“Good morning, lady,” Tyler said, pulling her closer to him. Sara started kissing him on his chin as she slid onto his body.
“Someone’s in a giving mood,” Tyler said as he started kissing her back.
“Well, I haven’t seen you since last night, and you were off in dreamland while my body was calling to you,” she said, pressing her chest onto his. “I’m quite surprised that you didn’t hear it.”
“I’m supposing my body went on lockdown just to keep you in suspense,” Tyler said as he slipped his hands under her nightgown and caressed her already exposed butt. Neither one of them slept with any underwear on, but Sara wore the black satin nightgown because she liked the way it felt against her skin, and it made her look even more beautiful and enticing, much to Tyler’s delight.
“You must be fully awake now,” she said as she felt the tip of Tyler’s member touching the lips of her womanhood. She teased him a bit by swishing her hips from side to side lightly, causing it to brush against her lips. Tyler gave a strained sigh as he felt his member pulse from that action.
“You know, it’s very rude to tease someone in this position,” he said. “Things are bound to happen.”
“Like what?”
“Do you really need to ask?”
“Not really, especially since I’d be more than willing, given the current position right now.” She licked his nose, and started sliding down slowly onto his member. She bit her lip and gave off a soft moan as she felt her insides fill up with her lover. Their eyes never left each other, even as she slowly made her way back up.
“You seem to be more than willing this morning,” Sara said.
“Well, you started this, so someone has to finish it,” Tyler said. Sara smiled at him as she went down again. This time, she was met halfway by Tyler who started thrusting with her movements. Sara laid down on his chest, kissing him as he continued to thrust in her and caused her to moan in the kiss.
*BOOM BOOM BOOM* “Let’s go, you two! Up and at ‘em!”
A loud knock followed by a heavy smooth voice surprised them. “We’ve got a long day ahead of us and a lot of talking to do, so hurry up and get dressed and meet me in the living room,” it said.
“I’ll be a monkey’s uncle,” Tyler said with an exasperated sigh.
“That just completely spoiled the moment,” Sara said as she felt Tyler’s member go limp inside of her. She flopped her body down on Tyler’s chest, in which both of them laughed.
“I suppose we should get up,” Tyler said as Sara got off of him. “It wouldn’t do to keep him waiting, plus I have a lot of questions.”
“So do I,” Sara said as she slipped out of bed following Tyler. “What time is it anyway?”
“About 5:20,” Tyler said, looking at the clock on the nightstand next to the bed. “I venture to guess that the others are still asleep.”
“If not, then they must be some really unhappy individuals right now.”
“Sora tells me you’re quite the early bird,” Tyler said as he put on a pair of underwear.
“At best of times, yes,” Sara replied as she slipped the nightgown over her head and revealed her completely naked form. Tyler was tempted to walk up behind her and start ramming her right then and there.
“I see you’re an early bird, too,” Sara said, breaking him out of his trance as she slipped into one of her own when she caught sight of his erection straining at his underwear.
“Yeah, I can be,” Tyler said, noticing her look. They both kept silent for a bit, giving each other seductive looks and checking out each other’s bodies. Finally, they couldn’t take it anymore.
“Forget it,” Tyler said as he tore off his underwear and strode up to Sara who was just as eager as she leaped on him and started kissing him. They both fell on the floor with a thump.

Everyone, excluding Tyler and Sara, were gathered in the living room, waiting to hear what Blind had to say. Needless to say, they weren’t happy with the current time they had to get up at. They were even more annoyed that Tyler and Sara haven’t showed up yet, since Blind wanted to wait until everyone was there.
“What could be taking them so long?” Tai asked, slightly annoyed.
“Who cares, I wanna go back to bed,” Mimi said, yawning and stretching.
“Sorry to keep you guys waiting,” Tyler said as he came into the room followed closely by Sara.
“What were you doing in there that made you take so long?” Joe asked. The couple gave him a knowing look. “Forget I asked,” Joe said.
“Now that I have everyone here,” Blind said, getting everyone’s attention. “We have important matters to discuss.”
“Can’t it wait until later on today?” Matt asked.
“Yeah, like at twelve o’ clock?” Jun added, rubbing her eyes.
“No,” Blind said simply. “You’re going to have to get used to this, because your training begins around this time.” Everyone’s faces faulted. “Please have a seat on the cushions,” he said, directing them to the seats that were set in a row on the floor. Everyone sat down as Blind moved to the front of the room.
