Chapter One: A Visit to Her Past.

 

Arya stood there shivering, waiting for a bus to Los Angeles. She felt someone wrap his arm around her waist and she pushed him away. The last thing she needed was another guy thinking he could have her. "Relax, Kitty-Kat," the voice said. Whoever he was he didn't know her. "Are you okay? You were shivering," the voice said with concern in his voice.

"Of course I was shivering its 40 degrees," Arya said not in the mood for some dumb baka (idiot) faking sympathy," You can leave anytime now." "Not until I'm sure you're okay. You shouldn't be in California this late at night by yourself," he said, once again the concern crept into his voice. God is this guy for real? 'You shouldn't be in California this late at night by yourself.' Does he think I'll fall for that? If so he's crazier than I gave him credit for, Arya thought.

"Are you saying I need you to protect me? If so, I can protect myself," Arya said. There was no mistaking the outrage in her voice. Thankfully the bus came and she got on, not bothering to say goodbye to the guy. The guy got on also. His purple hair looked black in the dim light in the bus. He was past decent looking and she couldn't help but stare at him. She wasn't the only girl staring. All the girls on the bus were looking at him. Even the ones with a boyfriend.

He sat next to Arya too. "Oh my gosh! It's the Phantom Thief Dark!" one of the girls exclaimed. Arya looked at Dark curiously and asked," You're the Phantom Thief Dark?" "I was hoping no one would notice me," he confessed," And I thought if I laid low for a while they'd forget me." Her mind spinning she thought about what she had just learned. I just argued with the Phantom Thief Dark and he even touched me. Great! According to Riku, Dark's the most perverted guy in the world. And I'm sitting next to him! This so sucks!!! I hate popular people. Although, he gets one point for being hot.

The bus stopped in Los Angeles and she got off. Dark got off too. "Do you always stalk girls? I mean, isn't that what you're famous for, according to Riku it is," she said continuing to walk. "You know Riku?" Dark asked. "Yeah, she's one of my best friends," she replied. "Then, you know Daisuke Niwa also. Right?" Dark asked. "Of course. He's only the cutest boy in our grade," she said. She hated the fact that she had just told Dark a lot about herself.

Dark and Daisuke were actually the same person but she didn't know that. Daisuke blushed. Luckily for Daisuke, Dark was in control. She continued walking down the street. The wind picked up and she shivered. Dark, wondering how she would react, took off his jacket and put it on her shoulders. He was hot anyways even though all he wore was a vest. She handed him his jacket back but he just put it back on her shoulders.

Dark, hoping she wouldn't mind, put his arm around Arya's waist. Unfortunately, Riku was walking by right then. Arya hoped Riku wouldn't recognize her. Unfortunately Riku did. "Arya?" Riku asked. "Is that your name?" Dark asked looking at her with a curious look. Arya didn't exactly look forward to how she will explain this. "Uh...hi," she said. "What are you doing with that pervert?" Riku asked emphasizing on the word 'pervert.'

"I'm just walking her home. Is that a crime?" Dark asked. "It is when it's you," Riku said in an accusing voice. "Riku it's okay. He's just walking me home. He was worried something would happen to me and he decided to walk me home," Arya said. "Whatever, Kit," Riku said continuing to walk. Her reddish-brown shoulder-length hair blowing in the wind behind her. She turned her head giving Arya a worried glance. Arya looked into Riku's brown eyes before Riku turned around. Riku always acted like Arya's older sister.

Arya is 13 and is in the same grade as 14-year old Daisuke Niwa and 14-year old Riku Harada. She started the 8th grade a year earlier than she was supposed to. She has long dark blue straight hair with black streaks. She hates popular people like Riku's twin sister Risa and Dark. She's a rebel and enjoys showing it. She has green eyes and has her tongue and belly button pierced. The only people who didn't have piercings in California were Riku, Risa, and Daisuke didn't have piercings. She has a tattoo of a black heart surrounded by red glow-in-the-dark flames on her lower back. She usually wears reds, blues, and blacks.

She is wearing a red halter-top that comes just below her breasts and a leather mini-skirt that comes about 6 inches below her waist. Did I mention she's a half cat demon/half a black elf and she has cute black kitty ears on the top of her head and a long black kitty tail? She can also transform into a black cat anytime she wants. Any guy can get her to transform back into a human by kissing her when she's in her cat form. Arya had a bad break-up a year ago and now she doesn't like guys other than Daisuke who she has a crush on. She also skips school frequently.

