Summary: Hikari and Takeru met at the age of 8. Now its 4 years later and there now best friends and high school kids, though Kari wishes it was more.

Author note: I never writen a takari story before so don't kill me if it sounds bad please.

Chapter 1: A little trouble

Kari walked down the hallway quickly, "Man I'm late again." She says to herself. Not paying attention Kari hits someone knocking the person down, Kari turns, "Oh I'm so very sorry." Kari says as she helps the person up. "Thanks Hikari." The person says. "It's just Kari remember." She says. "Oh okay thank you Kari." The person says. "Your welcome Takeru." Kari says. "Its T.K. remember." He says. "Okay then your welcome T.K.." Kari says. "So what you late for?" T.K. asks. "Math class. You?" Kari asks. "Same so we better hurry." T.K. says as he runs ahead of Kari. They reach they"re class as the bell rings. Luckily the teacher"s back is turned so Kari and T.K. sneak in to their seats. "Good morning." The teacher says as he turns around. "Good morning Mr.Hikayo." The class says. "Is everyone here; Davis? "Here!" Takiya? Takeru, Hikari err T.K., Kari? "Here!" The teacher continues calIshig out names, "Good everyone"s here." Mr.Hikayo says. The class goes fine all the way through. Later after the 2nd class bell rings, "Okay sayonara class." Mr.Hikayo says with a wave. Kari gets up and begins walking out of the class, "Hey Kari wait." Says someone. "Yeah? Oh… Davis… hi what can I help you with?" Kari asks. "Wanna go out on a date tomorrow?" Davis asks. "What? Uh… no thanks I have something to do tomorrow." Kari says. "Oh? What?" Davis asks. "Davis has anyone ever tolled you, you need to mind your own business." Kari says as she continues walking towards the door.

"Kari!" Shouts T.K. "Huh T.K. yeah?" Kari asks. "You wanna meet for lunch?" T.K. asks. "Hmm? Sure T.K., sure I do." Kari says.

~Lunch time~

"Kari over here!" shouts someone. "T.K.? Nope just Davis." Kari says as she continues looking for T.K.. "Kari Kamiya!" someone else shouts. "There he is." Kari says as she walks over to where T.K. is sitting. "Hey T.K.." Kari says. "So what do you have to eat?" T.K. asks trying to make small talk. "Um… teriyaki chicken." Kari says, "You?" Kari asks. "Remen chicken." T.K. says. "Trade?" Kari asks. "Sure." T.K. says. T.K. and Kari switch lunches, "Your mom"s a good cook Kari." T.K. says. "Your mom too." Kari says. "Though I made the chicken." Kari says. "You did? Well then you"re a good cook then." T.K. says. "Thanks." Kari says with a smile. "Uh… Kari there"s this dance on Saturday you wanna… go with me?" T.K. asks. "Is he asking me out on a date?" Kari asks herself. "Kari?" T.K. asks. "Hmm? Sure." Kari says. "Really?" T.K. asks. "T.K. I said, sure now if you want I can change my mind." Kari says with a happy smile. "Yes I'm going on a date with Takeru." Kari thinks. "Okay I"ll pick you up at 8:00 then." T.K. says. "Okay it's a date then." Kari says as they finish eating they"re lunches. "Oh T.K. call me please?" Kari says. "Sure." T.K. says.

~At Davis's table~

"WHAT!?! Kari and TG going on a date!?!" Davis whines. "You should have asked her Davis." A friend of his says. "I did, but she said, she had something to do." Davis says. "Yeah like go on a date with TG." Davis says in a whiney voice. "Oh come on there are other fish in the sea." His friend says. "Yeah but only one Kari." Davis says, "Man I hate Td." Davis says in a choked voice.

