All you wanted…
Chapter 4: Fun and games
Inside the cafe, Daisuke and Miyako were sitting at a corner table waiting for their two friends. Daisuke was sitting with a bit of a twitch in his right foot as he kept tapping it up and down. He was obviously nervous about something.
"Daisuke, what's the matter? Need to use the bathroom?" Miyako raised her brow looking at the jumpy Daisuke.
"What?" Daisuke jumped a little from his seat.
"Your foot looks like it's ready to do a marathon." She said dryly slightly agitated by the sound his loafers made on the marble floor.
"I can't help it, I think I might have gotten Takeru into some trouble."
"What makes you think that?" she paused.
"Well you see, I kinda asked him for a little help on during our math quiz this morning and I think the teacher caught him…" he said a little shamefully.
"You asked him to cheat for you?!" She practically yelled at him.
"I know, I'm stupid…" He winced.
"Got that right." Miyako deadpanned.
"But I'm gonna tell Mr. Fujikawa as soon as I see him. I'm gonna get Takeru out of this mess." He assured her as his foot continued tapping. "Man, he must be pissed…" he gulped.
"If that's pissed, I wanna see what he's like when he's happy…" Miyako trailed off as she noticed Takeru running through the double doors with a huge grin on his face.
"Huh?" Daisuke mouthed as he saw a speeding Takeru looking ready to crash heads with him. "Ahhh! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!!" Daisuke pleaded.
"Guys, hide me!" Takeru grinned mischievously as he ran behind the two crouching behind them.
Daisuke and Miyako were obviously lost in all of this as they both crouched down next to him.
"Takeru, are you okay?" Miyako asked.
"I'm great. Just don't move and keep quiet ok?" he grinned still a bit out of breath.
"Uh…alright." Daisuke whispered. "Um…dude, I'm really sorry about the math thing this morning." He started
"Huh? Oh no worries…" Takeru blurted shooting his head quickly up from behind one of the chairs and plunging it back down.
"Um, what are you doing?" Miyako asked with suspicion.
"Hiding." he grinned
"What do you mean 'no worries'?" Daisuke interrupted. "I saw the teacher talking to you. What happened?"
"I got a weeks detention." Takeru answered not particularly caring much about it.
"…And you're okay with that…?" Miyako shook her head slowly.
Takeru didn't have a chance to answer as the double doors came crashing open and an enraged Hikari was huffing from the center.
"Where is he?!" she demanded.
"What the…" Miyako staggered to stand up but was being forced back to crouching by Takeru's hand.
Takeru took sight of her and grinned staying crouched behind the table. But he wouldn't be grinning for long.
Hikari zeroed in on the only vacant table not too far from the corner where she knew her friends always sat. Maybe it was the chairs that magically moved by themselves or the slight bobbing of an agitated Miyako being pulled down, but all she knew was that Takeru had been exposed.
"Takeru! Give it back!!" Hikari marched up to the vacant table.
"What's she talking about?" Daisuke looked at Takeru.
"Her wallet." Takeru smirked holding up the pink and purple leather in his hand. He stood up from his hiding corner knowing that he was caught and held in clear view displaying Hikari a dare-like grin.
"You have three seconds…" she warned taking much quicker paces. "One…"
"Or you'll what?" he coaxed.
"Two…" her eyes narrowed and pacing increased.
"Dude, you're on your own." Daisuke scrambled to his feet and took shelter next to Miyako who, too was backing away from what looked to be Hikari on a warpath.
"Three!" Hikari's rapid pace turned into an escalated jog and she surprised everyone when she jumped right over the table landing on top of Takeru. Takeru fumbled the wallet and thus the perfect opportunity for Hikari to grab a hold of it.
"What the..?!" Daisuke stood at the side with his mouth slightly agape. "How'd you manage that in a skirt?" he grinned.
**SMACK**
Miyako belted him from behind.
"Hentai." She remarked.
"OWW!!" Daisuke wailed in pain.
Hikari and Takeru were still pinned on the floor but this time laughing out loud. Takeru took the initiative to stand and offered his hand to the still slightly hysterical Hikari.
"Come on," Takeru said in between chuckles, "I'll really buy you lunch for that."
Hikari accepted his hand and stood up still gasping for air. Both looked at Miyako and Daisuke, but found no momentary relief there as they all burst into laughter at the same time. They were in so much mirth that Hikari even had to wipe away a few tears.
"Hikari!" a deep voice boomed from the entrance. Hikari turned around to see her boyfriend at the side of the doors with a worried look on his face.
"Tomoko!" a wide smile made way on her face. The rest of the group just frowned. The fun was gone. "I'll talk to you guys later." She smiled and took off.
Takeru frowned looking at the two of them embrace.
"Well, look at the bright side," Daisuke patted Takeru on the shoulder, "at least you don't have to buy her lunch."
**SMACK**
Miyako side-slapped him at the same spot as before.
"OWW!!" Daisuke wailed again. "WHAT?!"
"Baka." Miyako rolled her eyes at the goggle-boys' stupidity.

"Tomoko!" Hikari dove into her boyfriend in an embrace.
"Hikari, I heard about the window." he broke their embrace and looked at her.
"Oh…I figured you probably did." She looked down in shame.
"So what's going to happen to you?" he gently lifted her chin to face him.
"I have to serve detention for a week." She sighed unhappily.
"Ooh, that sucks." He made a slight face.
"I know, for an hour each starting today." She cringed her face a bit. "Are you going to wait for me?" she asked a little hopeful.
He inhaled a little, "Ah…sorry babe, but I promised some friends I'd meet them later. I was going to ask you to come and all, but…you know, your detention and all…"
"Yeah…" she sighed and looked away. "I understand." Her look was somewhat melancholy. This wasn't the first time that he'd ditched her for his friends. But she refused to accept the fact that he was neglecting of her. Ever since he had said those three magic words that every girl dreamt of hearing, she was so convinced that he loved her. She refused to listen to that little nagging voice telling her that he was no good for her. She was afraid of losing the only person that "loved" her the way she'd always wanted to be, that she'd figure he only needed time.
He probably thinks I'm smothering him…. She thought. She was now making up excuses for him.
"You're the best. I knew you'd understand." He smiled down at her and pulled her into another embrace.
Hikari smiled inwardly to herself.

Back at the table Miyako was about ready to gag.
"Oh please, make me sick!" she spat watching the two. "What the hell does she see in that pompous jackass? I mean, he's an even bigger jerk than you!" she pointed her finger at Daisuke.
"I know!" He growled, oblivious to the comment that Miyako had made. "Wait…HEY!" realization finally dawning on him.
Takeru chuckled looking at the two go at each other like cat and dog momentarily forgetting about the other two at the other side of the cafeteria.
to be continued…
********
Still awake? I wasn't too sure about this chapter. I thought I made Hikari look a little desperate, but don't worry, she's only in a state of denial. She'll get better, trust me.
Um, anyhoo, things seem to be moving smoothly with this particular story. There's still things to be explained and covered along with a few more "cameo's" by other digi-destineds and digimon alike, so keep you're eye out!
