Her first symptom is seizures, starting at the age of five. She wakes up feeling stiff and has dizziness and sensitive joints. About a year after her first seizure, cold extremities are added to the list of symptoms. The doctors can’t find anything, so they keep digging. It isn’t until she’s seven that they figure out what’s ailing her: a prohibitively rare disease that only one other child in the world has. The doctors say they can only manage her symptoms as the disease progresses. There is no cure.

At age eleven, things start not working right. It begins with her legs (as seen in the previous short). They slowly lose strength until she is wheelchair-bound. Then her organs start shutting down, slowly but surely. After three years, her body can’t handle it anymore, and she goes into a coma. Her parents are told she will never wake.

However, a strange man appears, claiming his brother died of the same disease. He has been working on a cure ever since. He offers it to Eleanor and Parley, and they take the chance to heal their daughter. The cure works, and Chelsea wakes the very next day. What they don’t know is that she’s now half ghost.
