Part 1:

Author's note: This is my prologue. The events that take place the prologue are all occurring at the same time, before part one begins. This fic take place about six years later. The characters are all 17 except for T.K and Kari who are 14 and Joe who is a whopping 18. Okay I rewrote this part and added things, I know by now, season one is old school, but oh well, and Ces' t las vie, as I say. When I wrote this fic, digimon 01 was the news, not 02. Anyway this is the new improved version. Not tons of changes, just some. Well that's the end of my little talk, so I'll shut up so you can read my fic. Have fun and don't get too messy.

There is a silent sleek room, clothes occupy the floor, other odds and ends, including a guitar, cover the rest of the room. A burst of music awakens the room. Loud guitar music plays where it once was silent.

"Uhuh. Dammit!"

A beaten voice grunts. A hand sneaks out from under the bed covers, and slaps the radio, hoping to silence it. It doesn't work.

"Good morning Tokyo." The radio continues to blare. "What a beautiful day we have in our mist."

"Uhhuh. Shutup! " A girl yells as she hits the radio causing it to fall off the desk it was on. The radio instantly goes dead.

The grunting continues as covers on the bed fly off. Two feet step down onto the floor as they start to stager. The phone starts to ring .She quickly picks up the ringing phone. The words spoken on the other line ring in her mind. The voice on the other line was very instructive

"Hey out of bed lazy, it's Mark. I have a way out of our mess. Meet me down at the place tonight, alright. Bye. "Click, is the only sound she hears as the call is disconnected. The tall thin girl stands there in boxers and a tank while her long crimp brown hair flows over her breathless mouth.

Tai and Sora were walking around looking for something to eat. They left their digimon back at camp, knowing they would be right back. Sora was starting to feel awkward .She just couldn't stand the silence.

"I should say some thing, but what? I really don't know why everything's so awkward. I mean Tai and me can talk about anything. Except for that "thing." She sighed." I guess I'm just so stressed, with this whole saving the world thing taking so damn long .Its been such a long time since we got into this whole mess. I'm 17 years old now and…."

"SORA!" Her thoughts stopped as she realized Tai was talking to her. "What's up? I've been calling you for like five minutes."

"Nothing, I was just thinking. "

"About?"

"Us."

"Huh?" He questioned as he came to a stop "Us? What about US?" She stopped along with him.

"We have been here for along time. I mean we just went home to get you sister beat Myotismon and now we're here, again. We fought evil digimon for like years now. I haven't seen my family in such a long time. Tai we're 17 years old and I'm pretty sure I wasn't 17 when I signed up for summer camp."

" What's your point?"

" Tai can you please, just for one minute be mature and serious." She said getting a little upset.

"I'm sorry I thought you meant…"

"Meant what?" She said somewhat excited.

"Aw nothing."

"No Tai tell me .You can tell me anything. "

"Well we have been here a long time as you mentioned, and I think, no I know it's time we talk about US. Not US as a group, but US , as in you and me. " Sora looked straight at him.

" What about US?" She said with a glossy look in her eye.

"We've know each other for like a long time, and I was just wondering if you ...ya know." A confused look came over her face.

"No Tai I don't know." She said abruptly.

"You know thought of us, not as friends but, you know." He said getting a glare in his eye. She looked at him confused. But she was smarter than that. She knew Tai wanted her to say it, but she wouldn't. She wanted to hear the words she waited so long to hear come out of Tai's mouth.

A tall handsome young man stood waiting by a long dark alley. He placed a cigarette in his mouth and lit it. As soon as he heard footsteps he looked up anxiously. The footsteps grew closer, and a dark sleek figure showed up in the light. As the figure edged closer the light hit its face. The light reveled a tall thin girl with silky long brown crimped hair, glowing dark brown eyes and luscious strawberry lips. She was wearing a small black tank top that showed off her belly button ring, and a pair of ripped jeans.

" Hey there pussycat." He said.

" Hey. Great timing when you called. I was just getting out of bed." She paused, and looked at him for a second. "Has anyone ever told you smoking is bad for you." She said taking the cigarette out of his mouth, and flicking it on the ground.

"No, no one. Thank you." He said sarcastically. She looked at him with concern. "Mark are you sure this is the right idea? I mean we've never had to deal with anything this bad, and I'm worried what if it goes wrong?"

"Kat, This is our only option. If we get caught, we get caught, but we do it together. No exceptions. Alright." She shook her head In agreement.

The rest of the teens sat at camp with their digimon. They were waiting for Tai and Sora to return.
"Tai and Sora have been gone quite a while."

