Longing

Somehow you can see inside.

There is nothing that I can hide.

You know why I'm always sad.

You know why my past is bad.

From a distance I'll always watch.

Their new life I don't want to botch.

She'll never know what she is to me.

My own sister I'm not allowed to see.

Sad music I make to ease my pain,

But permanently in my mind she's stained.

I know that she listens; I know she can hear.

But I do not want her to know my fear.

You've tried to help me in so many ways.

I thank you, even though emptiness stays.

Maybe one day she will know

Of the feelings I cannot show.

Maybe one day we'll be siblings again.

Then the three of us can be best friends.