Arya has a rebel personality. She loves to stand up for what she believes in and is always walking out of the class whenever she wants. No matter how much trouble she gets in she still acts that way. Eventually the teachers will figure this out. She gets sent to the office every day and since they can't call her parents she can't get grounded. She has no restrictions at home because her parents are in the future. She traveled to the past to get away from them. Arya lives by herself and does whatever she wants when she wants since the only person she listens to is Daisuke and he is too easy to get off her case. She can go to clubs, or drink, or do whatever. All the kids in her class envy her for living by herself. She also flirts with guys but never goes out with them

Dark is 17 and doesn't go to school because of his job as a thief. Whenever Arya's teacher is absent he subs for Arya's class. She's always skipping when he subs though. He has dark violet hair and violet eyes. He keeps his bangs long and in his face. He has each ear pierced three times. He wears black usually. He is wearing a black vest and black pants. He isn't human and he actually is an artwork that came to life. He has black wings when he wants to. He flirts with any cute girls and he kisses any girl. Anytime he sees a girl in trouble he helps her.

Daisuke is 14 and is in Arya's class. He has a crush on Riku and on Arya. He's just afraid to ask one of them out. He tries to talk Arya out of doing things. He tries to tell her not to skip class, go to clubs, drink, or walk out of class but she usually doesn't listen. He's basically the good little boy who does what people tell him, except for the fact that he's the Phantom Thief Dark in a way. He has red hair that spikes up everywhere. He also has red eyes.

Arya and Dark continued to walk. "Where do you live at?" Dark asked. "About three miles straight from here and then another mile to the left," she said hoping that would get Dark to go away. "How about we fly there?" Dark asked. "Huh?" Arya asked a little confused. He picked her up and his wings appeared and he started to fly. "Just tell me when we get to your house. 'Kay?" he asked. "'Kay," she nodded. About five minutes later Arya spotted her house. "It's right there," she said pointing.

He flew to the house and landed on the doorstep. He set her down on her feet. Then he kissed her on the lips, surprising Arya. Yet she surprised him by kissing him back. She pulled away about 5 seconds later. He asked," What happened to not liking me?" "I didn't say that I didn't like you. Secondly, that's for your tamer Daisuke, not you. Although you are hot. Do me a favor and don't go denying it. Its obvious Daisuke's your tamer. This is for you," she said before once again surprising Dark by kissing him on the lips. She pulled away but he kissed her again. Dark, quit it! She doesn't need a soon to be 18-year old boyfriend. She's already bad enough. Dark! Are you listening? Daisuke thought making Dark hear him.

You have a soft spot for Kitty-Kat here. How about I don't let you out ever again and I date her? Huh? Now be quiet we're just having a little fun, Dark mentally told Daisuke. Arya pulled away and Dark didn't kiss her back this time. They were both a little out of breath. After catching his breath Dark smiled at her and asked," Aren't you gonna get in trouble for being out until 1 in the morning?" Arya replied," There isn't anyone to get mad at me. Besides I'm 13, I should be allowed to do what I want."

“What happened to your parents? You're only 13? Aren't you a little young to live by yourself?” Dark asked. “I have the ability to travel in time and they're in the future. I came back here so I could get away from them. They set too many rules even though they're both thieves and they never listen to rules themselves. In this time they're only 15 so they won't believe I'm their daughter. Yes I'm 13 about to turn 14 and no I'm not too young to live by myself,” Arya replied. She was tired of people saying she was too young! She hated it!!! “I guess you're too young for me. I'm about to turn 18. Although, I wouldn't mind dating you. That is if you want me to,” Dark said. Before she could reply Daisuke took over from Dark so she couldn't say yes. Daisuke wasn't going to let her.

“Dai! Why'd you do that?! I was just asked to date the Phantom Thief Dark and you had to take over!!! You're so mean to me!!! I mean, who cares if he's about to be an adult and I'm just a young teen?” Arya asked a bit annoyed at Daisuke. “You can't date an 18-year old! It's against the law! Besides Dark's a pervert!!! Ask anyone! Well anyone except Risa!” Daisuke said trying to convince Arya. Arya wasn't paying attention she was looking behind Daisuke at a familiar face she didn't exactly want to see.

“Seiya what are you doing here?! You have a new mom now!” she exclaimed. Seiya replied,” I don't like her. She calls me a brat! And she wants daddy to get rid of me.” “Huh?” Daisuke asked looking confused at Arya,” You have a son?!” “Um…yes. I wasn't expecting to see him this soon,” she admitted not looking into Daisuke's eyes. “Mommy! I ran away and now daddy's gonna hurt me if he finds me!!!” Seiya exclaimed nervously. Seiya ran to Arya and clung to her leg. He started crying. “It's okay, Seiya. It's okay,” Arya said trying to comfort the crying child.
