Chapter 1

Kagome is now seventeen years old. Two years have passed since she has been searching for the Shikon Jewel and was now close to completing the Jewel. They had less than half of the Jewel, since Nuraku had more than half in his possession. The final battle is coming to an end, and they all knew it. They also knew, that in this battle they may not all survive. Kagome had adopted the Kitsune Shippou in a demonic ritual in which Sesshoumaru had performed for them. They had sneaked away from the group that night to meet with Sesshoumaru. Since Sesshoumaru saw Kagome as his little sister, he also saw how much she loved her kit. He had told her of the ritual and also told her that the ritual may change certain physical characteristics. The only price he asked for performing this ritual was her cooperation in performing another. He wanted to perform a blood ritual to make Kagome his sister in blood, since in his heart she already was.

“Shhh. Shippou, we must be quiet. We don't want Inuyasha to hear us. If he finds out he may try to stop us.” Kagome said quietly to her kit.

“Okay Momma. But are you sure Sesshoumaru really will be able to do this for us.” Shippou asked.

“Yes Shippou, now quiet till we get there.” Kagome said. Shippou instantly quieted down. He was so excited. Kagome was going to adopt him as her son. He just couldn't wait. He had dreamt something like this, but never thought it would actually happen.

Several minutes passed till they finally came upon a clearing. Sesshoumaru, along with Jaken, Rin, and Ah-Uhn, was already there waiting. “About time Miko. I was beginning to think you had changed your mind. Or is it you do not want to become my sister? If not they I will not ask it of you. Come we will still perform the ceremony for the adoption.” Sesshoumaru asked imperiously. In truth he was nervous. He wasn't certain if Kagome would really want to become is sister in truth. He didn't want to force her into it. Sesshoumaru wanted for Kagome to really want to become part of his family.

Kagome sensing his unease, knew that he feared her rejection. Though she also knew that he would forever deny it, even unto death. You just had to really get to know this indifferent Taiyoukai, to understand what he is feeling. “Sesshoumaru, I would be honored to become your sister. There is nothing that would stop me from completing this ritual.” She said sincerely, allowing her eyes and expression to show how truly honored and grateful she was.

“Very well.” He said, allowing a small smile to grace his lips. Shocking Shippou. Shippou had truly believed that the cold demon lord did not know how to smile. “Miko, we will first perform the ritual binding us as sister and brother. Once this ritual is performed, we will then perform the one binding you and the kit as mother and son. By doing it this way, it will also bond Shippou to me as my nephew. He will become part of my family, and thus become my responsibility to train him. Do you understand what that means Kit?” He asked the small child.

Shippou looked at the cold lord for a few seconds before comprehension dawned. It meant that Sesshoumaru acknowledges him as family, and will treat him and protect as part of his pact. Once this fact settled within his mind, Shippou threw himself at the Taiyoukai and hugged the hell out of pants while repeating the words thank-you over and over and over again.

Though Sesshoumaru felt warmth in the region of his heart at the Kit's ready acceptance, he did not show it. He patted the kit on the head. “That is enough Kit. It is time to perform the ritual.” He said kindly.

They first performed the ritual to make him and Kagome siblings, as soon as that was done, they performed the ritual between Kagome and Shippou. Under the moon the rituals were performed, bonding all three into a family of sorts. Though Sesshoumaru was not affected in any way, other than a bond with Kagome, Kagome and Shippou were. Kagome differences were major as she now discovered something major. She was now a demon. A full demon. Kagome was now half dog demon, half fox demon. She now had black Kitsune ears above her head. Her once raven black hair was now as silky and silver as Sesshoumaru's. Also, she now had claws. Unfortunately, instead of getting taller, she now shrunk. Instead of being 5.5” she was now barely 5.0” tall. Her once blue eyes were now a golden amber with a tinge of green circling the amber. Her breasts were also a bit fuller and her hands now had claws. Though she still did not notice this, and would probably take a while before she does, she now had a bushy silver tail. She also gained two stripes on each side of her face as well as above each hand. This signifying that she was the sister to the Lord of the Western Lands. Shippou's changes were not as noticeable. He was still the same height, though his green eyes were now circled by amber. He also had silver highlights as well as two stripes on each cheek and above each hand.

“Wow Mom, you look really different.” Was the first thing to come out of Shippo's mouth.

“You should talk.” Kagome said in amusement. Then when Shippou's words finally dawned at her she looked down at her hands and saw claws. “EEep. Sesshoumaru what happened?” Kagome asked.

