The last couple of days had not been the best for the tired half-breed. There were problems with the next issue coming out for his self titled manga, the woman that was drawing it was sick and might not get it finished on time. 500 years since Naraku's defeat, everything him and his friends had done nothing more than something that kids read in an attempt to `escape reality'. I'd like to see them go through hordes of demons trying to kill them and a half brother that wants nothing more that to see you die. Next problem was that the company that he owned was behind schedule on their newest project and now it seemed that it wouldn't be on market for another six months to a year. This meant a shit load of angry people.
And then there was what happened last night. If it wasn't for the fact that they had been in a full casino he would have killed the damn wolf where he stood. But instead of doing what he wanted, he did his best to run away. At least until he ran into some girl as he tried to make his escape. She even yelled at him.... until she saw his ears and freaked out. And guessing by the way she reacted she must have watched the anime.
He even tried to calm her down when he realized that his hat had fallen off, but then they came. When she called out his name, he had frozen up. And then the wolf had to say, “Looks like the stupid half-breed blew his cover already.” When he had turned around to yell something back at him, the girl had chosen that moment to completely freak out and kicked his legs out from under him. Dazed, he looked up and watched as the girl ran off. Guess I deserved that one... When he finally picked himself up off the floor, he left the casino as fast as he could, ignoring the calls for him to stop.
He would have gone back to Japan, but his `brother' threatened to gut him, leave in the cold and have someone flick wasabe paste into the wound until he gave up. And having seen him use this before, Inu Yasha decided to stay. Besides, they had to tell Kevin that the problem they encountered oh so many years ago was finally here.

“I swear to god Roxxane, it was him!!!!” Jessica exclaimed as they walked to the casino. Jessica had been telling her sister and brother what had happened the night before as they walked to the casino to meet their mom for dinner. “It was Inu Yasha! He had white hair down to his ass, yellow eyes and freakin' dog ears coming outta the top of his head!” She waved her arms around, trying to make her point when the bag she was holding hit her in the head, stopping her from continuing for a moment.
Roxxane on the other hand was having a hard time believing that her older sister had come in contact with not one, but three cartoon characters. “Are you sure you weren't imaging it? Or that the guy was just dressed up as him?”
“It was! After he knocked me down he called me a bitch. Then Kagome and Koga came running up and said something in Japanese....”
“Which was?” her father asked in a sarcastic voice. Strangely enough, he didn't say anything that said he doubted what she said was true or not.
“You know I don't really understand Japanese! And for your information, the only thing I did understand was him calling Inu Yasha a `stupid half-breed',” she said matter-of fact tone.
“Wow!!!! You saw Koga!!!!” Kevin, the youngest of the three kids, yelled out in awe. Koga was his favorite character in the show.
“What's a half-breed?”
“Inu Yasha is half dog demon and half human.... demons don't normally like half demons, which is why Koga called him that, because he's a full wolf demon and all,” after a moment of thought, Jessica continued, “Well, that and they both have a thing for Kagome.”
“And you just sat there as the two of them yelled at each other?” her dad asked.
Embarrassed, she stuttered, “W-w-well.... no. I kind-of freaked out and when they started yelling I yelled out `Holy crap! Cartoon characters are attacking us' and kicked his legs out from under him....”
“Wow.”
“Dude....”
Her father, seemingly ignoring her cursing, only said, “And why did you do that?”
“I panicked! It was the first thing I could think of, so I did it and ran off before anyone could stop me! Then I left the casino through the back entrance so that they would catch me......” Jessica looked down at the ground, too embarrassed to face her family.
“Well, I think you handled it pretty good. If anyone else had seen that they'd probably would have called the cops or something. I mean, I know I would have,” Roxxane said, obviously trying to make her sister feel a little better over the whole thing.
“You mean you believe me?”
“Dad hasn't said that you're completely insane and need to see a doctor yet, so that has to mean something.”
“Thanks.... I think...”
“You know I can hear you right?” He called from a few paces ahead.

