away, the Rain ninja says, “I wish! I came alone not to arouse suspicion! Big mistake!” The Rain ninja then takes off and Sasuke lets him go knowing that a chase is pointless.
Sasuke thinks in his mind, “That takes care of him… for now.” Sasuke then regroups with Sakura and Naruto and he says, plainly, “Tell me you got something Naruto.”

Naruto says, holding up an Earth scroll, “Yep! Lucky us! They had an Earth scroll! We’re already done, believe it!”

Sasuke tells Naruto, “No, Dobe, we are not done. We need to get to the tower with both of these first.”

Naruto says, with a nod, “Oh, yeah, right.”

Sasuke says, with a smirk, “At least, you show that you are useful for something.” Naruto snorts at Sasuke as they take off to figure out a plan to make sure to get to the tower with the scrolls alive, much less safely. Later on, we find them on ground surrounded by a group of the massive trees in this area. Sasuke says, with a plain tone, “We are going to need to figure out a way to know who we say that we are and not just someone using a transformation jutsu.”

Sakura asks, curiously, “What do we do Sasuke-kun?”

Sasuke says, with a plain tone, “We need a password.”

Naruto asks, curiously, “What kind of password?”

Sasuke says, with a plain tone, “A secret one known only to use and don’t trust anyone that knows it. Okay, listen up cause I’m going to only say this once: The question will be when does a ninja strike? And you reply: A ninja waits until the time is right when the enemy sleeps and drops his guard, when his weapons lie forgotten in the stillness of the night, and that’s the moment for the ninja to strike. And that’s the password, got it?”

Sakura says, with a sly smile, “Got it!”

Naruto says, nervously, “I got it. I got it. I expected a password and not a speech.”

Sasuke says, standing up, “And now, I’ll take the scroll.”

Naruto says, standing up, “Wait a minute, Sasuke…” But then Naruto yelp as he feels something nick his face and when he looks towards the source, a huge blast of wind comes from the distance.

Sasuke then yells out, “What is it now?” Just then there is a large explosion in the woods and from the smoke and dust, we can see the Grass team where the massive wind came from.

The kunoichi says, with a plain tone, “You two fan out and keep watch! I’ll take care of this alone!” On the meanwhile, Sasuke is hiding in the bushes when he senses something behind him in which he leaps out to find Sakura in front of him.

Sasuke says, plainly, “Sakura.”

Sakura says, excitedly, “Sasuke, you are okay.”

Sasuke tells Sakura, raising his kunai up in defense, “Stay there! Answer the question: When does a ninja strike?” Sakura then repeats the password phrase perfectly in which Sasuke tells Sakura, with a nod, “Good, Sakura.”

Just then a familiar male voice calls out, “Hey, everyone!” Sasuke and Sakura look to the source to see seemly Naruto coming out towards them.

Sakura yells out, “Don’t come any closer, Naruto! What’s the password?!”

When ‘Naruto’ recites the password, Sasuke attacks him with the kunai which he barely dodged and ‘Naruto’ yells out, “What was that for?! I got the password right!”

Sasuke replies, plainly, “I’ve got to admit that you are quicker than the last one.”

Sakura tells Sasuke, “What do you mean? He got the password word for word!”

Sasuke says, with a plain tone, “And that’s the problem. Do you really think that he can remember all that and recite it word for word? Not the Naruto that I know. You would better off teaching it to a hamster.”

Sakura says, with a nod, “You do have a point, Sasuke.”

Sasuke tells Sakura, “And do you see the way that he dodged? I’ve seen Naruto’s new dodging style and it is nowhere close to that. So, party’s over, pal!”

‘Naruto’ tells Sasuke, his voice sounding like a certain Grass kunoichi, “Aren’t you the clever one?” ‘He’ then transforms into a the Grass kunoichi and she asks, “If your partner was that dimwitted, why come up with such a password?”

Sasuke tells his opponent, slyly, “It wasn’t meant for Naruto as much for anyone eavesdropping on us and you feel right into my trap!”

