Chapter 4-Bishi!

"I hate the woods." Kamira grumbled, stumbling on yet another tree root. She'd been walking through this forest for nearly an hour now and all she'd managed to do was cover herself in scratches and scrapes. "I hate the woods." she repeated sourly, dragging herself up. "Why can't there be any free Bishies near the city?" she asked the nearest tree. It didn't answer. Kamira stumbled on, thinking longingly of the city she had left behind.

"So, are you ready to go?" Laura asked.

"Are you kidding?" Kamira cried. "I've been ready since yesterday!" Laura giggled. Kamira had been impatient all morning. She'd wanted to go off as soon as she she had finished shopping but Laura had convinced her to stay at a hotel for the night. Now the two trainers were at the gate to Epoh city, ready to continue/start their journeys.

"Well, at least now you're dressed."

"Yeah." Kamira agreed, looking down at her new outfit. She now wore a yellow, long-sleeved, off the shoulder shirt and faded blue jeans. She had traded in her slippers for some yellow sandals. She had bought it yesterday along with several capsules (from DBZ) of food and other clothes, all of which she kept in a yellow (of course) purselike bag. "I can't wait to go off find a Bishi of my own." she said, going starry-eyed.

"First you have to decide where you go." Laura said. "You're pretty lucky to have had your orientation here. Epoh city is surrounded by all kinds of different territories."

"So which one's which?"

"Well, your Dex has a map but's it not very reliable."

"Why not?" Kamira asked, glancing at her Dex. She'd been toying with half the night yesterday, annoying Yusuke to no end, and it had seemed fine.

"Every time the world expands most maps become useless. Not even the Dex can keep up."

"The world expands?"

"Yeah." Laura nodded. "Every now and then a new territory is added to the world and it has to expand to keep from becoming too crowded."

"Ah." Kamira said, understanding. "So, how do I know where to go if I can't use a map?"

"Don't worry, the basic layout of the territories usuallys stays the same. You'll be able to find your way around in no time. Until then, that way is where you'll find the mecha anime territories." Laura said, pointing to the left.

"Mecha anime?"

"You know, Big O, Macross, pretty much all the gundams, that sort of thing." Laura explained.

"Oh."

"Straight ahead is where you'll find the territories of anime that has to do with sorcery and demons. For example, Inuyasha, Shaman King, Yu Yu Hakusho." She nodded at Yusuke standing behind her, who was still half asleep. "That's where we'll be headed. To the right is where you'll find the monster anime territories. Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh!."

"Yu-Gi-Oh?" Kamira asked confused.

"You know, Duel 'Monsters'."

"Of course." Kamira turned towards the right. "That's where I'll go. Digimon was the first anime I ever saw, so it makes sense that my first Bishi should be from there." Suddenly she went starry-eyed again. "Maybe I'll catch an Izzy, or a Tai!" Laura, having never seen Digimon, just smiled.

"Well, I better get going if I want to get to the YYH territory before nightfall. See ya!" With that, Laura headed straight ahead, once again dragging Yusuke by his collar. Kamira waved goodbye, feeling a slight twinge of fear at seeing her first friend in the Bishi world walking away. Fear soon gave way to anger when a pink clad trainer accidently crashed into her, causing both to fall to the ground.

"Owww." they groaned in unison. Kamira was the first to stand, shaking dust off her new clothes. She held out her hand to the girl who had bumped into her when she realized who it was.

"Rosa!?" she cried in surprise. Rosa, for it was indeed her, looked up.

"Kamira!?" She jumped up. "Why did I have to bump into you?"

"I think it's fate. Someone up there really doesn't like us." Kamira replied with another groan.

"Whatever." she said, picking up the pink bag she had dropped and draping it over her shoulder. Apparently she had been shopping too. Her clothes were the same, though she had switched to pink denim skirt for some pink jeans. She also must have found the exact same t-shirt and jacket somewhere, or else a really good laundromat. Rosa pushed past Kamira and headed to left, towards the Mecha territories. Kamira stuck her tongue out at her then headed to the right, towards the monster territories. Neither looked back.

Kamira gave a quiet growl remembering that meeting, then a a shriek as she nearly fell into a stream. Luckily she managed to grab a nearby tree banch just in time. Unluckily, the tree branch scraped off quite a bit of skin in payment. Wincing, she knelt and dipped the injured hand into the stream, the cool water soothing the pain. With her other hand she searched in her bag for the capsule that held first-aid kit. Finding the capsule, she opened it and grabbed some bandages and antiseptic.

Gingerly, she sprayed the antiseptic and wrapped the bandage tightly around her hand. Someone humming distracted her from her work. Kamira looked up. /Maybe it's a Bishi!/ she thought excitedly. The pain was already forgotten. Quietly she stood up and tiptoed upstream toward the humming. She peered around a tree and to her delight she saw a Hoenn league Misty (pokemon) fishing. A Gyarados, most likely Misty's, swam nearby.

Kamira quietly snuck up behind Misty. Pulling out a Bish ball and praying that the Gyarados wouldn't attack her for catching it's trainer, she threw it. Misty didn't even notice it till it her head. She vanished and so did her Gyarados, surprisingly enough. The Bish ball shook violently for a few seconds, then stopped. Kamira tiptoed over to the ball, half-expecting Misty to come out and start beating her with her mallet. She picked the Bish ball gently, staring as if unable to believe was really there. Suddenly she let out a loud whoop.

"I DID IT!" she cried with a huge smile."I actually did it! I caught a Misty!" Here she stopped. "Though, actually I would have preferred to capture a Bishounen, but oh well. Misty is my favorite Pokemon character after all." She lifted the ball, about to throw it, when she paused. She looked at the Bish ball thoughtfully. "I wonder..." she thought aloud. "This 'would' be the perfect Bishi to say it with, so I suppose..." Suddenly she nodded, her mind made up. "Okay, here goes. I choose you, Misty!" She threw the Bish ball into the air and, in a flash of light, out came Misty. A rather annoyed Misty.

"What kind of a capture was that?" she exclaimed.

"Huh?" Kamira blinked.

Yay! I got a Bishi! And yes, Misty is my favorite Pokemon character in real life. I know this is a short chapter and many of my future chapters will also be short probably, but on the plus side I'll be able to get out faster.