~Saturday- in Kari's house~

Kari is pacing up and down, "When is he going to call me?" Kari asks aloud. "Kari please stop your pacing your making me sick." Her brother Tai says. "Gomen ne Taichi I'm just worried he"s not going to call." Kari says. "Ore no kami, Kari he"s going to call you now stop pacing your acting like a father to be." Tai says. The phone rings, "Is it him?" Kari asks. "I don't know go answer and find out." Tai say as he hands the phone to Kari. "Thanks. Hello T.K.?" Kari asks. "Yup hi ya Kari so why you want me to call?" T.K. asks. "Just to talk." Kari says. "Oh." T.K. says. Then is now quite on both ends as the two think on what to talk about. "Ah I know, Hey T.K. wanna go to the DigiWorld and see are friends?" Kari asks. "Is the gate open?" T.K. asks. "I think so." Kari says. "Cool be right over just let me tell Matt." T.K. says as he puts down the to find Matt, in the background Kari can hear T.K. talk to Matt, "Matt I'm going to Kari and we"re to DigiWorld okay?" T.k. asks. "Sure oh say hi to Patamon for me please?" Matt says. "Okay." T.K. says as he picks up the phone again, "I"ll be there in moment." T.K. says,"Just need to change." T.K. says. "Okay bye." Kari says as she hangs up the phone. "Now I need to change but what to wear?" Kari asks. Kari heads for the bathroom, showering quickly Kari gets out and puts on a light blue jeans and white t-shith, "Okay that good now to ait for T.K.." Kari say as she heads for the couch. The door bell rings and Kari gets it. There it the door is T.K., wearing jeans and a green shith and his white fishermen"s hat. "Really?" T.K. asks as holds out his arm to Kari, with a blush Kari takes his arm in her. "Yup." Kari says. With this Kari and T.K. head for the DigiWorld.

~Later in the DigiWorld~

Patamon and Gatomon meet T.K. and Kari, "T.K.!" Patamon shouts. "Patamon hi buddy." T.K. says. "Kari!" Gatomon shouts. "Gatomon!" Kari shouts. Patamon, Gatomon, T.K., and Kari play a game of tag. After the game of tag T.K. falls to the out of breath as does Kari, Patamon and Gatomon. "Whew." Everyone gasps out. "Really to go back T.K.?" Kari asks. "Kind of…" T.K. says. "Okay." Kari says, "Goodbye Gatomon, Patamon!" Kari says as she opens the to the real world. "Bye Patamon!" T.K. says.

Chapter 2: Kari"s longing wishes

~Later in the real world~

"Bye Kari!" T.K. says as he walk through his home. "Bye T.K." Kari says as she enters her house. As she enters she runs to her room crying. "Kari worry did soething happen?" Tai asks. "Leave me alone." Kari says. "Okay." Tai says.

~In Kari"s room~

Kari is lying her on bed crying her eyes out, "Why am I crying?" Kari asks, "I'm not sad but I'm crying why?!" Kari says. Kari lies on her bed in quite, all back someone music play in another apartment can be heard:

Kari listen to song and music suddenly she get up and goes to her computer,

And opens her AOL Instant Messenger, the show Hikari signing on:

Hikari: T.K. you there?

Takeru: Yeah what is it?

Hikari: Today was fun.

Takeru: Thanks, but you thought of it.

Hikari: I know but you made it better.

Takeru: thanks Kari.

Hikari: Your welcome, anyways good night.

Kari is about to sign off, but T.K. type something, that sstops Kari.

Takeru: Wait a sec.

Hikari: What is it?

Takeru: Um… good night Kari.

Hikari: Same love ya night.