“I will be explaining to you everything about what’s been going on, what you will be facing, and what you will need to use in order to deal with this threat, so it would behoove you not to fall asleep while I’m talking,” he leveled a glare at Mimi, who immediately shot her eyes open. “I will also explain the function of the emeralds, and how they will play a vital role in your quest.”
As I have mentioned yesterday, there is a presence that is currently residing inside Tyler’s mind. This presence, a demon known as a succubus, serves under Morpheus, Ruler of Dreams. His ambition is to take over the universe by manipulation of dreams. He is one of many beings that is capable of spirit travel. From what we can gather, he has many underlings. The demon Morrigan is his most high ranking one, mainly due to her fighting prowess.”
“Does this Morpheus decide what we dream about?” Davis asked.
“No,” said Blind. “He doesn’t have that kind of power. He’s pretty much self-proclaimed since he travels through dreamers. Technically, Morpheus could have chosen any one of you at any time. He may have chosen Tyler because his own powers are weakening. Somehow, he caught your energy signature, possibly through you or someone else’s dream. As things currently stand right now, he and his minions will stop at nothing to gain control of you.”
“I thought you said Morrigan was after me?” Tyler asked.
“She is,” Blind said. “But it’s for her own personal gain. Morrigan is a very sneaky individual. Morpheus doesn’t know that she is playing him into his own trap. She wants your power just as much as he wants it, and will stop at nothing to get it. She also knows when and when not to act.”
“So it’s just a farce that she’s playing, right?” Sara asked. “Does Morpheus even suspect anything?”
“Maybe. It is quite possible that he doesn’t know anything about what she’s planning.”
“I find it quite amazing that you know so much about these characters,” Tai said.
“Alchemy has its ways of telling you things that you would normally count as disconcerting, plus I’ve done a lot of study on them, and used my own experience as well. Morpheus is a god of Greek mythology; Morrigan is a being of Irish mythology, said to be sometimes known as a triple goddess, or even a goddess of war, and it’s completely ironic, due to the fact that her taking the form of the succubus demon means that she takes part in a Western medieval culture. But it kind of goes well hand in hand, since there will be a war coming into play soon. Which is why I will be preparing you for what is to come.”
“What exactly is alchemy?” TK asked.
“Alchemy is the study of the seven elements of the universe: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Light, Dark, and Aether, which is commonly associated with Thunder. They all play a vital role in its balance, so if you take away one element, you will throw the balance off. Studying its form is more complicated than you can realize, and it takes several years or more to figure it out. I, myself, have been studying alchemy for decades, and I still haven’t figured it all out. As you study alchemy, you begin to develop certain attributes within your body, such as heightened senses, being more attuned with nature and a better understanding of the elements, and having an affinity towards any particular force. It all adds up to you becoming a sentient being, one that s capable of sensing things beyond regular human perception. You may not know it, Tyler, but you are a sentient being yourself.”
“How so?” Tyler asked. “I’ve never studied alchemy.”
“In all actuality, you’ve been exposed to it longer than you realize. Your tea making is a form of alchemy. You may think it’s just mere business, but you have done more than you think you have. You say that you incorporate your martial arts into its study, right?”
“Yes,” Tyler said. “Each punch I throw, or each kick I launch contributes to a new ingredient. Depending on the form I use depends on the type of tea, and which ingredients will be used to make it. So if I were to use Tai Chi, it will be a type of tea used for breathing and healing purposes.”
“And that is how you are connected to the study of alchemy. Normally when people make tea, they use what the store has, and a glass of water, but you have implemented ways to come up with new and very useful ways to create recipes for health benefits. So in turn, this makes you a sentient being.”
“Where do the elements come into play with my being sentient?”
“Each form that you use is an elemental attribute. Tai Chi, for instance, coincides with water, Wushu to aether, Hung Gar to earth, and so on. They are rooted to the elements due to the way they are formed. Tai Chi flows like water, Wushu strikes like lightning, and Hung Gar uses the strength of earth. You have been taught these styles by your dad, am I correct?”
“Yes, but how do you know of my dad?”
“We have met on more than one occasion, and were old friends as well, way before Gennai and I met. Like you, he is a sentient being as well, although he knew that he was. He contacted me and told me how he was kicked out of the country, and asked me to look after you as much as I can. He sends his deepest regrets that the two of you weren’t able to complete your training to the top of the mountain.”