The Grass kunoichi takes off her hat and she says, slyly, “You haven’t dropped your guard, have you? This shall be very entertaining!”

As she licks the side of her hat menacingly, Sakura thinks in her mind, “Ugh! This person gives new meaning to the word ‘freaky’! And where is the real Naruto?”

(A brief time later; Joining up with Naruto)

Elsewhere in the ‘Forest of Death’, we find Naruto implanted down to his waist into one of the large trees in which he yanks himself out and shakes his head to get himself focused.

Naruto thinks in his mind, “Oh, man! If it was for Hayabusa-sensei’s training, I would face-first in the dirt! I managed to land feet first, but the force of that freaky wind pushed me into the tree!” Naruto says, with a plain tone, “Okay, this was no natural hurricane! Believe it!” But then a shadow looms over Naruto and he looks in which yelps to see a large snake right in front and above him. Naruto yells out, shocked, “That’s one big snake! And it looks like it wants me for dinner!” When the massive snake lashes out, Naruto uses ‘Flying Peacock’ to dodge out of the way and he leaps into the trees, but the snake’s tail coils him up. Naruto yells out, shocked, “I can’t move!” Naruto looks up to see the snake about to eat him in which he closes his eyes, but also focusing his chakra just as the snake eats him whole! But as the snake starts to sliver away, the snake hisses in pain as its neck and upper abdomen starts to expand in an unnatural away before it explodes sending its guts all over the place as well as letting one Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, Rinnegan active, out of the snake’s belly so to speak folks. Naruto yells out, shaking himself, “Gross! I’m going to smell like snake guys for weeks and this stain will never get out of my clothes!” Naruto says, looking around, “Better go find Sasuke and Sakura.” As Naruto heads off to find his teammates, he doesn’t know what trouble that they are in for.

(Rejoining Sasuke and Sakura; Later on)

Sakura and Sasuke are facing off against the mysterious Grass kunoichi as she takes out an Earth scroll from a hiding place on her clothing.

The Grass kunoichi tells them, “Oh, you want this? It should go great with your Heaven scroll.” Just then the Grass kunoichi swallows the whole of the Earth scroll without missing a beat much to Sakura’s and Sasuke’s shock. The Grass Kunoichi then says, with a sadistic smile, “One of us will have both scrolls and the other will be dead!” Soon enough, the kunoichi unleashes massive KI that’s so strong that Sasuke and Sakura see visions of their own deaths and make them completely freeze up with fear!

Sasuke thinks in his mind, “Is this some kind of Genjutsu?” Sasuke then throws up and he thinks, barely able to compose himself, “It’s not that! It is that her bloodlust is so huge that I saw visions of my own death! Who is she? And what is she?” Sasuke says, weakly, “Sakura…” However, when Sasuke looks at her, he saw that she is crying and unable to move or possibly even speak. Sasuke thinks in his mind, “No good. She has got it worse than I do. We’ve got to get out of here and away from her.” As the Grass kunoichi comes closer with two kunai, Sasuke struggles to get on his feet, but when she attacks, Sasuke stabs himself in the left leg to use pain to get him out of his shock in which he gets Sakura and leaves as fast as he can.

The Grass kunoichi thinks in her mind, slyly, “A desperate move, but a clever one.”

A short time soon after, we find Sasuke and Sakura resting on a limb and trying to recover in which Sakura says, shocked to see Sasuke’s injured leg and remembering what happened, “Oh, Sasuke-kun…” But then they hear something coming towards them and they look to see a massive snake attacking in which they barely leap out of the way of the attack.

Sasuke thinks in his mind, “I didn’t sense this coming close! I’m losing it!” But he then sees the sinister Grass kunoichi and he panics in which he attacks the snake as it opens its jaws seemly killing it when his kunai and shuriken go inside of its mouth and throat shredding it, but then out of the snake, the Grass kunoichi emerges with a wicked laugh and smile on its lips in which the Grass kunoichi, like a slivering snake, goes up and around the trees and branches towards the fear-filled Sasuke. But then a group of kunai and shuriken land in front of the Grass kunoichi stopping her in her tracks.