Hikari signee off at 10:00PM

Takeru signed off at 10:01PM

Chapter 3: Light shaded dream

With that talk Kari and T.K. go to bed both happy for eachother. Later in the middle of the night Kari has a dream; Kari"s dream, "Kari Kamiya awaken, awaken." Says a voice. "What? T.K.?" Kari asks as she look for who talking. "Davis?!" Kari says. "Hi ya Kari." Davis says. "Great I'm in a nightmare." Kari says. "Release fued." Someone says. "Never T.G." Kari hears Davis says. "What-what happening who that?" Kari asks as she looks down, "T-T.K.? My knight in shining armor?" Kari asks. "Kari you got jump I catch you." T.K. says. "What are you crazy? I can't T.K." Kari says. "Kari you have to." T.K. says. "I can't, I won't." Kari says. "Kari do truth me?" T.K. asks. "Yes." Kari says. "The jump." T.K. says as he and Kari jump. "Ahhhhh!" Kari shouts. Kari awakes on the floor, "Just a dream." she says, "I hope." Kari says, "What is time?" Kari asks herself, "only 5:30 I should to sleep."she says. Kari lies back and tries to get back to sleep at less to get another half hour of sleep.

~Later that morning-in Kari"s dream~

Sapphire eyes meet ruby fire ones. He was there, right in front of her, telIshig her the words she had dreamed about for as long as she could remembered. "Kari Kamiya, I love you." T.K."s voice says. "Oh, I love you too T.K.." she could hear herself saying this with a unusual voice that didn't sound like hers. They stared at each other for a long moment, just watching the beautiful mysteries each other"s eyes held. Then his head started to tilt down towards her, in response she moved her face upward to meet his lips. By now they could feel each other"s warm breath. They kept getting closer, just a second and they would be sharing their most important kiss ever. Lips coming closer and closer, almost touching and then…

"KARI WAKE UP!!!" yelled a half cross- half-asleep Tai

"Wait, were did that voice come from is that Tai?

HEY!!! Where did T.K. go? Great you"re trying to kiss a boy and wait a second. Why is it so dark in here???? Oh yeah, my eyes are closed." Kari says.Slowly Kari opened her drowsy eyes. She found a pair of eyes staring at her, it was a boy could it be... "T.K.?" Kari asked in a really sleepy voice

"Guess again," says a giggling Tai

"Oh Tai, sorry I was half asleep on that one," Kari says.

" So I guess you were dreaming about your prince charming T.K. again?" Tai says with a mocking expression in his face.

" Of course not." replied Kari, as she herself with the sheets so Tai couldn't see the bright pink color rising in her cheeks.

"Yeah right." Tai says, "Anyway you were supposed to be up 10 minutes ago, T.K. is gonna be here to walk you to school in like half an hour, so better hurry up." "Yeah alright." says Kari, sitting on the bed

"Besides," says Tai as he walks to the door, "you don't wanna keep your prince waiting right?"

"Shut up," Kari shouts as she throws a pillow to the now half-closed door, missing Tai by just an inch.

Kari hurries and goes into the shower, the water felt good against her hot face. She washed her hair and then just sat there in the bathroom floor for a moment.

"God, I can't believe it was a dream it felt so real. I really wish it could come true tough. I really like him, but I mean we are best friends and I don't think he"ll want more than that he did it had to be you T.K.. God! I just love you so much." She says these last words out loud but only as a whisper, " I love you T.K.", she repeats to herself and then sighs.

Kari knew she could stay there for hours just thinking about T.K., but she also knew that he was gonna be there any minute now so she better go get dress. She got out of the shower and reached for a towel. Then she dried herself and goes to her room to get dressed.

She took about 10 min. to choose her clothes, but at last she picked a low-cut blue jeans, with a short white halter top with the word angels in light blue glitter. High hill shoes, a couple of clips in her shoulder length brown silky hair and a little makeup would do it. She looked casual enough but the makeup and the fact that she was showing her belly button gave her a nice sexy look. She finished and went to the kitchen to have breakfast, It was

7:30 a.m., and T.K. ought to be there in about 15 min. so she still had time

T.K. glanced at the clock in his bedroom wall, " 7:30" he says to himself " I better go now if I wanna make it to Kari"s house and school in time"

He finishes arranging the things in his schoolbag and goes out of the room. "See you later mom," T.K. says as he approaches the door,

" Yes son, take care" replied his mom.

