Ladies and gentlemen...
Face is back. And in force.
Freed from obsession, I will now never be as strong as I was.
But I am back.
...
Takeru awoke slowly to a beautiful morning. He stayed nestled in the blankets of his bed. Sunlight played across his covers. Somewhere over the course of the night his ankles had extended over the edge of the bed. He pulled them back in with the rest of his body, clutching a pillow tighter. Life was good. Life was grand. Nothing plagued his thoughts or worries.
No, not one thing.
From the shadows of an alley, Myotusmon's children pondered their situation. They were scattered about, Ryo lying on his back across the lid of a dumpster, Ruki leaning against a wall, Takato and Juri sitting atop crates. Lee looked down on them from the first level of a fire escape.
"The master still has not appeared." Juri whispered, almost a hiss.
"Which means we're on our own, for now." Lee concluded.
"The question is what do we do?" Ryo continued.
"The answer is simple. We corrupt the DigiDestined." Ruki said.
"But how?" Takato asked.
"Their light... it is too bright, we can't even come close." Juri said.
"This is true." mused Ruki.
"The answer to that is also simple." Lee began to descend the steps from his perch.
"And what's that?"
"We extinguish the light."
Takeru sat next to the window at school, watching Hikari on the volleyball court. It was a nice volleyball court. She waved to him.
"Hikari Kamiya, keep your eye on the ball!"
BOP.
T.K. giggled.
"Class! Class!"
His teacher called them to order.
"I would like you to welcome our new student. Her name is Juri."
"...his name is Ryo."
Tai watched the new boy.
"Hey, Takato..."
Kari whispered to the new kid at the track...
"Her name is Ruki Nonaka..."
Yamato swept a lock of hair behind his ear. Cute girl. Not as cute as Sora...
"My name is Lee Wong." replied the boy. Yolei and Cody whispered to each other.
Each of Myotusmon's Children secretly kept their eyes on the Digidestined. Takato intentionally kept with the pack of runners. Juri watched T.K. from the back of the room. Lee pretended to not understand his teacher. Ryo's eyes focused on Taichi, sizing him up and assessing any potential abilities. Ruki felt Yamato's eyes on her, and did not discourage him. Instead, she focused on another.
They reconvened at lunch.
"Well, what now?" Takato started.
"Can you corrupt Kari?" Ryo asked.
"I can't get within six feet of her before the light begins to burn."
"Damn." Henry whispered.
"Juri?"
"Takeru emanates the same aura. I can't get close, either."
"Lee?"
"Two of them, but I can get close to them. Their light is not as blinding as what you've described. Still, it's bright enough that I could not corrupt them."
"Ruki? What about you?"
"I found a way to topple them."
"How?"
"A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. Even though we can't get close, these digidestined are like a string of Christmas lights. If we take down one, the rest will follow."
"Go on."
"Their weakest link is their dimmest light."
"Dimmest light? Stop talking in riddles!" Lee grumbled.
"His name is Ken Ichijoji. He emanates the same aura, one just like what I felt in another, but weaker. Much weaker. Great darkness dwells within him."
Ryo smiled.
"Perfect. It's not even a matter of corrupting him. It's simply returning him to the darkness from whence he came."
"Exactly."
"Ruki? Can you handle him?"
"Of course."
"Good. Let us know when it is finished. The rest of you, keep your eyes open."
"Right." They said in unison.
They scraped full trays of food into the garbage and went for their next class.
Ken walked to his next class, books under his arm. Advanced placement was hard. He was on the same grade level as Yamato and Taichi, but the classes at his age level were far too easy. Even these were beginning to bore him. He turned a corner, lost in his thoughts, and careened into a girl coming around the other side. Her books went everywhere.
"Oh, my, I'm sorry!" She cried, kneeling to pick them up. He joined her to help. They reached for the same piece of paper, and their hands brushed lightly. He blushed, but continued helping. After they stood again, he got his first good look at her.
"Thank you so much." She said, smiling.
"It's, ah, no problem."
"What's your name?"
"Um... Ken. You're the new girl, Ruki, right?"
"That's right. I'm looking for my next class..."
"Here, let me help you."
He walked with her, glad to be helping someone.
'Incredible. His light is dim enough that I can make a direct physical contact! However, bonding on the level I need will still be painful. I have to find his dark side. I have to find it, and bring it out again.
She caught him again after school.
"Hey!" She yelled, full of energy. He smiled at her, and she ran to catch up with him. After a few 'how are you's, she asked the fatal question:
"So, tell me about yourself."
"Well... I am a boy genius."
"It didn't take me long to learn that! Tell me something else! What's your greatest accomplishment?
"Once I... well, that's a bad example."
"What is?"
She held her books in front of her, portraying the very embodiment of innocence. He couldn't tell her about what he'd done, about himself as the Kaizer. Would she understand?
"Have you ever played Digimon?"
"No, I haven't."
"It's a game. On it, I took my character to the point of being an emperor."
"Were you a nice emperor?"
"Er... no..."
"It was just a game, though, right?"