Tyler had a worried expression on his face. “Do you know where he is now?”
Blind’s face tensed up. “Unfortunately, he told me not to tell you. He wants you to find him yourself. I’m not even supposed to give you a clue, so using Mind’s Eye won’t help you in this situation.”
Tyler sighed exasperatedly. Sara grabbed his hand with both of hers, consoling him. Blind looked at him solemnly for a second, then turned his attention back to his discussion.
*********************************************************** **************************
“Morpheus never told me where this place was,” a slender, dark figure mused to itself as it moved silently through the trees high above the ground. “The only thing he told me was to spy on a bunch of humans that were causing him trouble-”
Shade
Shade stopped moving, focusing on the voice that was in his head, which was as soft as the wind, and very familiar.
“What do you want?” Shade said in annoyance.
Close your eyes, Shade
Shade did so, and immediately noticed that he was enshrouded in dark mists. His face twisted in a frown as the mists played lightly against his body, massaging him.
“You’re not going to seduce me, so I would suggest you’d stop trying,” Shade said, looking around.
The mist giggled lightly. “You always were stubborn,” it said. “Perhaps maybe next time you’ll be more willing?”
“Keep this up, and there won’t be a next time for you. So why don’t you show your face instead of hiding in the mist, and tell me why you called me here, Morrigan?”
Shade felt the mist smile as it compressed into a beautiful woman with blond hair, baby blue eyes, soft red lips, and soft, peach colored skin. She had on a white, shoulder strap silk gown that came to her ankles, and a gold anklet around one of her bare feet. She smiled lightly at Shade, who had a very annoyed look on his face.
“Like what you see?” the woman said, turning around slowly.
“No,” Shade said, reaching up to the sword on his back. “And if you don’t stop piddling around and tell me what you want, you’ll see how much I don’t like it.”
“My, you’re a tough cookie,” the woman said as she transformed into Morrigan, only this time her wings were red with black lining, and the ones on her head were missing. Her lower waist down, including her tail, was completely black, and she didn’t have the stilettos, and her hands and teeth became sharp claws and fangs. Her eyes went from blue to black, and she lost the speech impediment, so she talked quite normal.
“What in Nine Realms happened to you?” Shade asked, lowering his hand from his sword as he noticed several large bruises adorning Morrigan’s body.
“I botched a mission,” Morrigan said. “Need I say more?”
Shade sighed. “So, what do you want?”
“You haven’t forgotten our agreement, have you?”
“What agreement? You forced me to concede to this farce, remember?”
“I wouldn’t exactly call it ‘force’,” Morrigan said, smiling lightly. “I think of it merely as taking drastic measures to provide security.”
“Whatever. You do know that sooner or later he will find out, don’t you?”
“And until that time, I plan to drag this out as long as I can. Besides, by the time he comes to terms as to what is happening, it will be too late. I’ll have everything I need in order to overthrow him. Plus, you’ll be there to help me won’t you?”
“Just so as long as I get my pay. You seem to forget that I’m a mercenary, and I can quit this mission at any time I feel like it.”
“I remember,” said Morrigan. “Are you confused about something?”
Shade looked at her inquisitively. “I am now, since you said that. What makes you think I’m confused?”
“Something is bothering you, I can tell.”
“Yeah. What‘s the deal with the digimon digivolving automatically like that?”
“Like what?”
“You mean you don‘t know?” Morrigan shook her head. “I watched as a SkullMeramon came towards me when he sniffed the air and noticed I was around. I thought I was going to have to kill him, but he suddenly reverted back to Meramon, and went away as if he was lost.”
“Well, I don‘t know anything about that,” Morrigan said. Suddenly, a question she had been meaning to ask Shade popped into her head. “Shade, what is your real reason for doing this mission?”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s just that you seem so eager to do this, and I sense some apprehension about you that makes you seem so…lonely.”
“You sentient beings are all alike,” Shade said. “Always letting your senses pry into other people’s minds.”
“I don’t mean to,” Morrigan said in concern. “I’m just merely curious.”
“Yeah? Well, curiosity killed the cat.”
Morrigan smiled. “Then I should have died ages ago,” she said.
“I can remedy that right now if you want.”
“I was just asking a question, Shade. I’m not trying to pry into your sex life. Besides, who am I going to tell?”