Izzy observed.

"Great one captain oblivious." Matt said too annoy them.

"Maybe something bad happened to them or maybe they're dead or hurt or…"

Mimi nudged Joe.

"Don't say anything like that Joe. I'm sure their fine. It's not dark outside yet so I'm sure they're okay. They'll be back soon." She said calmly.

"I sure hope your right Mimi." Matt added

" I know my brother" Kari said" He's probably lost or something like that. But there's no need to worry they'll be here soon. Tai maybe irresponsible, but he won't let anything happen to Sora."

" Kari's right. There's nothing to worry about." Matt said glaring especially at Joe.

" Fine then. Let's just wait a little while and if they're not back before dark we'll

Go look for them. Okay" Joe said.

" Okay" the rest of them, said in agreement.

" Come on. Let's go.''

Mark said very anxiously. He said starting to leave the alley.

" Mark. I 'm not ready. I just can't do this. This just isn't right."

Kat said very uneasy

"If you want to accept the way they treat you, fine! Then get the hell out of my face! You can leave right now! But there's no way in hell I'm going back home! I'm getting the hell out of here. There isn't a chance in hell they will believe us! I mean we did what we had to, and now were gonna get slammed for it. That's not going to happen to me, I'm going. If you want to back out that's fine! Go the fuck ahead!" Mark said starting to shout.

" Its okay Mark."

Kat said gently stroking his head.

" I'm just not…"

Her words were cut short.

" You kids freeze"

A loud booming voice yelled.

" It's the cops! "

Mark yelled as he grabbed Kat's hand and started to run. The cop pulled out his radio transmitter and reported his findings.

"I have the criminals in my site. Yes sir, I will lock them up if I catch them, and trust me I will."

"Tai, I just ... well I don't know, I've never really thought about it."

" You haven't? "

" No, not really." She said as she put her head down.

"Well to tell you the truth nether have I. " Tai told Sora who instantly looked back up.

"You haven't?" She said getting a glow in her eye.

"No I haven't .I like you, that's for damn sure, but as more than friends, I'm not really sure .I mean you like my sister but I still…"

"You still what?" He just shrugged " Tai are you trying to tell me that you have a crush on me?

Kat and Mark continued to run. The cops were hot on their heels.

"Mark why are we running? We should go back and tell them everything that happened. I'm sure they will probably believe us and, we should just go back. We know the truth so it will be fine. This is stupid!"

Mark stopped and looked around .He spotted an alley and pulled Kat into the alley.

"Look Kat. You and me, have nothing and no one except each other. You want to go back , that's fine. But do think your folks will take you in again after everything you've done. Face it babe we've seriously fucked up this time. They're gonna put us in jail this time. This is bad, even for us. So if you want to go back you can leave, but it's you're life. Don't mess it up more then it is. "

Kat's eyes got wide and glossy as she felt her insides pulling in. The big lump in her throat was killing her as she meekly spurred out the words

"Okay."

"It will be okay as long as we have each other. I promise I will get you out of here. I will fix this."

He said to comfort her. He gave her a hug. They stood there in each other's arms, both unable to move.

"HEY!"

They both let go and turned to the light flashing in their eyes.

" I found them!"

A cop yelled as he started running towards them. Mark took off with his hand in Kat's. They started up the fire escape of a near by apartment building. They ran until they found an open window. Mark crawled thought the window and then he helped Kat through. They were faced with a long lighted hallway. They started walking slowly. Kat felt her heart ready to jump out of her chest. They continued to walk. They spotted a door that read stairs. Mark spotted the cops coming from a distance.

"Kat go up the stairs and meet me on the roof. Okay "

"But I thought …"

" Forget what I said and just go! " He said yelling at her.

Kat felt her upchuck reflex kick in but she just stood there. She had the feeling that her heart had ripped itself from her chest.

"He said as long as we stay together everything would be fine, and now he's leaving. This is so not fine. Dammit! Why me, please god not again."

Her eyes were starting to swelter. It had been a long day. She couldn't cry, She wouldn't cry. " Fine then. I'll see you on the roof." She said with a little pain in her voice

" Okay pussycat I'll see ya soon." He said as he kissed her cheek and then ran down the hall.

" Bye." She said as pain ran through her body as she watched Mark run off, knowing that was the last time she would ever see him.

The teens were starting to get worried. Even Kari was starting to show concern.

"Should we go look for them? "

Matt asked.

"I think so."

Mimi answered.