"Right. And, anyway, the file was deleted. The Kaizer is gone."
So that was it. Power. He'd wanted power. The Kaizer, she felt, was soon to be reawakened.
Days passed. They continued to see each other. There were moments of tenderness. Moments of feeling. Moments of kindness. They sat together at lunch. During this time, their eyes met. Though this had happened before, something flashed between them. An acceptance.
Lee watched from the sidelines, his face a stony mask. Ryo elbowed him.
"Shouldn't you be jealous?"
"She loves me."
"That's what the Duke said.*" Piped Takato.
"Ken is putty. That's why she's mine."
"Ah, yes, because you're the immovable stone."

Ken felt something, then, a need to know. A curiosity had ben eating away at him for the past few days, and he wanted to know for sure.
"Ruki..."
"Yes?"
"Just... Just how do you feel about me?"
Ruki was quiet for a moment. Her expression was the blank look of one trying to put though into specific words.
"Well... I think you're very sweet. I think that you're very kind, and you have a good heart..."
"Really?"
"Yeah. And... I... kind of hope that you think same about me..."
His hand extended across the table. Hers joined it.
"I do."
"Gotcha." Whispered Ryo.
"Do you want to come over and study tonight?"
"I would love to."
Already his light was dimmer. Should his love have made it brighter? No... love's strength requires two parties, a resonating harmony of each one's emotions. Here, once the love had left it's source, it was stifled, strangled until noone could hear it but Ken, lost in his own little world.
She was outside his the door to his home at the time she'd said she'd be there. He opened the door and invited her in.
The sun was setting. Ruki's power was waxing.
"Hey."
"Hi, Ken."
He led her through the apartment, showing her the kitchen, and then his room. She set her books on his desk, and opened one.
"So, what do we start with?"
"I guess we ought to begin with history..."
They talked, quizzed, and mused for the better part of an hour. Finally, Ruki closed the textbook.
"That's enough of that."
She half collapsed in her chair.
"I hate this class."
"I know how you feel."
She sat up again.
"So, what now?"
She looked at Ken, their eyes meeting. Again, that flash.
"Oh, I don't know..."
They moved closer, and she closed her eyes. They leaned into...
A kiss.
Ken broke it and looked at this girl. He had known her for little more than a week, yet already cared for her deeply. What is it about her? What connection was there?
That kiss had stirred something, deep in his heart.
Then he realized something.
What it had stirred was something terrible. A part of him he had hidden, bubbling up like vomit, rising to his mind, taking control...
The Kaiser.
"Ken... I don't know how you do it..."
Her hand caressed his cheek. His hand grasped her wrist. Something was different. He held himself higher. His touch was firmer. His eyes were darker. This was... This was Kaiser, just as she had hoped.
"Ken..."
"Not Ken anymore." He said, his voice carrying that same spite for the world that she had envisioned. He ran a hand through his hair, ruffing it into a wild spikes that fit his new mentality. He kissed her again, his tongue exploring her mouth. She broke it this time.
"Kaiser, what is it you want?"
"Power."
"Do you want to become one with the darkness?"
"What?"
"Kaiser... do you wish to possess power beyond your farthest dreams? To become a part of the darkness?"
He though for a moment. There was a flash, and for a moment she saw a flash of him in full dress.
"Yes, I do."
Their clothes fell away, and the Kaiser was lost in the moment. His hand ran through her hair as he led her to his... no... Ken's bed. She lay back, and he took a moment to admire her body. The pale complexion was perfect, and his lightly tanned body slid beside her.
"You must take the last step. After this, you cannot turn back."
The Kaiser stood and looked at her.
"You're asking me to consider not fucking a beautiful girl to gain unimaginable power. What is wrong with you? Could the darkness not have sent someone with a brain?"
Ruki did not smile. Instead, she spread her legs a bit.
"Come."
The Kaiser did. He entered her with full swiftness, and began thrusting strongly. Her hands played with her breasts as strong feelings of pleasure radiated from her vagina. The Kaiser, unlike his inept alter ego, was capable of making love to her with such passion... each thrust sent her scooting back a bit along the bed. Soon, Ruki was moaning, and genuinely.
Lee listened from outside. Floating on the other side of the wall, he heard everything. This was beginning to become too much.
The Kaiser began pumping more rapidly. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she wrapped her legs around him. With his left index finger he found her rectum and began playing with it, rubbing around it and poking gently. This was something new to Ruki, and she began to moan louder. A black fog seeped in the window. Their pace increased even further, the bed creaking loudly with each thrust. The fog resolved itself into Lee. He watched from a point neither was focused on. Ruki cried out loudly as her vagina contracted around the Kaiser's cock. This brought him to new heights of pleasure, and he came as well. Ruki brought her face to his neck...
It was over. She paused to catch her breath, then pushed the unconscious body off from her.
"Why don't you ever do that?" She asked, pulling on her pants.
"I didn't think you were into that sort of thing."
"I wasn't."
"That's why."
She pulled her shirt on.
"Okay. Let's go."
Face is back. And in force.
