Teacher's Pet

Disclaimer: The characters of Demon Diary do not belong to me. This is a purely non-profit story written for entertainment purposes (*snicker*) only.

Summary: Sequel to Lesson Plans. Raenef is back to normal, and everyone's happy. But how will Eclipse deal with the situation when Raenef seeks him out to tell him that he didn't really forget *everything*?

WARNING: Major spoilers for the 4th and 5th books. If you haven't read them yet (what's wrong with you?!) and don't want me to spoil it for you, then DO NOT READ ANYTHING BEYOND THIS POINT.

Author's Notes: Yay, I'm writing the sequel! This is, of course, a yaoi/slash/shounen ai story. If you don't know what that means, you probably should find out before you read on. I decided to make this a chaptered story since I didn't want to cram it all into one big thing. This will probably be a 2-part, unless I suddenly have a burst of inspiration in which it may be a chapter longer. If you haven't read Lesson Plans, I don't think you really need to. You just have to know that while Raenef was all evil he and Eclipse did certain things (*ahem*), and now he's back to normal claiming he doesn't remember a thing. Which, for the extents and purposes of this story, is, of course, a LIE. If you want this to coincide with the manga, this happens before noon and the whole fiasco. If you don't give a damn, power to you.

There will be a lemon in the next chapter, so don't worry if you read this and are afraid that I'm going to cut it short^_^. All in good time.

Chapter 1

Eclipse, demon of the Third Order and the fourth ranking demon in existence, sat calculating the castle's expenses for the month behind tall piles of paper. It was a dull and tedious half hour later when he finally finished, sighing in defeat when he realized that they had once again gone over budget due to the extra mouths to feed. It was all very hopeless; by all means, they could manage to make ends meet with this new arrangement. But a Demon Lord keeping two humans in his castle and letting them live off of him was ridiculous. If they spared every mortal who tried to kill Raenef, they'd never have enough money to feed them all!

This last thought made him think again of his little master, and of its own accord his mind wandered back to pondering the events of the morning.

//"Aw man, I sure wish Raenef would snap out of it." The words had just left Erutis's mouth when in walked said Demon Lord, yawning cutely and looking perfectly himself.

"For some reason, I'm still sleepy. Heh heh… good morning, everyone!"//

A small smile once again touched his lips, but he caught himself in time to not be found grinning broadly for all to see. Damn it, that was becoming a bad habit. He was definitely smiling too often. Demons did not smile. Well, not in happiness anyways. Well, not in happiness over their Demon Lords. One could smile in happiness for their Demon Lord's latest massacre, but not for the Demon Lord themselves. Especially not in happiness over their Demon Lord returning to his most un-demon-like state. And especially not in happiness over how cute one's liege looked, or adorable, or cuddly, or…

//Stop!// he had to yell to himself. //What are you thinking? And… CUDDLY? ADORABLE? When did you pick up those atrocious words!?//

As if to torment him, his mind replied, //And definitely not over the fact that one is having nightly benefits from the whole thing…//

Eclipse merely had to hang his head in shame. This was becoming a daily occurrence along with the smiling, this doubting of his sanity and the inner monologues inside his head. All this had come with Raenef. *Lord* Raenef, he reminded himself.

"I'll do my best not to embarrass you this time."

His master's voice and the image of his sweet smile drifted into his head. Thank goodness they weren't invited to that meeting. At the rate he was going, he wouldn't need to worry about Lord Raenef embarrassing him; he'd probably have to focus more on not embarrassing himself! Being in a crowded room full of Demon Lords who could read minds when he was having these inappropriate thoughts was not something he'd enjoy.

He was rather glad his master was back to his former self, and most certainly glad he remembered nothing of the night before. Although the 'other' Raenef had given him everything he had hoped for in all his wildest dreams, it didn't feel right to do that to his Raenef, the innocent one who probably didn't even know what sex was. He really couldn't imagine Raenef murdering innocents and controlling him the way he had the previous night. In fact, he really couldn't imagine Raenef any other way except innocent. Unless he had witnessed it for himself, he never would've believed that his little lord could act the way he had the previous day. He had not liked it. Hadn't liked it one bit. Well… maybe one little bit of it…

Out of the blue, his own words from before drifted back to him, haunting in its stark deceit.