He pretty much ran all the way down the building"s stairs. Tai and I reached the street panting.

"7:35, I still have time to make it, I guess I better walk", he says talking to himself again.

So he just walked down the quiet streets and in all that silence his thoughts drifted to the only thing that some way or another always was on his mind: Kari.

She really is the prettiest girl I"ve ever seen. But not only that, since I can remember Kari has been there for me every time and she is so sweet and fragile and I guess with time I grew fond of her until I fell in love with her.

T.K. found himself blushing at the thought of this last words and just shook the thought away, but it was not that easy to get Kari out of his mind.

God T.K. what are you thinking, you and Kari are never gonna happen, she sees you as a friend but nothing more, besides as far as I know she might like another guy she might even like Davis

T.K. trembled a little at the thought of Kari actually falling for Davis, what would he do if that ever happened although that wasn't possible or is it?

He was so lost in his thoughts that he started walking slower until he realized he was late so he just ran all the way to the Kamiya"s apartment.

He finally reached Kari"s house, he knocked twice and got a "come in" response from inside so he did. He walked inside and found Kari sitting on the kitchen table eating a bowl of cereal.

"She looks so pretty. God every time I see her, she reminds me more of an angel." He was just there staring at her when Kari looked up, "Ohh T.K., you scared me" " Did I? Sorry." T.K. says with concern in his voice "No it's okay, do you wanna have some cereal?" Kari asks. " No, I'm fine." he says.

"Alright then, just let me put this bowl in the sink and we"ll leave" and as she says this Kari stands up from the table and heads for the sink. Naturally when she did this, her bellybutton came into view.

T.K. just stood there watching Kari and blushing as he noticed Kari"s short top.

I didn't know Kari would wear those type of clothes but I'm not complaining. I like that blouse, and she does have a really nice bellybutton

After placing the bowl in the sink Kari walks to the front door and bends over to pick up her schoolbag

"Owf." I thought she had a nice bellybutton but it's nothing compared to her ass. Man!! It's so… man I like it."

"Okay T.K. let's go." Kari says. T.K. just stands there lost in his not so innocent thoughts. "T.K.? You okay?" Kari asks again. T.K. snaps out of his trance and deeply blushing and looking at Kari as if she was able to know what he had just been thinking " Okay Kari, let's go" he says looking anywhere, but at her face.

So they left the apartment and started walking to school together like all the time talking and laughing and also each one thinking how much they liked the other.

They barely reached the school in time because they"ve just been talking so much they didn't mind the time. They went inside and ran into Davis, he was a little mad seeing T.K. and Kari together but luckily Zoey showed up before he could start his whole "what are you doing with my girl Keyooto " speech.

" Hi guys" Zoey says as the three of them greet her back. " So what's up Zoey?" Kari asks. " Not much, just that I talked to Kai and he says the gate to the Digital-World will be open today so I thought you guys might wanna come with me to visit our digi-pals" Zoey says. " Sure thing" they all replied at the idea of seeing their friends again. " Okay, Zoey says, so I"ll see you guys at 3:00, one hour after school ends." " Why not at 2:00?" T.K. asks. " Because I'm having a meeting at 2:00 with the computer club besides I think Davis and Kido have soccer and Kendou today." Zoey says.

" And I have cheerleading practice. " Kari says, " Hey T.K. don't you have basketball practice today?" Kari asks. " Nope, they reschedule it for tomorrow, but it's okay I guess I"ll go to the library and do some homework." T.K. says.

" Well, I guess I"ll see you guys at 3:00 then, now I'm gonna go find Kido." Zoey says as she waves good-bye to them.

The bell rings so T.K., Kari and Davis go to their classrooms.

School went boring as always but the thought of going to the Digital- World after 6 long months made all the Digidestined's day happy.