Sesshoumaru looked at both Kagome and Shippou, he then searched within himself and found nothing different. It seemed the only thing he had gained was a bond between himself and Kagome and Shippou. This bond would enable him to tell when they were in danger. He then expanded his senses and felt out Kagome and Shippo. What he felt shocked him. Though the ritual performed is suppose to bond them, he had never heard of anyone being affected like this. Shippou was now part Inu demon. He now carried some of his characteristic. Kagome on the other hand, confused him. She was now full demon, half dog demon and half fox demon. But she was still a Miko. He didn't think it would be possible, but it was. Kagome was a Miko Demon.

“It would seem you are now a full demon.” He said shortly.

“What!! You never said anything about this happening.” Kagome shrieked at him, causing Sesshoumaru and Shippou to wince, their poor ears.

“It would seem that your Miko energies has a lot to do with what has occurred. Though with most Miko's, their energy would instantly purify any youkai as it entered their body, thus they would remain the same. Your Miko, it appears, accepts youkai, thus your change.” He said simply.

“Oh, okay.” Kagome said and then heard the rustle of leaves, thus making her ears twitch. Not accustomed to twitching ears Kagome slowly brought her hands up and felt her new ears. “I've got doggy ears? What? How am I suppose to hide these when I go back home. I won't be able to go to school with doggy ears.” She all but shrieked.

Wincing, Shippou answered his mother, trying to calm her down. “Calm down mom. Those aren't doggy ears. Their fox ears, you got those from me.” He said with a pout.

Seeing his pout Kagome instantly calmed down. “Oh Shippou, I'm not ashamed of them. Never think that. But where I am from, there are not many demons anymore. At least not that I am aware of.” Kagome said calmly.

“Miko I believe it best if you and the Kit learn how to disguise your new appearance. At least until you are able to tell your group of what has transpired.” Sesshoumaru said calmly. “I will teach you this spell. You will have to practice it every night, but until then I have a pendant for each of you. This pendant will alter your appearance to what it originally is. Every night you are to take it off and practice without it. Understood.” The pendants hung on a silver chain each. Kagome's pendant was of a silver dragon clutching a rose in its claw, while Shippou's was just of a silver dragon.

After putting on the pendants Kagome noticed the quick change in Shippou back into his original form. Kagome instantly hugged Sesshoumaru. “Thanks Sesshy. Now please show us this spell.” Kagome said taking off her pendant, Shippou seeing his mom take off hers, he took his off as well. They spent many hours practicing the spell. They learned just enough to get the gist of it and be able to practice it on their own. Though they were not able to keep their new appearance for more than a few minutes. It was a very tired Kagome and Shippou that made it back to camp with only a couple hours to rest before they would again begin their journey.

~*~*~*~*~

It was now two months since that night. Kagome had gotten home the day before and was now hurrying home from school. She really didn't want to talk to her friends and find out what new diseases her grandfather had made up for her. She was running in hopes of escaping her friends. She ran, unseeingly around the corning.

THUMP! She hit something hard and fell on her butt on the cement floor.

“Ouch!” She mumbled rubbing her posterior.

“Hey wench look where your going!” An angry male voice yelled at her.

Kagome stiffened as she heard that voice. She new that voice. Even though it had been five years since she last heard it, she would never forget it. Kagome slowly raised her face, her eyes taking in everything that was in front of her. She finally looked into the brown eyes of the man in front of her. Even though he had changed, had matured, Kagome recognized him instantly.

“Are you deaf or what?” The man said rudely, when it seemed all the girl would do was just stare at him.

“Yusuke, perhaps she is injured. Instead of yelling at her, maybe you should offer her some assistance.” A red head said. Kagome turned her gaze away from Yusuke and nearly drooled at the red head. He was so gorgeous. But then what he said triggered in her mind. He had called him Yusuke. Yusuke who should be dead. Yusuke who died five years ago while she was at the hospital. Her half-brother Yusuke. They shared the same father, but not the same mother.

“Please excuse him Miss, he doesn't seem to know any better.” Kurama explained to the girl on the floor.

“Hn.” Snorted a short guy. Kagome looked away from the red head and looked at the shorter guy. This guy seemed to be her height, well her height when not under concealment. He was also dreamy. His aura was conflicted though. She was puzzling through that when she felt an intrusion into her mind. She instantly knew who it was from and sent the guy a stare, but didn't kick him out, not just yet.

