Round one: Darc and Zabuza Vs. Chrono and Akibane
Welcome one and all to the first round of the Anime Grand battle. We have pulled contestents from all over the anime universe (or at least anime i have seen/the other writer has seen) that are here to battle for your viewing pleasure. The winners of the tournament will go down in history as the most powerful anime team in the multiverse. To start off our tournement we have a round that promises much excitement.
Our first team Consists of the amazing phantom thief Darc, hailing from the anime D.N. Angel and his partner the ruthless outcast of Naruto's Hidden mist village, Zabuza of the seven swordsman. Their opponents in the first round are the rightous demon of Hell, Chrono the Sinner of Chrono Crusade partned with a man possibley more evil than Satan himself, Akibane, a.k.a Dr. Jakle, from the Get Backers. Our first match will be held in the pits of great volcano. Several pillars petruding from the lava are the only places to stand, and range from 1 to ten feet appart from eachother. Now let the first match begin.
At one side of the arena stood Darc, with his black wings stretched out ready to fly. A few pillars away from him stood Zabuza with his huge sword ready to strike. At the opposite side of the arena Stood Chrono in full demon form ready to take off straight towards the enemy and Akibane, who stood calmly with a smirk on his face.
"So Chrono," said Akabane, "how about you handle their wings while i take on the freak?"
"You'll regret you said that," replied Zabuza, who had heard him from all the way across arena.
"Don't underestimate them," replied darc in a cool voice, "it may just come back and bit you."
"Thats enough," said Chrono, "the sooner the fights over the better. Lets go Akibane," and then he flew towards Darc.
"Oh fine," said Akibane, "But the mental abuse is half the fun," he seemed slightly dissapointed but went on anyway. He swifly jumped from pillar to pillar at Darc and Zabuza, but they hadn't moved a muscle. Chrono reached much earlier than Akabane and launched a ball of dark energy at darc, and it was ment by a darc energy ball of Darcs. The return fire, however, accomplished nothing since Chrono's magic was much stronger. Darc managed to fly straight up dodging the ball and chanted some words as he threw a feather at Chrono, hitting him in his head. Chrono's eyes widened as he fell from the sky, unably to use his wings and fly.
Chrono managed to land on a pillar as he said, "What did you do Darc!?"
"Well, you seemed to have an advantage, so i just clipped your wing, neat trick huh?" Darc replied Smuggly.
"Well Chrono," said Akabane now that he was there, "seems i will have to handle both of them?"
"Don't be foolish," Chrono said, "just because im wingless doesn't mean i can't fight."
"Very well," said Akabane, "besides, if you die, the later fights will be more fun for me."
"Well, now i kinda wish you were my partner," interupted Zabuza, "But it doesn't matter, all that matters is that you die!" and with that Zabuza lept down at Akabane with his sword ready to crush.
"How foolish attacking like that, such a bore," and Akabane lauched knives from his hand and they impaled Zabuza's head. However Zabuza's body dissapated into water that landed all around Akabane.
"Water barrier Jutsu!" cried Zabuza's voice from behind Akabane, imprisoning him in a sphere of water from the destroyed water clone, "Is this still a bore for you now?" asked Zabuza Smuggly.
"Well I must say i didn't excpect this much of a fight, but if you think that this barrier will hold me your quite mistaken," said Akabane.
"Hah!" replied Zabuza, "my barrier is indistructable, there is no way you could ever break...." and with that Zabuza went silent. A knife had shot strait through the barrier and impaled Zabuza's throught, causing him to fall down into the lava.
"Zabuza!" called darc as he shot down to grab his fallen commrade, hoping to save him before he hit the lava. Taking his chance to end it, Chrono formed his shord blades and launched himself at Darc, intercepting him and slicing off his wings. Darc screamed in pain as he too fell to his death in the lava.
"Well that was amusing," said Akabane, "Let us hope the next kill will be funner."
"Be quite," said Chrono, "you know that they die only temporalilly, we will all be brought back and sent to our own worlds after this is over."
"True," said Akabane, "but none the less, we are still killing, and if they are brought back, we have the opprotunity to kill them all over again." With Akabane's last statement Chrono fell quite, now doughting if the tournement was worth it.
Round one goes to Chrono and Akabane, making short work of Darc and Zabuza. This demonic duo will continue on to the next round, there opponets being either Sagara of Tsubasa and sailor moon, or Kohaku and Inuyasha, both from Inuyasha. Tune in next time to find out.
