The first thing that Daisuke Niwa felt when he got up that morning was an intense cold that sent shivers down his spine. Sighing, he dressed into a loose, turtleneck white sweatshirt and loose, beige sweatpants.

 

`Duh it's cold!' He thought to himself, `It's still practically winter…' Although, that was just for Daisuke to force himself that it wasn't the fact that his alter ego wasn't around anymore. That was all talk from Daisuke. Fact is that Daisuke desperately wanted that annoying alter ego back. Of course, he told himself that so he wouldn't go insane with the unbearable loneliness he felt in his heart. Daisuke put his shoes on and headed out the door.

 

Without a soul my spirit's

Sleeping somewhere cold

Until you find it there and lead it

Back home

 

As soon as Daisuke walked out the door, the cold sensation came back ten-fold. Shivering, he hugged himself to try to keep warm, moving his hands up and down his arms. Daisuke then made his way to the park, where he would always go to distract himself from his partner's leaving.

 

When he reached the park, he went over to a tree that was isolated from all of the people in the park and climbed to a branch that was located in the middle of the tree, about a good 20 feet from the ground. Daisuke then took out his sketchpad from the bag he had brought.

 

Unconsciously, Daisuke was drawing his partner next to a lake with a full moon that looked as though it was rising out of the lake. Looking down at the now complete picture, save for the color, Daisuke couldn't help but let a lone tear roll down his cheek and drop onto the figure.

 

(Wake me up) Wake me up inside

Daisuke looked up at the sky, black rain clouds signaling that a storm was fast approaching but he couldn't have cared less if a tornado struck. He sat there in perfect silence, watching the clouds rolling in to bring in the storm.

 

Now that I know what I'm without

You can't just leave me

Breath into me and

Make me real

Bring me to life

 

`I miss him too much,' Daisuke thought, `It hurts just thinking about it…' He gripped the place where his heart would be. Daisuke then put the sketchbook away and resumed his silent watching of the sky. `Why'd you leave? I realize now that I didn't truly love Riku…' An onslaught of tears poured down from his ruby eyes. Soon, Daisuke's tears were mingling with the rain of the storm, the thunder sounding his screams of agony and loneliness for him. Even when the lightning had almost struck the tree he was in, Daisuke still didn't move.

Soon, Daisuke felt the darkness trying to take him from consciousness. He willingly let the darkness take over and Daisuke was asleep. Of course, he couldn't really lose the feeling of coldness.

 

Uncaring, Daisuke continued to sleep, even as a shadowed figure appeared on the branch next to his, looking at the sleeping teen. The figured smiled warmly at Daisuke, its purple eyes sparkling.

 

Frozen inside without your touch

Without your love, darling

Only you are the life

Among the dead

 

Daisuke then felt a warm feeling on his hand, also a gentle yet firm pressure on said hand. The touch seemed to also warm his whole body up as well. Ruby eyes fluttered open and looked right into a familiar pair of amethyst eyes.

 

All of this time I can't believe

I couldn't see

Kept in the dark

But there you were in front of me

 

I've been sleeping a thousand years

It seems

Got to open my eyes

To everything

 

Without a thought

Without a voice

Without a soul

Don't let me die here

Bring me to life

 

Daisuke's eyes widened when he saw those amethyst eyes. He was so stunned that he couldn't move. The person smiled when he saw Daisuke's reaction.

 

“Long time no see,” The person said to Daisuke.

 

“D-Dark!”

 

(Wake me up) Wake me up inside

(I can't wake up) Wake me up inside

(Save me) Call my name

and save me from the dark

 

Daisuke's wet hair clung to his face, more tears falling from his ruby eyes. Dark saw the tears and wiped them away with his thumb. Before Dark could say anything, Daisuke then embraced the purple haired teen, as though he would disappear again.

 

*Insert a good kissing scene here*