"Okay who's gonna go? "

Matt asked again. They all switched glances.

"I'll go. "Mimi said as she stood up. Everyone broke out into laughter "This is not a laughing matter. It's not funny guys. I can do it. I'm a big girl I can do it really." She said starting to get upset.

"Mims you're right we shouldn't laugh. Izzy and me will go with you. "

Matt suggested. He said as he put his arm casually around her shoulder.

"Okay then. Let's go."

Mimi said as she started walking away.

"Don't worry Mims, Joe has some Band-Aids in case you break a nail."

"Funny. And I've got a pocketknife that could castrate you. Just in case ya know." She said from ahead. Everyone laughed expect Matt who couldn't think of anything to say to beat that. He and Izzy followed. Palamon, Tentomon and Gabumon trailed closely behind, leaving TK., Kari and Gatomon, Patamon, Joe, Gomamon, Biyomon, and Agumon Behind.

Kat thought she was gonna lose it. This all was so overwhelming. It was like a reoccurring nightmare for her." What the hell am I doing? What am I thinking?" She thought, but there was no time for that now. The cops had just spotted her. Jumping to her feet she opened the door to the stairs. She started running up. The cops were right behind her. It wasn't until it was too late did she realized she was trapped .The only way to go was up and once there was down. She knew very well the next place to go was the roof and there was no way DOWN from there. Her thoughts were shattered when she felt a tug on her leg. A cop had reached though the bars of the stair behind her and grabbed her leg.

"I got her Boys"

"Let go!"

She yelled as she started to struggle

"You're not going anywhere Hon"

"Let go of me!" She said as she continued to struggle.

" Now why would I do a thing like that."

Kat was trapped. She didn't want to go to jail, and she couldn't go back home. She had to think fast, but time was running out.

Mimi was leading the way. Izzy and Matt followed closely along with their digimon.

"Where do you think they went Matt?"

Mimi asked

" Don't look at me. I don't know where to start."

"Usually my digivice goes off when they're close or something like that, but something's wrong with it.''

Izzy added

"Well let's keep walking, don't worry guys they'll turn up."

Matt said reassuring.They continued to walk, hopeing not find Sora and Tai and not trouble.

"I don't know what I'm telling you Sora."

"You mean you don't have a crush on me?!" Sora said trying not to act hurt.

"I didn't say that!" He said trying to say the right thing.

"So you do?"

"No …yes…I… mean. Oh forget it .I don't even know what Im talking about." He said giving up.

"Well Tai The truth is I…I don't like you."

"You don't? Why not?" He said getting confused. He was sure Sora had feelings for him.

" No, I don't like you as a friend, but as a ... you know."

"No I don't."

Tai said starting to instigated trouble.

"Fine if you won't admit that you're infatuated with me, I'll do it for you. Tai face it you are in love with me."

"Are you sure Sora? How do you know that you're not the one that loves me."

Sora face grew blank.

"Because its not true."

"I mean I don't blame you Sora, I am pretty handsome and strong and did I mention handsome."

" Yeah twice .Oh please Tai. I just think that you just making up excuses. You're totally avoiding the subject. You're the one that's in love with me."

"What!" He said trying to act shocked.

" You're the one that is in love with me."

"Okay Sora backup. You love me, I don't see why you can't admit that." He just glared at her.

"Okay. Fine. You're cute." He glared at her know she could do better then that. "Okay, okay. You're hot. Happy!"

" You could say that."

"Let go!"

She yelled still struggling to break free.

"You're not going anywhere girlie!"

Kat was trapped she had to think fast. Time was going fast, Kat didn't know what to do. Then she looked up.

"That's It ! The fire alarm. If only I could reach it. "Kat reached out. Her fingers could barely brush the alarm. "Just a little further. I just have to reach it and pull. Just a little further." Kat stretched her arm. "Almost …….almost……"

She grabbed the alarm and pulled it down as hard as she could. Instantly the alarm reacted making a loud annoying buzz. The cop jumped with surprise causing him to let go of Kat's leg. Kat hit the ground running. She was running for dear life. She crashed through the door labeled 11.The hallway was now filled with panicky and confused people. She looked to her right and saw some cops and then there were some on her left. She went straight and blended in with the crowd. She slowly walked through the crowd.

"Hey there she is!"

One coped yelled. She ran to another door marked 11.She went threw it open. All the people were coming down. She was the only on going up. They were right behind her.