Shade lowered his head. “Yeah, I’m doing this for a reason as well,” he said with a sigh. “I have beef with one of these cretins. They killed someone very near and dear to my heart, and I swore to avenge his death long ago. So when I heard about everything that was going on, I jumped at the opportunity to get my revenge.”
“What was his name?”
“None of your business. That has nothing to do with your intentions.”
“I won’t argue,” Morrigan said. “Mind telling me your real name then?”
“My real name is of no concern to you, demon,” Shade spat out. “Now leave me. I must continue on until I find them.”
Morrigan felt her own blood boil with lust. Feisty people like Shade made her function as a succubus much more interesting, but this one was more stubborn than anyone she had ever faced.
“As you wish,” she said, bowing as the mist surrounded her again. Shade felt her presence leave him.
‘I can’t stand that creature,’ he thought as he closed his eyes and opened them again to reveal the forest, and the tree he was currently standing on. He looked up past the trees to the sky, which was showing the first signs of light.
‘DJ,’ he thought. ‘I will avenge you, even if I have to die trying.’
******************************************************** ***************************
By the time Blind was done explaining everything, from the attributes of the Chaos Emeralds to the seven realities in Tyler’s mind, almost everyone was half asleep. Blind had given up on trying to keep them awake, and instead concentrated on talking to the few that were awake, which were Tyler, Sara, Davis, Kari, Sam, and Ken. They were all very curious, and were asking intriguing questions, which Blind promptly provided answers for. It was about 7:30 in the morning when he was done talking. Gennai was in the kitchen making breakfast for everyone. The smell of eggs and bacon filled the room with its rich aroma.
“Smells like breakfast is almost ready,” Kari said, sniffing at the air. As soon as she said this, the heads of the ones that were nodding off shot up immediately with one word on the mind: Food. Gennai turned around when he heard the thundering footsteps of Yolei, Tai, and Mimi rushing for the table, each grabbing a seat. Joe, TK, Jun, Matt, Cody, Trinity, and Sora followed them, and Blind and the others, as well as the digimon, walked in calmly behind them, grinning with amusement.
“Maybe you should have used the prospect of food in your speech,” Tyler commented to Blind with a grin.
“I’ll consider it next time,” Blind said with a laugh as they joined the group for breakfast.
Later on in the day, after a select few complained about not getting a shower and some more rest, Blind ushered the group to the O.R. again. As he pressed the combination on the panel next to the door, Tyler noticed a subtle difference from the pattern he used last time.
“You’re changing the pattern of the combination?” he asked.
“No, just changing rooms,” Blind replied. The door opened to reveal a large completely empty room that had a ceiling about thirty feet high, and was about forty square feet in length, forty square feet in width, and had a padded floor. The windows were almost all the way to the top of the ceiling, and they were open to let fresh air in the room. Everyone looked around in awe at how big the place was.
“This look like the training room from The Matrix,” TK said.
“That’s because it is,” said Blind. Everyone looked at him and noticed his clothes had changed. He still wore the same outfit, but now it was black with white trim, and a muscular black panther outlined in white encircled his body. He had no gloves on, his blindfold was black, and his hair turned a deep raven color. He still wore the soft black shoes though.
“Uh, Blind? Your clothes have changed,” Davis said.
“Thank you, Mr. Obvious,” Blind said with an annoyingly polite voice. “And if you’ll notice, your clothed have changed as well.”
Everyone looked down at what they were wearing, and gasped in shock. Instead of the clothes they were wearing a few seconds ago, they were dressed in training gi of different colors with karate belts, each representing their attribute: Tai was in orange, Matt in cerulean, Sora in red, Izzy in light purple, Mimi in green, Joe in gray, Davis in blue, Ken in dark violet, Yolei in pink (which Mimi complained about later), Cody in brown, Kari in white, TK in yellow, Tyler in silver, and Sara in black. Jun, Sam, and Trinity were dressed in beige gi, since they have no natural attribute. All of the girls had a black elastic wrap-around that encircled their body and chest underneath their gi so their breasts wouldn’t be exposed during training.
“Well, this is new,” Sam said, tugging at the folds of her uniform.
“And comfortable,” Trinity said, jumping lightly. “It’s better than the kendo gear that I have to wear when I practice.”
“Same here,” Cody said. “Hey Blind, why aren’t we wearing any shoes?”
