Chapter 5: Bugged Out

Davis was listening to the radio. He was nodding his head to the beats. He thought he might buy something for Mimi before they went on their lunch date. An old Linkin Park song came on.

I cannot take this anymore.

It's something I heard once before.

None of this makes any sense.

I find this an ignorance.

Nothing ever gonna be the same

Over and over again! (Just like before.)

Everything you say to me! (Takes me one-step closer to the edge and I'm about to break!)

Davis loved this song. He nodded his head more violently.

(The next day)

It was a Saturday morning and Davis was on the couch watching the Power Rangers eating a bowl of Lucky Charms. "No red ranger!" he accidently said aloud.

Kari woke to find Tai making breakfast. He looked to see his sister just wake up. "So how'd you sleep?" He asked. "Oh, just fiiiine," she said yawning. "Well breakfast will be ready soon. Go brush your teeth. I can smell it all the way from here," He said laughing. She responded by flicking him off.

Ken was in the shower singing. He got out and put on a towel. He got dressed and ran down stairs to turn on the TV. He changed the channel with Power Rangers on it (Remember, Davis and Ken are best friends).

Tk couldn't wait for he and Kari's walk. He figured before the walk he'd take her to a romantic restaurant. He rubbed his chin and could feel a beard coming on. Matt was on the couch on the phone talking to Sora. "Baby, I swear I came by your house and no one was there!" Just then the phone hung up. "Sora? Baby?" He hung up also. Tk could hear the conversation. "Looks like you're going to using motion lotion for a while!" Tk said laughing. Matt got up and angrily went to his room. Tk saw how mad he was. "I was just kidding!" He yelled but Matt didn't listen.

Mimi was at her job trying to persuade a woman to buy this new dress. "When you walk into a party, people are going to stare and say `where did she get that dress?'" The woman thought about it. "Ok, I'll buy it!" The woman said. Mimi got behind the cash register and rang up the woman. "Okay, that will be $50." The woman handed her a bill and walked out of the store happy. She began to daydream about Davis. Mimi's friend and co-worker Lauren looked at her. She knew what it meant when Mimi had that face on. "So who is it?" She asked. Mimi blushed a little. "He's coming in around lunch time. You'll see him." Lauren giggled a little and went back to work.

Ken was on the phone with Yolie. "So what did Davis tell you?" She asked. "Well, he said he's gotten over Kari and is in love with Mimi now." "Well, Kari told me that she still has feelings for Tk but is more in love with Davis. Why is your friend so hard headed?" "You act like you just met him!" Ken said.

(At noon)

Mimi was ringing someone up when Davis walked in with a light-brown teddy bear and a dozen roses in hand. "Oh my gosh!" Mimi said covering her mouth. Lauren watched as Mimi ran up to this mysterious man. "Hear is a Teddy Bear," He said handing it to her. She embraced it. "And here are some roses," Davis stepped closer to whisper into her ear, "To match the smell of your pussy." "Davis!" She said and playfully pushed him. He laughed out loud.

They were at the food court and had two Blimpie subs. Davis was demolishing his sandwich while Mimi took her time. "So what time do you get off of work?" he asked. "At about 2:00." "Cool. I can stay in the mall, walk around a little." "Okay, what are going to look for?" "Stuff." She smiled and shook her head. She got up from the table. "Time for me to get back to work. I'll c'ya later okay?" Davis nodded his head and they kissed goodbye.

Davis was on the top floor of the mall looking at watch through a viewing mirror. The diamonds in the watch were huge. Just then Kane walked up on him. Davis looked up. "What's up Kane?" Davis said putting his hand out for a greeting. Kane did not accept it. "I didn't appreciate the way you embarrassed me in the club. Meet me outside in the parking lot. We got something to handle." Davis wasn't worried. He had confidence in his strength. So he took the elevator down to the first floor and walked out to the Parking lot.

He saw Kane sitting in his red truck with the same guys that were at the club that night. "So I guess you are as stupid as everyone says," Kane said jumping out the back. He started walking towards Davis. He swung but Davis ducked and came up with an uppercut. Kane fell to the ground and he kicked hard. Kane's boys jumped out of the truck and ran towards Davis obviously wanting to jump him. Davis knocked out the first guy that came up but, one of them got behind him and held him as the others got their hits in. Then out of nowhere, one of them fell down. It was Ken. He had jump kicked the guy in the back. He took out most of the others. Kane was the only one left and Davis wasn't looking so happy. He punched him so hard that it echoed. Kane was out.

"They jumped you?" Mimi said very worried. "Yeah. Thanks to Ken, I got away," Davis said. Mimi got up and hugged Ken. He didn't hug back because he saw the look on Davis's face.

5:00 rolled around and Tk and Kari were in the car on their way to the restaurant. The car was silent so Tk decided to turn on the radio. They both started to nod their heads to the beats. Then they looked at each other and laughed. "Man, we look so retarded doing that!" Kari said. "Yeah!" The red-hot chili peppers came on and Tk began to hum the words "…And there's a light on, heavy glow! Right away I tried to say I'll be there, waiting for…" Kari was staring at Tk. He noticed and thought it meant stop singing. "No… keep on going. It sounds great." She said and he continued.