Finally at 2:00 the bell rings and each of the kids parted to their different activities. T.K. slowly walks to the library and sits down with a Biology book to do his research homework. But he just couldn't concentrate, he even couldn't write the title to his essay.

"God T.K., can't you think of ANYTHING else?"

But T.K. more than anyone knew the answer to that question, of course he couldn't. He always thought about Kari and nothing seemed to change that.

This is useless I can't get her off my mind … and besides I don't want to lose you in my mind I can dream about kissing her.

T.K. heavily sighs and decides that since he obviously couldn't work maybe he should go to the Digital-World now and get a chance to see his digimon a little longer, besides it was only 2:15 the others would be there in just 45 min. that wasn't long.

So he goes out of the library and into the computer room, he opens the gate to the Digital-World and goes in search of Patamon.

Kari walks to the gym to meet her friends for practice but to her surprise, when she reaches it she finds out that nobody is there.

"Weird, maybe they"re just late" she says to herself. But 5 minutes later one of her cheerleading friends walks in, " Hey Amy, where"s everyone else?" Kari asks "Didn't you know Kari?, the practice was moved to tomorrow" Amy says

"Oh, I didn't know" Kari says. " Well, now you do, I guess I"ll see you tomorrow Kari," Amy says. "Yeah, bye" Kari says.

okay I don't have practice but now what do I do? Ohh maybe I"ll go see T.K. in the library but he"s working I better not bother him. I guess I"ll go to the Digital-World a little earlier, that way I"ll get to see Gattomon little longer besides it's only 2:15

So she runs to the computer room and enters into the digital world.

After a couple minutes of searching T.K. quickly finds Patamon. Patamon was so happy to see T.K. that he just flew to his arms and then rests on his head like he used to do.

"T.K., I'm so happy to see you!!!" " Me too buddy, so how have you been?" "Okay as always I was just waiting for you, where is everyone else?" asked Patamon. "Well, they"ll be here in about 40 minutes, I just came a little earlier"

"That's good T.K., because I have lots of things to tell you" replied patamon as he starts telling T.K. his adventures for the past months.

T.K. tried to listen to what Patamon is saying but just as in the library his thoughts drifted to Kari.

"T.K. are you okay? " Patamon asks all of a sudden

" Huh? Yeah I'm alright buddy" T.K. says. " No you"re not, you look weird and you weren't listening to me" Patamon says. "Of course I was patamon" replied T.K..

" Really, then what was I talking about?" Patamon asks in a challenging tone of voice. "Uhhmm sorry buddy you"re right I wasn't listening it's just that my mind seems to be somewhere else." T.K. says. "That's Okay T.K. , but what's wrong?" Patamon asks. " Why should anything be wrong?" T.K. asks "Well... there must be a reason you can't concentrate" Patamon says.

T.K. just stands quiet. "Is it school?" Patamon asks. T.K. nods no

"Is it family stuff?" T.K. nods no again

"Then is it Kari?" Patamon asks, T.K. just stands quiet and then sighs, he knew he couldn't fool Patamon.

Kari walked into the digital-world and started looking for Gatomon, but she didn't see her anywhere near. She decides to take a little walk and maybe she would run into her digimon, Gattomon. She was lost in her thoughts which pretty much involved T.K.- when she saw a familiar figure not so far from her behind some bushes, as she approached she realized it was T.K. and Patamon, but since they were both backwards towards her they didn't see her.

She was just about to say hi when she heard her name, " Is it about Kari?" she heard Patamon ask T.K.

"Me?? But if it's about me I wonder what could T.K. be thinking about me well it's not right to stay and listen but... I really wanna know... I guess I"ll listen probably it's not an important thing."

So she quietly approaches and hides behind the bushes as she hears T.K. start to talk again.

"Oh buddy, I know I can't hide it from you. It's about her" T.K. says in sad voice

Patamon just looked at T.K., his eyes full of concern for his friend. "But, what's the problem with Kari?" asked Patamon "Well you know buddy about me and the way I... I feel about her" says T.K.