A familiar male voice calls out, “And I thought that I smelled a snake around here!” Everyone then looks to see Naruto standing on the branches above them with a wide foxy grin on his face.

Sakura yells out, excitedly, “Naruto!”

Naruto asks, slyly, “By the way, what was that password again?”

The Grass kunoichi thinks in her mind, slyly, “Why am I not surprised? If he only had half of the talent of his parents, I would expected him to get out, but something tells me that he is much like his mother and got her talent. This just makes thing more interesting to me… Naruto-kun.”

Sasuke yells out, “Naruto, get out of here! You don’t know what you are up against!”

The Grass kunoichi tells Naruto, “So, you managed to escape from my little pet, huh? Well done, but I expected no less from you: The son of the Fourth Hokage and Red Storm.”

Naruto thinks in his mind, “So, that snake was just some random snake living in this freaky forest! That snake was sent by her to attack me or it or whatever! I’m not sure that she is human! The massive of evil that I’m getting from chakra! She is no joke! She or whatever is stronger than she is letting on!” Naruto tells the Grass kunoichi, “Okay, who or what are you? I can tell that you aren’t any ordinary ninja! I knew that you would be major trouble ever since we met with that psycho proctor before we came here to this freaky forest! The negative energy that you produce can’t be made by ordinary ninja!”

Sakura yells out, “What do you mean?”

Naruto says, with a plain tone, “Remember when I told you about that other ‘gift’ that you-know-what gave me after I took IT’S chakra? Ever since I met this freak, it has giving off major alarm bells!”

The Grass Kunoichi’s eyes widen and she tells him, with a sinister sly tone, “I see, Naruto. You have the ability to sense the evil and negative emotions within people much like a sensory ninja senses chakra. Let me guess: A gift from the Nine-Tails?”

There are plenty of gasps and he yells out, “How do you know about that?”

The Grass Kunoichi replies, “I know much about you through I was surprised to learn that you were the son of the Fourth Hokage and Kushina Uzumaki, the princess from the Land of Whirlpools and one of the last members of the legendary Uzumaki clan, but then again, your attitude is just like hers. Let’s just say that we have met before through not officially, Naruto.”

Sakura thinks in her mind, “How does this freak know about Naruto’s mother? I mean that her reputation is well-know, but it sounds like that this ‘snake woman’ knows Kushina Uzumaki personally, but that’s not possible!”

Naruto yells out, strongly, “How do you know my mother, you witch?!”

The Grass Kunoichi replies, slyly, “I know that and so much more. By the way, Naruto-kun, I would like to see your Mark of the Dragon!”

There are more gasps of shock and Naruto shouts out, stunned, “How… How do you know about that?”

The Grass Kunoichi replies, with a sinister smile, “As I said, I know much about you, Naruto! Now, come on, Naruto-kun, show me that you are true Uzumaki and Namikaze heir or are you afraid?!” The Grass Kunoichi then unleashes the same KI as he did on Sakura and Sasuke, but unlike before, Naruto stands completely unfazed!

Naruto says, with a giggle, “Is that pal?! I’ve seen Zabuza with do scarier faces than you, freak!” Naruto thinks in his mind, “But this freak is no joke! I can tell that she is really powerful with the immense amount of evil energy that she is producing! Believe it! There is only one way that I would stand a chance against her, but I’ve got to watch it! Hayabusa-sensei warned me while I have a stronger seal and full control of the fox’s chakra, when I use it, my chakra is pulled aside and my own regular chakra suppressed and fox could drain me of it. And that chakra is my life! If it runs out, I’m a goner! Kakashi-sensei and Hayabusa-sensei both warned me not to use the fox’s chakra unless I really need to! I really hate using that blast fox’s chakra since it isn’t my own power, but to beat this freak, I’m going to really need to go all out! Believe it!” Naruto then focuses himself to unleashing the Kyuubi’s chakra and with a mighty roar of power, Naruto’s body is covered in a golden-yellow chakra clock and his new seal appears as well!

Sakura thinks in her mind, “That’s… Naruto’s chakra cloak when he uses the Nine-Tailed Fox’s chakra!”