Hiei didn't know why, but something about this girl picked his interest. There was something about her that called out to him. He was intrigued. He let his Jagan free and decided to enter the girl's mind to find out more about her. Though he was able to wander a bit through her mind, it seemed he could not access any memories. It was as if the only thing he could access was the girl's current thoughts or images. He was a bit surprised when he learned that the girl felt him, but he was shocked when she willingly allowed him to stay in her mind. His eyes narrowed, this girl was a mystery. A mystery he fully intended to explore.

Kurama was truly enchanted, this girl was beautiful. He lowered his hand to help the girl, but was surprised when the girl just ignored him and slowly got up on her own. Kagome calmly dusted off her clothes and picked up her backpack. As soon as she was done, she calmly walked over to where Yusuke was standing.

Who is this chick. She looks oddly familiar. Wait why is coming near me. Her eyes sure do look scary. He thought frantically to himself. “Hey what's wrong with you! Why are coming near me?” He yelled at her.

Kagome just smirked. This was going to feel so good. She allowed an image to show in her head of what she planned to do to Yusuke. She wanted to know what this little guy would do. To her amusement, he just smirked and waited for the show to start. Once she stood in front of Yusuke, she pulled her arm back, made a fist, and let it fly. She punched him in the face, sending him flying into the alley and into a brick wall, knocking him unconscious.

“Ooops. I didn't mean to hit him that hard.” Kagome said innocently at the two guys staring at her with their mouths open.

Hiei had seen the image in her mind, of her hitting Yusuke into a wall. But he never thought she could pull it off. “Umn, you do know you can catch flies that way don't you.” Kagome said to the two who had yet to close their mouths. Kagome walked over to Yusuke's body and gently kicked him. “You don't think he's dead do you?” She asked.

Kurama and Hiei finally broke out of their stupor and walked over where Yusuke was. “Hn. I doubt it. He's to stupid to die.” Hiei said in slight amusement.

Kurama went down to inspect him and felt for a pulse. “No, he's alive, just unconscious.” He said calmly.

“Oh goody.” Kagome said sarcastically. She really, really, really wanted to hit Yusuke again. In fact she was contemplating on whether or not to kick him. Though it was truly beneath her to kick someone when their down, she was really considering it.

“I wouldn't advise it wench.” Hiei said calmly, earning a questioning look from Kurama.

Kagome just gave him an innocent look, then pouted. “Why not, he wont feel it. Besides he deserves it.” She pleaded.

Hiei found himself wanting to agree with her, but it was just dishonorable. Since he didn't trust himself to speak he just sent her a glare.

Kagome pouted even more. “Fine, you party pooper.” She looked over at the red head. “So how long do you think he'll stay out?” She asked. She really, really wanted to beat him up. Then after that, if he was still alive, she wanted answers.

“It's hard to tell. Better take him to my place, it could be awhile.” Kurama said calmly. Then proceeded to lift Yusuke up and over his shoulder, carrying him like a sack of potatoes.

“Can I come?” Kagome asked to the surprise of the two demons. “I promise I won't beat him up when he's unconscious. I'll wait till he wakes up.”

Not wanting to be separated from her just yet, Kurama and Hiei quickly agreed. “My names Kagome, what's yours?” She asked her two companions.

“I'm Kurama, pleasure to meet you Kagome.” Kurama said politely.

“Hiei.” Hiei said simply.

“Okay, so how far do you live by the way.” She asked.

“Just a block from here. We were on our way there.” Kurama replied.

“Kewl.” Kagome's stomach rumbled, reminding her that she missed lunch that day. “uh. Oops.” Her face a dark shade of red.

Kurama hearing this, smirked in amusement. “I don't have any food at the house, since I've been out of town for a while, but I do have some ice-cream.” He offered.

Kagome's stomach rumbled even louder at the mention of ice-cream. “Ice-cream? What kind? I love ice-cream.” She asked excitedly.

Kurama looked over at Hiei. It was Hiei's after all, and as such it was up to Hiei as to which ice-cream he wanted to share. In truth his whole freezer was full of ice cream. Ice cream of different flavors.

Hiei sighed. It seemed he was going to share his ice cream. “How about you wait till we get there. There too many to count.”

Kagome's eyes widened at that comment. “Okay.” She said eagerly.