"Master Raenef is Master Raenef… regardless of his relative charms."

And how untrue it was.

In all his time at the castle, he didn't think he had ever appreciated it as fully as he did now. Somehow the dreary walls seemed filled with life, the closed doors inviting, and the pervasive gloom that had once occupied the place had dispersed altogether. He pondered this thought while walking along row upon row of books. Never had this library given him a sense of peace.

As he sat poring over a particularly large volume of ancient demon history, a soft knock sounded at the library door.

"Come in," he said neutrally.

A blond head poked shyly in through the small opening. He didn't know who he had been expecting, but it was definitely not his liege. Although, had he thought about it, he would've realized that there really wasn't anyone else whom he should've expected.

"I'm sorry, Eclipse, am I bothering you?" Raenef asked, looking adorable with his apologetic eyes.

"Not at all, Master Raenef," Eclipse replied, marking his place in the book and putting it down in the desk in front of him. "And a Demon Lord never apologizes."

"Right," Raenef said, flushing with embarrassment that he had once again forgotten a rule of demon etiquette. Luckily, he was not left to dwell on his error for long.

"Did you wish to speak to me, my lord?"

Raenef snapped out of his embarrassed haze and looked shyly up at Eclipse, his cheeks slightly pink.

"I have a question to ask you…"

There was an awkward silence in which Raenef shifted uncomfortably.

"Master Raenef?" Eclipse questioned, unsure of what made his lord so uncomfortable and also unsure whether or not he wanted to find out.

"Eclipse," he said at last, eyes downcast, "if I want something, I should just take it, right?"

"Yes, that would be the proper behaviour of a Demon Lord."

"So I should just take it without asking and without any consideration of anyone else's feelings?"

"Objects can be easily replaced, Lord Raenef, and any sentimentality associated with them can be just as easily discarded," he replied hesitantly, not sure whether he should be ecstatic over the fact that his liege was finally exhibiting proper Demon Lord behaviour, or uneasy because he didn't know what it was his master could desire…

"Well, see… that's the thing," Raenef's pale cheeks turned a brighter shade of red, his long eyelashes framing his eyes beautifully as he still refused to look up. "I don't want an object, exactly. It's more like a… person."

Eclipse had to stop a very speedy train of bad thoughts from entering his mind. Not entering, per se, but stopping at the station and never leaving again. Oh, if only he knew…

But out loud, he forced his constricted throat to say, "The conditions remain the same. You may have whatever and whomever you wish if you take them by force."

"On your knees, Eclipse."

//Choo choo.//

//Oh, bite me.//

//Interesting thought.//

//SHUT UP.//

"Uh… Eclipse? Are you okay?" Raenef asked, on his tiptoes and peering innocently into Eclipse's face with his nose only mere centimetres away from a very flustered demon.

"Of course, my lord. Was there anything else you wished to ask?"

"Well," he said, moving his face away and standing in a normal position, hand on chin, "would it still be a good idea for me to 'take' this person if they're in a… uh… high social standing?"

He was starting to get a bad feeling of where this conversation was going. High social status? Oh god, he hoped Master Raenef wasn't talking about that pink monstrosity, Leeche or whatever her name was…

"It should not be a factor in your decision, my lord. After you claim them, you can convert them into your servant and then they would have to submit to your will."

"A servant must obey all my commands?"

"Yes. The first clause of chapter one of the Book of Rules and Regulations of the Order of Demons, Volume 1 states that all demons under the servitude of a Demon Lord must obey all of his or her commands explicitly, regardless of what repercussions they may pertain."

A hint of a seductive smirk played on the corners of Raenef's lips. "Ah. So you did remember my lesson after all…"

It was said in the merest of whispers, but Eclipse's keen ears caught the sound. His eyes widened in shock, the scraping of the chair in which he had been sitting cutting through the quiet air. He had involuntarily and abruptly gotten to his feet, both hands placed on the table in front of him. "L-Lord Raenef?"

Had he just stuttered? Stuttered? Oh lord, what was he going to do now…

//That lord looks pretty yummy to me.// The voice in his mind supplied, along with some very enticing mental images…

A not-so-innocent smile touched the blond Demon Lord's lips.

"Well, you see, Eclipse, I didn't exactly forget everything…"

To be continued…