“Why would you wear shoes with karate gi anyway?” Blind answered.
“Well, it’s just that you’re wearing shoes, so I thought…”
“What, you though I wasn’t going to train with you?” Blind said, and with a flinch of his body, his clothes changed from the black Chinese robe to a training gi similar to theirs which was black with a beige trim, a beige karate belt, and no shoes. He would have looked like Morpheus from The Matrix if he was bald with no black blindfold, and had a huge gap in his teeth.
“Hey, what about us?” Veemon asked. Blind looked at the digimon standing off to the side.
“It would be possible, but some of you aren’t bipedal and would look absolutely ridiculous in karate gi, not to mention that some of you don’t have any type of humanoid form when you digivolve, so it would be virtually impossible for you to train with us. There may be an alternative though. I’ll talk to you later about it. In the mean time, could you move off to the side of the room please? Thank you.”
The digimon moved to the far side of the room as Blind focused his attention back to the group.
“Today is you first day of training,” he said. “This will prepare you physically, and mentally, for the day when you will go into Tyler’s mind for the battle. Tyler, you’re doing this yourself so you can strengthen your mind shields, in case Morrigan finds a way to break through them. Mimi and Kari, this may be a way to strengthen the shields around the seeds that are planted inside your heads, and it may repair Mimi’s shield in the process. Jun, Trinity, and Sam, your main goal is to awaken your abilities through training. The rest of you, including Mimi and Kari, will awaken your powers according to your attributes, and will strengthen them, so I don’t want to hear any complaints, Joe, about how you aren’t capable of being a fighter. Even clerics and doctors need to learn a thing or two about fighting, and what you will be doing will require a lot of fighting, so consider this as a self-confidence boost.” Joe’s face faulted. “The styles you will learn will be according to your element,” Blind went on. “Some of you might learn two different styles at once, others may learn the same style together, depending on your element. Cody, for example, will learn the styles of Tai Chi and Hung Gar, since his elements are Earth and Water. On the other hand, Sora will learn Northern Shaolin Fist, since her element is Fire. Tyler, you and Sara will be relearning some styles for your own benefits. You will all learn a basic style to start off with, which is basic self defense. Now, believe me when I say that this will be the hardest that you have ever trained in your life. Some of you might endure more than others. Most of you have not exercised a day in your life, so you will have a harder time. ALL of you will be hurting by the end of the day, so be prepared. And you had better be well hydrated, because this won’t be a walk in the park. If you survive, you will become something more than you thought to be. If you survive.” Everyone looked at each other as Blind took a few steps back. “Now, I want everyone to spread out evenly from each other with enough space between you so you won’t hit anyone…”
True to his word, the first day left them in so much pain that they could hardly walk. Even the digimon, which Blind trained in an alternate version of traditional karate for the quadruped’s benefits, were in pain. Mimi never stopped complaining, which was nothing new, and Joe was almost ready to pass out.
“I seriously need a chiropractor,” Sam said at dinner that evening. She could barely lift her chopsticks, and had to resort to leaning down to put the food in her mouth.
“I’ve never done so many push-ups in my life,” TK said, massaging his shoulder. “Even at basketball practice.”
“You’d better get used to it,” Blind said, coming into the kitchen now dressed in his original white clothes. “Because the next few days are going to be a lot harder, but your bodies will eventually get used to it and become more flexible. In the end, you’ll find this to be quite fun to do.”
“I don’t know if I’ll find this fun,” Joe said. “I’d rather be doing a mountain of homework.”
“Joe, is that your actual idea of fun?” Blind asked him as he sat down with a plate of food.
“Well, to be quite frank, yes,” Joe responded.
“Why?”
“I don’t know. I guess my social status isn’t all that great.”
“Probably because you don’t try to talk to anyone. Besides, I don’t think that’s all true. You’re here with a bunch of friends that consider you part of the group.”
Joe looked around at the smiling, but weary faces of his friends. “I suppose,” he said as he returned the smile. Blind looked around, and noticed something else that put Joe in the state he was in.
‘So that’s why…’ he thought.
After dinner, everyone started heading back to their rooms for a well needed shower and rest.
“Hey, Tai,” Blind said, catching Tai’s attention. “I need to talk to you for a second.” He led Tai to the living room.
“What’s up?” Tai asked.
“What’s going on with Joe?” Blind asked.