The Grass Kunoichi thinks in her mind, slyly, “Interesting! I can sense that it is indeed the power of the Kyuubi, but I don’t sense the malicious nature of the fox in it! So, the boy has indeed taken the fox’s chakra from it, but it is to be seen if he can truly harness that incredible power!”

Naruto yells out, slyly, “Okay, freak, you attacked my teammates and now, you are going to pay for it big time!” Naruto then vanishes with incredible speed and everyone around was wondering where he is, but the Grass kunoichi dodges out of the way of Naruto who slams his fist into the tree branch that she was ‘coiled up’ in causing to disintegrate from his punch! As Naruto heads for the ground, the Grass kunoichi lands in a tree and sticks to it with her chakra while Naruto lands on the ground on his feet, but the strength of the fox’s chakra causing the impact to be much stronger and the ground cracks and depresses slightly from the impact.

The Grass Kunoichi tells Naruto, slyly, “Impressive, Naruto! If that attack would have hit me, I was smashed into bits like that tree! But while you have control the fox’s chakra now, there is a difference between using it and harnessing its full potential and while you are the son of two famous ninja, I doubt that you are at THAT level.”

Naruto yells out, strongly, “We’ll see about that asshole!” Naruto then unleashes a chakra arm right at the Grass Kunoichi which she manages to dodge with ease, but Naruto unleashes another one and he manages to make it bend to head straight for the Grass Kunoichi, who smiles at this.

The Grass Kunoichi thinks, slyly, “He can actually make that chakra move in ways that he wants to with his thoughts, huh? Impressive, Naruto-kun, but you’ll need more than that!” The Grass Kunoichi bends her body around like a snake’s coiled body to avoid the attack in which she launches a barrage of kunai at Naruto, who is trying to retract his chakra arms, but Naruto manages to use ‘Flying Peacock’ forward flip to barely dodge the attack in which he manages to retract his chakra arms completely. However, the enemy ninja has seemly disappeared!

Naruto asks, perplexed, “Where did that freak get to?”

Just then her voice calls out, “Boo.” Naruto yelps as he turns around only to get slammed to a punch in the face by the Grass ninja, but he isn’t even phased!

Naruto replies, with a foxy smile, “Is that all you got?” The Grass ninja gives an unexpected surprised look, but he is then slammed by one of Naruto’s chakra arms and slammed into one of the trees, hard, creating a lot of dirt and smoke!

Sakura thinks in her mind, “Naruto is taking on this freak evenly, but then with that kind of power on his side, how can he not?!” Naruto retracts his chakra arm and charges in to attack, but from the smoke and dust, dozens of poisonous snakes come out to attack Naruto.

Naruto yells out, stunned, “More snakes?!” Naruto turns the fingers of his chakra hands into claws in which he slashes through the snakes through he is barely managing to keep them back. However, out of the smoke and dust, the Grass Kunoichi leaps out at Naruto in which he yelps in surprise and side-steps out of the way causing the Grass kunoichi to pass, but she unleashes a snake from her sleeve that wraps around Naruto’s leg. Naruto thinks in his mind, “She’s got me!” Naruto yelps out as he is violently thrown into the air and swing around like a toy!

The Grass Kunoichi yells out, slyly, “You have done well in truly controlling the Kyuubi’s chakra, but while I admit that you have far more power in this form than I do, your skills are nowhere close to mine and that makes all the difference, boy!” The Grass Kunoichi, using the snake around Naruto’s leg as rope, swings into a tree truck, super hard, creating a huge hole in it from the impact of Naruto’s body!

Sakura yells out, stunned, “Naruto!”

Sasuke thinks in his mind, seriously, “I knew it! That little idiot! He may have the power of the Kyuubi on his side, but he is nowhere near the skill level of this guy and that’s making all the difference!” When the Grass kunoichi retracts the snake to her, she is surprised for a moment that the snake’s head is burned very badly.

