Chapter Fifteen: Peace and Unity in the Digital World
Yamato and Taichi grinned as they walked into the Kaiser's air-borne base. They were frequent visitors here, and often came to stay on the weekends with Ken and Daisuke. The two younger boys still went home every morning for school, then came back every evening, staying in the Digital World on the weekends.
Everybody's parents knew of the arrangement and had given their children permission to travel back and forth, as long as they were home in time for school and their grades didn't suffer. Well, Daisuke's parents didn't particularly care one way or the other, but he still managed to improve his grades in school.
The younger Digidestined had opted to stay home this weekend. Apparently there was a party going on that they didn't want to miss. Not that Yamato or Taichi were complaining. Without their little siblings and friends around, the two older boys were able to access Daisuke and Ken much easier and didn't have to worry about cutting their visit short because the others were impatient.
It had taken the Digidestined nearly six months to work out what was happening, and to notice that not only were the two rulers not controlling the digimon, but that they had actually managed to unite most of the Digital World. The few spots that were separate from the rest of the world contained very lethal, very evil viruses, and Ken and Daisuke couldn't defend against them alone.
So they left the viruses alone as long as they stayed in their designated areas. Should they venture out of their area, the two boys would take care of them quickly and efficiently, sending their data to primary village to be reconstructed and reborn as vaccine-type digimon. After all, viruses were usually vaccines or neutral digimon types gone bad, so it made sense that reconfiguration would delete the virus without deleting its host.
The virus digimon in the northern part of the Digital World attempted to overwhelm the two boys with numbers, but that attack failed. Besides, the older Digidestined had been with him as well, so they could easily match two dozen virus-type digimon.
Their predecessors had been of great help in reintroducing the other children into the new regime in the Digital World. They took care to bring the younger Chosen to the world several times before they actually had permission to be there. Every time, before they were sent back to the Real World by Ken and Daisuke, they'd see another part of the Digital World under control of the two Kaisers. Eventually, they realized that the two boys were doing far more good than harm, and that the digimon worked with them willingly.
Once they finally understood that Ken and Dai weren't hurting the digimon, Yamato and Taichi brought them to the base where they spent the day talking with the two boys and trying to understand why they did what they did. They finally understood just how much they had hurt their friend, and they apologized and worked to atone for their actions.
Now it was Christmas, and Yamato and Taichi were visiting Ken and Daisuke for the holiday. Ken's parents had gone on a second honeymoon cruise, and so Ken had opted to stay in the Digital World with Dai while they were gone. The smaller boy was there simply because he saw reason to go home for the holidays.
Wandering up to the control room, they found Ken and Daisuke lounging in their thrones with their digimon partners on their laps. Both boys were rather flushed, and looked like they had spent most of the night celebrating. Fortunately, Yama and Tai had given them fair warning that they were coming for a visit, so they didn't receive any surprises when they arrived.
Grinning and sliding knowing looks to each other, Yamato and Taichi sidled up to the two boys, whose eyes were still shut, and pounced, tilting the thrones backwards and tackling the boys to the ground, where they proceeded to tickle them into submission.
Once Ken and Daisuke had surrendered, they sat around the control room talking about anything and everything. Apparently, Takeru and Hikari had finally gotten together and become `official', and Jyou and Miyako had gotten together, which surprised everyone, including themselves.
Several hours later, as Yamato and Taichi stood to head home, Taichi paused and grinned at them, asking, "Would you mind if Yama-chan and I stayed here for the night?" When the two boys just looked at him, eyebrows raised in inquiry, he flushed and murmured, "It's just that we both parents at home, and we haven't really had time to celebrate the holidays yet."
Daisuke giggled when the implications hit him, and Ken stifled a chuckle of his own. "Of course you can stay here the night………and as many nights as you'd like. We'll put you at the opposite end of the base from us, all right? That room can be yours for whenever you visit."
The two friends accepted the invitation readily and followed the younger children to their room. Once they had been shown where everything was and told to feel free to call upon any of the digimon in the base should they need anything, they were left to their own devices.
Of course, the Kaiser and his Consort had very much the same idea, and Daisuke hissed in his lover's ear, "They have the right idea. Are you ready to celebrate the holiday, koibito?" The Kaiser smirked and replied, "Of course, Dai-pet. I'm always ready." Giggling, they went to their room to do just that. Tomorrow they would deal with any threats to the Digital World, as well as the other Digidestined. Tonight, they had nothing on their mind but fun, fun, and more fun. Everything else could wait.
Author's Note: Yes, I know. I should have had this out AGES ago, but I started two other stories as well that I have to get done. I apologize greatly. Please review and let me know what you think, all right?