“What do you mean?”
“He seems to be lacking major self-confidence. I mean, it threw me off, because of the way he presents himself.”
“Yeah, we noticed too. We had to go through the same thing with him the first time we came to the digital world. He was somewhat extremely paranoid with everything and a bit too cautious. He said that he was that way because he’s the oldest, and he had to be responsible for us.”
“Sounds like a worry wart.”
“Yeah, sort of. Without his help, though, we wouldn’t have been able to survive here.”
“Isn’t Tyler the same age as him?”
“Believe it or not, no. Joe’s actually a year older than him.”
“Wow. How’s his love life? Has he ever had any luck with girls?”
“None that I know of. He liked Mimi for a time, but it didn’t go so well when he told her how he felt. Long story short, it took us about three weeks to get him to come out of his house. There was another girl he liked. He met up with her during that fight with Armageddemon.”
“What happened to her?”
“She moved away to Singapore, and he never saw her again. After that, he started spending most of his time studying and doing homework. He’d hang with us occasionally, but not too often. Why do you ask?”
“I’m going to need some help with getting him to socialize more. I notice that the only time he talks is when he’s either curious about something, or when someone asks him a question.”
“Sounds like what Tyler went through. How can I help?”
“When we train, I need you to spend time with him as often as you can. Try your best to get him to open up, and ask Gomamon to talk with him too. Does he speak to his partner often?”
“Only when he wants someone to complain to,” Tai said with a laugh. Blind chuckled lightly. “I’ll see what I can do, though.”
“Thank you,” said Blind. “Go ahead and take a shower. You stink.”
“You’re one to talk,” Tai said as he left the living room.
“I smell better than you do,” Blind called after him.
“Ah, whatever!”
“What was that all about?” Sora asked Tai as he came into the room.
“Blind wants me to get Joe to socialize more and try to boost his self confidence.”
“How are you going to do that?”
“Don’t know. He wants me to get Gomamon to help as well. I’ll just have to play it by ear as I go along.” He grabbed a washcloth from the dresser drawer and started heading for the bathroom.
“I know you don’t think you’re taking a shower before me, do you?” Sora said.
Tai turned to her. “Actually, I thought about us taking one together,” he said with a grin.
“Now that’s more like it,” Sora said as she grabbed a washcloth and followed Tai into the bathroom.
************************************************************* ************************
“Tell me, Morrigan. Have you found a way to break through his mind shields?” Morpheus asked.
“An idea I may have,” Morrigan said. “Tonight, in his sleep, I will visit him. Different tactic I shall use. Would you like to know the idea I have?”
“Spare me the details. It is not for me to know. I just want the job done, and I want it done right. Is that clear?”
“Yes, master.”
“Good. You may go.”
Morrigan bowed deeply to him, and retreated from his chamber. Morpheus got up from his seat and walked over to a window and stared out at it.
‘Morpheus, let me ask you a question,’ a voice that was familiar to him thought in his head.
‘What is it, Shade?’ Morpheus thought back annoyed.
‘Why didn’t you tell me where this place is?’
‘Because I wanted you to find it for yourself. Now get moving.’
‘So in other words, you don’t know.’
Morpheus sighed exasperatedly. ‘Shut up, and get going, or I’ll cut what I will pay you in half.’
‘You guys don’t know anything,’ Shade thought before abruptly cutting off the link between them.
Morpheus sighed again. ‘Why did I hire that person,’ he thought to himself.
“Hey, boss.”
‘What now?’ Morpheus thought, gritting his teeth. He straightened his face and turned around to look at a gray bipedal unicorn with a large trumpet strapped to its back. Instead of front hooves, it had hands with three fingers on them each.
“What do you want, Amdusias?” Morpheus asked.
“When are we gonna get to see some action? Me an’ the other demons are getting’ restless!”
“Soon,” said Morpheus. “When Morrigan and Shade complete their missions.”
“Fair enough,” Amdusias said, being careful not to arouse the Dream God’s anger. “I’ll let the others know. Oh, yeah. On a side note, you might want to watch out for that Morrigan chick. There’s more to her than meets the eye.”
“Do you presume to tell me what to do, Amdusias?”
“Nah, just givin’ a suggestion and looking out for your well being.”
“I’ll take it into consideration,” Morpheus said as he turned back to the window. “Now, get out of my presence.”