However, the surprise fades away quickly as it came and the Grass kunoichi thinks, slyly, “I shouldn’t be all that surprised! Even through the fox’s chakra is separated from the beast itself, it is still yokai chakra and regular animals and human can’t stand up to it! Due to Naruto’s Uzumaki heritage and remnants of the Fourth Hokage’s original that’s part of Naruto’s new seal are responsible for it in which the Crimson Dragon may also be aiding in allowing Naruto’s body to handle such dangerous chakra so easily, but there are limits to that power and I don’t think that Naruto-kun can use that chakra for too long or there might be problems for his body despite the fox having no influence on him or something like that which limits the time he can use the fox’s chakra.” The Grass kunoichi bites her lip and rolls her up her left sleeve revealing some kind of tattoo on her arm in which she puts her own blood on it.

“Summoning Jutsu!”

Just then she brings out a massive snake like before just as Naruto emerges from the tree trunk that she sent him in.

Naruto thinks in his mind, stunned, “She was the one that sent that snake after me!” The new snake attacks Naruto which he manages to dodge and Naruto thinks in his mind, seriously, “She is no joke! She is out to kill us! I’m not sure how much longer that I can keep the fox’s chakra active without it becoming dangerous like Hayabusa-sensei and Kakashi-sensei told me!”

As Naruto looks on, the Grass Kunoichi tells Naruto, “You will make a nice little meal for him! Watch out, Naruto-kun! He likes to play with his food!” The snake makes a swipe with his tail and nothing happens for a second, but then the branch that Naruto was on collapses causing him to lose balance for a second.

At this moment, Sakura and Sasuke yell out in unison, horrified, “Naruto!” However, he manages to flip onto a branch through his landing was unsteady and his dense chakra causing the branch to crack through not break.

Naruto says, closing his eyes, “Oh, yeah! I’ve got a bit of bad news! The last snake that tried to have me for a meal got the worse taste of indigestion and he has no stomach anymore!” When Naruto’s eyes open, he is displaying his Rinnegan eyes which shock the Grass kunoichi.

“Shinra Tensei!”

Just then the massive snake is blasted back with a massive gravity force that sends it flying through the woods in which the Grass kunoichi leaps away in which she seemly phases into the tree that she lands in, but there is some much smoke and dust from skidding of the massive snake, the move is unseen. When the attack is done, Naruto is breathing quite a bit more heavily because even through his stronger stamina and endurance than many ninja along with the fox’s massive chakra at his fingertips, so to speak, this battle has become quite taxing on Naruto for a number of reasons.

Naruto says, “Man! This freak was no joke! I had to use both my Rinnegan and the fox’s chakra to send her into the dirt!”

Just then her voice booms out, slyly, “What makes you think that you got me, Naruto-kun?!” Naruto gasps in surprise as a snake wraps around his waist in which he is thrown into the air by the Grass kunoichi in which she yells out, “Why you are indeed impressive and your Rinnegan greatly impresses me, there is something that I need to do, so, I need for to take a ‘time out’ for now, Naruto-kun!” The Grass Kunoichi then sends Naruto slamming into the ground with a massive ‘bang’ creating a good sized crater from the impact of his body and stunning Naruto for the time being through he hasn’t gone into full unconsciousness.

Sakura yells out, “Naruto!”

The Grass kunoichi replies, with a grin, “Don’t worry your pretty little head! Remember, the fox grants him enhanced healing and that with the chakra and stamina, he shall be up shortly and while he holds great interest to me, I don’t have time for anymore games!” The Grass kunoichi returns the snake to her sleeve in which she attacks Sasuke, but she notices that his Sharingan eyes are flaring and his expression has gone from fear to angry and deadly serious. The Grass kunoichi says, lowly, “So, I see your Uchiha blood has come to a boil, Sasuke. I think that I will have some fun and learn the extent of his powers.” The Grass kunoichi thinks in her mind, “But I had better not play for too long. The boy will recover from that blow quite due to his stamina, endurance, and the enhanced healing from the Kyuubi, so, I had better watch out.” Sasuke and the Grass kunoichi then get into an intense fight in which Sasuke does his best to use his Sharingan to keep up with his opponent. After Sasuke manages to stop his high-speed attacks only to find it was a substitution with some kind of mud duplicate, he barely avoids an attack of dozens to hundreds of kunai in which he uses wire to swing away. He then lures his opponent into a trap where he entraps the Grass kunoichi in wire and causing a powerful explosion with explosive tags and a fire style jutsu.

