Chapter 27: Kitsune appears

I hate to fly Kitsune thought

No I really hate to fly

There is too much trouble with flights. Something could go wrong with the engines. The pilots could fall asleep and crash the plane. The cabin could decompress and every one could suffocate and die. Some idiot could storm the cockpit and crash it into a building.

Those things rarely happen

Kitsune was sent to Japan by here mysterious boss.

What the hell did he want with these children, she thinks. She shook her head as she walked down the ramp and out to the main boarding station. She reached her arms over her head and stretched, giving the guys around here a quick glimpse of her stomach and breasts. She stood around 5'5 and was very beautiful. She had no idea why her boss had sent her here. In America she had just started a new job, she had moved into a new apartment, when she got the call she rushed out of her apartment and had left without calling her new boss. Oh well, the payment for this job should set her for a while.

Her boss always gave her the strange assignments. One time she followed a local businessman around for a month and a half, not doing anything, never talking to him, just followed him around.

He committed suicide short after

She had seduced a politician who was working against a new law against immigration. After the bill was passed he was found in his office, a gun in his mouth ended his life

But Kitsune never killed anyone; she did what her boss asked of her and never gave it a second thought. But it did intrigue her that every time she got close to someone; they died after her mission was over

Kitsune's cell phone began to ring; she pulled it out of her carry on bag and checked the caller id

The liquid crystal display read unavailable

The way it always did when her boss called her

"Hello?"

"Welcome to Japan Kitsune. I can tell it has been a long time since you have been here"

"Yes it has been"

She had never met her boss, at one time in her life Kitsune had been in an orphanage. She never knew her parents or why they gave her up. Now at the age of 22 she still doesn't know who or what she is. One day she was adopted, at the age of 17, she never saw her adopter, she was given an address of a house, inside there was food, a warm bed and money. She never had to pay any bills; the phone only rang when her boss called her with something to do.

"I assume you saw the video file I sent you"

"Yes sir"

The voice was always the same, dark and mysterious, at times it sounded evil, at times it scared her, but she did what it told her

"Those children are very important to me; I do not wish them to be harmed"

"Yes sir"

"Outside you will find a car, in the glove compartment you find pictures and money to set you up in Heighten View Terrace, it will be just outside of Tokyo"

"Yes sir. But how will I get the car keys?"

The voice almost seemed to growl at her

"Where do you think? They will be under the driver's seat. You will know what car it is; it will suit you just fine"

"Yes sir. Anything else?"

"You will be contacted later with further details. Right now your mission is to make friends with those teenagers in the picture"

"Yes sir"

Then just like always the call ended, the voice gone

Kitsune sighed as she walked. She had never been really good with friends; either they would stab her in the back or just leave.

In the end they always just caused more pain

The sliding glass doors of the airport slid open with a whoosh

Outside waiting for her was a silver Mitsubishi Evo

The boss always knew, knew what would suit her

Elsewhere…

"Dude, do you really think that it was a good idea to tell Miyako that Ken was evil?" Daisuke asked Takeru

"Would you had wanted her to keep acting like she was, always depressed? Eventually she would have found out"

"Come on T.K, she is an emotional wreck. You know how long it took her to convince her to come over?"

"I understand Daisuke. But…you know you mention it now, but something felt really strange about him, there at the end"

"What are you talking about?"

Takeru just stood there; he had felt something when Daisuke died but…

"Never mind"

Taichi was laughing now, laughing loudly now

"I don't see what is so funny" Sora said

"You can not, I repeat call our children that"

"Well it will come up eventually"

"She has a point Taichi" Mimi said

"Oh don't tell me that you have ready chosen a name"

Mimi blushed slightly

"There is nothing wrong in being prepared"

"Oh you two, I sear, you two" Taichi said as he began to laugh again "Jyou please back me up on this one man"

"I am not getting in this one; you are on your own there Tai. But I would stop laughing before you get yourself in trouble"

Taichi stopped and looked over to his future wife, she looked pissed. Maybe Jyou was right; he coughed softly and was quiet

Hikari and Michael were playing video games

"I'm telling you the only way to get Tidus's divine weapon is to beat that chick in a race" Hikari said

"You know this is the reason why I hate RPG's" Michael said with a sigh

"Oh please you know you play those dating sims" Hikari teased

Michael blushed

"That is different"

"How is that different, it's based on the same principal"

"Not true, those games you can go different ways"

"Well still Michael there is no way you will be able to beat Sin…Just give me that"

Hikari lunged for the controller

"I can do it" Michael said holding the controller over her head

"But I can do it faster" she replied with a smile

"Give it to me"

"No"

Hikari backed off and began to pout

"You know you are not as cute when you do this"

"Huh?" Michael said blushing once again

"Gotcha" Hikari's eyes brightened and took the controller again

"Hey that is not fair"

Taichi watched this with interest

"God my sister is such a tease"

No sooner than he finished his sentence did he receive an elbow to the ribs

"Don't say things like that Tai" Sora replied not looking at him, reading through Mimi's baby names book

Taichi grimaced "Well she is"

Sora stopped and looked up

"I forgot something over at your apartment"

Taichi groaned, Sora had become very forgetful lately

"Do you really need it?"

"I wouldn't have said that if I didn't"

He groaned and stood up

"What is it?"

"My wallet"

"I have some money; we don't need it anyway seeing that Yamato gets us in for free anyhow"

"There is something else in there I need. Please Please Please"

Sora looked at him, her eyes sad and large. Taichi could not resist

"Oh all right. Ill go and get it for you"

He started to walk out and she grabbed his leg

"I love you"

"You had better"

"No kiss"

He bent down and kissed her quickly

"I'll see you at the show. Don't walk alone, walk with the others"

"Yes Dad" Sora said with a smile

Taichi turned and walked out

The night air was crisp and cold. He was really wishing that he had grabbed his coat on the way out, oh well that was another thing Sora had forgotten so she had taken his. Good thing he had another one in his closet

He rounded the corner, another good thing was that Mimi and Jyou's apartment wasn't too far from his own

He stopped short, it sounded like someone was following him. At times he wished he still had his weapon, he turned slowly only to see someone getting into their car

He sighed in relief

Taichi had grown quite paranoid in the last few months after the battle at Ken's castle. If Demon had wanted the babies so much, he wouldn't have stopped trying after Ken was killed. Demon would return. And he would be ready for the destines. That thought woke Taichi at night, soaked in sweat. This was supposed to be the happiest time of his life; he had a girl who loved him enough to give him a child, friends that he could count on. He didn't want to fear that he could be attacked by god knows what at any time.

He rounded another corner and was at his apartment, he looked up to his apartment and the lights were out, signaling that no one was home.

"Excuse me, can you help me" A woman's voice said behind him

He turned to see a beautiful silver haired girl standing there, shivering from the cold

"Uh sure"

"Is this the Heighten View Terrace Apartments?"

"Yeah"

The girl smiled

"Good, I thought I was lost." She smiled at him looking him up and down "I am Kitsune by the way, your new neighbor"

Something inside Taichi stirred, he didn't know whether he should be frightened or nice to this new girl