They continued the rest of the way in silence. They made it into the apartment, to which Kurama just dumped Yusuke onto the sofa. Hiei showed Kagome the ice cream and she immediately saw her favorite flavor. Though it was not as sweet as the other, the taste was just heavenly. Pineapple sherbert. Hiei almost whined when he saw her attacking his favorite ice cream. Though he did pout, he tried his best to look away as Kagome started serving herself into a big bowl. Kagome noticing his pout, instantly figured that this was his favorite as well. She got another bowl and shared the ice cream evenly. She then put a spoon into each bowl and offered the other bowl to Hiei. Hiei eyes widened when he saw that she was willing to share. He instantly grabbed the bowl and then to those watching it looked like a contest to see who would finish first. To Kurama's surprise, it was a tie.

“Uhm. Excuse me but where is your restroom?” Kagome asked after she finished.

“Down the hall second door to the right.” Kurama answered her.

Kagome easily found the restroom. As soon as she came out, she noticed a door that was slightly ajar. She peeked in and saw plants literally covering the whole room. Mesmerized she slipped in and noticed that the plants had an aura of their own. They were moving towards her. Instead of being scared, Kagome reached out her hand and let the plants feel her aura. They instantly befriended her and Kagome giggled as one of them tickled her.

Hearing the giggle, Kurama and Hiei looked at each other in confusion. Why was a girl giggling in the restroom. Hiei allowed his Jagan to connect with the girl again, but this time he only got the impression of plants, lots of them. And they looked like Kurama's special kind.

“Kurama, did you close the door to your plants?” Hiei asked.

Kurama's eyes widened. No he had not. Seeing Kurama's expression, Hiei turned and ran into the direction of the room. Kurama followed right behind him. Once they reached the room they both stood in shock. Not only was the girl in the room. She was playing with the plants. The plants were not attacking her, they were playing with her.

Feeling that someone was staring at her Kagome turned around. “Ooops, busted. Sorry, but the door was open and then I saw all these beautiful plants and well I couldn't help myself.” She said in slight embarrassment.

Kurama smirked. “No problem, it seems they have taken a liking to you. Come I think Yusuke is starting to stir.” He said and turned to leave the room.

Kagome followed, but paused beside Hiei. “Hello, earth to Hiei? Are you coming?” She asked.

Hiei blinked, then quickly turned and went to the living room where the detective currently was.

Yusuke was indeed stirring. He slowly sat up on the sofa and attempted to clear away the cobwebs in his head. When he finally looked up, it was to see the girl who punched him standing against the wall between Kurama and Hiei. Yusuke instantly stood up and went into a fighting stance.

“What's going on here. And who is that crazy chick?!?” Yusuke yelled.

Hearing herself being called a chick, Kagome stiffened. “Yusuke Urameshi! How dare you call me a chick!” Kagome yelled back as she pushed herself off the wall and started stalking up to Yusuke. When Kurama and Hiei heard Kagome say Yusuke's full name they stiffened. They had not mentioned the detectives last name.

“I can call you whatever I want!” He yelled back, causing Kagome to get even angrier.

“Yusuke Urameshi, Just you wait till I get my hands on you! I will make you wish you had stayed dead! To think I've mourned all this time for you! Who do you think you are, not telling me you were alive. Did you even die, did you even get hurt. How dare you have someone lie to me that you were dead. Where have you been these last five years Yusuke?!” Kagome yelled at him.

Yusuke was getting a headache. He still didn't know who this chick was. Though she did look familiar, he just couldn't place her. She knew he had died, but who was she. “Who the hell are you!?” He yelled at her.

“I'm your sister, you baka! Don't tell me you forgot all about me Stupid! Just wait I'm sooo going to kick your ass!” Kagome yelled at him, causing every one in the room to stiffen in shock. Kurama and Hiei never knew that Yusuke had a sister.

Yusuke was in shock because he hadn't seen his sister in over five years. When he found out that she thought he was dead, he had decided not to let her find out otherwise. Because of his job as a detective for spirit world, he didn't want her to be used as bait. He didn't want her to get hurt. So he just allowed her to keep thinking he was dead. It was safer for her. Too bad he couldn't say the same thing about himself as he had to gasp for air.

That felt so good. Kagome thought to herself after she punched Yusuke in the stomach. “You baka, why didn't you ever tell me anything? I needed you! Damn it Yusuke, when I needed you the most you weren't there! Now you better have a damn good reason why you never told me anything, or so help me I'll make you wish you had died.” She threatened.