When things quite down for a moment, Sakura goes over to Sasuke, who is heavily breathing from the attack, in which she says, “Sasuke-kun, are you okay? Don’t worry, you did it. It’s over.” However, the two of them are hit with another massive amount of KI which causes them to be paralyzed again.

Sasuke says, weakly, “No, impossible…”

The Grass kunoichi, who’s upper left portion of her face seems to have ‘melted off’ to reveal plain white skin and a yellow snake-like eye, says, her voice changing from a female one to a male one, “Sasuke, your mastery of the Sharingan at such a young age is impressive. You are a true Uchiha after all and you’ll do nicely.” Just then so-called ‘Grass Kunoichi’ reveals that her/his headband is actually like the one of the Sound ninja team. The mysterious disguised ninja says, “You are his brother after all. In fact, your eyes might even keener than Itachi’s.”

Sasuke gasps at that name and he yells out, “Who are you? What do you want?!”

The mysterious ninja replies, “My name is Orochimaru! But as to what I want, it will have to wait! You have to finish this test with the best score possible! And you’ll need to beat the Sound ninja that serve me!”

Sakura yells out, angrily, “I don’t get what you are talking about! But if you are finished, then leave and I hope to never see you again!”

Orochimaru then says, “But Sasuke and I will meet again.” He then forms his hands into hand signs in which his necks extends out like a snake and when he reaches Sasuke, he bites into Sasuke’s neck with canines that are snake-like fangs!

Sakura says, shocked, “Sasuke-kun, no!” After Orochimaru retracts his neck, three Sharingan tomoe marks appears on Sasuke’s neck and sends a massive amount of pain surging through his body! Sakura yells out, horrified, “Sasuke!” Sakura calls out, angrily, “What have you done to him?!”

Orochimaru replies, “A little parting gift. He will seek me out for my power. And in the meanwhile, I enjoyed the demonstration of the powers that he already possess.”

Just then a familiar male voice calls out, “Hey, jerk! Leave them alone!” Orochimaru looks to see Naruto, his Rinnegan blazing and his chakra cloak still active, charging in for attack.

Orochimaru tells Naruto, phasing into the tree that he is standing on, “And I enjoy the demonstration of your abilities, too, Naruto. We shall meet again as well.” Orochimaru then phases into the tree and vanishes before Naruto can do anything.

Naruto lands on the tree, through cracking it with the Kyuubi’s chakra, and he asks, stunned, “Who or what was that guy?” Naruto de-activates his Rinnegan and his chakra cloak made of the Kyuubi’s chakra in which he turns to see Sasuke in which he yells out, shocked, “Sasuke!” Naruto leaps to his teammates and he asks, stunned, “What happened to him?”

Sakura replies, shaking her head, “I don’t know, Naruto! That Grass ninja wasn’t even a girl! She… He was a guy disguised as a girl! He called himself Orochimaru!”

Naruto asks, shocked, “Wait, Sakura-chan! Did you say Orochimaru?!”

Sakura asks, confused, “You know him?”

Naruto says, shaking his head, “No, but the Old Man does, Sakura-chan! He told me that he was one of his three students also known as the Sannin!”

Sakura yells out, shocked, “THE Sannin, Naruto?! The legendary three ninja including Tsunade, granddaughter of the First Hokage and the legendary medical ninja?! Those Sannin?!”

Naruto says, with a nod, “That’s right, Sakura-chan. He said that Orochimaru went rogue and abandoned the village in which he warned me that he might come after Hinata-chan, Ryu, Ayane, and myself because he wants the Crimson Dragon for himself!”

Sakura asks, confused, “But why come after Sasuke-kun?

