They came back after the attack and had a looked of awe on their faces.

 

“Girls?” Said Ranma, “what happened?”

 

So they told him, “so you were helped out by phoenixes?” They nodded, “Happosai's got more power, if it comes down it. We are going to have to enlist their help. Okay, you guys get some rest.”

 

So they do, later Ranma had just got out of the shower and was drying off with a towel and had boxers on. He walked pasted Mercury's room and saw that she was looking out the window at the moon. He politely knocked and entered. She was in a small light blue nightgown. She looked over and saw Ranma.

 

“Hello, Ranma.” She said, “What's up?”

 

“You tell me Ami.” He said, “love sick?”

 

She blushed and slowly nodded, “it's this new guy. The blond, I know I've seen him somewhere before and I was in love with him.”

 

“Hmm, I see.” He said, “what else?”

 

“Well, his fighting skills were amazing.” She said, Ranma nodded and kissed her on the forehead.

 

“You get some rest and I'll see you in the morning.” He said and he left then he went to his room and went to bed thinking about what Ami had told him.

 

`Phoenixes huh?' With that he feel asleep.

 

-Dream sequence -

 

Ranma was in his full dragon form; he was 35 feet long with a wingspan of 20 feet. He was scaled in green and gold. He was flying across the countryside enjoying himself; just then there was a huge flare it was in the shape of a phoenix.

 

<What the? > He said, the flare was burning in front of him and spoke to him.

 

{You must be the Great Dragon God of the West, are you not?} The voice said in a heavenly female voice.

 

<I am who are you? >

 

{I am the Magnificent Phoenix Goddess of the East.} She spread out her wings.

 

<Nice to meet you, uh do you mind if we go human to talk? >

 

{Why no I don't mind.}

 

So they both flew and landed on a grassy hill with dandy lions covering it. Ranma transformed in to his banded collar tuxedo and the Phoenix transformed into a tall, beautiful, blond- going platinum haired young woman in a white gown with a huge silver phoenix on it.

 

Ranma was amazed by what he saw, a table was formed in between them and there was a teapot on the table and he poured it for the both of them.

 

<I'm Ranma Saotome, well at least my human name. >

 

She giggled, {it's nice to finally meet you Mr. Saotome, I'm Usagi Tsukino.}

 

They shook hand and started to talk about what is going on and that he needed her help.

 

{Mr. Saotome, uh Ranma. I know you need my help and you shall have it. Not because I want a piece of him too, not because that as a woman I feel obligated to do it, not because I think you are so cute which I do by the way. But, it's the right thing to do.}

 

Ranma blushed at the cute remark and smiled. <Thank you Usagi, thank you for your help. >

 

{So when do I get to meet you when we're awake?}

 

So he tells her to go to his tea-shoppe and ask for him. She said that she would.

 

The next morning, the Shoppe was in full swing and everyone was having a good time. Just then something was playing and the servers were singing and dancing. Then Usagi came in and saw what was going on. She giggled and just watched, and then someone was speaking to her.

 

“I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention.” She said as she looked at the person that was talking to her, once she saw Ami tear started to form in her eyes and fall softly. “Oh my god.” Then she hugged her tightly, “I missed you so much.”

 

Ami was confused as she was being and her shoulder cried on. All she could do was try and comfort the girl. “It's alright, I'm here now.” She said and waved over to Nabiki for help.

 

Nabiki was watching the other dance and sing, she laughed as Kanna had dipped Sumrie and accidentally hit her head on the counter. Then she saw Ami waving at her and she went over to her friend.

 

“Could you help me with her?” She said Nabiki nodded and asked what happened. Ami told her that she just broke down and cried. She sat with her and handed Usagi a napkin to dry her eyes.

 

“Are you alright?”

 

“Yes, I'm fine. Sniff, I'm here to see Ranma Saotome.”

 

“I'll go and see if I can get him for you.” Said Ami, so she left to search for Ranma who was in his office at the time being. “Ranma, a Usagi Tsukino is here to talk to you.”

 

“Thank you Ami.” He walked out and was in a banded shirt, slacks, a vest and boots. He walked over to the beautiful blond and bowed to her. “Hello, I'm Ranma Saotome. You must be Usagi Tsukino.” She nodded, he sat down and they talked. “Ami tells me that you took one look at her and started crying. You had a friend that looked like her?”

 

She nodded and told him that she died trying to protect her. Ranma lowered his head a little. “I know the feeling, you feel like that her death was your fault?” He said she nodded. “You constantly blame yourself over what happened? Your worse nightmares were those of you friends drying because of your orders?” He started to cry, Nabiki looked over to him in shock.

 

“Knowing that it was your fault and ordered them to their deaths even though they try to calm you down by saying: `I wouldn't change a thing. Because I love you or you're my best friend or you are highly important to me'.” He started to wipe his eyes, “I've spent many sleepless nights about that. I just can't forgive myself over what happened.” Nabiki stroked his hair trying to calm him down. Usagi looked at Ranma and gave him a big hug.

 

Later as Ranma and Usagi started talking, Nabiki went to Honey and started to ask some questions about what happened that broke Ranma down like that. “It happened around a few years ago before we came back here.” She said and she told Nabiki the story.