"You mean you haven't told her yet?" asked Patamon surprised. "Well" says T.K. "But T.K. you"ve felt this way for like what a year!!" replied Patamon. "I know, at first I thought it was something meaning-less but the feeling never went away, it just grew every day and I just don't have enough courage to tell her because I don't know what she"ll say to me." T.K. says in a sad tone and the heavily sighs.

"But T.K., if you don't tell her then you l never know how she feels" says Patamon. T.K. just sits there quiet so Patamon continues, "Besides have you thought that maybe she feels the same way for you?" T.K. hung his head a little and then says: "I don't know maybe but we"re just friends and I don't think she wants to change that". "T.K. you have to tell her, because I think what you feel for her is special, it didn't go away it stayed and grew with time. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you won't be able to stay with Kari just as a friend because you--." says patamon but he didn't finish the sentence. T.K. finished it for him " I love her" he says and just closes his eyes.

Behind the bushes Kari started listening to the whole conversation, she came closer so she could hear better

"Well you know buddy about me and the way I ... I feel about her." Kari heard T.K. say.

The way he feels for me?? I and what would that way be・..

"You mean you haven't told her yet?" Kari heard Patamon reply

Told me what?? I don't get it

She kept listening for a little longer and then she heard when T.K. said " I don't know maybe but we"re just friends and I don't think she wants to change that"

He wants to change our relationship???? What did he mean by just friends?!! Oh my god could he want anything more than friendship??!!!

Just then Kari"s heart skipped a beat or two and she stayed really quiet to listen. Her thoughts were confirmed and her heart literally stopped as she heard clearly T.K. says, " I love her"

T.K. was still sitting there with his eyes closed just quiet " Okay, I think you need some time to think, I'm leaving you alone and I"ll come back when the rest of the guys arrive okay?" Says Patamon

T.K. nodded and leaned back into a tree with his eyes closed just thinking about Kari.

Kari was just paralyzed. She just couldn't believe it

He loves me?? I can't believe it. What should I do I know I love him so I guess I ought to talk to him God I can't believe it

After that Kari saw Patamon leaving and T.K. just sitting there so she took all of her courage and stood up determined to talk to him.

T.K. still with his eyes closed heard some noise coming from the bushes behind him, he thought it was Patamon so he didn't bother in opening his eyes. Kari came from behind the bushes and approached T.K. from the back. " T.K. can I talk to you?" says Kari in a really low voice. T.K. gets scared from hearing Kari"s voice and for a moment he actually thought he had imagined it, but when he turned around he saw her in front of him, as pretty as always. "hmm sure Kari" he says trying to hide his blush. Kari sits next to him beside the tree, but when she opened her mouth to talk no words came out.

God I don't know what to say his is so hard. But I have to tell him I will be better for both of us

" ...T.K. ...I heard your conversation with Patamon." says Kari. T.K. felt his heart stop.

What?? Oh my God she heard me say that I love her oh God what... what if she hates me now???

T.K. allowed this great concern to come through his mouth as he says " Kari do you do you hate me now?"

Kari was a little shocked by the question but then she saw T.K."s eyes full of concern and she took a deep breath and looked to the ground ready to confess.

"T.K., of course I don't hate you. I can't and I never would because. I ... feel the same way for you I really like you too and I was very afraid to say anything because I didn't know what you would say but now I'm really happy because I know you like me too, right?"

Kari was still looking to the ground with her blushed face when she felt her head being lifted up and turned over by T.K."s gentle hand. He looked deep into her eyes and without another word pressed his lips softly against hers. He then parted the small kiss and looked into her eyes to see if Kari wanted him to stop. Apparently she didn't but he did see some concern in her beautiful crimson eyes " Kari, what's wrong?" he asked in a concerned voice.
