I woke up in a smelly bed. It smelled of girl, or rather young woman who wasn’t bothered about cleaning her sheets enough. I peered at the dim light and moved the comforter out of my way to see. She was a plain looking American girl, wearing headphones, sitting at a desk under a light, studying.

I could hear a tinny sound from the earphones, despite them being full ear models that should be silent. She must have them really turned up loud. I shrugged and pointed my hand at her, cast Healing Hands and repaired her eardrums, some skin problems from being indoors too much, and lesions on her spinal column from hunching over. She must have been studying like this with the headphones for literal years. She reacted to my healing by reaching over and turning a knob on her sound system to lower the volume. The tinny sound vanished and I was able to hear the crisp grind of a pen on paper, the turning of pages, and the normal scribbling noises that reminds me of Komachi when she’s actually studying. I laid my head back down and drifted off to sleep.