“As you wish, boss,” Amdusias said, bowing deeply before leaving the chamber. As he walked towards the large door he noticed a shadow under the crack of the door, which quickly disappeared as he opened it.
‘This place is really creepy,’ he thought, looking around before leaving the rest of the way out of the chamber.
Morrigan hid around the corner of the hallway, watching Amdusias’ retreating form.
‘A splinter in my side, that demon will be,’ she thought. ‘Careful around him, I must become.’

“You okay, Tyler?” Sara asked Tyler, noticing he was a bit uncomfortable about falling asleep.
“I’ll be fine,” he said. “I’m just a little nervous about falling asleep, that’s all.”
“Is it because of what Blind said to you this morning?”
“It’s not that at all. I just get the feeling that something is about to happen. I don’t know what, though.”
“Well, whatever it is, I’m sure it’s nothing to be worked up about.”
Tyler looked at her. “When has there not been something to worry about these past few days?”
“I can’t argue with that,” Sara said with a shrug. “Guess what, though. I’ll be here with you when it happens.”
“I know,” Tyler said, grabbing her hand and kissing the back of it. They snuggled in each other’s arms, and with a kiss, went to sleep.
“TYLER!!!”
Tyler shot his eyes open at the sound of Sara‘s voice, immediately noticing he was in a meditative position. He jumped up, looking around at the completely white space all around him.
“What in…” he started before being cut off by an evil laugh that was completely feminine, and very familiar. He looked ahead and saw a sight he wish he didn’t have to see. There, standing about ten feet tall, and shrouded in a dark mist that swirled mischievously around her, was the demon Morrigan, looking exactly as she did when he first encountered her. Around her feet were seventy-two of the most ugliest creatures he had ever seen. Among them, he recognized one that was all too familiar to him.
“Asmodaimon?” he said with disbelief.
“Oh, Tyler,” Morrigan said in a sing-song voice, getting his attention.
“What do you want from me?!” Tyler shouted at her.
“You are so clueless,” she said. “Didn’t Blind tell you? Your powers will be mine, whether you give them to me or not.”
“You’ll have to fight me to get it, and I won’t make it easy for you,” Tyler said, getting into a defensive position.
“Oh, you’ll give them to me alright,” Morrigan said, snidely.
“What makes you think I will?”
“Because she’ll DIE IF YOU DON’T” Morrigan shouted as she held Sara up in the air by her throat. Sara was trying with all her might to break the death grip that Morrigan had on her, but her strength was slowly ebbing away with each struggle.
“SARA!!!” Tyler screamed as he made a rush for her-
-and was knocked back by a blast from one of the demons. Tyler grunted as he hit the ground. Immediately, he was back on his feet.
“Foolish mortal,” Morrigan said, laughing maniacally. “It’s pointless to fight, so just give up.”
“NEVER!!!” he screamed as his body turned silver. He made another rush for her.
“KILL HIM!” Morrigan commanded the demons around her. As one, the seventy-two demons charged Tyler, who faced them head on.
Tyler woke up with a snort, his eyes staring at the sleeping form of Sara. He gazed at her for a while, letting his nerves calm down.
‘She’s alright,’ he thought to himself. ‘Just a dream.’ Though he tried to convince himself of that, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something terrible was going to happen.
‘You’re not going to die, my love,’ he thought as he kissed her on her forehead. ‘Not on my watch. I’ll see to it.’
“Mmm…” Sara moaned lightly in her sleep. “I love you, Tyler…”
Tyler almost felt like crying as he watched her. “I love you too, lady,” he whispered, rubbing her cheek lightly. “More than anything.” He slipped out of bed silently and put on a pair of sweatpants. He looked back at her one last time, and crept out of the room.
Izzy looked up from the table and the carton of ice cream he was eating from as Tyler came into the kitchen.
“Doesn’t anyone sleep around here?” Tyler asked.
“Apparently not,” Izzy said. “Why are you up?”
“Bad dream. You?”
“Couldn’t sleep. Mimi kept making these really weird growling noises.”
“Shouldn’t you be used to that?” Tyler asked, getting a bottle of water from the refrigerator.
“What do you mean?”
Tyler gave him a snide look with a grin. Izzy gave off a derisive sniff when he realized what he meant, and turned back to eating his ice cream. Tyler chuckled and took a seat across from him.
“Hey, Tyler?”
“Yeah?”