Yusuke slumped into the sofa defeated. He didn't know what to say. “Kagome I did die. When I saved that kid from the car. I wasn't suppose to die, but I did. I also came back to life. I, I can't tell you why I never contacted you again. I'm sorry.” He said softly. His sister was standing there in front of him. His little sister, that he had sworn to always protect. He just couldn't look into her eyes. Those eyes that were damning him for all of the pain he caused her.

Kagome looked at her brother. She studied his aura, what she found shocked her. Since when did Yusuke become a demon? She thought to herself. For that matter, since when did he hand around demons. Yusuke Urameshi you have a lot of explaining to do. Kagome was going to start yelling at him some more, when she started feeling his emotions. They were tortured. He does care. Damnit Yusuke what happened? She wondered.

Kagome kneeled down in front of him and took his hands into hers. Yusuke seeing Kagome get his hands looked questioningly into her eyes. “Yusuke, why are you now a demon, and why are you around two demons?” She asked quietly, surprising yet again Kurama and Hiei.

Yusuke looked at her in shock. “What are you talking about?” He asked stubbornly.

“Yusuke you know what I'm talking about.” Kagome said angrily as she stood up.

“Kagome, there are no such things as demons.” He said feverently.

“Wench, demons do not exist.” Hiei said bluntly.

“I must agree with Yusuke, Demons do not exist. They are merely legends, myth.” Kurama said calmly.

Kagome looked at each of them, taking in their expressions. She knew they were lying to her, and she found herself starting to lose control. Before she exploded and accidentally purified someone she found it a good idea to leave. “Fine, be that way. Yusuke, since you obviously want to stay dead, don't ever come near me. If either of you see me, don't acknowledge me, don't talk to me, don't even look at me. As far as I'm concerned you three don't exist.” Kagome then opened the door, then paused. “Oh and fox, your plants told me to tell you that you don't spend enough time with them. They also said to tell you that you need a mate. They want some little kits to play with and tell stories to.” She then slammed the door and used her demonic speed to go across town. She made sure that her sent disappeared far from her home. She didn't want any of those two demons to find her. Kagome was too pissed off at them.

Yusuke was sitting on a sofa, shocked to say the least. “How did she know all that?” He asked out loud.

“Your telling me? Yusuke, you never mentioned a sister? Why?” Kurama asked.

“I didn't want her to be brought into all this. Do you know all those demons who would gladly use her as bait just to get to me. She could be hurt, or even worse. I'm her big brother I'm suppose to protect her.” Yusuke said quietly.

Hiei didn't say anything. He felt the same way Yusuke did, which was why he had not told Yukina about being her brother. It was not that he feared rejection, just the opposite. He knew that she would welcome with open arms. No, what he feared was what would happen to her if his enemies ever found out he had a sister. He feared what would happen to her.

“The Detective's right.” Hiei said simply as he shared a look of understanding with Yusuke.

“That may be, but how did she know that we were demons. How was she able to speak with my plants. They have been telling to get a mate for a while now. How did she know that?” Kurama asked. He loved mysteries and really wanted to solve this one.

“I don't know Kurama, but you are to stay away from her. Do you hear. We have too many enemies right now Kurama. You and Hiei have even more than I do. I do not want Kagome in danger, do you understand. She is to stay away from this. Give me your word that you'll stay away from her. Both of you.” Yusuke demanded. He didn't want his sister hurt for any reason. He'd kill them, if anything happened to her because of them.

Kurama and Hiei looked at Yusuke. What they saw, was something they never thought to see in their teammates eyes. At least not directed at them. They saw their own deaths, if they were the ones to bring harm to his sister. They also saw his worry and love for her. They had never seen Yusuke show that much love towards anyone. Even Kayko was kept at a distance. That was the main reason they finally separated for good.

“Very well detective. You have my word.” Hiei said simply.

“As you have mine Yusuke. I will not seek her out.” Kurama agreed.

“Thank you. Now if you two will excuse me, I'm going for a walk.” Yusuke said as he stood up. He then headed out the door and outside. He had a lot to think about. He was not proud for causing his sister pain, but he would not willingly risk her life.

Hello, sorry but I just had this idea floating in my head and wouldn't let me go. I know I am currently writing another fic. So because of that, I do not plan on updating this one that often. My main priority is the other one. Once the other one is finished then I will update on this one more often. I will finish Kagome's purpose. Though not clear on how many more chapters to go. I will not abandon it. Not when it's getting good. Hope you like this one. Read and Enjoy. Oh and don't forget to review. I decided on something different. Hehehe Inuyasha is sooo going to be mad when he finds out about Kagome and Shippou.