Naruto says, with a shrug, “Beats me, Sakura-chan! Maybe his Sharingan has something to do with it!” Just then Naruto notices the mark on Sasuke’s neck and he yells out, stunned, “What the heck is this?”

Sakura says, going over to the kneeling Sasuke’s neck, “This must be what Orochimaru put on him when he bit him in the neck!”

Naruto asks, shocked, “He bit Sasuke in the neck?! What is he trying to be? A vampire like the Camula witch?!” Sasuke yells out in pain and Naruto says, seriously, “I’m not sure, but it is really messing with Sasuke! I can feel a ton of negative energy coming from that hicky on his neck!”

Sakura asks, “Negative energy?”

Naruto says, worriedly, “No wonder the teme is such pain. I don’t even want to think what this thing is doing to him! We have to get him out of here now!” Sasuke then collapses into Sakura’s arms from the pain that the mysterious mark on his neck was giving him. Naruto grabs Sasuke, puts him on his shoulders, and he tells Sakura, “Sakura-chan, we need to go now! We need to find someone like Kakashi-sensei or the Old Man fast!”

Sakura says, tears still in her eyes and with a weak nod of her head, “Right, Naruto.” Immediately, Naruto and Sakura race off into the distance with Naruto carrying Sasuke even through he is somewhat fatigued with his battle with Orochimaru.

Naruto thinks in his mind, “So that was Orochimaru, huh? Oh, man! No wonder the Old Man warned me to watch out for him! It took me using my Rinnegan and the fox’s chakra just to keep up with that freak! And even then, he still slammed me into the dirt! But I don’t get it! The Old Man warned me that he would come after me for the power of the Crimson Dragon, but why Sasuke? Is it his Sharingan? Does he want Sasuke’s bloodline like the Old Man warned me that he would come after me for mine as well? Well, what I do know is that guy isn’t going to get Sasuke or his way and I’m not going to let him hurt anyone else! Believe it!” As Naruto and Sakura continue to move to find a way to get to the towers or at least, a safe place to recover from the battle for the moment, Sakura looks at Sasuke worried as he has collapsed from the pain from the mysterious mark on his neck that Orochimaru has given him in which they wonder what’s to come.

Next time in Chapter 9:

Sakura: Sasuke-kun is looking really bad, Naruto.

Naruto: I know, Sakura-chan. We still have the two scrolls. I’ll see if I can find a way to tower without running into any more teams.

Sakura: That’s a good idea, Naruto, but what about us?

Naruto: I know that you can keep the teme safe until I get back, Sakura-chan. I have faith in you.

Sakura (confused): You have faith in me, Naruto?

Bandaged Sound Ninja: Where is Sasuke? We’re here for him!

Sakura: You won’t get him! I won’t let you!

Sound Kunoichi: As if you can stop us, you aren’t even a proper kunoichi!

Ino: What’s this? Oh no! Sasuke-kun is in trouble!

Shikamaru: Don’t you care that Sakura and that other guy is in trouble too?

Sakura: Sasuke?

Sasuke (with a sinister smile): This power… it is coursing through me…”

Naruto: What do you think you are doing, Sasuke-teme?

Sakura: We’ve finally arrived at the tower! Huh, Iruka-sensei?

Third Hokage: Congratulations on all of you that have passed the exam, but before we can start the Third Exam, we need to hold a series of preliminary bouts!

A deep evil voice: I’m afraid that’s going to have to wait old man!

Ryu: Who are you?

Yami Marik: I am Marik and I’m here for the power of the Millennium Tome! Surrender it to me or prepare for eternal torment in the Shadow Realm!

Naruto: No way, asshole! My family guarded that spell book and I’m going to let some kind mind controlling sicko-like you get it! Let’s duel!

We’ve are now in the second part of the Chunin Exam and I know there were more ‘scenes’ to this part of the Naruto storyline, but much of what happens in my story is going to based on the Naruto anime/manga through some changes including what happened in the fight with Team 7 and Orochimaru, so, other than stuff like that, everything is going to happen the same. And soon enough, Yami Marik is going to make a big show. However, you must be wondering who kidnapped Tai and Kari and you are going to have to read and find out!