“For what it’s worth, I’m sorry.”
“For…?”
“For being an idiot towards you,” Izzy said, looking squarely at him.
“Izzy, I already forgave you for that,” Tyler said, looking at him. “There’s no need to think about it anymore.”
“I know, and I know you’re not one to hold grudges either, but to tell you the truth, when I apologized, I didn’t really mean it. I just did it so everyone would be satisfied.”
“Wow, I didn’t know that,” Tyler said, taking a sip of his water. “Well, I re-forgive you, then.”
“That’s not even a word.”
“I know.” They both shared a laugh. “What made you think about that anyway?”
“Well, out of all the things that’s been going on these past few days, I realized that I’ve been pretty selfish. It kind of dawned on me when Blind told me to shut up. I must have been going back to the geeky stage of my youth.”
“Compared to me, you’re still a youth,” Tyler said. “You’ve filled out a bit in the muscle department, though.”
“Not like you. After today, I noticed your muscles grew a bit more.”
“It happens. I’m actually still hurting from it, though.”
“You’re telling me. I thought I wasn’t going to survive the first hour and a half.” They shared another laugh.
“Well, it’s nice to see you two talking again,” said a voice behind them.
“Hey, Davis,” Izzy and Tyler said in unison, looking at him.
“Let me guess, couldn’t sleep?” Davis asked.
“Nah, we just decided to indulge ourselves in fatty foods and vehement conversation,” Tyler said sarcastically.
“Whatever,” Davis said, taking a seat two chairs down from Tyler.
“Why are you up?” Izzy asked.
“Kari punched me in my gut while she was sleep. I think that training today put some muscle on her.”
“Ouch,” Izzy said, holding his stomach. Tyler grimaced and groaned lightly.
“I tried to wake her up, but she just turned over and went back to sleep, saying something about ‘kill the snake’.”
“How in the world can you kill a snake by punching it in the gut?” Tyler asked.
“Got me,” said Davis. “The only way I know how to kill a snake is to chop its head off. Why are you guys up anyway?”
“I had a bad dream, and Mimi kept Izzy up with her growling.”
“Shouldn’t you be used to that by now, Izzy?”
Izzy set his spoon down and glared at Davis. Tyler burst out laughing.
“What?” Davis asked, confused.
“Man, if one more person says something about that, I’m gonna hurt them,” Izzy said.
“What’d I say?”
“Don’t worry about it,” Tyler said, still laughing. “It’s an inside joke.” He got up and threw the empty water bottle in the trash can. “I’ll see you guys in the morning,” he said, waving to them.
“Hey, Tyler?” Izzy said, getting Tyler’s attention.
“Yeah?” Tyler said, turning around.
“We’re friends again, right?”
“Of course. You think something small like that would stop me from being friends with you?”
“I guess not.”
“There you go. I’ll see you tomorrow.” Tyler left Izzy and Davis in the kitchen.
“I’m glad to see he’s upbeat again,” Davis said.
“I am too,” Izzy said. “You know, it’s weird how that our girlfriends are tied to this. I mean, I know that Blind explained to us how it came to be, but it still feels weird, you know?”
“Yeah, I know what you mean,” Davis said with a yawn. “Oh, well. I’m going to bed. With any luck, I’ll survive Kari’s next onslaught.”
“You might have better luck sleeping on the floor,” Izzy said, getting up and putting the ice cream carton in the trash can. “Of course, Mimi’s going to try to kill me when she finds out I ate her ice cream.”
“You better pray that she doesn’t find out then,” Davis said, getting up from the table.
“She has her ways. I’ll just have to apologize in advance tomorrow.”
Davis stared at him. “Nice knowing you,” he said, turning around and walking out of the kitchen.
“Thanks for the support, pal,” Izzy said sarcastically, following him out.
“Hey, I do what I can,” Davis said with a shrug.
“Yeah, right. Now I know the whole world’s against me.”
“You’ve been through worse, I know the world shouldn’t be a problem.”
“Whatever. Goodnight Davis.”
“See you tomorrow, Izzy.”
See what happens when you have temporary writer’s block? It takes some time to get another chapter up. Anyway, please read and review.
Chapter 3: Commence Training
“Good morning, love,” Sara said, stretching and placing her leg over Tyler’s waist under the cover.“Good morning, lady,” Tyler said, pulling her closer to him.
**************************************************************** *********************