"The crowd will slow them down. "

She thought as she ran up all the way up to the door labeled roof. Once she had reached the roof she went out the door without stopping. Three cops had plowed after her, but only one made it to the roof. She ran until she felt her legs ready to burst .Her face was flushed and her eyes concerned .She slowly trotted as she slowed down.

" I know you're up here girlie." He said in an angry tone.

This was it .Kat knew there was no way out. She continued walking aimlessly looking for a solution.

"If she hasn't jumped yet I'm gonna throw her off! "

The angry cop mumbled to himself as he turned to see her standing with her back turned. An evil smirk came across his face.

Mimi, Izzy, Matt, Palamon, Gabumon, and Tentomon were still looking for Sora and Tai. They were walking through a forest. They came across a clearing with a stream.

"Oh I'm tired. Can we please sit down."

Mimi said as she sat.

"Mims we sat down three seconds ago. If we're ever gonna find Tai and Sora we have to keep going." Matt said trying not to get upset with her.

"I have to agree with Matt on the situation."

Izzy added. She gave them her innocent begging look. She let out a small pitiful whimper.

"Fine we'll rest here for a few minutes."

Matt said as he sat on the ground.

"I really don't know what to do now Sora. Now that you've admitted you want me."

" That's a first. This is really awkward Tai. No that its out I don't know what to say."

"You're supposed to say something like lets go back to camp or lets forget about it or something like that. You're supposed to have the answers."

"Tai seems to be really bent out about this. Maybe we should go back to camp or forget about it." She looked at Tai who was in deep thought." Hey Tai " She said breaking his train of thought.

" Huh?" He said looking her more confused then ever." What is it Sora?"

" You wanna make out? " She said trying to break the awkwardness. A blank look came over his face as he looked at her for a second, shrugged and then said" What the hell. Let's go."

The cop started walking towards her. He was right behind her .He reached his hand out and grabbed her arm.

"Hey there girlie"

Kat jumped and let out a small scream.

"Let me go! What do you want with me!? What are you gonna do to me!?"

" Don't know. What ever it is I guarantee you wont like it."

Kat gathered her strength and kicked him in the shin as hard as she could. Then she took of running. He let out a scream of pain.

" You little bitch. Youre gonna pay for that!" he said as he rubbed his leg for a second and then started after her. She found the door of the stairs she came up. It was her last hope. She bolted for the door only to find it stuck." Oh come on. " She started to whine " Dammit!" She said as she struggled to open the door. " Come on you piece of shit door. Come on, please. "She stopped and turned around to find herself face to face with the cop.

"I warned you girlie. I was gonna be nice but now you're gonna get it."

She started to back up. She could feel the wind blowing threw her hair as she came close to the edge.

"Im sorry you seemed like a nice girl. But looks can be deceiving. You're a little hellraiser, and I made it my mission to stop that. Jack was my last option. Seemed practical Huh? No one really cares anyway. You don't matter to anybody." Kat felt her heart beat faster and faster as she backed up, she thought it was going to explode. The cop noticed the edge was close. He just smirked. He pulled his gun out of its holster. He pointed it at her. She instantly put her hands up.

" You have been a thorn in my ass for a long time and now your gonnna get it." Kat's heart beat faster as she felt fear crawl through her veins." You're nothing. You honestly think you matter to anybody. Your parents want us to lock you up, but I'm gonna do more than that. I'm gonna personally rid the world of a little crack whore like you. On the ledge." She looked over the ledge she was close to.

" But were 15 stores up." She said frightened.

" I know. Now get your hot little ass up there." He said cocking the gun. Kat carefully climbed up on the ledge. She thought she felt her heart stop.

" Now what." She said fearing the worst. A greasy grin came over his face

" Jump."

" You can't be serious" She said hoping it was just a cruel joke.

" Look honey. I'm just doing my job. Exactly how many people do you think will come to your funeral? Your just nothing but a little slut. Nothing but a waste of people's time. It's really sad though a hot sweet young thing like you, nothing but trouble. I mean, who do you think everyone will believe. Me, the cop or you the criminal. I know Jack's death was an accident but that's a secret I will keep well. I underestimated you though, I thought for sure Jack would nail you in more ways them one. But that's all in the past. It's all over. Now jump or get a bullet in your head. Either way you die of course. So chose wisely." He moved his aim to her head. He glared at her. She just stood there motionless.

"If you kill me you'll be faced with my murder." She said trying to hide her fear.

" I don't think so." He pulled the trigger. The bullet flew over Kat's head but the sound of the shot scared her causing her to lose her balance. She fell off the edge. She let out a loud scream as she fell off and down.