It was almost 5:20pm when Inu Yasha finally dragged himself to the casino. He knew that if he didn't show up Sesshoumaru would hunt him down, so he had no choice but to come. I thought when you get dumped you get time to get over it..... Inu Yasha thought to himself as he walked through the doors. Making his way through the casino floor, he finally caught sight of his brother and his mate waiting for him at the restaurant that they were going to meet Kevin at.
And there she stood, worry drawn across her face. Kagome.... Inu Yasha had to fight not to turn around and leave as fast as he could. When he finally reached them, he stood a ways from the two of them, somewhere closer to his brother than he would have liked.
“`Bout time you showed up!” Koga said, his arms crossed over his chest.
“You have no reason to be here to begin with wolf, so mind your tongue if you do not want to lose it,” Sesshoumaru warned. “This has nothing to do with either of you.”
Kagome looked down at her feet, as if she was looking for an answer to her problems in her shoes. She looked and started, “Inu Yasha....”
“Human, you made your choice, now live with it. He and I have problems that must be dealt with now, without you interfering,” Sesshoumaru stated, he had no need for his brother problems right now.
“What the hell is happening if you two are worried about it?” Koga asked; pissed that he had no idea what was going on. “And you have a human woman too, so don't call Kagome that!”
“You will find out should the need arises, until then you'll stay out of the way,” he stated coldly, completely ignoring the wolf's outrage over his human comment.
“But if you just told us what was going on, we could help!” Kagome pleaded. She feel the oncoming danger, but the only people that seemed to know what was going on was the two brothers. “Rin, please talk to him!”
Rin instead looked passed a group of people that had walked by and exclaimed, “Oh look! Kevin's here!” She didn't move to greet him and get away from the fighting; it would have been hard with a two year old clinging to her leg.
Inu Yasha looked over from the spot he had his gaze on. Kevin had changed over the years since they had last seen him. No longer twenty-something, he had gotten bigger, but even at a distance he could see it was still all muscle. And where there were only a few tattoos that decorated him, it was now hard to find a place on him that didn't. The only other change was that his brown hair now had grey on both sides of his head, but he was going grey when he had first met him.
Sesshoumaru strode out and greeted Kevin as he came to a stop. “Kevin.”
Kevin looked at him with a hard look, but gave a hint of a smile. Bowing to him, Kevin said to him, “Sesshoumaru, I see you haven't changed at all. Demons have all the luck.”
“Hmm, and you've gotten old,” Sesshoumaru answered, not denying Kevin's comment about demons. Up until now everyone was speaking Japanese, but since Sesshoumaru and Inu Yasha do business in the US, both of them speak English too. It helps that they had about a hundred years to get a hang of the language. “Who was the one that answered the phone?”
“Roxxane, I have her screen my phone calls so I don't have to hear the people here bitch and complain.” Kevin looked over at the large group of people and noticed Inu Yasha. “Ah! I see you brought the mutt with you,” he exclaimed loudly. Inu Yasha growled at him as the man laughed at him like he was just some puppy.
Kagome and Koga watched as Sesshoumaru and Kevin talked like they were friends, which was strange since Kevin was very human and though he had married a human himself, his opinion of them didn't get much better over the years. If fact, unless the person proved to be more than a walking meat sack, there was a good chance that Sesshoumaru felt that you were better off dead.
Rin, seeing their confusion explained, “About twenty years ago, they met in San Francisco. Kevin was fighting a demon that had killed many human to the point that others were beginning to become curious of what was killing them. Even demons were having a hard time just trying to find it. So demons in the city had asked Sesshoumaru to kill it, but by the time that he had gotten there the demon was dead. Kevin should have been dead too, but somehow he had gotten up and walked away. A few days later he found Kevin working in a restaurant, injuries and all. After a very heated argument they had a few drinks and this,” motioning to the two of them, “was the result.”
Heated my ass.... I heard that they almost destroyed the place.... Inu Yasha thought.
“What were they arguing over?” Kagome asked.
Rin giggled, like it was some great joke that she had heard a million times. “Over who's job it was to kill it.”
“Where is the oldest?” Sesshoumaru asked Kevin, both of them doing their best to ignore the fact that everyone was talking about them [Kevin knew it had to be how they had met.... people always thought it was strange how they talked.].
“With the rest of the family. Strangest thing though,” he started, “she was telling me how as she was getting off work last night some ran right into her and called her a bitch....” Inu Yasha froze at the mention of it. No way it could have been her.... he kept thinking as Kevin continued, “Said it was a cartoon character.... with white hair and ears.”
Sesshoumaru turned his head and glared at Inu Yasha, who was trying to look as innocent as possible. Kagome had paled a bit when she realized what they were talking about; Koga had no idea since he didn't speak English anyway. “Is that so...”
“Yeah, but here's the best part. Then two other people showed up and she freaked out. Ended up kicking the legs out from under the one guy and ran off before anyone could stop her,” Kevin laughed. He thought it was funny himself, but by the look on the demon in front of him it seemed that no one had told him that anything had happened.
“What the hell is he saying that has him so pissed?” Koga asked Kagome since he knew that she understood what was going on.
Kagome gulped and answer, “The girl Inu Yasha ran into last night was his daughter!”
“Ah! Here they come now.”

I'm ending the chapter here.... it was getting too long, so I cut into two parts. Got that idea from a book I was reading. Was finally getting into the story and suddenly it stops and there's this note from the author and said the book was getting too long so he stopped at there right before the good stuff.
I forgot something in the last chapter. When I said it was my Friday, I meant it was the end of my working week, which is really Monday. Don't ask why.... the casino is really screwed up that way.
And a note for the flamers [ff.net], I don't care. I haven't written something in two years or something like that, so I'm gonna keep writing this no matter what!
See ya next chapter!
